I am back. I was sick and I am not feeling like I want to die anymroe
"Euhm Ruby! What is that!?" Those words bounced around in Ruby's head. She was seeing the Grimm that took her and dropped her in the stuff that gave her her ears and her tail and now she could actually fight it. But she is lucky it isn't on an even playing field. She had Juniper and she also had bullets
"Juniper! You go close on it. I'll provide cover fire!" Ruby yelled and slammed the blade of Sunset Rosepetal into the ground and began to fire at the Rook. Juniper stood there for a moment before reading her Percival & Lamorak before sprinting at the enemy
The Grimm wanted to raise Cresent Rose but was shot in the shoulder. Instead of the bullet just dislocating or removing the arm it only seemed to stagger the Grimm, but it was enough for Juniper to get in and start wailing into the Grimm. With each punch of her left she lodged a bullet into it's body and with each punch of her right she put stab wound after stab wound on it's body
"Left, right, left, right, right, left, right, left" Juniper mumbled to herself so she remembered the rhythm of her punches. If she just punched wildly the creature had more chances to recover and recover it did. With each punch the creature just seemed to regenerate more so to counter the regeneration she began to use her semblance. Instead of slowing down and speeding up slightly she would only speed up. Each punch faster and harder than before until eventually they had the same effect as if the Grimm was being assaulted in a hail of bullets
Ruby was impressed by Juniper's technique. She noticed the regeneration and began to put more pressure on the Grimm. However they both knew the extra pressure would only slow down the Grimm but it would do for now. However Ruby just couldn't let Juniper be the only one pummelling the Grimm
"JUNIPER FALL BACK!" Ruby screamed and began to use her semblance to get closer and closer to the Rook
Juniper was a bit confused at first but when she caught a glimpse of Ruby's scythe she quickly got the idea and jumped back just as Ruby slammed it into the Grimm. Creating a pretty sizeable wound on the creature, making it jump back and make the wound bigger
Both the girls were surprised at the blazing Grimm recoiling and backing up. In the whole assault of Juniper and the extra bullets Ruby was shooting the Grimm only seemed to flinch and stagger. Not fully back up and recoil that violently. However they both wanted to take advantage of the Grimm's reaction so Ruby and Juniper began rushing the it. It couldn't beat the both of them. Right? Well they were gonna at least push the Grimm to it's limits
The assault was very chaotic to say the least and a bit uncoordinated. When one was at a distance it was easy but when they were close and in combat it devolved quickly. While Juniper wanted to hit down right onto the torso of the Grimm but being forced to move by Ruby's Sunset Rosepetal repeatedly coming close to cutting her while Ruby wanted to strike at the joints keeping the limbs together but with how close Juniper was she was unable to reach the other limbs
But as quickly as they met the Grimm it seemed to weaken. Slowly it's jerky movements slowed down tremendously until eventually the Grimm was just laying on the floor. It seemed to be dead but not disintegrating.
"Did…. Did we kill it?" Juniper asked really surprised to see the Grimm just drop dead. This wasn't what she had been shown what would happen when a Grimm dies. Grimm would turn into black dust and float somewhere else, not just become a corpse
"I think so… Should we just leave it and go find more Grimm to end and find a elevator?" Ruby answer and asked a question of her own. She had seen a lot of weird things recently. The Grimm itself, the black land and pool, her with ears and a tail and now to add a Grimm corpse too. She just wanted to go on with the initiation and get into the school with a new team
"Yeah let's just….. go" Juniper said and began to walk away from the Grimm corpse. Ruby wanted to follow but quickly turned to the corpse and dropped Sunset Rosepetal, moving her hand to the Grimm hand and slowly getting Cresent Rose out of it and with a lot of strain managing to fold it close and hook it under her skirt. Even if using it was hard right now she at least had it with her again
However as Ruby left the Grimm corpse slowly started to move again. It had just been knocked out by them. It let out a soft noise of irritation as it looked at it's hand and found that Crescent Rose wasn't in it anymore. It angered the Grimm and since it lost it's original prey it would seek a replacement till it could find her again and luckily it saw some students
It quickly went after a group of three other students, all girls like the ones that beat them. Judging by their looks and how closely they fought together the Grimm could deduce they were probably related or very close. It made killing them all the more fun
Ruby and Juniper were strangely having quite a bit of fun. Making the killing of Grimm even into a competition to see who can kill more and kill the more powerful. It was just 2 huntresses in training having fun by killing the evil of the land. However the evil they thought they had defeated came back for a round 2
It started with a loud scream that was quickly silenced by a outside force. It turned the head of multiple students but more importantly got the attention of Ruby and Juniper hearing the noise come from behind them where they left the blazing Grimm corpse
