As the next day arrived, the reason for the sparring tournament was revealed. It began like any other day, with my friend Skye and I walking sleepily to school, attending a few classes. Then, out of the blue, Tatsuo-sensei called out eight names from our classroom, including Skye and me. As far as I could remember, these eight were the top six of the sparring tournament and the second Hyuga girl. Skye seemed irritated by the unexpected interruption, especially since he didn't perform well in the tournament.

Gathering outside the classroom, we were greeted by our teacher and a mysterious man we had never seen before. They led us to a disused room in the academy, where we noticed strange seals lining the walls. After closing the door, the unfamiliar man started to speak, leaving us all curious and confused.

Despite my intrigue, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of nervousness, wondering what this unexpected meeting could mean. Skye, on the other hand, appeared more impatient than anything, already wishing he could go back to his interrupted nap.

"Hello, My name is Unimportant. I've been sent here to deliver a message to the 8 of you. First, I'd like to ask a question, do you all know about the ANBU black ops?" The man said. Skye and I shared a quick glance before we nodded alongside everyone else. The man's smile seemed to grow as he saw our answer.

"Well, that's good. The reason I asked you all this question is because, as you know, we are in difficult times in the village. A bunch of Shinobi have been sent out to war, those included ANBU members as well. This caused us to have a shortage of ANBU within the village, and this is why we made a special program." The man said.

It was obvious where he was going with this, and I definitely cannot say it was anything good. I would probably do anything if it meant that I wouldn't have to acquaint myself with the Anbu. All in fear of one man, Shimura Donzo. The stupid shit he did during the show was enough for me to deduce how dangerous it is to have that man know who you are.

"The idea behind the program was rather straightforward. We'll provide personal training to some of the academy's most promising students, mold them into Anbu, and enlist them into our force temporarily until the end of the war. If you prove useful to us, we'll consider promoting you to our permanent ranks." The man explained as he paced back and forth before us. He says it like we actually want to stay in the ANBU, but knowing the ANBU's reputation in this world, it kind of makes sense. Everyone else seemed excited about the opportunity presented to them (Including Itachi), except for Skye and me. I mean, seriously, we had the exact opposite reaction to everyone else. Maybe Skye was too tired to say anything, but knowing him, he wouldn't have stayed quiet for long.

The man's demeanor suddenly shifted to seriousness. "However," he began, "the training you will receive to become Anbu will be more rigorous than anything you've experienced before. If you plan on slacking off, I suggest you withdraw now." His words wiped the smiles off their faces and replaced them with looks of nervousness and uncertainty. "So, what's it going to be?" he asked. The room was silent as no one answered.

Finally, Itachi stepped forward and said he wanted to join, followed by Izumi and slowly more of them followed. Until it was just Skye and me left. The man eyed us both, and we understood what he was trying to say. "Are you going to join, or are you going to pull out like pussies (probably?)"

I had planned on pulling out from the start; it seemed like more trouble than it was worth. I took a final look at Skye before announcing my withdrawal. He looked at me as if he were trying to grab my attention, and then he stepped up with the rest of the children. I was confused until he mouthed the words "Trust me" while looking back at me. I hesitated for a moment before stepping up as well.

"Good, so you're all up for the challenge? Well then, let me tell you everything you need to know," the man said. He then began to explain all the important details about the program, including the fact that our involvement with the ANBU must be kept a secret no matter what, which seemed odd to tell a bunch of five-year-olds, but whatever. He told us that we were obligated to attend school even though we were training to be Anbu, which was very unfortunate news for Skye. After that, we were all brought back to class and sternly reminded to not tell anyone about this. As soon as we got back to class, I started pestering Skye to tell me why he made us join the Anbu. The only answer I got was whining as he promised to tell me later and begged me to let him continue having his nap. The school day ended and everyone went back home, Except Skye and me, who went to get Ramen after school. We got to a random Ramen shop and ordered our food. While we were waiting for the food, I turned to Skye. "So, you gonna tell me why you made me do that?" I asked. He looked at me for a second before he let out a sigh. "I'll just tell you my thought process, you might not like it now, but just trust me. You'll thank me later." He answered. Even though his tone seemed sincere, I still couldn't help but worry about what he said. "I won't like it? What do you mean?"

He let out another sigh before he spoke. "I know why you don't want to join the Anbu and I get it, but I think it's actually an opportunity. We'll be able to have access to more things compared to being an academy student." "That's your reason?! Motherfucker, what about Donzo?!" "Remember, we're only temporary members. Not official members, so I doubt Donzo will have anything to do with us." He answered.
I paused and took a deep breath, trying to comprehend Skye's sudden change of heart. While it was true that joining the Anbu would give us access to more places and the ability to leave the village, it seemed pointless when we would constantly be under surveillance. As I exhaled slowly, I turned to look at Skye, searching for an explanation. "Listen, I'll trust you. But just think about this real hard. Are you sure about this?" "Yes, I got it all planned. It's more than just having access to everything, You'll understand why I did this later." In a matter of moments, our food arrived, and with the place empty, it didn't take long for it to be served. We sat in silence, feeling a bit awkward, while I pondered the unexpected opportunity of getting closer to the most wicked person in the village. After we finished our meal, we went our separate ways, each heading back to our own homes.

- Samui was on his way to the Uchiha residence. He had a lot on his mind after what recently happened and the fact that he is now a temporary member of the Anbu. He was still trying to contemplate how this could be an opportunity just like how his friend told him. He was almost at the Uchiha residence when he saw a group of men standing outside the gates. It was a group of about 6 or 7 men wearing dark robes standing in front of the gate, and speaking to them was none other than the clan chief Fugaku. Samui continued on his way until he was noticed by Fugaku. Suddenly, all the men dispersed, and he was the only one standing in front of the gate. He glanced at the boy once more before he went back inside. Samui thought that it was weird, but he couldn't help but feel like he was somehow targeted here. He then shook off the thought, assuming they just didn't want him to hear what they were speaking about. He reached his home and opened the front door, only to see that all the lights in the house were opened. Usually everything would be closed, and it's usually only his mum and her caretaker who enter the house, but his mom couldn't move, and the caretaker never left the lights on before. Curiosity got the best of him as he left his shoes and entered the house, he then began looking around for anything noteworthy. Everything seemed alright, nothing was out of place, until he found a letter on top of a tea table in the living room. He sat down in front of the table and began reading the letter to himself out loud. "To the family of our fallen comrade, It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of a brave warrior in battle. Though we cannot reveal names, we can assure you that your loved one fought valiantly and with honor until the very end. We hope that this letter may bring you some measure of peace, knowing that your family member fought for a just cause and will always be remembered for their bravery and sacrifice." He could feel water welling up in his eyes, and his heart felt weak. It was really odd. He knew that this letter was directed to his family, and the deceased was probably his uncle. But he never had much of an attachment with his uncle... yet here he is, tears streaming down from his eyes uncontrollably. He closed the letter and placed it back on the table.
