Both Cynthia and Lucian left the Pokémon Center at midnight. The air was a bit chilled and the sky was illuminated by the beautiful street lamps.

It's been days since Cynthia last brought in the Munna, but they've finally found the Pokémon's owner.

A sailor who worked at the shipyard who helped load Sinnohvian goods to Unova and who helped to unload Unovan goods here hired one of the crewmen on the ship to smuggle in a Munna or a Musharna for his daughter. His daughter was having a difficult time sleeping at night, and he thought that having this pokémon would help her.

Now he is currently in police custody.

Cynthia was happy that they were able to find the culprit of their mysterious sickness, but she couldn't help but to be sad.

"I'm glad we prevented many more from falling sick, but I wish we could heal the others as well. It feels like we failed them in a way."

Since Cynthia and Lucian had found who caused these events, the city was not in need of them anymore. Many officials believed they would never find a cure and let those that were affected have a peaceful death.

Because of this, Cynthia and Lucian were planning to leave back to the League tomorrow morning.

Lucian hummed a bit. He knew he had to bring up what he knew sooner than later, but he wasn't sure how. The issue was so close to his heart that he almost didn't want to say anything … almost.

"Lady Cynthia," Lucian started, though she gave him a snide look.

Lucian coughed, "Cynthia, I think I may know a way to heal the rest of the patients that are hospital bound."

Cynthia immediately stopped walking and turned around to face Lucian, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

"How?"

"You know I grew up in the Moonbay Prefecture, right?"

"Yes, I do."

"There, we have an illness that looks a lot like the one we are seeing here. I talked to a few healers back home and they agreed with me that many of the signs and symptoms appear to be the same. The disease is known as takut and is very common. There is a special medicine that is made to be able to cure it and wake those up from their sleep."

Cynthia smiled, "Ok, great! Let's call a pharmacy over there and see if they can deliver the medicine to us."

"That's the problem though."

"What is?"

"The medicine is not at the ready. It has to be made fresh every time. There are four ingredients needed to make them. Two of them are found on the Fullmoon Isles and the other two are found on the Newmoon Isles. We have to pick the ingredients fresh and make the medicine within 24 hours or else the medicine will be rendered useless. Then, after we have made the medicine, we must give it to those who are sick within 48 hours as well."

"Well . . . that's a lot."

Lucian nodded.

"But I guess we have no choice."

The next morning they left at 5am to ride a boat that would take them to the Moonbay Prefecture.

It would take them one hour to get there.

The sun hadn't come over the horizon yet; so the sky danced in a pretty blue color. You could even see a few stars in the sky.

The boat they charted was private so it was only the two of them there besides the captain. Others thought they needed more staff for protection, but Lucian declined. He felt as if they needed to handle this personally. The people there would not be as receptive to having multiple members of the state making demands of them.

It would be better to go in alone and make it more personal.

After about ten minutes into their journey, Cynthia attempted to make conversation with Lucian the only way she knew how.

"Hey Lucian," said Cynthia.

Lucian turned his head over in her direction, closing the book he was reading.

"I've heard the legends of Emperor Yoru and Princess Tsuki are quite popular there. Is that true? I've never lived or visited there but my grandparents always told me many Sinnohvian myths and legends at bedtime."

Lucian internally grimaced.

Those two legends were popular amongst the Kanjojins that lived in the prefecture.

The Kanjojins were a group of people whose ancestors came from the kingdoms of Kanto and Johto. After the two kingdoms united and decided to become one, war broke out among them, and many of their people fled the land to find a new home. Many of them decided to settle the Golden Peninsula, which is today known as Sinnoh.

When the Kanjojins first arrived in the peninsula, they started to settle in the unclaimed land, but after they slowly started settling all areas of the region and beyond, more Kanjojins started living in claimed land.

This is how the Kanjojins started living in the former Kingdoms of Aspirasi and Realitas, which are homes to the Lunites and Eclipsites respectively.

Many myths, legends, and folklores were born from the meeting of multiple cultures. They allowed the Kanjojins the ability to understand these foreign peoples they were coming in contact with, even if they were false.

The legend of Princess Tsuki is very popular among the Kanjojins that live in the Fullmoon Isles. Princess Tsuki is a princess from the moon. She is kind, beautiful, and graceful. She is known to bestow good dreams on those she loves and that honor her well. Princess Tsuki is also known for giving gifts to children who start to lose their teeth. Children will put their teeth under their pillow at night, and Princess Tsuki will take the tooth and exchange it for a gift, such as a stuffed animal or candy.

The legend of Emperor Yoru is very popular among Kanjojins that live in the Newmoon Isles. Emperor Yoru is known as the King of the Night. He is said to have created demons known as Nightmarus and sent them among those at night. He is said to kidnap children from the shadows who are walking out at night. Tales of him are told to small children to prevent them from staying too late at their friends' homes.

These two legends are so popular that there have been many local movies made about them that gained quite a bit of popularity.

Cynthia was always really good at connecting with others, which is why she was surprised when Lucian stateed that he's never heard of those legends before.

