Daniel, Cream and Tails: Musical Maestros

(Author's Notes: Hi everyone! I am back to make another chapter here for my friend Author danielman21!
Before I get started, I want to give praise and honor to the Lord. Thank you Lord for helping me, not only with this story but with all of the rest of my works. Your guidance, patience, wisdom, truth, understanding, love and strength have aided me in not only with my stories, but with life as well. I still have a ways to go, but I hope to be strong enough to be a better, more effective servant to you. Jesus, help me to stay with you & not to get caught in the stick webs of the world and of man, especially now in the day and age when everything is very much mixed up/messed up.
Recently, getting over a little sty I picked up in my left eye. It's a pain, but thanks to some medicine & ointment, plus good prayers from family, my eye is slowly but surely getting better!
I honestly do hope to finish this and the other projects I have been working on for others, as I wish to continue and finish my own works such as my Marco at a Crossroads story, my Danny Phantom x Dragonball crossover series & of course to resume my Disney/Toho works. I mean, do not get me wrong, it's a refreshing change of pace to make stories like this.
But I am more effective with the ones I already know, like Disney and Toho. So will do my best to make sure this story and the others receive a good ending and such, but that it does end so that I can resume my own works.
In any case, just hope you like this one here. As promised to my friend, it will be a long one.
I wish to do this for my Tia Pamela Espurova-Allen, and will keep doing it until some solid news comes in. She is working with police and other official groups to locate and bring home a missing girl that is part of a family she works with & has befriended.
Her name is Lina Khil, a little girl that was taken on December 20th, 2021. The search is still on for her, but so far… no luck.
Her information is this: She was four years old when she was abducted; hair brown, eyes brown, race Afghan, weight 55 lbs. & height 4'0. If any can help to locate and find her, please do so and notify the proper authorities. Hoping and praying still that she is found alive & returned to her family. They have put up a special about her on TV thanks to the San Antonio Police Department. Any information you wish to seek about her you can search for online, and hopefully it will help to find her and bring her back home safely.
We cannot please everyone, nor do we ever wish to do so. I believe in the words of my pastor Rick Godwin from Summit Christian Center at San Antonio and it is this: If you try to please everyone, you lose yourself entirely. So while others may not be pleased at this, it is what it is. Our aim is not to please all, but to write a worthwhile story that follows Truth. No more, no less.
There will be NO kind of characters or reference to slash or femme-slash of any kind. There will also be no trans, gender-free or gender-neutral characters or notions in this special series, nor in any of my other stories. See my Profile bio to see where I firmly stand in and at. In this I am VERY serious about! Will NOT follow ever the WOKE (STONED) movement or this New Normal junk that has been seriously poisoning the communities, people, societies and culture!
Also, will be giving certain characters OC names from the website 20000-NAMES, as I have done in my previous stories. Each name is linked to a different nation, and has a different meaning. To see what they mean, go to website to look it up.
I do not own the plot, my new Author friend does. Neither of us own Sonic X, as it is a television animated series that was created in Japan. It was directed by Haijime Kamegaki, produced by Takeshi Sasamura & Tadahito Matsumoto. The original network is was broadcasted from is TV Tokyo in Japan, and in the United States by many other networks such as Disney Channel, Jetix, Fox, 4Kids TV and more. It ran from April 2003 to April 2005.
Also, will be utilizing a level or so from the video game Sonic Forces even though I have never played the game itself.
Now, on with the story!)
It was about 4:15 p.m., and it was a relaxing moment for a certain party in the backyard fields near the Rabbit abode. Cream, Cheese, Amy and Cosmo were in the flower patches making some flower crowns while Danny, Tails and Big were sleeping underneath a large tree. The human was actually lying on Big's stomach like a makeshift pillow… one of incredible size. Big's steady breathing helped the young one go to sleep soundly, Froggy on the stomach of Danny as he too went to catch some Z's.
Cosmo looked at the flowers of blue and yellow she was working on, checking to see if she was doing her craft right. After some time, she looked to Cream and inquired, "Cream, does this look right to you?". She showed to the young bunny girl her progress, which honestly did not look that bad.
Cream smiled and answered, "It looks great Cosmo! But remember to intertwine the stems just a bit more tightly so it stays its shape.". The alien plant girl smiled, nodding her head and resuming her work but following the advice of her anthro friend.
Amy hummed happily as she worked on her own creation, looking up to her friends and stated, "I'm really glad that things are working out, and I believe that our surprise for Ms. Rabbit is going to be one to remember when the time comes to show it to her!". The pink hedgehog beauty was truly a positive soul, as it showed in her attitude and in her work.
Cheese spoke in his native tongue in an excited tone, "Chao, chao, chao! Chao!". It seemed that little blue Chao was very much buzzing with energy, making his own flower crown that was similar to Cream's.
Said adorable bunny girl giggled and translated, "Cheese is excited as well, and also glad that we have another guest in the house.". She and Cheese looked to Cosmo, who looked pleased as well but then a thought came into her head that made her a little worried.
