The life of Sesshomaru and Ryokotsu (a.k.a Rin)
Chapter 13
Normal POV
(A/N: Normal writing= normal font...Thoughts.= italic...Telepathic communication= bold, italic... YOKAI=bold)
Almost 4 days has passed since Rin grew fond to the young child, Genji. Upon meeting him, she was introduced to many children in the village along with Kuruko, Linto, Rimata, Kitsu, Baku and more. Children was surely her weakness. Rin adored children and too this opportunity to be with them, since when she was back at Akumahitotoshi she was expected to uphold a manly figure. Spending time with the young ones became one of her favourite hobbies of now. At first the parents were a bit reluctant, however, as time passed on Rin was welcomed to visit many homes and spend time with the children. Mostly, she favoured playing with Genji and his siblings, but whenever she did she would feel a presence of another demon figure watching her. At first she had suspected that it was Sesshomaru, but deep down her youkai reminded her that Sesshomaru's aura is not this weak. About 2 days ago, Rin caught a child with dark purple/red hair peeking from behind the tree, but before she was able to get there the child had gone.
Whereas, for Sesshomaru things had become a lot more better too. Despite being a demon, many accepted him as he often assisted people in carrying heavy things with his demonic strength. Although, Sesshomaru despised humans, being a Protector prevented him from saying no to a request from a human. Therefore, Sesshomaru spend plenty of time helping out the villagers. One by one, they began knocking on Subaki's door to request help from Sesshomaru and of course he gladly accepted. However, this became something annoying to Subaki since he would often find crowds of people waiting outside his door, yelling for Sesshomaru.
But today everything seemed very quite, as if the villagers were waiting for something to happen...
Rin/Ryo POV
Today was unusually quite for the market place. Even as I walked through the streets and the children's usual play area there was barely anyone. There was no laughter. No joy. Only a few whispers from inside the houses. Upon arriving at Genji's house. I knocked on the door. As soon as I did, I smelt fear from inside the house. Slowly, Genji's father opened the door and peeked his head around. As he saw me, his eyes widened and he grabbed me by the arm and pulled me inside.
"What are you doing outside?" he whispered loudly.
"Why can't I be outside?" I questioned.
"Keep ye voice down. They are coming today," he whispered back, motioning me to the living room. Who are they?
In the haste of everything, I failed to notice Sesshomaru's scent or his aura and only realise when I made eye contact with him when I entered the room.
"Sesshomaru, who is coming today?" I asked when I sat beside him.
"The soldiers are coming to take the women away," he explained in his monotone voice.
"If only someone could stop them..." Genji's mother whispered, her voice cracking slightly as she pulled her eldest daughter, Rimata, closer to her.
All of a sudden a loud horn was blown and everyone was alerted to come out of their houses. As I was walking out following Sesshomaru and the others, Genji pulled on my sleeve and motioned me to come down, so he can whisper something into me ears. Nodding silently as him, I grabbed his hand and walked forward, only stopping beside Sesshomaru.
"My, my...look at all these pretty girls," said someone, who appeared to be the General of the group of men.
"Come on ladies, step forward before we come find you..." a solider said with a smirk.
Out of fear, the women stepped out one by one. Smiling at Genji, I let go of his hand and motioned him to stay next to Sesshomaru, at the back. Walking to the front, I stood proudly with my head help up high, looking straight ahead.
"Bow before the General," commanded a solider.
The girls bowed their head, clearly scare, but I merely looked at General, my head remaining in the same position as before. I saw as his lips tugged up into a smirk as he got up and pulled his sheathed sword. One by one he knocked the heavy sheath at the women's knees, making them fall onto the ground. Soon enough he reached me and looked at me.
"And an especially hard hit for this naughty gorgeous lady, who refuses to bow at me!" he shouted. With a smirk still on his face, he pulled his sheathed sword above his head and brought it back with as much as speed and force he could humanly muster.
Even after the hit, that almost threw the man back, I stood there rock solid, not even flinching. Of course, I could barely feel it. This earned a few gasps from the audience, not only the villagers but the soldiers too.
The General looked at me, his face red with anger and embarrassment. "HOW DARE YOU EMBRASS ME? YOU...YOU DISRESPECTFUL WENCH!" he shouted.
I simply smirked at him. He unsheathed his sword an once more held it above his head, yelling: "YOU DO NOT DESRVE TO LIVE!"
Once again he swung his sword, but this time aimed for me neck. In a mere few seconds, I caught his sword mid-air.
"Who does he think he is?" my youkai said, laughing hysterically.
"Please stop them from taking my sister, Lady Rin," Genji's voice echoed in my ears. The General's eyes widened as he watched my eyes flicker from black to gold, eventually, become it's natural golden colour. My demon markings slowly revealed themselves. The next second, I roared out loud exposing my long fangs, letting my inner youkai to take control for a few seconds. That instant his sword snapped in two and he fell backwards, crawling backwards.
"YOU WILL NOT RETURN BACK TO THIS VILLAGE! LET ALONE WOULD I ALLOW YOU TO LAY A FINGER ON THE WOMEN OF THIS VILLAGE!" I barked at them.
Many soldiers gasped and froze in their spots. Others ran of upon hearing my voice. Behind me I heard Genji chanting me, "Lady Rin! Lady Rin! Lady Rin!" Soon enough the rest of the villagers joined.
"LEAVE BEFORE I REMOVE YOUR HEAD FROM YOUR BODY!" I roared at him. Watching him scrabble around for his sword and running off into a distance, along with his men.
Slowly turning around, I met the eyes of the happy villagers. I bowed down and yelled, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you all I was a demon. I, Lady Rin, and Lord Sesshomaru are only here to protect you, but we knew you would never accepted us if you knew our true forms. I am truly sorry."
At the that moment, I felt Sesshomaru's hand on my shoulder, motioning me to stand up straight. As I did, he announced, "The men will not take away your women anymore, thanks to Lady Rin!"
Following this I heard, Subaki shout, "Lady Rin has saved our village! We are forever in debt to her!"
Listening to this the whole village bowed down to me, all shouting in unison, "Lady Rin we are forever in debt to you!"
Smiling widely, I looked at Sesshomaru and once his eyes met mine, a smile graced his beautiful features. His hands, rubbed me shoulder as he faced me.
"You have done it. You brought this village to safety, my Rin," he told me. At this my smile widened. My actions have been noticed by the demon I have always looked up to. Then, my eyes widened in realisation. Did he just say...my Rin?
A/N: Hope you enjoy the chapter! It's 2am here. Lol. At least, things have gotten much better in the village. Anyways, for your information that purple/red haired child with a demonic aura does hold importance in this story. You will find out in the next chapter hopefully, but I might focus on the couple's romance. You guys pick and I want to know your conspiracies of what will happen in the future chapters. Leave a review down below telling me about it.
Lots of love,
Rin xxx
The True Sky: Oh yes he is ;) Wonder when he will fully give in :p
Drakena: Thank you and sorry for breaking away from the recent regular updates, but here's the new chapter.
