Chapter 79

Ash and Alice are now continuing with the Gym Challenging in the Sinnoh Region. Their first gym is Oreburgh City Gym, and the leader is Roark, who specializes in Rock Type. He uses Golem, Onix, and Rampardos to battle Ash, and Ash emerges victorious in the end and gets the Coal Badge.

The second gym is Eterna Gym and he's facing Gardenia, the Grass Type Leader. She uses Cherrim, Cacturne, and Roserade. Ash has to tell Cacturne about the news of James' death, and he is really depressed about it. But that doesn't affect him with the Gym performance, and he also gets the Forest Badge.

The third Gym is Veilstone Gym, and they're facing Maylene, the Fighting Type Leader. She uses Medicham, Machamp, and Lucario, and Ash uses his own Lucario and wins the match with ease, earning the Cobble Badge in the end.

The fourth Gym is Pastoria Gym, and they're facing Crasher Wake, the Water Type Leader. He uses Gyarados, Swampert, and Floatzel to battle, and Ash goes for his Grass and Electric Type Pokemon to win the match and gets the Fen Badge.

They also remember to capture the Poison Type Pokemon in the Great Marsh, and they capture a Stunky, a Skorupi, and a Croagunk. They train the three Pokemon and eventually evolve all of them to their final forms. The Poison Type Pokemon are for the disguises that they started five month ago.

Skuntank: Ability: Stench. Moves: Explosion, Flamethrower, Belch, Poison Gas, Memento, Sucker Punch

Drapion: Ability: Keen Eye. Moves: Acupressure, Cross Poison, Toxic Spikes, Fell Stinger, Crunch, Night Slash

Toxicroak: Ability: Dry Skin. Moves: Low Kick, Belch, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Mud Bomb, Flatter

Just then, they find a boy on Route 212, he is trying to heal a Drapion, but he seems to be panicking.

"What should I do? I forgot it again..." The boy says. "That's why I should have majored in Pokemon instead of humans..."

Ash and Alice decide to help out the boy, and Ash asks, "Is there something we can help you with? What are you doing here?"

The boy looks at them and he gasps, "Ash Ketchum, the World Champion? It is an honor to meet you in person." Then he turns to Drapion and says, "My Drapion is injured, but I didn't have any Super Potions for healing him..."

Alice takes out a Super Potion and says, "Don't worry about it. I have a Super Potion." Then she gives the medicine to him, and he uses it to heal Drapion. Ash notices the white coat and asks, "Do you happen to be a doctor? I notice your white coat and usually, doctors wear them."

The boy frowns, "I am, but I major in human treatment instead of Pokemon...and just by what happened a few minutes ago...I don't think I deserve to be a doctor..."

Ash and Alice are surprised to see the boy getting disappointed in himself. Ash says, "Don't worry, we all made mistakes, so you didn't need to worry about it."

"But..." The boy frowns. "Doctors should have prepared everything...and what I did was not supposed to happen if I am more careful."

Alice says, "We know, but what matters is that you learn from your mistakes and try not to do them again. We have some spare medicines for Pokemon. You can have them."

The boy thanks the two of them and he says, "By the way, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Tox Berlitz."

"Tox, it is nice to meet you." Ash shakes his hand with him and asks, "But why were you doubting your abilities? I mean, you can become a great Doctor if you try hard."

Tox sighs and says, "I know what you mean, but it is just that being a doctor is really hard, you have to be smart and you have to make sure that no mistake will happen. The reason I become a doctor is just because of my scores, but that was just me being a bookworm."

"I see..." Ash says with a little frown, "So you have doubts about your socialization and making prompt decisions. You said that you are majoring in human treatment, right, what about Pokemon treatment? Do you learn any of them?"

Tox nods and says, "I tried to get both licenses, but the test for the Pokemon treatment is next week and I am not sure if I can be as lucky as I apply for the human treatment license.

Ash gives him a pat on the shoulder and says, "Don't worry. We can help you with this if you want to."

Tox is now curious and he asks, "How are you going to help me? You two must be strong battlers, but you don't look like doctors that can help me a lot."

"Who said that we aren't doctors?" Alice asks, "We already apply for our licenses 5 months ago, so that's how we could help you."

"Really? You two are doctors?" Tox asks in surprise as both Ash and Alice take out the licenses, but the truth is, they aren't showing the picture and the names because they had applied it under different names and disguises. As they turn their licenses to the front, he gasps as he sees the self-photo and the name on them are Eason and Gus.

"Dr. Eason and Dr. Gus?" Tox looks at the pictures and the real person, they look not exactly the same, but when Ash and Alice glow, they become the same as the pictures. "But how..." Tox is speechless as he doesn't know how to reply to what happened in front of him.