The alien beauty spoke in a soft tone, "If your mother does let me stay…".
Cream had a concerned look on her face, sitting up and walking to her friend. She put a gentle hand on her shoulder, causing Cosmo to look up at her, smiled and stated with gentle strength and conviction, "I believe that Mother will let you stay with us. Trust me on this Cosmo.".
Feeling the gentle, yet surprising strength from the young rabbit helped Cosmo to truly hope for the best. She smiled, nodded her head and believed in the words of Cream. Said bunny girl was pleased that her words managed to get through, putting the crown she was working on the top head of her. This had her feeling more better, so she soon resumed her work.
When she had finished, that is when they heard the faint but audible sound of a powerful engine. Amy soon smiled and exclaimed, "Hey! It's my Power Pink! That means that Vanilla's here!".
This brought Cream and Cheese smiling big time, joyful that the motherly one was now back home. Cosmo was pleased, but the nervousness returned if only a small bit of it. The pink hedgehog looked to her companions and said, "Cream, you and Cheese go and greet Vanilla! Me and Cosmo will wake the boys and get everything prepared!".
The cute bunny girl nodded, Cheese taking his wreath with him so that he could give it to Vanilla. When they were gone, Amy and Cosmo went over to the boys. Cosmo went to Tails first, seeing that he looked quite cute in sound slumber like so. She kneeled down and shaking his shoulders lightly and whispering, "Tails, wake up! Wake up!".
The soft whispers and the shakes aroused Tails from his slumber, sitting up from the tree he was leaning on and letting out a loud, open-mouth yawn. He stretched his limbs, his right hand bumping into Big's side but the large cat didn't seem to notice it. He opened his eyes, wiping away the sleep crust/dust and getting his vision back into focus to see the beautiful face of Cosmo.
He inquired in a sleepy tone, "Hey Cosmo… what's up?".
She smiled in amusement and answered him in an excited tone, "Vanilla is back from her trip from Knuckles's home! Come on, we got to get ready!".
Hearing that his mother was back got Tails to rise up quick from his spot on the ground, his body soon filled back with energy quite quickly. They soon heard rustling, and saw Big being awoken as well by Amy. However, Danny and Froggy slipped off of his belly due to his movement. The frog managed to regain his senses quickly, leaping off in time to land squarely on the round belly of his anthro friend.
Danny continued to slide down, still asleep and unaware. Amy rushed in quick to catch the small human, showing that she was quite swift herself in the speed & reflex/reaction department! At being jostled slightly, Danny soon started to wake up too. The young man yawned, than looked up with his vision blurry. He rubbed his eyes in a manner that made Amy more endearing to him, then looked again with renewed vision.
At seeing the lovely face of Amy, the young human blushed a little and asked in a sleepy tone, "Amy? Yawn… Hello there.".
The pink hedgehog beauty held Danny bridal-style, smiling at him and answering, "Heh, hello there sleepy head. Come on, Vanilla just came back and we need you to get ready so that we can surprise her with Cosmo.".
Hearing that the motherly anthro rabbit was back, this caused the young Clark lad to quickly wake up. Though in doing so, he soon fully realized on his current position. His blush soon became more apparent when he saw that he was in Amy's arms. With a small giggle and smile on her face, she gently set the young human down.
Big slowly rose back up to his feet, also yawning and wondering on what was going on. Cosmo informed him of the situation, and the entire group was now fully aware.
Amy spoke up, "Okay, here is the plan. We stay out of sight until Cream has Vanilla all ready for us to come out, and that is when we introduce her to Cosmo.".
Danny pumped his small fist in the air and exclaimed, "Okay! That is a good plan! Let's go! I want to see Vanilla now!". He then rushed off, the anthros seeing the excited little one running quick. With amused smiles and chuckles from Amy, Cosmo and Tails, the group followed the excited Clark lad at a more reasonable pace.
They soon made it to the backyard, Danny already hiding behind a corner and peeking out. He was soon joined by the others, who peered around the corner to see Vanilla talking with Cream & Cheese. The floating Chao put the flowery wreath crown on the head of the motherly beauty, who smiled and thanked him.
Cream looked to her mother and asked, "Mother, do you remember Cosmo?".
The mature bunny woman had a puzzled look in her face as she answered, "Yes, I remember Cosmo from what you told me about her and the pictures that Tails showed me some time ago. Why do you ask?". Tails had managed to get himself a camera during his time on Earth, a digital one that took some excellent pictures and was easy to carry. He had taken many snapshots with it, the camera's storage capabilities allowing him to store 950 pictures.
It had aided him in not only taking snapshot memories, but also when some recon photos were needed. Once he was done, he managed to print the ones he wished to put in a scrapbook for memories so he could look upon later on. He had shown the scrapbook to the Rabbit family, and stored the book in a safe place which was a hope chest upstairs in the attic.
Her daughter answered, "Well, something happened and I believe someone here wants to meet you.". She turns and spots the others looking around the corner, gesturing for them to come forth. Danny was the first, rushing up to Vanilla and giving her a genuine loving hug from around her waist. This had the mature beauty smile and giggle softly as she returned the gesture.
