Chapter 78
Alice and Flora are now back at their Snowbelle house, Flora says, "So Ash is with Rosa styling Paris' Lopunny?"
Alice says, "Yeah, I was surprised that she wants Ash to help her style the famous Pokemon. I wanted to come, but I was busy with my acting as Elizabeth."
"Indeed. Although Eve said that she was going to fix the article... I wonder what's taking her too long?" Flora asks.
The two siblings decide to check Eve out, but just when they open the door, they are shocked to see what's going on.
"EVE!" The two sisters yell after seeing Eve passing out on the floor, Alice rushes to her and says, "Eve... what happened?"
Without any response, Alice tries to check her breath, and much to her surprise, there was about to be no pulse, Flora says, "I'll call the doctor right away!"
Alice nods as she tries to do CPR on Eve, and after a while, the ambulance comes and they all quickly send her to the Lumiose Grand Hospital.
After a while, Ash, Minami, Mark, Delia, Valerie, and Wulfric rush to the hospital, they find Alice and Flora sitting in the waiting room with tears in their eyes.
"Alice, we're here, what's going on?" Ash asks.
Alice suddenly throws herself to Ash and cries, Valerie asks, "Flora, what's going on? What happened to Eve?"
Flora says, "Eve got a sudden cardiac arrest... it's a good thing that we found her early and Alice gave her CPR, or else we would lose the time to save her... Right now Eve was unconscious and the doctors are still monitoring her condition."
Everyone is shocked to hear what Flora said, and Alice says, "Eve is an important family member to us... not to mention our future Dark Type Elite Four of the Sevestar Region. We can't lose her... she has to be better..."
"Of course, she has to be better." Ash says.
As the doctor arrives, he finds Valerie and Wulfric. "Are you the girl's parents?"
"We are. How is she right now?" Valerie asks.
"The doctors are doing their best to use AED to revive her. However, Sudden cardiac death is the largest cause of natural death in the world, and it is also responsible for half of all heart disease deaths. However, may I ask if she had smoked before?"
"Of course not. We all dislike smoking." Alice says.
"And what about the family history of cardiovascular disease?" The doctor asks, and Valerie frowns, "My grandfather had one, and that's the reason why he perished."
"I see...it might be one of the risk factors that caused the attack on your daughter. Fortunately, it is not that serious since your other two daughters perform CPR on her before bringing her to the hospital. However, she would have to stay here so that we could monitor her heartbeat."
And Ash volunteers to pay for the expenses of staying at the ward, and then they all return to Sevestar Island with Wulfric and Valerie volunteering to stay.
Back on the island, everyone hears about Eve's news, and they all feel sad for the sisters. Max says. "To think she had the cardiac attack... this is too sudden."
"I'm glad that she still has a chance to live, but does that mean she has to stay in the hospital?" Rosa asks.
"Maybe. The doctors have no idea when she'll be discharged. But I feel helpless if I can't help her..." Alice says.
"You already did CPR, and there is nothing we can do but leave the doctors to save her." Flora says.
"Doctors..." Alice mutters before she gets an idea. "I know. How about we apply for doctor licenses? It will be one of our disguises."
"Wait, are you serious? You want one of the disguises as doctor?" Ash asks.
"Being a doctor is not easy, you know. Especially you need to recognize all the symptoms and also give treatments, one error may cause several people to die as well." Nate says.
"Indeed... it is too risky..." Reisa says.
"But we have to try. If I can do anything to save Eve, I'll do it." Alice says.
"I think we can also try it out." Ash says, much to their surprise. He is looking at the phone and says, "The test is happening in a month, we'll apply for it and if we pass the test, we'll become doctors."
"But could you really memorize all of the stuff in a month?" Daniel asks. "And what about the other documents for the application?"
"It will be easy to fake them without notice." Ash says. "And for the memorization..."
Ash sends Uxie out, and everyone is surprised to see how Uxie decides to share all the knowledge about medical stuff in Ash and Alice's minds. Lillie asks, "Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, with Uxie filling your mind with medical stuff..."
"Don't worry." Alice says. "I think we're ready to take the test. Now we just need to practice."
And they don't waste any time practicing and learning medicine, while they also hear from Valerie and Wulfric about Eve's situation. The two of them use their new disguises as Gus and Eason, and they manage to pass the tests and get the licenses with flying colors.
When Alice and Ash arrive at the ward one month after, they find that the doctors and the nurses are panicking. Alice asks, "What's going on here?"
"The patient's heart is working irregularly... we will need to perform surgery or else it is going to be too late." The nurse says.
"But the doctors are busy with other patients, and there is no time left..." Another nurse says.
Alice says, "I'll do it. I may not be the doctor of this hospital, but to save my sister, I'll do anything I can." Then she shows the license, and it causes a little commotion. Despite protests, they know that there isn't much time and they quickly let Dr. Gus perform the surgery for her sister.
