They stopped their game and looked at Naruto to continue. "The village is going to be under attack soon. I can feel forces quickly approaching. The patrol of sections 17 to 20 are all dead, and that is where they are coming from. I estimate a force of 736 shinobi approaching, and they are skilled."
"Shikamaru, I am going to summon two of my fastest summons to take you two to the village. Report what I just said to him. Hinata I will send you to Fugaku-sama. He would assemble the police force. They will reach the village in approximately 35 minutes at their current speed."
"They are spreading to sections 14 to 26. I will hold them back as long as possible. But you guys have to be quick. I will fire the emergency signals so there will be chaos when you reach the village. Be sure to relay the complete information. There is no time. I will head to section 16, where the biggest chakra group is to disperse their forces." Naruto said as he summoned two foxes.
He could see that they wanted to argue, but they knew better. They mounted the foxes, who took off at full speed. Naruto unsealed the signals and fired them into the air. He quickly unsealed his equipment and got ready for the confrontation.
He didn't know who they were or where they came from, but he wasn't about to risk his village. He had to preserve chakra for the unknown fights. He made a clone to head to ROOT and assemble the forces. He took a deep breath and headed towards a point where he knew he could intercept them.
He stood in the clearing with Kurama fully ready in his mindscape for assistance. The most potent force was heading right toward him. He waited for them to enter the clearing, and that's when he saw their headbands.
The Yugakure. Their village was disbanded a while ago, and no one knew what happened to their whole forces until now. It was as if their entire shinobi population vanished overnight. Naruto had his answer. "Look what we have here. A little boy is trying to play the hero." A man with a scythe said.
Now that Naruto paid attention, all 47 men in the clearing had scythes and similar chakra. Naruto quickly checked the other forces, but it seemed only these ones were the Jashinist. Naruto quickly activated a barrier around them via a clone standing right outside of it. No one could get in or out without the permission of the clone. There was also another clone to protect the one holding the barrier.
"Oh, look. The baby has a few tricks. I hope you are ready to meet our lord Jashin." Said Hidan. Naruto didn't think he would see him, but he was glad for the opportunity to end him.
"I am an Uzumaki. The only god we worship is the Shinigami." Naruto said as he took his battle stance. With a battle cry, he charged.
Naruto was getting tired. Although he released his seals before the fight to use his maximum power and speed, the Jashinists weren't slackers. In fact, agility was what they specialized at. All they needed was a drop of their enemy's blood. They didn't need power for that.
They needed speed to make that injury and perform their ritual before someone could interrupt them. During the war, they came to an abandoned Jashinist temple. They learned quite a bit about them. Hidan wasn't the most dangerous one.
Hidan was arrogant, so he only wanted to use one technique, but the fact was they had so many more techniques. Naruto couldn't afford to make a single mistake. Most of their techniques involved blood. They could use it as a weapon.
They could control blood outside the body. So whether it was Naruto who bled or them, they could control and maneuver it in order to attack. Then there were techniques for drawing the blood. Their scythes were chakra conductive, and they could use chakra to increase the cutting power in a way that even if the enemy wasn't hit by the chakra but they were close enough, it would draw blood.
Naruto was using his seals to keep them away. The area covered by the barrier wasn't enough to make enough distance to use long-range ninjutsu, but it was enough to dodge and keep them on his front. He wasn't about to turn his back on them.
It was a game of cat and mouse. Naruto would use his seals to create diversions and use them to land hits. It was hard since they could re-attach limbs, and most wounds were useless, but Naruto was using poisons. This particular poison was a gift from Orochimaru.
It was made from snake venom, and it would stop or slow down the circulation of the chakra inside the body. It was perfect against the Jashinists since the slowed-down chakra meant that they wouldn't be able to heal their wounds or re-attach their limbs.
So far, Naruto had injured quite a few of his opponents, but he was tiring down. He couldn't afford any injuries, and limited space made dodging quite hard. He used air bullets to hit 2 of the enemies charging at him and did a backflip to dodge a scythe trying to cut him in half. He used the opportunity to cut the enemy in the shoulder.