Then she looked up to see Amy and Big come from around the corner… then the large cat side-stepped to show Tails with Cosmo by his side. Vanilla was certainly surprised to see the female alien, as this was the first time seeing her in the flesh and blood. Cosmo looked to be quite shy, but Tails squeezed her hand in support to give her strength.
Ms. Rabbit walked towards them, Danny following close behind with Cream and Cheese by his side. The motherly anthro bunny spoke in a surprised tone, "Oh goodness! It is good to finally meet the one my son had a crush on. But… well… aren't you supposed to be… well, a plant?".
Vanilla was told the whole story of Cosmo, which included where she sacrificed herself to give Tails, Super Sonic & Super Shadow the chance to defeat Dark Oak. It had been a sore spot for Tails, Vanilla being supportive by hugging her adoptive son & apologizing that he had to go through all of that.
It was a brief moment of uneasiness for all until Cosmo broke it by replying, "I was for some time, then through something quite amazing, I was brought back up to my real form once more.". She left out the part of the music being the thing that managed to revive her on purpose, as she knew that the others wanted to surprise Ms. Rabbit for her birthday.
Said rabbit had a look of surprise come on her face, but it quickly shifted to a motherly smile as she spoke, "Well, it is good to have you back with us. And I hope to get to know the one that captured my son's heart.".
Tails blushed bright red and exclaimed, "Mom!". This brought out some giggles/chuckles from the party as all saw the two-tailed genius becoming embarrassed like so.
Amy then spoke up, "Well Ms. Rabbit, we were wondering if… well… do you think Cosmo can stay with you? She has nowhere else to go since her home world was destroyed.".
Vanilla looked to Cosmo and Tails, her adoptive son looking very hopeful that she would accept Cosmo into their home. Said alien girl was nervous for sure, wondering if she would be either turned away or invited to stay.
It was no contest as the motherly rabbit spoke in a kind tone, "Of course she can stay. I believe we have a Guest Bed that we can bring out so Cosmo can use, but it will have to be in the living room.". This got some cheers from the group as this was truly good news for all of them, especially Cosmo as she got a look of immense relief on her face.
Danny cheered and commented, "Yay! It's too bad that Cream doesn't have a bunk bed, that way she and Cosmo can share a room.". He had tried bunk beds on home back on Earth, at one of his friends' sleepovers were one of them had a bunk bed. He liked to sleep on the bottom bunk, as Danny had a bit of a fear of heights. Not an overwhelming fear, but quite nervous when past a certain height point.
The idea did have merit for Cream, Vanilla and Tails but there were a couple of problems with that. One was that bunk beds were a bit more expensive to buy when compared to regular beds that were sold at stores. And sad to say, the village's store did not have bunk beds. There was one who could make a custom bunk bed, an anthro beaver by the name of Ronald M., who took great pride in crafting anything out of wood. However, while the quality of his crafts was truly excellent… his prices were quite high. He often said this, "Quality work demands high pay.".
And the second issue was time. Tails could have made a bed for Cosmo, though it would not be as good as made by Ronald. His expertise was invention and with gadgets, not making commercial items like bed frames and such. But it would cut into their practice time with their instruments, and that they could not afford to do since there was only a little less than two weeks until Vanilla's birthday.
And even if they did have the funds to pay Ronald, it would take about a week or so to make. So for now, the bunk bed idea would have to be put on the shelf until later on in the future.
Cosmo said to Vanilla in a tone that truly conveyed her joy, "Oh thank, thank you Ms. Rabbit! Thank you for taking me into your home!".
The motherly anthro smiled and nodded her head & replied, "You are quite welcome Cosmo. It's good to have another guest in my home, especially one that is close to my son.". Again, Tails blushed but there was no retort of any kind.
Vanilla than spoke once more, "Now, how about we all go inside and rest of a bit? I imagine that all of you had quite the time while I was gone.".
Amy remarked, "That sounds like a plan, but I need to get home and get some stuff. I'm going to stay here at the village for some time, so I need a change of clothes and such. When I come back, I'll check at one of the inns before coming back here.".
This surprised Vanilla slightly as she turned to her and inquired, "Going to stay here at the village? Why? Is it to look out after little Daniel here?". She put an arm around the child, who looked sad to see Amy saying that she was going to leave.
The pink hedgehog, at first was worried on what kind of excuse that she would give to Vanilla that she would stay in the village for two weeks without arousing suspicion. But it seemed that Vanilla had provided a suitable excuse to stay without ruining the surprise, and also Cosmo appearing seemed to add to the deal.
She answered, "Yes ma'am. I have taken a little shine to the cutie, and I would like to protect him when the time comes for him to be shown to the villagers. And with Cosmo here now, I like to do some catching up with her since she's my friend.".
Vanilla saw that Amy's words had weight to them. Danny would have to be revealed to the populace sooner or later, though she hoped it would be at the timing of her choosing instead of a villager seeing him by accident. Either way, the young human would need someone in his corner to back him up. And although Tails, Cream and Cheese were brave, it would still take someone with serious muscle power to protect Daniel.
