In a dungeon, lit by a barred hole in the ceiling, stood Taran and the gang, all despondent because they were now prisoners for who knows how long or even if something worse was going to be done to them.
For minutes there was nothing but silence until one of them grew tired of remaining silent.
"Argh. This is your fault!" said Cera looking at Taran.
"Cera, don't say that." said Littlefoot.
"Well, it's true! You were supposed to watch over Hen Wen! You were supposed to protect her! And what did you do? You daydreamed that you were a great warrior! What a warrior you are! Now because of you we're stuck here!" said Cera.
"Well, at least they don't have Hen Wen, because, if they had Hen Wen, the Horned King would have found the Black Cauldron and destroyed us all with his army of deathless warriors." said Ruby.
Spike let out a moan of sadness at the thought of her friend, as they didn't know if she was okay or not.
"Oh, don't worry, Spike. I'm sure Hen Wen will be fine. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.
"What if me fly up hole above and call for help?" asked Petrie.
"As good an idea as that sounds, we don't know what might be out there. You could end up running into something worse than those dragons." said Chomper.
"Uh, yeah, better think another idea." said Petrie.
While his friends were chatting, Littlefoot focused his attention on his human friend who was hugging his knees with his head buried in them.
"Taran, are you all right?" asked Littlefoot.
"Cera is right. This is all my fault. How could I have been so stupid? I promised Dallben I wouldn't fail him, that I would take care of Hen Wen and look how we ended up. I am not a warrior. I am not a warrior." said Taran before bursting into tears.
Littlefoot didn't know how to comfort his friend, so he simply sat beside him.
"Don't worry. I'm sure we'll make it out of here and when we do, we'll find Hen Wen and accomplish our mission. All of us together. You may not be a warrior, but you are our friend." said Littlefoot with a smile.
Taran couldn't help but smile a little at the words of encouragement of his dinosaur friend.
It was then that they noticed something out of the corner of their eyes and as they turned their heads, they saw a stone tile tilt upwards before a sphere of light shot out of it.
Soon after, as the tile fell backwards, a blonde-haired girl with very long hair down and in a beautiful dress was seen emerging from the hole.
When she had most of her body out, the girl looked around with a smile.
"Hm. I thought I heard a noise in here." began the girl with an arched eyebrow before turning around to notice the group's presence. "Aw, was that you?"
"Yes, yes! I…" said Taran nervously getting up as the sphere of light floated around him and the gang.
"You're being held a prisoner, aren't you?" asked the girl.
"Well, it's not like we're here because we want to be." said Cera as she looked at the sphere of light in confusion.
"Oh, wow. Can you talk?" asked the girl slightly surprised.
"Well, yes. We can talk just like humans who can talk." said Ruby.
The girl chuckled before kneeling down in front of them.
"Aw, you are so cute." said the girl petting the head of Spike who returned the gesture by giving her a lick on the face, much to the girl's laughter.
"Were you locked up too?" asked Littlefoot.
"Well yes, I've been held against my will, too." said the girl getting up while Taran curiously touched the sphere of light, causing it to flash for an instant, startling him a little.
"It lights up!" said Taran in surprise as the girl giggled lightly.
"Why of course, it's magic!" said the girl as the sphere spun quickly around them.
"Wow. I've never seen anything like that." said Chomper.
Petrie, who had been following the sphere with his eyes, ended up getting dizzy.
"Me neither." said Petrie before collapsing to the ground from dizziness.
"Oh, I hate this place!" began the girl cleaning her dress a little as the sphere floated beside her. "I do hope there aren't any rats in here."
"Why? Do they scare you?" asked Ducky curiously.
"Oh, not that I really mind them you know, but they do jump out at one so!" said the girl.
"By the way. My name is Littlefoot, and these is Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, Chomper, Ruby and Taran" said Littlefoot introducing the others.
"Really a pleasure to meet you. I'm Princess Eilonwy." began the girl introducing herself. "And you, Taran? Are you a lord… or a warrior?"
"Hahaha. He? A warrior? Hahaha." said Cera laughing.
"Cera, that's not funny." said Chomper.
"Er, no, I'm, uh, an assistant pig-keeper." said Taran.
"Oh, what a pity." began Eilonwy with slight disappointment. "I was so hoping for someone who could help me escape! Oh well, if you want to come with me you may." said Eilonwy as the sphere of light went into the hole they came through.
"Can we?" asked Taran with a hopeful smile as he saw that they could escape the dungeon.