Twelve had fallen down so far, but others were getting more careful. He suddenly felt two people approaching. It was Hiashi and Tsume. It was an unlikely combo, but Naruto didn't have time to dwell on it. They approached his barrier clones, so Naruto focused on his fight.
A few moments later, right when Naruto activated an explosion seal, he slapped on an opponent's head, and the clone that wasn't holding the barrier popped. Naruto quickly docked under the scythe aimed toward his head as he went through the memory.
Hiashi and Tsume were sent by the Hokage to find and assist him. Since they were both trackers, they would be the fastest to find him. His clone gave them a complete rundown of everything they needed to know.
Of course, he had to be short, so it was more along the line of "Under no circumstances should you get cut; they can control blood." Of course, there was a little more explanation of their main techniques and skills, but that wasn't important.
His barrier clone let them in when Naruto gave it a signal. Tsume immediately used her jutsu to drill through their forces. Hiashi shunshined right next to Naruto and hit the opponent, coming toward his back right in the chest, which sends him flying into another one.
"Hiashi-sama, thank you for your assistance. Your best chances are closing their tenketsu so they can't circulate their chakra before dealing with the killing blow. I will assist Tsume-sama and finish the opponents she strikes." Naruto said, and after confirmation with Hiashi, he shunshined toward Tsume.
They were very efficient. Of course, their status as clan heads and roles in the last war meant that they were more than competent to deal with unknown opponents. It took them a while longer. Tsume would send the Jashinists flying, keeping them distracted, while Naruto used his seals and poison to finish them.
Finally, they were done, and Naruto made sure to quickly seal all the bodies and burn the scrolls in case one of them was still alive. Tsume and Hiashi were uninjured but a little winded. Kuromaru was also doing well.
As for Naruto, Tsume had a close call where one of the Jashinists tried to attack her with his blood. Naruto saw it and jumped to intercept it, which got him a nasty gash on his leg. Thankfully he was one of the last opponents, and Hiashi finished him the next moment.
Naruto knew that the only reason they managed to come out without any injury was because of their enemy's arrogance in their immortality. They never had to fight against those able to kill them, so they've never fought for their lives. The truth of their mortality stirred a deep sort of panic in them and caused them to make many mistakes. They were so afraid that their only thought was to kill them and get away from the barrier.
They couldn't deal with the fact that they were trapped like animals waiting for slaughter with no way to get out or run away. so they became hasty and lost their lives.
Kurama was healing the wound as fast as possible, but it would take a few hours, which Naruto didn't have, so he burned the wound with a Katon trick he learned from Shisui. He was now putting some salve on it and bandaging it. He was a bit light-headed, but he would be fine.
"Hey, kid, do you need help with that," Tsume asked with concern.
"I'm fine, Tsume-sama. I still have a lot of chakra. I will summon a fox to get back to the village. But I can sense some trouble in section 18. There is a high number of conflicts there. Perhaps you should head there." Naruto said as he finished bandaging his leg.
Both clan heads checked for a few seconds to confirm. "Fine, brat. But you better get back to the village safe." Tsume said as they headed to the next battlefield.
Naruto had a plan, and he was going to make sure he executed it right. He quickly summoned four foxes and gave them all the instructions. Three of them headed out while Naruto got on top of the last one with a quick apology to get back in the village.
The inside of the village was safe, thankfully. All the battles were engaged outside the borders, and the Uchiha police force made sure to take all civilians to the bunkers and protect important buildings. There were guards and sensors all around the perimeter. Naruto quickly got in after a short confirmation. He headed straight to the sealing division.
On the top floor, the main controls of the protective barrier around the city were located. The barrier not only alarmed of entry of unauthorized entities, but it also allowed the activation of multiple traps and seals located all around Konoha.
At times like this, when the village was under attack, the barrier needed constant chakra from the seal masters, but there were nature chakra seals that kept the minimum output that made it function on regular days.
