Weiss shakingly held Myrtenaster as she stared down at the Shredder holding Jaune quite literally at blade point. From the corner of her eye she saw Kara scurrying towards her and clinging to her leg.
"Mommy what's happening!" she shouted with a scared tone as she clung tightly onto Weiss, whose gaze never left the armored maniac holding Jaune inches removed from the sharp blades on the tips of his knuckles. She breathed in and out and placed her free hand on Kara's head and said.
"It's going to be okay sweetie. It's going to be okay…"
She heard the Shredder sneer from underneath his mask "you keep on telling lies to that child. One wrong move and her dear dad will not be around to see her grow up."
Weiss was shaking, she could feel the fear and worry from Kara by her side mingling with her own sense of dread. Jaune was in literal mortal danger as the Shredder had him right there with the tips of his arm blades literally on the skin of Jaune's throat with even the slightest movement from either party meaning almost certain death.
"Let him go…" Weiss spoke rather meekly.
"You are not really in a position to make demands. I've met the other you, as much as she was whiny crybaby over the boy she lost long ago at least she carried herself with dignity. You are here shaking in your boots like a child."
"Mommy what is he talking about?" Kara asked her.
Weiss couldn't respond, her hand was trembling and as such was Myrtenaster along with it. In her head the many ways this could be resolved where replaying but she could not get a grip on a good escape plan. She had used Yoru's insecurity and anger well but the rest of the Collective wouldn't be kept down for much longer.
"Your eyes betray your uncertainties girl," the Shredder spoke mockingly "like the Lord Titan's daughter I can see the feelings you hold for this man. Even now with everything on the line you are still unwilling to risk the life of the man you love."
Love? Was that really what Weiss felt at this moment aside from the obvious fear. Was this really the moment to think about her conflicting feelings towards Jaune. She needed to think of a plan to get all three of them out of this situation. She needed to think? What could she possibly do.
The answer came…surprisingly out of nowhere.
From the corner of her eye Weiss could see a quick flying object pass her by with speed and precision as it flew towards the Shredder and went straight into its armors chest. While it did not seem to pierce him, it knocked him backwards and released Jaune from his grasp. Jaune moved quickly and grabbed his shield from the ground and with an impressive spin swung the shield right in the side of the Shredder's masked face, causing the man to be flung backwards into a nearby wall.
Every moment happened so quickly Weiss barely had time to register it all. The flying object returned upwards and she could now see it more clearly. It was a glowing blade encased with an orange energy. It flipped over and flung her way again, but it passed her and Weiss then turned around.
She saw a woman grab the blade in her open hand. She was dressed…quite unique in her eyes. Multiple rags covering her body, her pale skin shining on contrast to it, with jet-black hair and her face covered by a piece of cloth. What was most noticeable where her clear blue eyes, which she found…looked a bit familiar.
"Come with me if you want to live!" the woman shouted.
Weiss had no idea if this woman could and should be trusted but considering she was surrounded by the Collective she took her chances and grabbed Kara in her arms and ran towards the exit of the store with Jaune in tow.
The woman jumped upon what seemed to be a flowing hover pad. She gestured them to join her on it "come! We need to leave before they catch up!"
"Come on Weiss!" Jaune said as he grabbed her waist and pulled her up to the hover pad. The woman stood at the control panel and lifted the hover pad off the ground and they flew off into the air. As soon as they where out of sight they all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"Daddy are you alright!" Kara said as she hugged Jaune tightly.
"Yeah I'm okay little one. We are safe now," he said as he turned to Weiss "what about you? Are you alright Weiss?"
Weiss nodded, but internally she was all manner of confused and conflicted. Her mind asking the questions that where now racing towards her. How did the Collective find them and why where they suddenly so confident in coming to Gojo's home world of all places…and whether or not it was true….she looked at Jaune and exchanged glances and she knew he was thinking about the same thing.
Was the other Weiss still alive? Could that actually be true.
Weiss turned her attention to their unexpected savior and approached her, the woman turned around to face her, removing the cloth around her face, Weiss tried to recall where she remembered her from but she couldn't quite make out what she remembered.
"I'm glad you both are okay" the woman said as she glanced at the small family of three.
"Who are you?" Weiss asked curiously.
She didn't meet Weiss's eyes directly as she said "my name is Serena Blair…and I work for Satoru Gojo?"
Silco slumped out of the store into the empty street and saw their targets leave into the air. He growled in annoyance and anger. Yoru came out behind him and he immediately yelled.
"You shouldn't have let her get to you Yoru! Now the element of surprise is gone and we need to act quickly!"
Yoru angrily sneered "if all of you would stop comparing me to my sister this wouldn't have happ!"
"Spare me the excuses girl! There is no time for that we need to move and find where they are quickly before Gojo discovers that we are here!" Silco yelled as he went back inside to recover their remaining teammates as a pissed off Yoru angrily started taking her anger out on the nearby furniture, destroying everything in a blind fury.
A/N: So…I'm going to wrap up the story very soon. The next few chapters will have a lot of things happening at the same time and I do apologize if it becomes a lot but I really want to continue with the next story and a lot still needs to happen so expect a lot to happen in the next three chapters.