And who had stronger muscles than Amy Rose, the only one that could lift the heavy Piko Piko Hammer like it was nothing? Not even Knuckles could really lift the weapon without some difficulty!
And it was true that Amy and Cosmo were friends before the incident that had the alien girl sacrificing herself like so. So indeed, it did make sense for friends to catch up like so.
Vanilla spoke once more, "Okay Amy. We hope to see you back here at dinnertime, and again thank you for letting me use your vehicle to get to Silver and Knuckles.".
The pink beauty smiled and replied in a chipper tone, "You got it, and no problem! If you need to use it more, just let me know and it's yours to drive or fly wherever you want!". Vanilla remarked that she appreciated the gesture & offer.
Amy turned, knelt down to Danny and gave him a soft, friendly hug & he returned the gesture in kind. She spoke to him, "I'll be back soon Danny, count on it.". He replied that he'll be waiting for her, making Amy smile and deliver a cute wink to him that made his cheeks blossom from blushing.
The powerhouse holder of the hammer waved goodbye to everyone before she hopped in her vehicle, activated it to become Land-form, and then drove away from the village. Her house was about a thirty minute drive away, so she would be back in due time.
When she was gone, Vanilla looked to Big and asked, "Are you going to stay here too, Mr. Big?".
The large anthro cat nodded his head and answered, "Going to stay in woods with Froggy near pond. Have camp there, so I'll be alright.". When it came to surviving in the wilderness, Big was no slouch. His skills in camping and also tent-making with any kind of materials were impressive, as was his fishing ability so he could always catch dinner.
Ms. Rabbit replied with concern in her tone, "Okay… but if do need a warm place to sleep for the night, just let me know please.". Big nodded his head, thanking her for the offer. He thanked everyone for a good day before turning to go, heading back into the thick woods with Froggy perched on his head.
When he was gone, Vanilla turned to her children & human child and spoke up in a cheerful tone, "Okay everyone, time to go in and rest up!".
Tails told his mom, "Well, me and the others did rest for a bit. How about you go inside and take a nap. Me, Cream, Cheese and Danny can play a nice board game while you rest up.".
Danny looked to the two-tailed anthro fox and inquired in a surprise tone, "You have board games?".
This time it was Vanilla who explained it to him. She told the young lad that during her stay on Earth, she found some board games in some of the stores that she shopped at with Mrs. Thorndyke. And on the consul of said human mother, she purchased the board games Monopoly, Jenga, Connect Four, Sorry, Guess Who?, Perfection, Chess and Battleship. And when her house was returned back to its proper place on Mobius, the games came with her as they were still in the house. It as in Tails's room, who had found the games interesting & also reminders of his stay on Earth.
This seemed to appease the young man, who was surprised that Vanilla had games from his own home world. Looking to Tails, he asked in a hopeful tone, "Can we play that Sorry game? It's one of my favorites to play back home!". He was not joking, as it was his favorite game on account the many times he did knock the pieces of his opponents out of the way. It seemed that when it came to Sorry, he was quite good at it.
Tails answered, "Heh, sure Danny! And after that, how about you and Cream play Guess Who?". The two-tailed fox had learned some time ago that Cream was quite skilled in the art of observation and deduction. While not on the level of the Chaotix group, she had shown some good insights at the game when the two played the game.
Danny nodded his head, showing that he was quite eager to play. He and Tails went in first, followed by an amused Cosmo, Vanilla, Cream and Cheese as they found the human boy's positive attitude quite infectious.
As soon as the entire group was inside, Ms. Rabbit told the young ones for them to please keep it down as much as possible as she slept. They all promised, even Danny as he made the cross sign on his heart and said, "Cross my heart, hope to die.". Vanilla smiled softly at his actions and words, planting a motherly kiss to his forehead which had him blushing slightly. The mature beauty soon went to her room, closing the door and thus starting her siesta.
Tails went into his room, being as quiet as possible, and bringing out the board games in his arms. He brought out Monopoly, Jenga, Connect Four, Sorry & Guess Who? games first, then the remaining ones. Cosmo looked at each of the game containers in puzzlement, the young alien girl soon turning to Cream and asked, "Are these games complicated to play?".
The cute bunny girl smiled and answered, "Only the Chess and Monopoly ones. The others are quite simple to understand. I'll explain the game that Tails and Danny are going to play.".
So thus Cosmo had her first lessons in board games as the anthro fox set up the guessing game for him and Danny to play.
~Later on~
It was about 5:30 p.m. when Amy came into the Rabbit abode, already set up at one of the Inns who gave her a decent price for the time she would be staying at the village. When she knocked on the door, it was Cream who answered it. She had told the pink hedgehog to quietly come in, saying that her mother was still asleep. Miss Rose had nodded her head in understanding, quietly entering the home and seeing a rather peculiar but sweet sight. Danny was playing Connect Four against Cheese, the human lad having his tongue sticking out as his face was scrunched up in focus on what to do. It was his move, but it seemed that Cheese had managed to put him in a rather difficult situation.