"Why yes! I just said you could." said Eilonwy stepping into the hole.
"We can, we can. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky as she and the others headed for the hole to escape.
"By the way, Eilonwy, why is the Horned King holding you prisoner?" asked Littlefoot as they crawled into the hole, ending up in a subway tunnel.
"Oh, that wicked, wicked king! You know, he stole me. He thought my bauble could tell him where some old cauldron was." said Eilonwy.
"And can it do that?" asked Ruby.
"Oh, no. It may be special, but it's not capable of finding lost objects." said Eilonwy.
"That's what he wanted my pig for." said Taran.
"Oh, yes! Your pig!" said Eilonwy thinking it was a joke.
"No joke." said Cera.
"That's right, Hen Wen has the ability to see the future." said Littlefoot.
"The Horned King wanted to use her to tell him where the Black Cauldron was." said Ducky.
"Luckily, we managed to get her out of here before they locked us in that dungeon." said Chomper.
"Oh! How interesting!" said Eilonwy laughing briefly, still in disbelief of the pig's abilities. "Well, you better stay close to me or you'll get lost." said Eilonwy as she and the others wandered down a tunnel, the sphere of light illuminating their way.
"Me heed that." said Petrie before quickly flying towards Eilonwy and landing on her shoulder, which the princess didn't mind.
Soon after, the sphere of light began to chase some rats in the area, scaring them and causing them to flee.
The sphere chased one rat past a small hole in the wall that led to another room.
"Your bauble!" said Taran.
"Oh, it's always chasing those rats!" said Eilonwy.
"Well that sounded like a lot of fun to me." said Cera with a smile.
They all looked through the hole to see the room on the other side that was being illuminated by the sphere so they could see better.
"A burial chamber!" said Eilonwy recognizing the room.
"What's that?" asked Littlefoot.
"Simply put, it's a tomb." said Eilonwy explaining the significance of the room.
"*Glup* T-T-Tomb?" asked Petrie trembling in fear, as did Spike.
"Yes, this could be the tomb of the great king who built this castle! Before the Horned King took it over." said Eilonwy.
"And why would he want to have his tomb in his own castle?" asked Chomper.
"Maybe it's that he didn't want to leave his home and that's why he asked to be left here in his home." said Ruby.
"Well, in my opinion, that's very nice. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.
"Too bad his home was invaded by someone wicked." said Cera.
Suddenly, because Eilonwy was leaning on Taran and he was leaning on the edge of the hole, the wall ended up giving way, causing Taran to fall to the ground along with a small part of the wall, creating a smokescreen in the process.
"*Cough* *Cough* Cough* Are you all right?" asked Eilonwy to Taran who was on the ground.
Taran looked at the princess with a frown at that question.
"Well, c'mon then! Help me have a look around." said Eilonwy looking across the tunnel through the room.
As Eilonwy continued walking, Taran stood there contemplating the burial chamber.
It was then that the gang noticed their human friend lagging behind.
"Taran?" asked Littlefoot as the boy walked over to the tomb there, with the gang at his side. "What are you doing?"
"He must have been a great warrior!" said Taran as he looked at the tomb.
"Yes, very nice. Now, can we keep walking?" asked Cera.
"I agree. This place really creeps me out. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.
"Hey, is it just me or is there something over that tomb? Because I think I see something over that tomb." said Ruby.
Curious, Taran walked all the way over to the tomb, pushed aside some cobwebs, and saw that what was on the tomb was…
"A sword!" said Taran wiping away some dust to reveal a sword.
"What's a sword doing here?" asked Chomper.
"Maybe he wanna sleep with it, like me when me wanna sleep with sleeping stick." said Petrie.
Taran was amazed to see such a magnificent sword as that, but his amazement and excitement was interrupted when they heard a strange sound.
Turning their heads to the side, they saw Eilonwy approaching, with her sphere of light diminishing in power, to the exit, from where a light could be seen, as well as where the sound was coming from.
The group approached the entrance to see what was making the noise when…
"This will please him!" said Creeper.
Peeking out, they saw Creeper open the door to another room.
"Piece of good luck this time! Hurry! In with it! Hurry!" said Creeper as a man approached pulling a cart whose contents were covered with a blanket. "He'll reward me for this!" said Creeper opening the other door to the room.
"Don't stop you weakling! Put your back into it!" demanded Creeper as the man pulled the cart, which was caught on an obstacle, when he got over it, the jolt caused a human arm to peek out from under the blanket.
