Hello all!

Another chapter down before the of so much fun of the Battle Trials! But what strange happenings will take place with the Power Sword? Who knows!... Well actually I do, but anyway...

Hope people are enjoying this story, as I do plan on making it one of my more longer fics, I do kinda want to try and focus more on character development, such as Izuku's slowly growing confidence as well as his personal relationships with his classmates.

Especially with a certain pink-skinned young woman ;)

I'll be honest, the initial plan for this chapter was going to be on the interactions between Inko and Mina, and then Izuku meeting Mina's father, but I wanted to get to the battle trails before I get to the meat and bones of that interaction, or at least a future one.

Hope you enjoy this chapter and please feel free to leave comments and reviews, I always love hearing stuff from my readers. Also the relationship has been announced :)

Review time:

Cookie Warlord: Honestly, his canon personality at the start of the series is what made me think that having Izuku inherit the Power sword and the Secrets of Greyskull would make for a fun fic :) plus if it's 80's He-man, all the better. His "companion" will be brought in later, and I do hope people aren't going to freak out with how I'll portray it. It will be Battle Cat, but not "the" Battle Cat, if that makes sense.

As for ol' Skeletor, It is going to be a combination... He will have elements of the classic 80's "bumbling boob" bone head we all know and love, but he's not going to be the same guy that is known to the fans of the show. Troops are still up in the air, but I'll say this in regards to a sort of timeline for this fic.

This story takes place YEARS after Prince Adam and Teela's son took up the mantle and became "He-ro". So any of the original cast and characters won't be around sadly. But I will do my best to make references to them :)

Chapter 3

One's Confirmation

"Damn it, Damn it, DAMN IT!"

The dull thud of his fist hitting the giant punching bag within his somewhat packed-up room echoed in his ears as Katsuki Bakugo panted hard, the semi-faded and crude sketch of his current… well… most prolonged headache just barely hanging from the barrage of punches the blonde teenager had unleashed on it.

It had only been two days starting at UA, and already things had not been going his way.

First was the fact that the useless Deku had somehow made it into the hero course; not only that but showing off his clearly hidden quirk near the end of the dumb exercises had really set him off. Why didn't that hobo asshole allow him to remind Deku of his place? That, and to get some damn answers as to why the useless nerd had hidden his stupid quirk all these years.

He had the right to know; after all, he was Katsuki fucking Bakugo, and no one makes a fool out of him!

Even so, that teacher was on his shit list too. How dare he threaten to expel him if he 'acts up' again! The underground pro hero should be able to recognize how great he was and how he would be the next number one hero! None of those extras had what it takes to beat him.

As the teenager finally began to catch his breath, his red eyes stared hard at the image of the one person he despised the most since the nerd dared offer his hand to him after Bakugo had fallen from a shitty log. How *dare* he look down upon the greatness that is Katsuki Bakugo.

With one last open palm strike to the bag, igniting his sweat and releasing a small explosion that knocked the punching bag off its hook and hard against the cement wall of his basement bedroom. The explosive teenager snarled as the small paper quickly burned up into ashes, as he knew what he needed to do.

The first chance he got to fight Deku, he would show everyone just how great he is.

Mina was smiling to herself, her golden irises looking about the relatively small but quite adorable apartment that her classmate had brought her to. Despite how long it took the young man to suggest just hanging out at his place to wait for her dad, Mina appreciated the gesture.

It didn't matter, though, considering how timid and shy Midoriya had been during these past two days of classes, she could tell it was far from his comfort zone. As she heard the kettle in the kitchen whistle loudly and the sounds of fine china being prepared, Mina decided to do a little snooping to learn more about her new friend.

Sliding off the couch silently, the pink-skinned woman slowly made her way around the living room, her gaze trailing over various books within a few medium-sized bookcases and some of the very few and far-between pictures of a younger Midoriya. The first thing she noted that of the few baby pictures she could find was the fact it was a small family. While most of them were of just Izuku and his mother, who Mina could instantly see where he got most of his looks from, she did spy a single picture of what she would believe to be his father.

A rather plain-looking man, typical Japanese business type, though the curly out-of-control black hair was a dead giveaway from what her classmate had gotten from him. What was odd, though, was that it was the only picture of him, with what looked like a few months old Izuku (who had a shocking amount of his green curls already at that age) and his mother, who was quite beautiful, and can see where all the 'green' came from.

