It's been almost a month since Cas has been gone. Dean of course still had issues with him being gone, but it's getting better. He's made progress on the youth center, Charlie and Sam have come over a lot, but the only bad thing is Henry has picked up an attitude from hell.
He barely listens anymore and will throw tantrums over nothing. Dean was at his wits end plus he could feel his heat coming. Sure, he was upset that he didn't get pregnant the last time but he was more concerned about going through this heat alone. He didn't know if they'd be able to bring Cas back or not.
"Henry please pick up your legos I'm not going to ask you again." Dean sighed after walking back into the living room after checking on the casserole in the oven.
"No!" Henry yelled and continued to sit there and watch the movie that was on.
"Henry James, you have until the count of 3 to pick up your legos or I'm throwing them away." Henry continued to ignore him infatuated with the movie. "That's it. 1… 2…" Dean paused waiting to see if Henry would move.
"3!" Dean yelled and grabbed the remote to shut the movie off.
"HEY!" Henry yelled. Dean ignored him and grabbed the little trash can they kept in the living room and started throwing legos away.
"NOOO THOSE ARE MINE!" Henry yelled and ran over and started hitting Dean's arm.
"ENOUGH!" Dean yelled and snatched Henry's hand careful not to squeeze too tight. "Hitting is not allowed and you know that. I warned you multiple times to pick up the legos and you chose to ignore daddy. So, your legos go in the trash."
Henry started crying, "I hate you! I want papa!" Henry smacked Dean one last time before throwing himself onto the floor.
Dean got up after picking up all of the legos and went into the kitchen, let out a shaky breath and pulled out his phone.
"Hey sweetie." Mary answered after a few rings.
"Are you busy?" Dean asked.
"No. I was just asking Sam what he wanted for supper. What's up?"
"Can you come over? I can't deal with Henry right now, he's done nothing but throw tantrums all week and-" Dean let out a shuddering breath, the tears falling down his face.
"We'll be there in 5 minutes." Mary said softly.
"Thank you." Dean sniffed. Dean stood there trying to gather his composure but it was hard with Henry still sobbing from the living room. He pushed away from the counter and went to pick up his son off the floor.
"No." Henry whined and tried pushing Dean away.
"Stop it." Dean said firmly but Henry still struggled against him and ended up elbowing Dean in the lip.
"Son of a bitch!" Dean gasped and plopped Henry onto the couch. He tasted blood so he went into the bathroom off the living room. He rinsed out his mouth and looked in the mirror to inspect the damage. It was nothing bad just a small cut that was still bleeding so he made his way to the kitchen, stopping to pull the casserole out and grabbed a small ice pack from the freezer. By time he got it wrapped in a towel he could hear his mom and Sam's voice coming from the living room.
He found Henry in Sam's lap with a big frown on his face. "What happened?" Mary asked.
"Elbow to the lip." Dean mumbled around the ice pack.
"Henry, it's not nice to hit." Mary frowned and Henry stuck his tongue out at her but before he could pull it back into his mouth Mary grabbed it.
"Now listen to me Henry James. You do not behave like this, where is my sweet little grandson?" Mary asked and released his tongue. "What's the matter little guy?"
"I miss papa." Henry sniffled.
"There's casserole on the stove. I'm going to go upstairs for a little bit." Dean said quietly, he would have though too quiet if Sam hadn't nodded.
Dean sat at the end of the bed, threw his glasses off to the side and started sobbing. He missed Cas so much and he worries about him every day. He knows Henry misses him too and it doesn't help that he's literally a miniature Cas.
In the midst of crying he didn't hear someone come into the room. He jumped when there was a weight next to him on the bed. "Sorry." Mary said softly and wrapped her arm around Dean.
"I miss him so much." Dean continued to sob.
"I know sweetheart. I know."
"I don't know if I can go through this heat with out him mom. I don't know what to do."
"You're going to start your heat? When?"
"Couple of weeks. I can feel it."
"I can try and get you some suppressants that'll make it so you skip it." Mary suggested it.
"No. We want more pups I don't want to jack anything up. I haven't opened his closet or his dresser since he left. I'm just going to throw a bunch of his stuff onto the bed and suffer."
"Dean it can be dangerous."
"I know mom. I don't know what else to do."