Cosmo and Tails were watching from the couch, amusement shown on their faces. The young ones had played some of the games, again being quite considerate and careful to not make too much noise as Vanilla was in slumberland. During the time, Cream had explained the rules of the games as best she could. And soon Cosmo tried one of the games herself, testing herself and Tails in the game Battleship.
As it turned out, Cosmo was quite good at strategy as she positioned her ships well & also using her ammo a.k.a. pegs wisely. Tails was astonished on how good she was, wondering if she had always had that kind of mine or if it was something new that had developed since her rebirth.
Upon seeing Amy, Danny was very joyful… but his loss of concentration had him place his black coin in the wrong slot, thus it went down and made it easy for Cheese to place his red coin in place, soon connecting four and winning the game. Even if he did lost, the young Clark lad did not care as he got up and ran to the pink hedgehog. He hugged her midsection tight, the potent Freedom Fighter giggling softly and returning the gesture.
After a few moments, Amy spoke in a soft tone, "Hey there little guy. It seems you really missed me.".
He nodded with a large smile on his face as he answered, "I sure did Amy! How about you? Did you miss me?". She gently released him from the hug, then bopped his nose lightly/playfully as she answered that she did, which really got his heart and spirits soaring.
Cosmo went to her and inquired, "So are you all situated now?". Amy answered that she was, staying at an Inn and that she would be all set for the next two weeks.
The pink anthro beauty then asked her alien friend, "By the way Cosmo, did you show Vanilla your special abilities yet?". While they were talking, Cheese reset the game as now his opponent was Cream.
Tails's crush shook her head and answered, "Not yet. As soon as she came home, she went directly to bed. I believe the trip to and from Knuckles's home took much out of her. Once she is awake, I will show her… I mean, if she wants to see them of course.".
Danny spoke up, "Also, Vanilla did not see any of the instruments!". Amy was glad of that news, and was really hoping that Ms. Rabbit would not see the instruments until the time of her birthday.
Amy then stated, "Well, since I am here, how about we play one of these games? Danny, what game would you like to play?". The young man answered that he would like to play Jenga with her. Now, one would worry that playing such a game that involved the long wooden blocks to fall down to make some noise that would wake up Vanilla.
However, Cosmo solved that little problem by using her telekinetic powers to stop the blocks from hitting the ground. Oh, they would fall but they would be caught in her psychic hold before they could hit the ground and make noise. So thus they could play the game without worrying about waking up the motherly anthro rabbit.
The pink hedgehog smiled and headed towards the kitchen table where the Jenga was at, all set up as shown on the box. Cosmo explained to Amy the basics of the game, the anthro beauty nodding her head and taking her place at the table with Danny opposite of her, the young man quite eager to play with her.
Thirty minutes soon passed, and Amy was slowly pulling one of the blocks from the playing block building tower that looked like it would fall down with a slight breeze! Cream and the others were watching, all holding their breath as they saw the pink hedgehog carefully remove the piece. Danny was also holding his small breath, wondering if she would succeed or not. If the blocks fell, he would win! But if she put it on top of the tower and it remained standing, it would be his turn and most likely he would lose the match.
Amy removed the block, the tower swaying but still standing. She said to herself, 'Now comes the tricky part.'. She realized some time ago that Jenga was a game that focused on the combination of skill, dexterity, planning… and a lot of luck to get the right block out and put it on top. She doubt that any of the others such as Sonic, Knuckles, Rouge, etc. would be able to play the game.
She reached up and put the block in place as gently as she could… but the slight pressure and shift caused the blocks to come tumbling down! Cosmo was quick on the draw, using her newfound psychic powers to catch the blocks before they could clatter on the table.
However… it was precisely at this time that Vanilla's door opened and emerging in some casual clothing was the motherly anthro bunny herself. She was about to say something until her eyes looked to see the others, and said eyes widened as they saw the blocks being held by a light blue aura!
She gasped softly and spoke, "Oh my goodness!".
Her words were enough to have everyone look to her direction, Cosmo losing her concentration and the blocks clattering on the table. Now she was very nervous, as she wanted to show the one who was taking her into her home her abilities, but it seemed that the timing was off now.
The mature beauty walked towards them with a small smile on and said, "I see that you have powers like Silver.".
Cosmo was a bit confused until she remembered earlier from conversations with Tails on some of the friends that she had not met yet, but hopefully will soon in the future. She was told about Silver, a silver hedgehog from an alternate future that possessed telekinetic powers like she did. But that his powers were more advanced and powerful then hers, and it could be some time before her abilities would be able to match his.
During that time, she was wondering if perhaps she could have psychic gifts that not even Silver possessed. It was a thought, but that was for the far future.
The plant alien girl spoke in a timid voice, "I'm sorry. I was going to show you later on, like in a real demonstration.".
Vanilla smile grew a little as she replied in a gentle tone, "It's okay. I believe that this is a good enough demonstration right here. I just hope that you are more careful with your power like Silver is.".