As she walked along the walls, she took more notice of the changes in the two people who resided in the apartment, particularly around the age of Izuku being a toddler dressed up in an All Might onesie… which Mina may or may not have taken a quick picture for future teasing.

However, her mind quickly returned to how both people had changed over the years, how the slim and young mother slowly shrank over the years and had grown a little more to be friendly, 'rotund'. However, despite the change in Midoriya's mother's physical appearance, she could still see the bright smile the woman would show in the photos, content with her life.

Izuku's, on the other hand, wasn't the case,

As she saw the few pictures of him growing up, she could tell he was a bit of a 'twig', the clothes he was often pictured in were much bigger than his body, hanging off him as if Izuku was trying to either be like some kind of hood in a U.S. urban area, which wasn't true considering his personality and the only other thought that came into her mind was that he might have done so to hide himself. She should know, as she had done so a few times in her younger years when the bullying about her pink skin and horns was somewhat numerous.

But there was also his smile, the rather forced one she used to have on the more challenging days of her youth.

However, what was genuinely bugging her was the lack of a particular object in any of the photos. You'd think that the darn thing would be seen in any of the pictures she looked at for how important it was to activate his quirk. Heck, it was rare for him to be without it at school, and he had even been wearing it out in public when he first came across her at the station.

That's when Mina's amber eyes slowly turned towards the scabbard and sword, currently resting against the wall close to the hallway leading to the bedrooms. Slowly making her way towards it, she had always been curious about what it would be like to hold a sword, something from her days pretending to be a 'magical knight' from the cartoons she watched as a young girl. Bending over, she slowly went to grab it, not knowing that Izuku was walking in from the kitchen at that moment.

"S-sorry for the wait, I couldn't find the cook… ies…." Izuku had begun to say, placing the tray with tea and snacks down on the living room table before slowly looking up and his voice dying as he looked upon Mina, turned towards him holding his sword.

They stayed like that for a few moments before Izuku quickly rose up, pointing his finger at her with his face completely in shock, "Y-Y-Y-YOU CAN LIFT IT?!"

"Was… was I not supposed to?" Mina asked slowly, feeling slightly guilty, considering it was technically his quirk and personal property. It would be as if someone had manhandled her xenomorph collection without her permission. She was about to apologize to the young man before noticing that he hadn't answered her question and was now muttering to himself at such an incredible speed and in a soft voice that she doubted even Jiro could understand him. Mina remained silent as Izuku pulled a notebook out of nowhere and immediately began to scribble down his thoughts, moving towards the couch and sitting on it without looking away from the pages. It was fascinating to watch as the pink-skinned woman slowly made her way towards him, sword and scabbard still in her hands before she plopped down right beside him, jolting him out of his little world and back into reality, turning his head towards the interruption and his face exploding into a deep red blush from how close she was to him. Mina giggled gently as she leaned closer, looking down at the opened notebook, "Whatcha got there, Midori?"

"I… I…" Izuku began to stutter, his body quaking slightly so that it was hard for Mina to not notice. Slightly moving back a little to give him some space, Izuku slowly calmed down, clearing his throat, "S-sorry…."

"No worries! I didn't mean to make you nervous or freak out about lifting this up." Mina said as she gingerly held the object in her hand, "Not everyone likes it when I get nosey."

"I-It's fine, honest…." Izuku chuckled slightly, his cheeks still red, "B-but yea, I'm still shocked you can lift it up… my mom tried too, even with her telekinesis quirk, and barely was able to lift it a few centimeters off the ground." He smiled gently at her, "I-I have to ask… does it feel heavy? Like more than what it looks like?"

"Hmmm… honestly? It feels kinda light." Mina said as she moved the scabbard and sword up and down, "Like, there is some weight to it, but nothing out of the ordinary. Why?"

"That's how it feels when I hold it as well, interesting…" Izuku spoke gently, scratching his chin before jotting it down in his notebook.

"Is that some kind of quirk journal or something, Midori?"

"Huh? O-Oh… yes, it's something I use to keep track of my progress, what I need to work on… that sort of thing." Izuku closed the book after that, staring at the cover of it for a few moments.

"Oh? That sounds awesome!" Mina smiled brightly, bouncing slightly in her seat, noticing how much information she could see he had on his own quirk alone, "I'd imagine you could fill an entire notebook with just our class alone!"