"We'll figure something out.. But here's the deal with Henry. I called out for the rest of the week, I have enough personal days to use."
"Mom."
"Nope. I'm going to get Henry back under control. Sam is going to stay with you that way you're not completely alone and you two can have some bonding time."
Dean was quiet for a few seconds then let out a sigh, "okay."
"Okay. Now let's go eat." Mary said and kissed the top of Dean's head.
"I'll be down in a minute.
"Novak, you've finally made contact with Will. What do you know?" Harrison asked.
"Not a whole lot yet. There's hints about Alistair but no hard facts yet. There is a lot of drugs and prostitutes though."
"We haven't heard much either. If we want to go home we really need to start cracking down on things." Ford mentioned.
"Speaking of that…" Cas spoke up. "My rut is going to start next week. Is there anyway I can get home for the week?"
Harrison and Ford looked at each other, "we can try but no promises." Harrison explained.
"Understood." Cas nodded.
"If we did we'd have to make a show, give them a reason to not expect to see you for a while." Harrison continued. "I'll call my superior and let you know."
Cas unlocked his door and threw his keys onto the table. He was irritated because his rut was coming so he felt like he could pick a fight with anyone and he missed his family. He is so close to getting Will to spill the beans about Alistair but he has to be patient.
It's two days before his rut and Cas is pissed. He hasn't heard anything from Allison or Carl. He knows how bad Dean's heats can be and he's worried about him.
He stomped his way to the bar so he could wait for Will, hoping he can get more info on him. "Steve! I've been waiting for you man!" Will grinned and flagged the bartender down. "First round's on me."
"Thanks man." Cas took the beer and followed Will to a booth.
"You see the tits on that blonde over there?" Will asked once they sat down.
Cas tried to not choke on the sip of beer he just took. He chuckled, "how could you miss them?"
"Amen brother." Will laughed. They talked for about an hour they've had a few beers and snorted a few lines. "Hey, I want to show you this place. I think you'd like what's there."
"Oh yeah?" Cas asked his heart racing, was he finally going to figure out what he needed?
"Yeah man, you're a cool dude, you supply me with free coke. Plus I see you with a prostitute almost every night. You would really like what I have to offer."
"Then lead the way." Cas said throwing money onto the table.
They were about to cut down an alleyway when lights lit up the area. "Fuck man it's the cops!"
Before Cas could process anything he was being tackled to the ground. "What the fuck!" Cas yelled.
"Shut up and hands behind your back." Benny's voice growled behind him. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Will run off.
"Get off me!" Cas grunted and next thing he knew he was being pulled off the ground. "What the fuck Benny!" Cas yelled.
"Shut up and get in the car." Benny said and shoved him into the back seat.
They drove a couple blocks before Benny tossed a pair of handcuff keys in the back. "Sorry for the roughness. They told me to put on a show."
"For what?!" Cas yelled still pissed off.
"Easy tiger. I can smell the rut coming off you. I got a call from some detective upstairs. They told me to bring you home so you and Dean can have the week. But, they told me to put on a show since you're supposed to be some lowlife coke dealer."
"I-I get to go home?" Cas asked.
"Sure do cher." Benny grinned. "I'm going to drop you off at the station then clock out. You're going to sneak into my car and lay low in the back that way no one sees you then I'm going to drop you off up the street and you can make your way home alright?"
"Does Dean know I'm coming home?" Cas asked while rubbing his wrists where the cuffs dug into them.
"No, I was told this was a need to know thing. You know where the spare is don't ya?"
"Yes, unless he moved it."
"Good. Now let's get you to your mate."
Cas felt like a creep sneaking across backyards just to get to his. He jumped the lower part of the fence in the backyard and noticed lights were off downstairs except for the living room light. He crept around to the front yard careful not to be seen and grabbed the spare key hidden under a rock by the garage.
His heart was racing as he walked up to the door and slid the key in. He opened the door and quickly shut it. He closed his eyes and inhaled everything that smelt like home especially his mate.
"Cas?!" he heard Dean gasp and he opened his eyes.
"Hello Dean." Cas smiled.
"Oh my god, you're actually here!" Dean sobbed and ran for his mate.
"I'm here baby. I'm here."
"For how long?" Dean asked.
"Just for our cycle. I'm getting close though Dean, so close."
"I don't care. Just kiss me."