"Should we check that out? It's kinda there with the thing" Juniper asked. She couldn't hide the nervousness in her voice. She knew that Grimm were dangerous creatures no matter what but they were supposed to be trained a bit in combat and they had auras so that scream could only mean something real bad was happening
"Yeah we should" Ruby gulped and began to slowly move her body towards the noise. She was conflicted inside. Oh one hand she did want to go and help the person if they were hurt. But on the other there was a voice in her mind begging her to not do it. Like they knew she would find something bad
At first the 2 were pretty silent but after a second both started to scream at the top of their lungs. The sight they were seeing and the thing that was unfolding before them was horrible for anyone to see
What they saw couldn't only be described as a murderers wet dream. On the rocky ground laid 2 bodies….. well what was left of them. One only had their right side while the left was turned into minced meat while the other was nothing more but a mass of shattered bones and oozing flesh. If you looked closely you could make our organs and parts of the skeleton, but Ruby and Juniper didn't want to stay around to look that closely
The 2 were shaking messes holding onto their power to keep standing and not fall. They were huntresses in training and were prepared to see some blood. It was highly guaranteed that they would see blood or break a limb but this? This was too much. They weren't prepared for such a scene
Then they looked up and saw another thing unfolding. A fight between the Grimm and the last of the 3 students it had int it's sight. Well describing it as a fight would be wrong. It was more of the girl trying to stay alive while heavily wounded while the Grimm was using hits that should've killed, only being held back by the girl being just a bit more agile
But then she made a mistake and tripped up
The Grimm didn't make a mistake
The Rook jumped in and grabbed the girl by the neck and lifted her up. Holding onto the struggling form of it's victim, trying to get away, trying to flee from the inevitable. But she was caught. And living wasn't on the table for her. Slowly the grimm raised it's empty hand and grabbed the left arm of the girl. Slowly twisting it until bones cracked, blood spilled and flesh tore. It went in with this. Going from limb to limb while the girl could only scream and watch her body be dismembered bit by bit and when she had no more arms or legs waited for her head to be next but that would be too easy. Instead it went with a far more gruesome method. Plunging it's fist into the remains of the girl and kept it in her, slowly letting the flames melt what remained of the half alive body
When the movement and screaming fully stopped the Grimm dropped the half melted body. It landed on the ground with a noises that was halfway between a crack like a bone was broken and a wet slap. A noise the 2 hoped to never hear again but before they could worry about that they needed to worry about the blazing Grimm that had just finished killing 3 student and now had noticed them
"Ruby. We need to make a run for it!" Juniper looked at Ruby before turning around and making a sprint for a elevator. No more making a competition out of Grimm killing, no more thinking who the other 2 teammates were. They just had to get away from it
Ruby didn't hesitate and ran with Juniper. The alternative of staying with the Grimm wasn't hat appealing since she wanted to stay alive. However as they ran to the closest elevator so did the Grimm. It was chasing them since they were it's original prey and they put up such a good fight earlier
Juniper got to elevator and saw there was already a student in it just waiting for the other 3 but Juniper quickly turned around waiting for Ruby to get in and for them to defend the elevator. However as she stared on she noticed something that made her look in horror
The Grimm was gaining on Ruby
And as it got close it jumped on top of Ruby making them both fall to the ground, hitting it with a loud thud. Ruby felt the impact and felt her aura getting close to shattering. She thrashed around. She was gonna be a huntress! She can't go down without a fight! But the Rook wasn't content with just hurting the young huntress in training. It wanted to make her death personal. It reached down under her skirt and wrapped one of it's hands around Crescent Rose and took it from where it was stuck to her hip. It folded the scythe sniper out and raised the weapon ready to take her life
Ruby just thrashed harder and harder. She couldn't die here! The new chapter of her life was just starting. She raised her remaining arm to try and block the fatal hit she was about to take. But the hit never came. Instead she felt the weight of Grimm suddenly fly off her. When she looked where the Grimm used to be she found no Grimm, instead a tall woman stood over her holding a hand out to help Ruby up
Ruby took the hand but felt her knees about to give out, her body trembling with fear and adrenaline but she was luckily helped by the strange woman who walked with the trembling mess that was Ruby
Ruby couldn't say thanks, complain, cry, talk. She could only slowly walk with what she presumed was her saviour to the elevator and away from certain death
And as they walk into the elevator the Grimm looked at them and let them leave. It knew it would be stopped and it could as easily just kill another person. But like it's master it was curious. Curious about how little miss rose would turn out
Random thing. I really fucking dislike authors who try to pawn of the fucking INSANE actions of their characters as "oh yeah even if I hate it it is what they would do". It is just an excuse
