Some Girls Are Scary

Percy laid on his bunk, his eyes lazy as he watched the TV in front of him. For some reason, Travis had been bugging him to watch Full Metal Alchemist and now he'd finally come around to watching the show. For some reason, he couldn't help but think how similar Winry was to Annabeth, they were both blondes and obsessed with a certain career occupation. It was like Annabeth but if her dad was Hephaestus or something.

The cold air massaged his body, his muscles were fully relaxed. Aside from a pair of blue boxers, he wasn't wearing anything else, he'd gotten pretty comfortable with not wearing clothes in his cabin. He was a lean muscular guy, there wasn't any reason for him to worry about how he looked.

The door to his cabin was unlocked, but most people didn't just walk into his cabin without knocking. The only person he knew who would barge into his cabin was Annabeth and she'd seen him naked countless times.

Percy stared at the screen. Alchemy seemed cool, he just wasn't sure about the whole transmutation circle stuff, he couldn't imagine being limited by a circle. He was happy with his magical powers as they were, his powers alone were strong enough to destroy an entire city if he really put his mind to it.

Percy heard someone yelling outside, but he thought nothing of it. Plenty of screaming happened around camp. Unlike normal summer camps, Camp Half-Blood was full of screaming demigods, explosions, and other stuff that would've given Child Protective Services an aneurysm.

It was about a minute later when someone started pounding on his door. Percy jumped out of fright. He looked over at the door, it shook as whoever it was on the other side continued pounding on the door.

Then he heard Leo's voice, "PERCY, PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR!"

"What the fuck…" Percy muttered as he climbed out of his bunk.

He walked to the door and opened it, finding a hysterical Leo on the other side. Leo's hair was pointing up in different directions, his skin was stained with black oil, and his shirt was scorched along the edges with a decent sized tear at the bottom. Percy wrinkled his nose, Leo smelled like oil, smoke, and gunpowder.

"What is it, Leo?" Percy asked with mild irritation, "You scared the shit out of me!"

"You gotta let me in, man, please!" Leo begged, "Please!"

"Fine, come in!" Percy moved to the side.

Leo charged in like Kronos himself was after him. Percy shut the door and turned to the energetic son of Hephaestus with a questioning look. He didn't even care that he was undressed, Leo didn't even seem to care.

"So, what has you all worked up?" Percy asked.

"Dude, I was trying to work on this project right, you know, that motorcycle that I showed you a few weeks ago?"

Percy vividly remembered a motorcycle being built in cabin nine. Apparently, Leo was building one for himself since he didn't have a horse or anything like that. Last time he saw it, Leo was working on some issue with the engine.

"Yeah, what about it?" Percy asked.

"Well, I was running a test on the new engine I made and well…it kind of exploded." Leo said.

That definitely explained Leo's smell and the scorch marks on his shirt, it was like he'd been bombed.

"Is anyone hurt?" Percy asked with genuine concern.

"No, not at all!" Leo said a little too quickly.

"Then what are you freaking out about?" Percy asked, "I mean, if no one got hurt then it was just another failed experiment, Chiron won't ground you for that."

"That's not why I was running." Leo said with a dark look, "It's because I was stitching Calypso's dress yesterday and I forgot I left it there. When the engine exploded, well, it kind of destroyed her dress."

Percy stared at him for a moment, "Does she know?"

"Yes." Leo said meekly.

"VALDEZ!" A certain angry demititan's voice screamed outside, "I'M GOING TO FIND YOU!"

"You have to help me, please!" Leo begged desperately.

"Relax, I don't think she knows you're in here." Percy tried to calm him down.

That's when a stern set of knocks started at the door. Percy and Leo both looked over with deer in the headlights expression. Leo's legs trembled while his face paled, the poor guy looked like he was about to vomit out of fear.

"Go hide." Percy whispered to Leo before walking over to the front door. He waited until Leo stuffed himself under a bunk.