Tails put in, "Well, she just got this power now. It seemed that when she was reborn, she gained some abilities that not even her own people thought they could have.".
Danny added in with excitement in his tone, "Yeah! She is really good at it though, as she spun me and Cream around like a merry-go-round! It was so much fun!".
The patient anthro bunny woman went to the excited human child, patting his head and replying, "I'm sure it was dear. At least you and Cream didn't get hurt, and that is what counts.". She turned to Cosmo and said that using her powers in the house was okay, just as long as she got enough practice and also to keep the others safe from harm. Cosmo promised that she would do as she requested.
Vanilla looked around the room as she went into the kitchen and stated, "Well, it seems that you have been busy keeping yourselves entertained while I was asleep. And I am very grateful to you all for keeping it down while I slept. But since I am up and going to make some dinner now, can you all please put up the games?".
Danny, Tails, Cream and Cheese nodded their heads as they left their spots to go back to the living room to put up the various board games. Cosmo used her psychic powers to pick up the Jenga blocks and put them up correctly back in their container.
Amy went to Vanilla and asked, "So Ms. Rabbit, what are you planning to make for dinner tonight?".
She started to take some ingredients out of the refrigerator, which consisted of shredded cheese and some pepperoni slices. Now it let be known to all that while Mobius did have sentient anthro lifeform on the planet, there were still animals that… well, remained animals. That they did not evolve to become like the citizens of Mobius. And while Cream and Vanilla were rabbits, they did the occasional meat though they did prefer to eating plants like salads, fruits and such.
Ms. Rabbit answered Amy, "I plan to make some homemade pizza for dinner tonight. So could you…".
She was interrupted when Danny shouted out in joy, "You're making pizza?! Yay! I love pizza! I like pepperoni and sausage pizza! But… can you really make one? My Mommy and Daddy usually order pizza, or put one from the freezer into the oven.". At the last part, he had a puzzled expression on his face that looked quite cute in the eyes of Amy and Vanilla.
Vanilla answered him in a motherly tone, "I am going to make a homemade pizza. It takes a bit longer, but it is more better than store-made pizzas. That I promise you.". Ms. Rabbit was indeed an excellent cook, and also learned some tricks of the trade from Mrs. Thorndyke. Lindsey had shown the anthro beauty some cooking shows, and also educated her in the ways of making something homemade like pizza. True, it made more of a mess than usual, but the pizza did come out quite edible. The two had formed a friendship bond over making food, and also on how much they cared about their respective children.
She had gotten some practice in while on Earth, getting better with her cooking skills and also continuing even after she & the others had returned to Mobius. In fact, if she was back in Earth, most would recommend her to top cooking competitions like Master Chef.
Danny was excited, very much wanting to try homemade pizza. While his parents were adequate cooks, they were not skilled to handle more higher-class level of food. They tried… but sadly the dishes never came out as good as advertised either in the cookbooks they tried or on the shows they watched.
Amy aided the mature anthro woman, being her assistant as she grabbed the necessary ingredients. Danny and Cream helped out where they could, Tails talking to Cosmo on the couch with Cheese nestling on her lap.
~Later on~
7:00 p.m. soon came to be, and at the table were the Rabbit family along with their new guests. In the middle of the table were two large plates that had pizza on it; one contained only cheese pizza, the other had pepperoni toppings. By the pizzas were two large bowls; one that contained salad, and the other containing fruit peach slices. At each of the chairs were plates along with glasses, each filled with some fruit punch juice that was similar to Kool-Aid.
Vanilla was sitting at the head of the table, Danny on her left, Cream on her right. Amy was situated near Danny, Cheese besides Cream. Cosmo was on Tails's left side as he was sitting at the other head of the table.
Ms. Rabbit smiled and proclaimed, "Alright everyone! Dinner is served!". The others let out a small cheer before getting the food that they wanted ever since they laid their eyes on the dishes.
As they started to eat their chosen food, Cosmo wanting to eat some salad and peach slices instead of pizza, the alien girl asked a question, "Ms. Rabbit, I know that I will be sleeping in the living room. But where will Danny sleep?".
Vanilla, as well as the others, saw that Cosmo had a good point. Danny looked to the motherly anthro bunny, curious now on where he would sleep. After some thought, Vanilla smiled and answered, "Oh, I believe Danny will be sleeping with me. Tails, do you have some pajamas her can wear?".
Her two-tailed fox son replied back, "Hmmm… ah! I think I have a set! I have outgrown it a little, but I think it would be a good fit for him. A bit big in some places, but it would still fit him.".
Danny exclaimed with joy, "Yay! Going to spend the night with Vanilla!". Said woman smiled, glad that her new charge did not mind sleeping with her. She knew that Danny was comfortable with her, and also that he might sleep well if he was with her. Some room arrangements and such would be in order tomorrow, but for now, things would have to do.
Amy swallowed a bit of her pizza and inquired, "So Vanilla, what are your plans for tomorrow?". She wanted to know so that she could be ready to have practice with Tails and the others.
