AN: Enjoy!

As he went over his plan (a rather flawed one, from Vision's perspective) Bohner wore a rather smug expression, clearly believing he had Vision over a barrel.

That was true for now, but hopefully not for long. Vision had what he hoped was an Ace up his own sleeve, and was working on the pieces he needed to put in place in order to play said Ace.

He said nothing about the flaws he saw in Bohner's plan. However, he did say:

"I will still need to let my companions know I will be away longer than expected.."

"Sure" Bohner shrugged, still smug. "Don't think you can warn her, though. I know your ship, and if I see it try to take off, it will take me less than a second to ping your location to the Ravagers."

"I am well aware.. If you'll just excuse me for a moment.." Vision left the table.

He sent his message to Wanda, through a communicator he had recently gifted her. Ignored the urge to warn her, instead simply explaining that he was going to be away longer than expected, and that she and the boys should just return to the ship and wait for him after they were done at the market.

Then, he sent another message, one that he needed for his ace-in-the-hole to come to fruition. He just hoped it would get through in time.

That evening, Vision ventured with Ralph Bohner outside the town, heading for a series of rock formations a short distance away.

"HYDRA members often meet up just outside town," Bohner explained, as Vision somewhat reluctantly followed along behind him, both with weapons raised. "The target, that bitch Natasha Romanoff.. She calls herself Black Widow, how dumb is that?.. has been doing a stake out from these rocks to catch them. It's a real pain in the ass."

"How sad for them.." Vision grumbled, as his eyes scanned the surrounding area.

"Yeah.. but if I hand her over to them, I'll be in for sure. Probably with perks!"

Vision was going to reply, but was interrupted by the sound of movement, before a red-haired woman in a black jumpsuit that left very little to the imagination. In a less serious situation, Vision may have had time to wonder why he was not as affected by her as by Wanda.

"Perks, huh?" Natasha raised an eyebrow. "Kid, I don't think becoming Hydra is anywhere near as great as you think it's going to be."

"It'll get me where I want to be" Bohner smirked, aiming his blaster. "Me and my new synthe-pal here have you outnumbered. Drop your weapons."

"If you say so.." Natasha shrugged, doing as he asked.

The smug grin returned to Bohner's face as she seemingly complied with his demands. Although Vision, not for the first time, noted it as a sign of his inexperience that the Hydra hopeful did not question Natasha's compliance coming so easily.

"Vision, cuff her" Bohner ordered, a wicked gleam in his eye.

"Actually," Vision replied, "I don't think I'll be doing that."

"I think you will, unless you want me to rat out your little girlfriend to hundreds of Bounty Hunters."

"Yeah.. that's not gonna happen either" Natasha shrugged.

"Oh yeah?" Bohner sneered. "Why not?"

"Well.."

In quick succession, two arrows were fired, the first smashing Bohner's communicator, and the second both piercing his hand and knocking his blaster out of it.

"Ah! Wha.." Before the unfortunate Hydra hopeful could even react to either of these events, a young blonde haired woman seemingly fell out of the sky, landing on him knocking him down, and pinning him to the ground, blaster aimed at the back of his head.

"Stay right where you are, Mr.. what was his name again?" The young woman asked.

"Uh.. Bohner, I think?" Natasha replied.

"Ralph Bohner" Vision confirmed.

"Really?" The Blonde's nose wrinkled. "No wonder the guy turned evil, School must have been rough.. Hey, Vision."

"Hello, Yelena." With the immediate problem seemingly dealt with, Vision managed to relax a little.

The shock now wearing off, Bohner squirmed, screaming at the pain of the arrow through his hand, as well as his current predicament. Definitely not as clever as he thought he was.

"What.. What the hell is going on?"

"A word of advice, Mr. Bohner, since that was what you employed me for originally.." Vision shifted from his position to instead stand where the other man could see him, "Next time, before you choose a target, make sure you know their associates.. If Natasha Romanoff is on a stake-out, Yelena Belova and Clint Barton are never far away.."

At that moment, Barton appeared, rappelling down one of the rock formations, bow strapped to his back, ready to deliver his own piece of advice.

"And next time you try to blackmail a guy, maybe check who his friends are first."

"You're gonna regret this!" Bohner tried to argue, but his skewered, bleeding hand, coupled with the fact that Yelena was quite easily keeping him pinned, meant it was rather difficult to keep taking him seriously.

"We're really not" Natasha shrugged. "It's always a good thing for us to keep Hydra from sprouting another head."

"My thoughts exactly" Clint agreed. "Thanks for giving us the heads up on this one, Vision."

"No problem.." Vision checked his own communicator, finding a message from Wanda time stamped a couple of hours earlier, letting him know that she and the boys were back on the ship. "You three seem to have the situation in hand, so if you don't mind, I should.."

"Go" Yelena nodded. "We will take care of Mr. Bohner from here."

"But keep in touch, okay?" Natasha playfully nudged his arm. "We'd love to meet your new Girlfriend."

"Wanda is not my.." Vision paused, slightly unsure. "I-It's still new. I'll let you know when we're safely off-world, and yes, I promise to keep in touch."

Vision didn't fly often. In his line of work, it was a skill best kept to himself until needed. But he flew now. He flew, as fast as he could fly, back towards The Side of Life. He held a breath that wouldn't be released until he saw Wanda, knew for certain that she was okay.

Today had scared him. He had come so close to losing everything, received a horrifying, painful reminder of just how fragile life could be. When he finally reached the ship (it had only been a few minutes since he had left Clint and the two Sister-Widows, but it felt like much longer) he landed and bolted inside.

"Wanda? Wanda!" He called, quite frantic.

"Vizh?" Wanda frowned as she emerged from the sleeping quarters. "I just put Tommy and Billy down to sleep. What's wrong?"

"A-Are you okay? Are they..?"

"Of course. Why wouldn't we be?" Wanda's frown deepened.

"I-It was a trap" Vision began to explain. "The job. It was a trap. Bohner, he.. He threatened you and the twins to get me to do what he wanted.. L-Luckily his target was an old friend of mine, and we stopped him, but.."

"Oh my God.."

"This is exactly why I didn't want to take any jobs right now.." Vision's voice shook. "Exactly why. The possibility of something like this happening again.. It is far too great a risk."

"Okay" Wanda nodded, wide-eyed, a little stunned by how shaken he seemed. "O-Okay. I get it. No more jobs."

"Good.. that's good" Vision relaxed, just a little. "If anything ever happened to you or our children, I would never forgive myself.."

"W-What did you just say?"

"If anything happened to you or your children.."

"No.." Wanda shook her head.

"No?" Vision's brow crinkled in confusion, seemingly unaware of his slip.

"You said.. You said 'our children'.."

"Oh.." Vision blushed furiously. "Well, um, easy slip, only one letter difference, you know. I suppose, when you are around particular children a lot it is easy to feel.. To believe.." He cursed inwardly, worried he had taken a step too far..

But then, slowly, a bright, beautiful smile spread over Wanda's face, and for a moment, in that one precious smile, all Vision's troubles faded away.

Maybe, it hadn't been such a bad day after all.