With additional help, they perform the Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery for Eve. Alice was a little nervous, but with the knowledge Uxie gave her, she also gains confidence and also perform the surgery as carefully as she can. In the end, the surgery is a success and Eve's heartbeat is starting to get regular.
After another month, Eve is discharged and the main doctor also thanks Alice for helping him when he wasn't available. And the news of a new doctor saving a patient with a sudden cardiac attack was spreading to the whole world, a lot of doctors wanted Alice to join their hospital, but she refuses since she wants to be a free doctor.
After a few days, Ash and Alice are working at the Team Plasma Center for some abused Pokemon, and they notice a trainer rushing in with a Munchlax.
"Hello, this is the Team Plasma Center, what can we do to help you?" Ash asks.
"I know that this is the place for caring abandoned Pokemon... but surely you have Pokemon Doctors here as well, right? The nearest Pokemon clinic is too far away and my Munchlax really needs help." The girl says.
Ash says, "Let me see the Munchlax."
Then he checks the Munchlax and finds that he has a stomachache. Ash says, "I see... it must have a stomachache. I'll try my best to save him."
"Thank you so much." The trainer says.
When he enters the medical room, Ash decides to do everything by himself, much to the doctor's surprise, and after using an X-ray and checking the symptoms, he turns to the doctor and asks, "I'm doing the correct steps, right?"
The doctor says, "O-Of course... I heard that you've applied for the doctor's license along with your wife... congratulations..."
"Thanks, but we'll talk about this later. Where did you put the medicine?" Ash asks.
"On the left shelf." The doctor says as Ash rushes to the shelf and finds the correct medicine. Then he asks the trainer to give Munchlax the medicine with the correct instructions. The trainer nods and takes Munchlax away.
And after some days, the same trainer comes back and she's thanking Ash for saving her Munchlax. Ash is glad that he made the right choice and save a life, but that also means some of the trainers will come to Team Plasma's center not for the abused Pokemon but for his health care...
"Looks like we have some problems now that we've become doctors..." Alice says.
"Yeah... I never thought that the fame would be spreading like fire in this disguise compared to the others." Ash says.
"Being Doctors is not that easy, you know. And you prove yourselves to be extraordinary, that's why you two are now as famous as Eason and Gus." Delia says. "So what type are you going to use with this disguise?" Delia asks.
"We're going to use it for Poison Type, since it is related to this kind of field." Ash says. "And that reminds me, we can go capture some Poison Pokemon."
For the Poison Type Pokemon capturing, Ash and Alice start at Fuchsia City. Alice says, "There is the most Poison Type in the Kanto Region. I wonder what we're going to capture here."
"We can try to capture both Nidoqueen and Nidoking. They are really powerful." Ash says.
"That sounds like a good idea." Alice says as they head to Route 22, but on the way, they stop by to see a group of Arbok and a group of Weezing. One of each group suddenly growls at Ash, and Alice asks, "Ash... did you know those particular Pokemon?"
Ash says, "Meowth told me that Jessie and James released an Arbok and a Weezing to the wild so they could protect the other Ekans and Koffing... and by the looks of it, they all evolve into their final forms."
"But Jessie and James are dead, did they know about that?" Alice says.
After hearing what Alice said, the two Pokemon start to form tears in their eyes. Ash says, "Judging by their expressions, they don't know the truth..."
Alice says, "What should we do?"
Ash decides to use the Rotom Phone to call Meowth, and then Meowth decides to talk to both Arbok and Weezing. And much to their surprise, Meowth also persuades them to join Ash's team, probably because of how Ash and Alice train them to become stronger and they are the ones who avenge Jessie and James. Arbok and Weezing also agree and they set up a new leader to lead the group.
And finally, they head to Route 22 and capture both male and female Nidoran. They also train the two Pokemon and also evolve them into Nidorino and Nidorina. And by using two more Moon Stones, they become Nidoqueen and Nidoking.
Arbok: Ability: Shed Skin. Moves: Glare, Haze, Belch, Coil, Gunk Shot, Crunch
Nidoqueen: Ability: Poison Point. Moves: Body Slam, Superpower, Poison Fang, Poison Jab, Sludge Wave, Earth Power
Nidoking: Ability: Rivalry. Moves: Thrash, Earth Power, Poison Sting, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Megahorn
Muk: Ability: Sticky Hold. Moves: Minimize, Gunk Shot, Sludge, Venom Drench, Mud Shot, Memento
Weezing: Ability: Neutralizing Gas. Moves: Double Hit, Explosion, Heat Wave, Sludge Bomb, Toxic, Gyro Ball
he next stop is Johto Region, and they only capture a Zubat in Dark Cave. And by training the Pokemon, they evolve it into Crobat in the end.
Crobat: Ability: Infiltrator. Moves: Quick Guard, Cross Poison, Venoshock, Air Cutter, Air Slash, Leech Life