The mother of Cream and Tails thought on it for a moment, than looked to her pink guest and answered, "Well, I think one of them is to see if I can get a new bed for Cosmo since she will be staying here for some time. And also see if I can do some arrangements on the house to accommodate her.".
Cosmo spoke up, "Wait! What if I try to find a house of my own? I mean, I don't want to be a bother or anything like that.". Tails came to her aid, saying that she was not a bother at all which made the alien little lady blush a little from his words.
Vanilla had to stifle a small chuckle as her son was being a gentleman, coming to the aid of his crush like so. She then looked to the couple and stated, "You're not a bother at all Cosmo, so don't worry. But perhaps in the future, the far future, maybe we can find you a new home. One that is here in this village, of course.".
Amy put in, "You know, I did see a house during my trip from and back here. It's near the entrance to the village, and it looks like it's been abandoned for some time.".
Cream explained in her adorable tone, "That home once belonged to the Crow family, but they all moved out about six months ago after Robotnik tried to attack this place. It seemed they were fed up with the attacks and moved quick, just leaving it as is. And no one else seems interested in it.".
Indeed, it was as the anthro bunny girl had stated. The home had once belonged to a family of anthro crows, but after enduring another of Robotnik's assaults & even after said attack was repelled thanks to Tails, Sonic and Cream… they decided to try to live in another town that was hopefully far away and isolated enough to be ignored by the human doctor and his machines.
Ms. Rabbit spoke up, "We shall see in the future. For now, let's enjoy the present. A lot has happened today after all, so just best to take it easy for now.".
The dinner continued on with light conversation, everyone enjoying the food and company. When everything was eaten, the entire group helped Vanilla to clean up the table and the kitchen with Danny being the most energetic to help out. Once everything was clean once more, all went into the living room were Cosmo brought some entertainment by using her powers to levitate and move around some small objects.
Luckily for her and also Vanilla, there were unbreakable objects such as books and toys, and also of little to no value if they did just torn/broken. Amy, Cream, Cheese and Danny cheered at the display, Cosmo enjoying the applause from them & also the look of a good kind pride that came from Tails. The alien girl kept at it for about thirty minutes, but she soon ceased her levitation act, the items dropping gently to the ground.
Cosmo was panting a bit, showing to all that prolonged use of her newly acquired telekinetic powers put a strain on her being. Tails went over to see if she was okay, the alien beauty smiling softly at him and answering that she was good if just a bit drained even after the meal she had. It seemed that using telekinesis took some energy as well.
The group soon played Charades, imitating many kinds of creatures and beings. Amy, Vanilla, Cream, Cheese, Tails and Cosmo laughed as they saw Danny imitating Robotnik by putting one of the throw pillows under his shirt & walking around like an overstuffed egg. He also tried a very poor imitation of the doctor's voice, the young lad having seen some videos of him back home. This had Amy and Tails laughing so hard, the duo clutching their sides with tears of mirth coming forth.
After the game, the group got together to get the Guest Bed that was in the storage space closet. It was a Full-XL size bed, and some spare sheets & bed covers that would be suitable for it. Tails and Cosmo moved the couches and other things to make room to put the bed in, Vanilla and Amy moving the mattress into place as best they could with Cream, Cheese and Danny guiding them.
Soon it was 8:30 p.m., Vanilla calling out, "Okay everyone! It's time to get cleaned up, and ready for bed! Tails, you have the bath first. After you, it's Cosmo, Cream, Cheese and finally Danny in that order.". She had her own shower in her bathroom upstairs, so she would get cleaned up as well.
Amy had wished them all a goodnight, saying that she would come to see them in the morning. She leaned down and gave Danny a soft goodnight hug and kiss on the cheek, making the young human go so red that he resembled a strawberry with a big smile on his face. Giggling softly at his reaction, Amy then left the abode to go back to the inn she was staying at.
Tails went into the bathroom downstairs, making sure to get himself all cleaned up thoroughly before exiting with a towel around his waist. Next was Cosmo, the young lady also making sure that she was clean & the warm water felt refreshing to her since she was a plant. After her was Cream and Cheese, the duo showering together with no problem as they had done it in the past.
Once they were all clean and done, it was Danny's turn though it was different for him as he was taking a shower for the first time. He always got cleaned up by taking baths, so this was a bit new for him. But thanks to some instructions from Vanilla, who called to him from the other side of the door, he managed to take the shower but being extra careful not to slip down.
It was soon 9:15 p.m., the whole group soon clean and tidy. Tails was in his pajamas, lending one of his old ones to Danny. The small human looked a bit silly as the sleeves and legs were a bit long on him, but it would have to do for now.
The ladies giggled at the sight of the young human, Danny just smiling bashfully as even he looked a bit silly when he looked in the mirror. Vanilla bent down and ruffled his head gently and asked, "Heh, you do look adorable there Danny. Are you comfortable in it?". He nodded his head, saying that it was okay despite the loose parts on his arms and legs.