When the man pulled the cart all the way in, Creeper, groaning from the effort, closed the doors, leaving the area clear.
"I wonder what it was they were carrying." said Cera.
"Something tells me I don't want to know. No, no, no." said Ducky.
Spike nodded in agreement.
"Me have seen too many horrible things today." said Petrie.
"Let's get out of here before they come back!" said Eilonwy.
Stealthily, they walked down the hallway until they reached the door, stopping for a moment and when they saw that no one was coming, they ran out until they were far enough away from the place.
Once they were far enough away, they took a rest stop while the sphere of light regained its previous luminosity.
It was then that Eilonwy noticed something Taran was carrying.
"Where did you get that sword?" asked Eilonwy pointing to the sword Taran held in his hands.
"Uh, back there." said Taran pointing with his thumb to the area they left behind.
"You mean…" began Eilonwy surprised at what he had done.
"Well, he's not going to use it!" said Taran excusing himself.
"Yeah, but that wasn't right." said Chomper.
"It's almost like stealing it, although you may be right that he's not going to use it anymore or something." said Ruby.
"And who knows? Maybe it could be useful for us to escape." said Littlefoot.
Suddenly, they began to hear some barking coming from another room and turned their gaze to where the sphere was headed, the light of which dimmed quite a bit, which was a doorway over some stairs from where voices could be heard on the other side of the door.
"You're making a horrendous mistake! I'm not a spy! I'm a bard!" said the voice of an older man.
Soon after, the group reached the door and peeked through the crack to see inside.
"I sing! Uh, I entertain! Oh, careful sir, these are the hands of an artist!" began an old man who was being tied to a raised wooden plank while a dog was chained in front of him. "Now, look, you seem an intelligent sort of chap to me! I assure you I had no idea who owned this castle! I just happened to be passing!" said the old man as the dog growled at him. "Oh, he's nice! What's his name?" asked the old man before whistling at the dog in a playful manner, only for the dog to try to lunge at him to bite him, making him scream in panic.
Fortunately, the man dragged the dog away as he left.
"Down! You don't realize who I am! I shall sing of your dastardly deed! I'm Fflewddur Fflam! Minstrel of minstrels! Balladeer to the grandest courts in all the land!" began the old man introduced as Fflewddur before a string of his small harp, which he wore hanging from his neck, broke, which he noticed immediately. "Well, so you've forgotten! I've sung in some of the finest courts!" said Fflewddur before another string broke. "Well I'm only waiting for an invitation!" said Fflewddur before the harp magically bounced. "Oh, shush! Why do you judge every word I say?"
It was then that Fflewddur noticed the skeleton of someone in the same posture in front of him and in minstrel attire along with a lute.
"Oh! What's that? Help!" cried Fflewddur desperate for help.
"Shh. Keep your voice down or you'll alert everyone." said Ducky suddenly appearing, startling the minstrel.
"Oh, hello!" began Eilonwy appearing shortly after. "We'll have you untied in a moment. I'm Princess Eilonwy."
"And me, Ducky and they are Littlefoot, Cera, Petrie, Spike, Chomper, Ruby and Taran." said Ducky.
"And you're in trouble, aren't you? Because you look like you're in trouble." said Ruby as Taran tried to untie his hands.
"Trouble? Don't you know where you are? Haven't you seen him?" asked Fflewddur.
"Trust me. We've seen enough to know perfectly well." said Cera.
Just as Taran untied his right hand, voices were heard from outside the cell.
"Pig-boy and his pets have escaped! Look in there!" said a man.
"Oh, no. They know we've escaped." said Littlefoot to the horror of the others.
"You?" asked Fflewddur before realizing the situation. "Oh! Great Berlin! Run! Run! Make haste!" said Fflewddur as the group ran off before shaking their heads in understanding. "Make haste? I've must save myself!" said Fflewddur before proceeding to untie the other hand.
As they fled across a stone bridge, Taran ended up tripping and falling, causing his sword to slip from his hands and fall to the bottom of the bridge.
"Taran, we have to leave before they catch up with us." said Littlefoot.
"Wait, I have to retrieve the sword." said Taran.
"That sword, rather than helping us is going to get us caught." said Cera.
It was then that they heard several footsteps approaching.
"I think they went through the passage!" said a man who was approaching the bridge with several armed men.
"We'll look over there." said another man as they ran across the bridge.
What they didn't know was that Taran and the gang had hidden under the bridge to avoid being seen.