Ash says, "Tox, we aren't normal people. We are aura users, we can disguise ourselves freely. Eason and Gus are our disguises so that we can use them for healing people."

"Wow...amazing...I heard a lot from you two..." Tox says. "Dr. Eason is said to be the best Pokemon Surgeon in the world, as he knows all kinds of Pokemon injuries and how to deal with them. And Dr. Gus is the best human Surgeon in the world, as she manages to perform a heart transplant without any accident. I can't believe that I manage to know both of them..."

"I am glad you know about us." Alice says, "Tox, I want to ask you, do you want to come with us to our hideout? We have a lot of Pokemon that are in need, you can help us treat them considering that it is a perfect chance for you to practice."

Tox is surprised as they offered him help, but he agrees as Ash takes them to the Sinnoh department of the Team Plasma base. Once they are inside, Tox sees that there are a lot of Pokemon in the health beds. Some of them are groaning in pain, while some of them are sleeping without making any sound.

"What happened to these Pokemon?" Tox asks as he is surprised to see a lot of Pokemon in the room. "And what is actually this place?"

"We are in Team Plasma's Sinnoh Department Center. As you can see. these Pokemon were abused by trainers, or hurt when the poachers are poaching them." Ash says with a frown. "Team Plasma's goal is to save them, and we helped them heal before sending them back to their free lives."

Tox gasps as he didn't know that they are a part of Team Plasma, Tox says, "I have heard of this organization...but I thought that it was an evil group in Unova..."

"That was what most people think of, but we are not evil. We just want to save as many Pokemon as we can." Alice says.

Tox nods and says, "I see, then I want to help out these Pokemon as well."

Ash smiles and Tox's enthusiasm, and then Ash and Alice decide to see how Tox will do. Even though there are some mistakes, Ash and Alice aren't the kinds of people to just yell at him. They will quickly save the Pokemon before it is too late. Tox will try to blame himself for what he just did, but Ash and Alice's encouragement just makes him continue to keep going.

After the day is almost over, they manage to heal a lot more Pokemon and bring them to Team Plasma's adoption center. Ash turns to Tox and asks, "So how are you feeling now, Tox?"

"I feel a lot better, maybe I can take the test very well. Thank you for bringing me here." Tox says with gratefulness.

"No problem." Alice says.

While healing their Pokemon, Tox takes a breath and says, "Ash, right? I heard a lot about you from my sister. You were a great trainer, but you disappeared all of a sudden and that was when we learned about the badmouthing and Team Rocket stuff."

Ash sighs, "You are not wrong about that. Believe me, I have to disguise myself as a different person so I can forget those nightmares. Eason is a self that was created with my Poison-type Aura, but we aren't going to use that to harm others."

Then Ash is confused a little and he asks, "But did I know your sister? Surely she has to know a lot about me, right?"

Tox says, "Of course, she tells me that she has traveled with you throughout the Sinnoh Region. Her name is Dawn if you forget about it."

"Dawn? She is your sister?" Ash is a little trembling. Alice notices it and asks, "So Dawn was Ash's travel companion in Sinnoh, which means that she had also gone to Pallet Town and badmouthed Ash when she was under Team Rocket's control..."

"That might be the case, and she is very sad about it. She hasn't come back home since she is on a journey to find you and also become the greatest Top Coordinator." Tox says. "Since you are here, I might as well call her to know that I found you."

Ash stops him and says, "Not right now, Tox. I would rather talk to her in person rather than use electronic devices. Before that happens, can you help me keep it a secret?"

Tox notices the sadness in his eyes and he can only nod. "Okay, I'll do it for you...But where were you if you aren't living in the eight regions?"

"I can take you there." Ash says.

They go back to the Sevestar with Tox joining them, and the others are not that surprised that Ash and Alice bring another person back to the group, and they introduce themselves to the boy as they have become friends in an instant.

Delia asks, "So he is Dawn's brother? That blue hair really proves it a lot..."

Ash nods and says, "Just because Dawn said that to me doesn't mean his brother is the same, in fact, I never met him before until today."

"I see." Delia frowns, knowing that Ash is still hurt after what happened back when everyone was under Team Rocket's control.

Then Tox also shows his Pokemon: Drapion, Amoongus, Venusaur, and Crobat. Arceus decides to give him an ancient Sinnoh Pokemon known as Sneasler, and a Nihilego. Tox is surprised that he is blessed by the Pokemon, and he agrees to help them out.

The city he asks to help is called Purgh City, which is where the Poison Gym is. And he establishes a hospital with the help of Eason and Gus so that those who are injured can go there instead of Pokemon Centers.