Naruto quickly got into a position in the circular room. There were interwind designs on the ground and all over the walls. There was a luminescent orb in the middle of the room, which showed the state of the barrier, and, if there was a breach, its exact location.
Naruto went to stand in the closest circle to the orb. The seal masters were standing in circles. The closest ones had control over the activation of remote seals, but the ones in outer circles were only putting in their chakra.
There was also the outermost ring where people who controlled their chakra output stood. Naruto sat down with a protest from his injured leg. He put his hands on his designated seal and started connecting himself to the seal.
He sensed around the village for any trouble and maintained his focus also on the fights happening outside. There were a few injuries, but the number of deaths was meager. They only needed around an hour more before finishing all the enemies.
They were unlucky since most of their best forces were outside on missions. But Konoha was not naïve, and there was a good reason while clan heads hardly ever took missions outside the village. Everyone was doing their part like a well-oiled machine.
Shikaku was ordering the forces from a vantage point over the comms along with the Hokage and battle advisors. Tsunade was ordering medical teams to head to needed locations and also treat the injured shinobi brought into the hospital.
Orochimaru was crashing the battlefield and obliterating the enemy. The ANBU and ROOT were headed to all borders along with sensors and tracking shinobis to ensure the safety of the fire country. The Jonin were engaged in fights happening around, and the chunin were defending the village.
Naruto was glad to see that the Uchiha jonin were also in front-line fights. The chunin and retired Uchiha were the ones holding the role of the police force under the constant orders of Fugaku. Things were going smoothly.
Naruto focused his sensing on where his summons met the clone waiting for them. Everything was going according to his plan. For years he has been waiting for this opportunity, and now he has finally managed to do it.
Suddenly there was a massive burst toward the barrier. Three enemies had gotten past their forces somehow and were at the barrier. Naruto immediately focused his chakra on that section to ensure they couldn't get in.
The current state of the barrier had some defenses against people entering or jutsu getting in. Still, it wasn't powerful due to the large area it covered, so they quickly relayed the information to Shikaku and the Hokage to send shinobi to the defense.
They managed to hold up until everything was done. Naruto had to stay a lot longer to make sure the barrier had enough nature chakra to function on its own. By the end, even he passed out due to exhaustion.
He woke up two days later at the Konoha general hospital. Tsunade demanded to be in charge of him so he wasn't taken to the base. Naruto had to stay for 24 more hours to make sure he was stabilized. There was a quick questioning with Shikaku about his report.
They wanted to know the exact events and how he knew about Jashinists. Naruto told them that there were some scrolls about them in the ROOT library, which wasn't a lie. They were feared during the first and second shinobi wars, so there were reports about them and some of their abilities.
In the end, Shikaku just told him to get well soon and that Shikamaru was worried about him. Finally, it was at night that Tsunade came to his room. She told him to wait for a few seconds as they waited for Orochimaru.
He came in from the window and quickly activated a privacy seal. "Sorry, I am late. I had to make sure I was not seen." Orochimaru said as he took Naruto's chart from the bottom of his bed to check his condition.
"So, did the plan succeed?" Naruto asked.
"Well, gaki, I have to give it to you; not only it worked, but you also ruffled a lot of feathers by that stunt," Tsunade said.
"Can I ask what happened after my clone popped?" Naruto asked.
"Well, your clone told me your plan. It was quite hard for me to maneuver the enemies, so we were right above that hidden underground facility. Your foxes were a great guide to the location and also gathered the enemies by making them give chase all to that location."
"All I had to do was to use some of my larger summons and a few doton jutsus, and the ground gave in. Of course, I already had a clone go in to make sure there was no damage to that particular room. I finished the enemies and then took an investigation team with me."
"I managed to get Aburame, Yamanaka, and Akimichi clan heads to accompany me. They'd just finished their sections, and since it was near the end, it wasn't hard to convince them to follow." Orochimaru said with his expression close to a smile.
"So you found…."