Most of Cynthia's friends, even those in the Elite and the League, were made by her connecting with them over different folktales and legends. Because Sinnoh has such a deep and rich regional / local culture, people live in very different ways depending on where in the country you are from.

Because Cynthia grew up learning about all the different tales and legends, as well as adhering to them, she was always able to connect with Sinnohvians from different places by appealing to shared stories and events in their childhood.

For Cynthia, it just meant she would have to work much harder in order to make some strides in her relationship with Lucian.

The sun was just rising over the horizon when their boat docked.

The dock was quiet but still full of life as fishermen were just now coming in for work.

Their boat landed on the island of Bulan Purnama, which is a part of the Fullmoon Island chain. Bulan Purnama is the largest of the five islands of the Fullmoon Isles and is where the largest portion of Kanjojins live.

Lucian quickly led them out of the dock and towards a rental car that he reserved the day before.

Once they got in the car, Lucian took the wheel and drove them into town to a small shop that was open just for them at this hour.

Lucian found a healer on the Fullmoon Isles since Puasa was over for the Lunites while the Eclipsites still had another two weeks to go.

After driving for 30 minutes, Lucian pulled up to a quaint one-story home. Both of them exited the car and then walked up to the front door.

Lucian knocked on the door. After a few seconds a woman answered.

She had a tawny skin complexion with her white blonde hair pulled up in a bun with a lilac headscarf covering it. She had a strong build and wore a lilac dress that reached her ankles with white combat boots.

The woman bowed to them and then said, "Good morning Elite Lucian and Champion Cynthia, please come in."

The woman stepped aside and Lucian and Cynthia walked in the door.

The woman led them to the back of her shop where she maked all the medicines that she sells.

Once they got settled, the woman started to move around and gathered the ingredients they needed.

"Cynthia, I would like to introduce you to Dr. Murib. She's been praciticing medicine for 20 years. She was gracious enough to help us with our problem."

Cynthia went to shake Dr. Murib's hand, "Nice to meet you Dr. Murib. Where did you get your M.D. from?"

"Oh, I don't have an M.D., Champion. I received my D.E.I.M at High Moon Univeristy in the Moonbay Prefecture."

"Oh. . ." said Cynthia, "That's interesting. I'm glad you got a degree in something you like. Lucian, could I talk to you in private for a second."

Cynthia grabbed Lucian by the hand and led him to the front part of the store where customers could browse around for medicines and other goods.

"What kind of doctor did you bring us too?!" she whispered.

"A good and reliable one," whispered Lucian, "What's wrong?"

"I thought you got a real doctor, not one with a D.E.I.M degree! How can she even help us? Is this even legal?"

Lucian crossed his arms, "Yes it is legal and ethical. I thought you were okay with this when I first brought it up. I said that they had to gather the ingredients."

Cynthia rolled her eyes, "I assumed you meant that they would have to contact a pharma company to send them what they needed. I didn't expect they would have to go pick random herbs from the field. Is she even licensed with the state?"

"She received her license and passed her board exams just like anyone needs to do to practice medicine. She's the only one who can help us right now. We can either accept her help and heal everyone back in Canalave or let them all die. Your choice."

Very few indigenous people in Sinnoh are accepted into medical school. Because of this and the fact that many indigenous peoples have poor outcomes when they are treated by Kanjojin doctors, many of the indigenous groups decided to create their own medical school education board.

This lead to the creation of the D.E.I.M degree, which stands for Doctor of Evidenced-Based and Indigenous Medicine. The students that go through these schools learn about evidence-based medicine but also the traditional medicines of their people.

Many Kanjojins refuse to see doctors with D.E.I.M degrees as real doctors because they add in indigenous medicine into their curriculum. However, with the rise of these doctors, many more indigenous people have been able to find the medical care that they need.

"Fine," huffed Cynthia, "We will work with her. But if anyone dies, it's on your head."

With that, they walked back into the room.

Dr. Murib had gathered all the ingredients they needed.

Each ingredient had to be boiled separately.

First, Dandelion Heart was boiled for three hours.

Then, Lion's Throat was added to the boil for another hour.

Willow Tail was added and boiled in for another three hours.

And lastly, Reinight Petals were added to the boil for another two hours.

All together, it took them nine hours to create the completed medicine.

Cynthia, Lucian, and Dr. Murib took turns in stirring the pot.

After pouring the medicine from the cauldron into many individualized bottles for each patient, they packed up and headed back to the dock.

By the time they got back to Canalave City, the sun was high in the sky during the late afternoon.

Lucian and Cynthia were exhausted, but they were determined to give this medicine to the patients.

Lucian let Cynthia go to the hospital alone. He knew that his presence wouldn't be wanted. As much as it hurt, he was also relieved to know that he was able to save their lives; even if they wouldn't save his.

Once Cynthia handed out the medicine to the doctors and nurses and to give to the patients, each person slowly started to get the medicine in their system.

With each hour that passed since the patients received the medicine, they became more responsive and more alert.

After four hours, each patient was fully conscious and awake.

Everyone cried. The medical team, the parents, and even the patients. They were all so happy that they knew they would live.
