Chapter 8: Toon Island
The Warners, the general, and the solders walked down the streets of Toon Island. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot could tell it was taken care of very well, since many of the building and homes that were around were in pretty good shape. Many of the civilizations of the island stared at the Warners.
Before long, they reached a building that was heavily guarded. "They're with us," General Marius told the guards, before they let them in. After walking through some narrow hallways, they went through a door which led to an office. Inside was the Prime Minister herself, who was a rabbit toon. "Prime minister," General Marius said as he and the other soldiers bowed, as the Warner's looked on in confusion, "These are the Warner brothers, and the Warner sister." The Warners then made silly faces to present themselves. The Prime Minister observed and came to the realization. "Well uhh, a rare breed we got here," said said, "It's a pleasure to meet you three. And general, can I speak to you privately?" General Marius nodded.
The two went outside the office. "Why did you bring them here?" the Prime Minister asked. "They were stowaways and they're related to the Warners who live on this island," replied the general, "I brang them to you because not only are these guys a rare breed, but because I don't know what to do until we can be ready to bring them to their parents." The Prime Minister sighed, "Ugh, you seriously don't know what you are doing sometimes. Anyway, let them roam around town for a bit and when the time is right, we'll introduce them to their parents. Even if they have a zany to the max reputation, I'm sure the population won't mind them."
General Marius and the Prime Minister suddenly heard a lot of ruckus in the office. When they entered back in, they saw the Warners with marching band equipment and playing whatever it was that they were playing. The soldiers were very confused but watched anyway. "Ehem!" the Prime Minister said. The Warners stopped. "Me and General Marius here were discussing how you guys should go around Toon Island to keep yourselves busy for a bit," explained the Prime Minister, "And later on, we might need to talk to you guys about something and to possibly meet some others." "Hmm, interesting," Dot said, finding what the Prime Minister said a little strange. "Well, in that case, we better start doing things," said Yakko, as he and his siblings ran out of the office and soon out of the building.
"I'll be honest, I don't know what I am doing," the Prime Minister said with uncertainty, "We know nothing about them and what zany to the max antics they have brought along with them. Though, if their parents are pretty tame, so should they, right?" "We can only hope Prime Minister," General Marius replied.
Around Toon Island, the Warners went. Despite their destination being Pennsylvania, they figured they'd stay for a bit. To no surprise, they were up to being zany to the max. The others toons would very quickly find the Warner children very annoying.
For many hours, the Warners went from store to store and toon to toon. To make a long story short, it didn't take long for a lot of toons to make complaints about the Warner children. It especially didn't help that nobody knew much or even saw the Cartoonus Characterus that often at all. The only ones they knew were the Warner's parent, which the Warner siblings still didn't know about yet.
At the Prime Minister's office, at least 6 or 7 shop owners and other toons complained about how they found the Warner children horrendous. "They were causing nothing but a ruckus in my shop!" said one toon. "I was just leaving after a day of work at the dockside, and then those kids just came in and harassed me until I was able to somehow outsmart them," said another toon. "With all do respect Prime Minister, I think something should be done about those toons," said another.
"Okay, settle down everyone," the Prime Minister said, "We'll deal with them. Before we go though, does anybody recall where they were last seen?" "Last place I saw them was Lucky's Dairy Bar," replied one of the toons. "Well in that case, Lucky's Dairy Bar we go," the Prime Minister said.
By now the sun was starting to set and came on the bright neon lights of places. It looked quite beautiful to see, combined with the sunset in the background. Almost everyone was out and about.
As for the Warners, they were in Lucky's Dairy Bar giving the patrons a hard time. "Can you 3 just keep your mouths shut? Is that too much to ask?" snapped a Bull toon. The Warners thought about it and replied with, "Yes!" The Bull toon growled, got up from his chair and got ready to run into the Warners. The Warners then dressed up as bullfighters, as they all held up red blankets. The bull then ran towards the Warners but the Warners got out of the way just in time. The Bull crashed through the table and wall where the Warners once were. Yakko grinned, "Heh, I guess he really-"
Before Yakko could finish his sentence, other patrons grabbed the Warners and threw them out of Lucky's Dairy Bar, having had enough of them. One of the employees put a sign up that said: No More Customers! The door then slammed and locked. "I don't think anyone on this island really likes us," said Wakko. "If that's the case, we should be on our way to Pennsylvania," added Dot. "That's a good point you both got," replied Yakko, "We'll take the next flight to-"
"Warners!" called the Prime Minister, as her, General Marius, and some soldiers approached them. "Hello Prime Minister!" Yakko and Wakko said at the same time. "Boys, go fig," Dot said as she rolled her eyes. "What the heck?!" the Prime Minister said sternly, "I have gotten nothing but complaints about you guys and the antics you guys have been getting into! What do you have to say for yourselves?" "Well, maybe those folks should listen to a little bit of Billy Joel," said Yakko. "I could go for a Philly cheesesteak right about now," said Wakko. "Sorry that they can't handle my cuteness!" said Dot.
"Well, that's not what we expected to hear," said General Marius, "But anyway, you 3 are coming with us." "We also need to talk with you guys about some things," said the Prime Minister, "When we saw your faces and when you guys introduced yourselves earlier, we knew that something was different." "I don't know what you guys are talking about, but me and my sibs were going to Pennsylvania to look for our parents, until we ended up on the wrong plane and ended up on whatever you guys call this place," said Yakko, "Now if you'll excuse me, we have a plane to catch."
Both the Prime Minister and General Marius knew they had to say something wise and quick. General Marius whistled and the soldiers blocked the way of the Warners, to make sure they could go to the airport. "You don't understand," the Prime Minister explained, "You may have heard of Pennsylvania being the toon sanctuary of the Northeast and a possibility of your parents being there, but that was a while ago. That sanctuary fell apart in 1997 and was eventually turned into an oil refinery. You might think I am crazy, but the truth is, your parents, William and Angelina the second are here on this island!"
Meanwhile, at least 10 submarines popped up right near Toon Island. One of them slowly had their top door opened as Townly and two of his employees came out. Townly just stared and smirked. "So this is where toons seem to be hiding. That'll change really fast!" "Uhh, Mr. Townly, are we gonna use all the dip we can on them?" asked of the the employees. "No, we won't kill them right away," Townly said, "Use our sturdy net guns and sleep spray. Then we'll take em to Burbank where we will kill them, as well as some Acme employees." "So, spare the Warners too until that time?" "Yes, spare the Warners until that time."