Smiling softly down at him, Vanilla rose back up and stated, "Okay everyone, time for bed!". She knew that her children would stay up, doing quiet activities in their rooms until they got tired to officially sleep.
Cosmo asked, "Umm… do you mind if Tails and Cream stay with me for a bit? I would like to talk with them a bit more before going to bed.". Seeing no harm in this, Vanilla nodded her head at this and trusted that her children would not stay up too late. The motherly anthro bunny picked up Danny, who clinged tightly to her like a koala bear, and went on up to her room.
Once the door clicked, Cream, Cheese and Tails got on the Guest Bed with Cosmo. The two-tailed fox looked to his crush and asked in concern, "Cosmo, is something wrong?".
The alien girl took a moment to gather her thoughts and answered, "It's just… with everything that has happened, everything feels new to me. I may have my memories even when I… well, you know. And with my new abilities, having a new home and such… kinda overwhelming.".
Tails brought her into a gentle hug, the action taking the young alien by surprise but it was not in an unpleasant way. He whispered softly to her, "It'll be okay, Cosmo. We'll take everything one step at a time. And don't worry, things will fall into place soon. Just know that me, Cream, Cheese… everyone will be here to help you.".
Cheese spoke in his native tongue while patting Cosmo on the head, the little guy saying that Tails was right. Cream also put in her support, saying that she would help out as well. This brought a surge of positive emotions within the plant girl, who had tears of joy as she fully accepted the words of her friends. It was truly a moment for them, one that would make anyone reach for their camera devices to capture it on film.
Meanwhile, Danny was on Vanilla's bed as he looked around the place. The whole room was cozy and inviting, warm and comforting like the motherly anthro rabbit herself. There was a desk nearby with a vanity with make-up on it, but there was honestly not that much on it. To Danny, it looked like what his mother had. Both women apparently only applied light touches of make-up that enhanced their already amazing beauty.
On the right of the bed was a bookcase that had many books of varying sizes, some from Mobius and some from Earth that Vanilla had managed to obtain during her stay on said planet. On the left was a stand with a lamp on it that had a golden base, a metallic-silver post with a red circle with a star in the middle that would provide the light. The young human had a quizzical look on his face, wondering why someone would make a lamp like that.
Nearby was another room that led to the bathroom, Vanilla's own personal one where she was now changing into her nightclothes. While he was waiting, Danny examined the plush, soft blanket that was large and seemed to be handmade. The bed was also Queen-sized, very plush and firm at the same time. He looked to his right to see a window that was in a circle, and from it came the soft moonlight.
The door to the bathroom opened, and stepping forth was the lovely motherly rabbit in a deep-purple nightgown that was modest and comfortable. Ms. Rabbit looked to her human charge with a smile and asked, "Are you ready to go to bed, little Danny?".
The young man smiled and jumped up and down in excitement & replied, "Yes Vanilla! I am ready to go to bed!".
Vanilla smiled and made her way to the bed, climbing on it and pulling the covers over them. Danny went to snuggle by her side, the scent and warmth of her body having a more calming effect than the blanket was doing. Vanilla clapped her hands to turn off the lights, an innovation that Tails had managed to install in her room two months ago.
The room was now aglow with the soft, silver light that was coming from the moon. Danny then had a thought, looking up to Vanilla and asking in a soft tone, "Vanilla… do you think my parents are okay?".
This had the anthro bunny look at him in concern, seeing the eyes of the young human shining with hope with a mixture of concern. She smiled softly, brought him closer to her and answered in an honest tone, "I believe that your parents are okay. Wherever they are, I believe that they are okay and are thinking of you.".
This had Danny smile in relief, believing her and snuggling more into her. Vanilla comforted him as best she could, saying a little prayer to the High One Above that Danny's parents were alive and being taken care of. She then started to doze off, the little human safe and secure in her arms.

Before I do anything else, I wish to give thanks and honor to the Lord. Thank you Lord for looking after me, my family, my friends and those out there in the world that need you. It is always troubling to see bad news nowadays, but thankfully I look to you for strength and help. I ask you Lord to please look over the people that stand firmly with out, and stand against this WOKE (STONED) movement and New Normal! You can do anything Jesus, and I will always look to you for strength, guidance, energy, vitality and Truth!
I continue to hope and pray to see good news come in, and less bad news in the country and in the world.
Tails and the others manages to hide the instruments to keep their surprise a secret, and also have some fun to ease the tensions. It seems some thought has come up concerning Cosmo's future, but that will come much later. Right now, they have to just take things one day at a time.
Also, I hope you all like the little Easter Egg I put in here. Vanilla's lamp is actually the Checkpoint Goal that is used in the video game Sonic the Hedgehog 2! I like the classics, especially the games I played back as a kid on my Sega Genesis.
In addition, I put a little bit of my family here. Back in the day, long before the plague known as COVID-19, our family used to make homemade pizza. It was different, but it was good! Sometimes we make it still, but it is for special occasions. Also, we did play board games as a family & my fave was Sorry as I liked to bump my opponents off the board! Hehehehe…