They stayed there until they stopped hearing voices and footsteps.
"Do you think they'll be gone?" asked Chomper.
Petrie decided to peek out and look both ways to check.
"No problem. We can keep walking quietly." said Petrie.
"We would if it weren't for the fact that we're being searched by the men in the castle. Otherwise, we would." said Ruby as she and the others came out of hiding.
"Wait, where's Eilonwy?" asked Ducky.
"We have to find her before they find her." said Littlefoot.
When they reached the other end of the bridge, they stopped before walking stealthily, in case there was an enemy in sight as they searched for their friend.
"Princess! Princess Eilonwy!" Taran said calling out to the princess in a low voice as they moved forward.
As they came around a corner, they turned their heads to the side, only to find a man shouting in their faces, something that startled them greatly.
"Pig-boy! You little scut!" said the man before hitting him with the back of his hand, knocking him to the ground.
"Hey, mess with someone your own size, bully." said Cera before ramming the man, pushing him backwards.
"You filthy beast." said the man before trying to strike her with his axe, but Cera moved out of the way in time.
Littlefoot took the opportunity to push him off while Spike got behind his legs, causing him to fall backwards to the ground, but the man quickly got up to hit them with his axe.
Fortunately, both four-legged dinosaurs were quick enough to dodge the axe.
Petrie flew at their face and pecked at him several times before dodging out of the way to avoid being hit by the man's hand.
Chomper and Ruby charged at him from behind and gave him a double headbutt that sent him crashing to the ground.
"You don't mess with our friends. No, no, no." said Ducky.
Soon after, the man stood up, looking more furious than before.
"Meddling creatures!" exclaimed the man angrily before he began swinging his axe back and forth in an attempt to kill them, but, thanks to their small size, they were able to dodge the attacks.
At that moment, Taran raised his head to see his friends fighting the man bravely, but then, the man stood in front of Littlefoot and raised the axe to kill him.
Wanting to protect him, Taran quickly looked around for something to help when his gaze fell on the sword.
The man swiftly swung the axe down towards the longneck, who froze as he saw that he wouldn't have time to dodge it.
Suddenly, Taran stood in the middle with his sword drawn and in a blocking position and the moment the axe impacted against the sword, the sword began to glow and, to the gang's surprise, shattered the axe like it was nothing.
The man stared in shock as his axe had been destroyed before throwing away the remains and looking fearfully at the sword that was being pointed at him.
"No… No, no… No…" said the man backing away slowly before breaking into a run.
Both Taran and the gang were shocked as they looked at the sword, which was still glowing.
"Did you know it could do that?" asked Chomper.
"No, I didn't know that." said Taran.
"What kind of sword that?" asked Petrie.
"Maybe it's the same as Eilonwy's bubble and it's a magic sword." said Ruby.
"That's amazing." said Littlefoot in amazement.
"It sure is magic. Yep, yep, yep. It smashed that man's weapon easily." said Ducky as Spike nodded.
"I'm going to like that sword after all." said Cera.
"A magic sword." said Taran before he started smiling and laughing from excitement.
By the time the sword's glow ceased, Taran was swinging the sword while still laughing.
"Careful. We don't know what he's capable of." said Littlefoot being careful as Taran continued to swing the sword with glee.
"Are you all right?" asked Eilonwy coming to the area and looking confused at Taran's behavior.
"Eilonwy, you're okay!" began Ducky before jumping towards her to give her a hug. "You're safe."
"Of course I am, but I was really worried about you." began Eilonwy as she placed Ducky on Spike's back. "What happened?"
"It's a long story." said Littlefoot.
"We'll tell you later. I'm going to get you out of here!" said Taran grabbing Eilonwy's hand and leading her in one direction with the others following.
The group ran through the inside of the castle when...
"There they are!" said a man.
"Quick! Up here!" said Taran before the group ran up some nearby stairs, followed by several armed men.
Suddenly, Eilonwy screamed as a man appeared in front of them with his sword held high as he approached, but Taran blocked his sword with his own, not only destroying it, but catapulting him over him into the men behind them, knocking them all down.
"Well done, Taran!" said Chomper.
"Taran, the sword!" exclaimed Eilonwy in amazement at the sight of the sword's power.
"Like I said, it's a long story." said Littlefoot.
"Great Belin!"
Hearing that, the group tilted their heads up to see Fflewddur on an upper floor being chased by a dog.
"Help! Murder! Get down!" said Fflewddur jumping from the edge and grabbing onto a rope, swinging in the process, but the dog jumped at him and grabbed the back of his pants with his teeth.