When Percy opened the door, he was met by an angry Calypso. Her eyes were full of uncaged fury while she breathed heavily, like she'd ran around camp looking for Leo. Instead of a dress, she wore a pair of ripped jeans and a camp shirt.

"Hey, Calypso." Percy said with a grin, he leaned against the doorway.

"Hey, Percy, have you seen Leo anywhere? I'm looking for him." Calypso said.

"Uh, no, I haven't seen him." Percy lied.

Calypso stomped her foot, "Where is that boy?"

Percy closed the door as she stomped off. He sighed and leaned against the door, he understood Leo's fear. He'd had to take refuge in some pretty odd places when Annabeth was angry at him.

Leo crawled out from the bunk, a thankful expression on his face.

"Percy, you are the fucking man!" Leo cheered, "I owe you."

"Yeah, well, you might wanna—"

"I FOUND YOU!"

Percy and Leo spun to look at one of the windows and found Calypso wearing a murderous expression.

"Run!" Leo screamed.

He and Percy burst through the door of cabin three. Percy broke into a sprint, he heard Leo's terrified screams behind him while Calypso shouted at them. Percy had no idea where he was going but all he knew was that he refused to get caught by Calypso.

When Percy looked over his shoulder, he could only watch with horror as Calypso tackled Leo into the dirt. Leo thrashed about and fought tooth and nail to break Calypso's grasp but the demititan wasn't deterred, she was going to have his head. She looked up and glared at him.

"You're next!" She screamed.

Percy sprinted away from the scene, he couldn't be anywhere near Calypso, otherwise she'd grab him and torture him.

He looked around and sure enough, his eyes settled on cabin six. The Athena cabin would provide some relief from the menace that was Calypso. He ran towards the cabin and jogged up the steps. He stopped in front of the stuffed owl hanging above the doorway. He knocked rapidly, hoping that someone was inside.

He waited for a few seconds before knocking again. He looked over his shoulder constantly, he expected to see Calypso any second.

The door to cabin six opened, revealing a frustrated Annabeth.

"What do you want, Seaweed Brain?" She asked with a glare.

"You have to help me, Calypso just snatched up Leo and now she's trying to grab me!" He explained in a frantic voice.

Annabeth stared at him then she motioned for him to follow her. He couldn't have felt any more relieved. When the door shut behind him, he looked around and couldn't help but wonder where the rest of her siblings were. The tables were empty, he didn't see anyone browsing the shelves, and the computers were still running their screensavers. When he got to the bunks, he found Annabeth was alone there too.

"Sorry I bothered you." He said sincerely.

He looked at her bunk, she wasn't working on her blueprints. He didn't see the signature blue paper that came with blueprints nor did he see the pencils she used for drawing. Her laptop was closed, so she wasn't working digitally either. He didn't see any books either so he doubted she was studying.

Then Annabeth pointed somewhere to her right. Percy followed her finger and found she was staring at a cage big enough to fit a god.

"New trap for capture the flag." She said, "Follow me."

Percy did as she said and followed her. He peered at the cage and admired the craftsmanship, it looked strong enough. He couldn't fit his hand in between the bars so breaking out that way was impossible.

Then he felt Annabeth's hand on his back. Next thing he knew, he was pushed forward and into the cage. He turned and tried to run out but Annabeth slammed the cage door shut and locked it.

"Annabeth!" He yelled as he pounded on the bars.

Annabeth wore a sinister smile as she leaned in, "I'm kind of glad you showed up, I needed a test subject for this cage."

"Fuck!" He knew he should've hidden in cabin one.

"Oh, don't be mad, Percy." She chided, "It's not like I'm going to torture you or anything."

Percy watched as she strolled into the bookshelves. When she came back, she was holding a textbook on calculus. His eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.

"No, you're not serious, are you?" He asked.

Annabeth's grin told him everything he needed to know. He almost wished he'd just let Calypso catch him.