"E-Eh?" Izuku turned towards Mina with the return of his blush on his cheeks before slowly looking away and his head downcast, shaking slightly as he took a few moments to give her an answer, "M-Maybe?"

Mina stopped bouncing, confused at his response, and raised her eyebrow, "Wait… DO you have a notebook for our class… ALREADY?!"

Izuku was silent for a few moments before exhaling a deep breath and reaching over the side of the couch where his school bag currently was resting against the arm, digging out said book and handing it to her, "I-it's not complete, considering I haven't had time to fully write down everything… still a lot of questions to answer, but I really don'twanttodisturbanyone-."

While Izuku had begun to mutter, something she and the entire class had witnessed a couple of times whenever he got nervous about something. The way he was trembling as he held out the book to her was also alarming to the pink-skinned woman, slowly taking it, and as he continued to speak with such a frightening pace, Mina slowly opened the book and started to skim through it to try and find her entry.

Admittedly, she was kinda worried about what he did write down, considering she barely knew the guy, but he had shown to be one of the few of her male classmates to openly reprimand Mineta a few times in class during the second day, albeit not as bombastic as Iida tended to be. As she turned another page, she finally came upon her own entry and slowly began to read it.

Izuku, still muttering up a storm, hadn't noticed how Mina had been slowly bringing the book closer to her face, with her black sclera eyes widening and a slight dusting of purple on her cheeks.

"Midoriya."

Using his full last name had brought the green-haired young man out of his muttering, slowly turning towards his classmate, whose face was currently obscured by his notebook, "Y-Yes?"

"This is…AMAZING!"

Welp, this was it, any chance of a normal school life entirely out the window; no doubt word would spread amongst the class, and Izuku would be once again an outcast and called creepy and-

Hold on.

"H-Huh? A-amazing?"

"Totally! You were a little off about my current limits for my acid viscosity, but you nearly got everything else right!" Mina beamed a smile at him, moving closer and holding the book between them. Izuku froze as he could feel her body press up against his own, doing his best not to faint from the sudden contact or do anything that would be seen as 'untoward'.

As Mina held the book between them, she did take stock of just how built he was underneath his shirt, confirming what Kirishima had told her the previous night, but she was too focused on just how intelligent Izuku was! A mere two days since they started school, and he already figured out her quirk?! That was insane!

Admittedly, she was a little put off initially, but that quickly washed away the more she read. And this wasn't even a completed entry?

As if on cue and unbeknown to the pair of teenagers, Inko had walked in while looking through her purse, her voice calling out, "Izuku, I'm home! Sorry I couldn't be here when you got home, but Mitsuki had asked for help with a … rec… i…pe…"

Inko's eyes were emotionless, seeing her baby boy with a rather attractive young woman cuddling close to one another while looking at one of his notebooks. While the girl had looked up with her exotic eyes in slight surprise, Izuku's were wide open, and his irises were pinpricks, like a deer caught in headlights, with his face growing paler as he looked at his mother.

"...don't mind me kids, you two keep having fun, and I'll be back later!"

"MOM!"

The bell rang loudly as everyone in class 1-A began to get into their seats, it was already the end of the week, and while some of the classes seemed rather mundane, like their English and mathematics classes, Izuku had been enjoying the fact that they were being taught by Pro Heroes.

The little tidbits he had learned during the lessons definitely made it into his notebooks, but what he was currently working on during lunch was his entries of his classmates. Normally, he would have waited until after classes to do so, but he had chosen to remain in their classroom during his lunch hour today for one reason.

The reason being Katsuki Bakugo.

The blonde had grown more irritated over the last few days, even more so than he did back at Aldera after finding out both he and Izuku had made it to UA, and honestly, had it not been thanks to the surprising aid of Ashido, Uraraka, and Iida being around him during the breaks, who knew what the blonde was going to do.

Did Izuku think Bakugo would be stupid enough to try something at UA?

Honestly, he didn't know…

Regardless, his mind was more focused on his current entry, who was giggling from a story being told by their invisible classmate, Toru Hagakure. He had noticed that every once in a while, Ashido would look in his general direction for a moment and then smile brightly at him, almost like she was inviting him to come to join the conversation. Which was just an odd (and embarrassing) thing for the green-haired young man causing him to blush somewhat.