"Should we help him?" asked Ruby curiously.
"There's no time. We have to go." said Taran before the group resumed their escape.
Later, the group passed a room full of barrels.
"Wait, Taran." began Cera causing the boy to stop. "What do you say if we give those guys a little goodbye present?" asked Cera pointing to the barrels lying around.
"Good idea, Cera. Go ahead, guys!" said Taran as the others kept running, before making the sword glow and thrusting it into the barrels, leaving holes through which spurts of wine came out, covering the floor with it.
Soon after, several men arrived in the room, only to have them slip on the spilled wine before Taran closed the door with a small laugh.
As the group ran through the uncovered areas of the castle, several surrounding men watched them from high steps.
"Get them!" shouted one man as a man threw a spear at them from above, but missed.
"That way!" said another man as a pair threw their spears at them, but they missed as well.
"Taran!" said Eilonwy just as they saw Creeper with several men behind him.
"There they are!" said Creeper pointing at them before the group turned to flee in another direction.
"Bad guys following us everywhere!" said Petrie.
"We must find the exit and quickly!" said Littlefoot.
When they reached an area, they saw several men heading toward them.
"Well, it's not this way! No, no, no!" said Ducky before the group took off running in another direction.
The group kept running as they had several men behind them.
They finally stopped when they came upon the exit, but unfortunately, the drawbridge was up, leaving the place as a dead end.
"We're trapped!" said Cera in horror as they turned around to see an army of men running towards them with Creeper in front.
"C'mon! Get them!" said Creeper.
"Oh no! Taran!" said Eilonwy in horror at the desperate situation as Taran stood with his sword ready to fight though you could tell he was also worried about the situation.
"Ha, ha, ha! We've got you now, pig boy!" said Creeper before a man behind him threw his axe.
"Watch out!" shouted Littlefoot before pushing Eilonwy out of the way of the axe that embedded itself right where she was standing before.
"Taran, do something!" shouted Chomper as several weapons lunged towards them, sticking into the wood behind them as they dodged them by moving back and forth.
"Before we turn into moorish skewers!" said Ruby ducking to the side to avoid an incoming spear.
Petrie let out a scream of terror before ducking quickly to dodge an incoming axe.
Taran, while dodging an incoming spear, stumbled and crashed backwards into a wheel.
It was then that Littlefoot saw that there were chains connected to the drawbridge that were attached to the wheel.
"Taran, use your sword! Cut the chains!" said Littlefoot before dodging an incoming spear.
Taran looked behind him and understanding the longneck's plan, he made the sword glow before striking the chain with it.
Both Creeper and the men stopped as they saw the glow of the sword that was destroying the chain until it was completely severed.
Creeper gasped in horror before holding his neck, as he sensed what his master would do to him if he found out about it.
"Make way! Make way!"
Everyone turned to see Fflewddur running for the exit with the dog still chasing him.
"Step aside! I've never hurt you!" began Fflewddur as Creeper tried to stop him, fearing it would step on him or something. "Get, get out of my way!" said Fflewddur as Creeper ducked as he covered his head, expecting the worst, but Fflewddur ended up jumping over him, much to his joy, which was short-lived as the dog stepped on him with its paws before continuing to chase its prey.
In the end, the dog managed to catch him, but could only catch the back of his pants.
"Let me down you brute!" said Fflewddur kept running to try to escape his grasp, dragging the dog with him in the process as he put his strength into stopping him.
Just then, the drawbridge lowered completely, leaving a completely open exit.
"Run, guys! Run!" said Taran as he and the others ran across the drawbridge.
Soon after, the barrier at the entrance began to lower.
"Don't fall! Oh, for God's sake!" cried Fflewddur desperate to get out before the barrier closed or he was caught.
Even the dog was worried that the barrier would catch him.
Finally, Fflewddur gathered enough strength to run all the way to the other side just as the barrier came down completely, though it tore his pants in the process, leaving a hole where the dog had grabbed him.
"Why didn't you tell me you had a magic sword?!" asked Fflewddur as he ran out of the place.
The dog leaned against the wooden bars before exhaustion caught up with him and he passed out.
AN: That's all for now.
By the way, I would like to tell you that, when my sister was born and my parents were deciding the name, I was watching that movie, more specifically when the female character appeared and that's when I suggested to name her after her, which they all accepted.
PS: I am from Spain, so you can see how to say her name here so you can understand it.
