Starting over
Chapter 8
Rogue
Rogue was screaming at the idiot that was in her feet passing out. Good thing she got a lot of his strength or dragging him back to the house would be even more difficult. She finally managed to calm herself enough to see that he was still breathing and to get him to the house. Worse the idiot was up in a few minutes just wanting to try it again.
Does he have any survival instincts left or his healing factor just destroyed that!
She talked to Victor seriously about her fears, she just doesn't want to hurt him. He, of course, didn't care about the risks, was willing to let her test her power in him as many times as she want. But she couldn't do that. She needed more control before she can really relax. Victor was disappointed by her fears but was so patience with her. He truly looks at her as family, as pack, as… still not going there. She knows he is not a patience man and all the things he was doing for her was just making her more excited with gaining control.
That first night she slept in his bed with him holding her close like she never thought she could have. Rogue was still wearing long sleeves and pants and even gloves and socks, but until she can be sure that's the only way she can relax enough to sleep. Victor was even wearing clothes too, for his horror, because of course he sleeps naked normally, but not until she knows that she will not hurt him.
Her training started to really speed up in the next days, and she finally feel ready to start exploring the most dangerous of them all, her own mind. Rogue had successfully shut the voices in her head down, but she didn't do anything more, too scared to confront what was in her head. But is finally time. She isolated herself to be in her mind, but she was sure that Victor was close by, keeping tabs in her scent and emotions and ready to rescue her if things turn south.
The Victor in her head was keeping the voices locked and away from her, and now she needs his help to find her away. Inside her mind she could see some enormous corridors with locked doors everywhere. The cat was next to her, supporting her and giving her courage. She has no idea where to begin, but the cat guide her to a green corridor with close doors but no locks, probably the safest ones.
The first door is made of metal and even, so the cat isn't so happy about it, he makes no movement to stop her when she opened the door. Inside was a very attractive older man, reading a book in what looked like a comfortable room. He is surprised to see her at first but smiled sweetly to her.
- My dear, has been so long since you came for a visit, you have no idea how happy it makes me see your recovery. I miss you a lot, is really boring without our little talks.
Rogue looked at him confused, he looks familiar and speak with her with friendship, but there is something scary about him too. He noticed her confusion.
Oh yes, the memory thing, well I can help with that, or a few others could too, but I don't think that was what you wanted here. I'm a friend, at least here, he continues with a smirk, and I was helping you with your powers before this happened. My name is Erick, my dear girl.
My dear girl, those words waken something in her memory, Erick and my dear girl, what is it.
Wait, Erick, Oh my! You are the guy who tried to kill me! Magneto! Why are you… wait we are friends, in my mind. How this even happened, what is wrong with me, and you said you were helping me, it doesn't make any sense.
And why would not my dear. I never wanted to hurt you, I needed you, but I was not happy sacrificing you. You are a fascinating young woman with extraordinary powers. And you are a mutant in need of help, that was the only thing necessary for me to help you. You were worried about the increase of your powers, and I am a genius scientist and studied mutations for decades. Of course, I would help you. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to scary you. I still want to help you if you let me.
Rogue was looking to him, trying to understand all that he was saying, trying to feel his sincerity. Well, the cat didn't stop her so she probably could trust him. She made perfect clear that she was not interested in her memories, but she would listen to him about what they discover together about her powers. She talked about all her progress and all the way that Victor was helping her. It was clear that he disapproved Victor, thinking him beneath her, but she made perfect clear that her relationship with Victor was out of limits. After that got out of the way, she enjoyed her time with Erick very much, he was smart, he was charming, he was a great listener. She really made friends with the guy who killed her, well she was dating her kidnapper, so the one thing is getting clear to her is how twisted she truly is. Erick laughs a lot when she put that in words.
It was a productive first day and with Erick help she hoped she could go explore her head more easily. So she left her mind and went back to the arms of her lover, does she dared call him that, even to herself, well she was feeling a little daredevil, maybe she could find Victor and explore the feeling.
