Wizards of Waverly Place: Troubled Past
Chapter 5
….
Allen and Adrian grinned. The former concentrating his flames and sent forth a swirling vortex of flames at the enemy. The officers were so caught off guard they couldn't move. It was as if they were frozen in place, their fear of these people prevented them from pulling the trigger. They knew they needed to avenge their fallen comrade, but they just couldn't move a muscle. Briefly before the flames consumed them a few members of the police force had a flashback about an hour prior to attacking these Elementals. Officer Wright had told them how dangerous this operation would be...
...
-New York-Precinct 5
"I did some digging and I've found the culprit of the recent murders." came the voice of Officer Wright. He was an average sized man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He stared at the chief of the 5th Precinct who crossed his arms as he listened to Officer Wright speak.
"Continue, Ethan. I can tell there's a lot on your mind young man." The Chief said staring at him with his Carmel brown eyes. He appeared to be an older man in his mid-forties with brown hair that was greying at the sides. He also had a few grey patches around the front of his head.
"Ethan nods. "Yes, Chief Jefferson and before i tell you about the location and even the identity of this murderer i have to tell you all something, it may make you guys question what's possible and what's not."
The 450 Officers began to murmur, however after a shout from their Chief they quieted down and looked at Ethan waiting for him to explain himself and what he meant. "This is not to leave this room. It could cause panic within the city and even around the world." Ethan stated.
Jefferson looked at him and raised a brow but didn't say anything.
"Tell me do you believe in the possibility of Magic?"
Immediately laughter was heard as if they couldn't believe what they were hearing. It was understandable, not many people in the world knew of the existence of Magic after all. Ethan sighed and scratched his head.
"ENOUGH! Another outburst like that and I'll consider it Insubordination." Said Jefferson glaring around the room staring at his men. This instantly shut them up and they waited for Ethan to speak.
"Magic is real and those who can use magic are called...Wizards." Ethan let that set in as he glanced at his various comrades. It seemed as if they didn't believe him, but they were willing to allow him to finish, if it meant they could catch the one behind the recent deaths within New York. "I can see the sceptic looks on your faces, but I can guarantee everything i tell you here today is the truth,"
"Can you prove it?"
"Yeah! Prove it and we'll believe your words going forward."
came the words of his comrades.
"Very well." He said as he clenched a fist, he looked at Jefferson and his eyes turned into a bright orange and his right fist began to blaze with flames, The Chief looked at him shocked. He hated to admit that he didn't believe it at first but now there was no denying it. Before long he deactivating his flames allowing his eyes to return to their normal color
"So, are you saying the murderer is a Wizard? Like you?"
"No. I'm no wizard, neither is the culprit, though I do know others who are wizards." Ethan said.
"What are you then?" One of them asked.
"I'm what's known as an Elemental." Ethan replied.
"Elemental." Jefferson trailed off before glancing at the officer. "Explain. What's the difference between the two?"
Ethan nods. "I intend to sir, a wizard has the ability to turn objects into animals, turn back time, teleport and conjure the elements if they desired. They get their abilities from what I can only explain as a junction box within their home. Additionally, all wizards go through this competition if it's a wizarding family. The Wizard competition, the winner becomes the only being in the family with Magic, the family wizard. They are granted the full abilities of a wizard. They alone possess all of the magic within their family and become much more powerful than a normal wizard." He explained.
"Incredible. Are these wizards' abilities limited?"
"Not necessarily. If they can imagine it, they can make their powers do whatever they want them to do, the spell has to Rhyme with what they want it to do."
"Are Wizards more powerful than Elementals? How do your powers work."
"Right, you see Wizards are capable of a great many things and while a Full wizard is certainly powerful some Elementals could overpower them if they're fast enough. A wizard could wipe you out of existence if they so desired." Said Ethan. "And nobody would ever remember them, family, friends, lovers, etc."
"That's terrifying." Spoke one of his comrades which caused him to sigh.
"That's why Wizards have certain rules in place so magic like that doesn't get used often, now Enough about Wizards. It's about time I told you about the Elementals." Ethan balled his right fist with flames. "I'm A flame Elemental. I can control and shape my flames any way I see fit."
"Can't a wizard conjure the Elements the same as you?"
"Not on the scale that an Elemental can. With the Proper training they could take an army by surprise, eliminating them. Elementals have this special core that they are born with since birth and depending on who they're parents are they gain one single ability of wind, fire, lightning, water or earth."
The Chief closed his eyes. "I see."
"The culprit has a little over 500 men under him all around the world whose currently recruiting men to his cause."
"He's building an army..."Jefferson trailed off.
"Yeah, for what I couldn't tell you. The Culprit is known as Dahak. I want you to let me go in there first. Hopefully I can take him out, but if I can't...Please look after my sister. That is if he doesn't kill you guys too." Ethan said.
all of them look down.
"I'll do as you requested, be careful."
"Yes sir."
The chief and the rest of his comrades watched as his body turned into flames before disappearing.
"Dahak, huh...Destroyer..."
"Why do I have a feeling that we're in over our heads?"
Jefferson sighed. "That's because we probably are." He said with dread.
...
"I don't know what to say William, except that I'm sorry." Alex said, which caused him to look at her with a confused look on his face.
"Why would you be sorry? What's happening is between me and my family, you aren't even involved in this, Russo." William stated simply.
It was then that Alex realized something, the reason why he was so cold, the reason why he didn't care about anyone. Growing up he had nobody but himself and his family never showed him any kind of love and didn't show him that they cared so how was he supposed to know how to care for others?
'William, you poor thing...' she thought sadly.