His thoughts soon returned to the evening a few days ago after explaining to his mother why Ashido was at their home to his mother. While he could see his mother taking the explanation to heart and he was truthful that he was simply helping out someone in need, Izuku could see an odd glint in her eyes while she and his pink-skinned classmate began to talk and have tea, with some stories about his younger years making him groan and hide his face.

Just as he was about to continue to finish his work, the door to the class slammed open, nearly causing Izuku and a few others to shout in surprise, only to be stopped when a rather familiar voice echoed out into the classroom, "I AM HERE! ENTERING THE ROOM LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"

Oh, by various gods, nooooooo…

Izuku watched as the number one hero in Japan proudly walked into the room, wearing his second silver age costume with a billowing cape behind him as he entered, that same smile he always wore to brighten up the people around him to show they had nothing to fear.

'... there's a lot of fear behind that smile…'

Izuku started to breathe a little heavier, the pain in his chest returning hard as he tried to follow the breathing exercises he had picked up from the internet regarding to controlling his emotions. Whatever All Might was saying was a muffled mess as everyone around him focused more on the famed hero before them. Before long, the sudden movement of his classmates stirred him out of his semi-panic attack. After he took a few more deep breaths, he noticed that everyone had left, and there was a single case with his student number beside the podium, along with the one person Izuku really didn't want to deal with right now.

All Might.

"Young Midoriya, are you alright? I'm shocked you weren't the first out the door with your costume case." The blond teacher raised an eyebrow, taking hold of the case and bringing it towards his young pupil, placing it on his desk and watching as Izuku slowly began to shrink down more, "Actually, it's good that you did stay behind, as I wish to speak with you briefly."

Izuku began to shake as his head was lowered, unable to look up as he could feel the threat of tears starting to form at the corners of his eyes. What was he supposed to do? The number one hero, the man he had looked up to for practically all his life, had been one of the nails in the coffin of his dreams to be a hero. Wasn't once enough already? Why in the world did he want to speak to-

"I am truly very sorry."

"Huh?" Izuku's eyes shot up, widening even more and making him lift off his chair, letting it clatter to the ground as when he saw All Might, the most powerful hero bowing before him, "A-All Might?! W-what are-"

"What I said, back on the rooftop that day…" All Might began to speak, making Izuku instantly quiet so he could listen, "I really should have explained myself better then, but at the same time, I was a hypocrite. Telling a quirkless young man to give up on his dreams when that same young man showed more heroic spirit than even I that day."

The number one hero slowly rose up, a slight smirk on his lips, "As much as I would like to speak with you at length, our time is very short, so I'll just say this. Despite you having your power now, you truly embraced one of the most important aspects of being a hero."

"The importance of self-sacrifice."

Izuku's eyes began to water even more; did he dare hope? The voices of all those that told him he couldn't follow his dreams, from the sad wails of his mother when he was four to the crass and bombastic shouts of Bakugo, echoed in his mind as Izuku continued to listen.

"Your courage that day, to face a foe without any powers, inspired me to act that day; you reminded me of that important reason why I am a hero and chose this life. Even without your current powers, I wish I could have told you this then… but, Izuku Midoriya, you too can be a hero!"

The waterworks flowed freely now upon hearing those words; Izuku nearly crumpled to the ground as All Might quickly moved to hold him up, "Now, before you flood the school, Young Midoriya. You should calm yourself and head off to change into your costume for your first heroics class!"

The tears immediately stopped, Izuku gasping as he looked at the case and quickly moved his hand to the handle to lift it up, wiping his eyes with his arms to clear his vision, "Y-your right, All Might, a-and thank you…."

"I hope that during my time teaching here, I can make it up to you for everything… But that we can discuss later!" All Might puffed up his chest, his hands on his hips, "Oh! That reminds me, Aizawa had already informed me of your request, and you will need to use your 'quirk' for the exercise, but you can hold off until it is your turn, alright?"

"O-oh! O.k. All Might, thank you!" Izuku beamed at his teacher with a bright smile, failing to realize All Might's odd tone when he mentioned his powers. And as the young man quickly made his way out of the classroom, All Might kept smiling, idly moving a hand to his left side where his wound was, grunting softly from the shot of pain just barely touching it had caused.

'I hope he doesn't freak out too much later, but I will keep his secret as he has kept mine….'

As Izuku had left the classroom and rushed down the hallway towards the changing rooms, down the opposite hallway, and around the corner out of sight, a figure rested against the wall, their eyes wide in shock as they gently whispered to themself.

"Quirkless?"
