Welcome back to the adventure! To recap, Luz life returns right back into the rut. A mysterious Pokémon stolen her bag turn her whole world on its head as she meets her new teacher, Eda. Dark forces start to gather as it forces the duo to team up and fight them. This year will get flip on its head.
Luz is on the makeshift battlefield, training with Eda. The lady returns her pokemon as Luz tends to Viper. "Not bad kiddo." Eda praised. "Still rough but your battling is good." Luz smiles at her two pokemon. King, who was sitting on the sidelines, joins Luz as Eda checks on her pokemon. "So how did you meet your pokemon?" She looks at her two pokemon. "These two? Viper was a recent addition to my team and well Azura here." Luz takes a good look at her ghost and the ghost smiles. "She is the last member of my last team. Still is my ace." Her Misdrevus cuddles closer to her. "I Totally get that, but what about this previous team? Why don't you use them?" King says but turns and sees the young girls sadden in thought. "Luz? Luz you okay?" When Eda join them, she comforts her. "King that might be sensitive to her." Eda points out. "I lost them…" Both Cubone and the lady look confused on Luz whispers. "You lost them as in?" Eda being more concerned. "I don't know where they go … I simply lost them in a haze." There was a long brief silence for the three of them.
Luz finally speaks, "So you're gonna finally tell me how you two meet and how you can speak king." She hugs her ghost like a plushie. "Well," Eda rolls her hands, "I found King when I was exploring in Eastern Providence. Well offshore to be more precise." She takes a look at king. "I raised him when he was just an egg." "Eda also taught me how to speak, I just naturally pick it up." Luz tilts her head. "But it does not usually happen like that from the rest who were born the same way as you King?" King huff. "Maybe I'm just special." Eda cracks a small smile. "Luz, let me talk about how you battle. It's something I notice." The young lady turns her head and hears what she has to say. "You're good at battling, but it feels like you're fighting with just the sake you're fighting." "What do you mean?" Luz asked. "I know you want to win Luz, but your heart isn't in it." Luz looks away trying to find some form of excuse. "It's true that I just battle just to battle and get it done with." Eda patted her in the back. "Something is really on your mind that you can't put your heart into." The poor owl lady watches her new student hugging herself close as her two pokemon comfort her. That gave her an idea to break the ice a little.
Eda gets up, "Let me get you something." As she goes into the house and grabs it. When She comes back she kneels on the ground where the rest of them were sitting. "Kiddo hold your hand out." She does and the lady puts a pokeball into her hand. "Is there a pokemon in this?" Luz looked at it then at Eda. "It is, I was going to give him to you if you got better but you two both need a friend. Better now then later." Luz bear crushed her teacher as she tried to get out Luz grasp as Azura hovers over both of them smiling. "Thank you Eda!" Luz finally lets go as Eda straightens herself after that hug. "He is battle ready, use him in your next battle." Luz nods. "Hey Luz, your little alarm is going off your phone." King points out as a small ringtone is going off. "Oh arceus, I'm going to be late for class! I gotta go!" She runs over and grabs her bag and starts to book it but without not waving goodbye to both Eda and King both wave her off. "She has a heart but looks like she needs to conquer it herself." She watches Luz disappear over the hill.
*BGM Naranja Academy Classroom - Scarlet and Violet*
Luz runs as fast as she can to get to her class on time. Today she's with Ms. Dendra, pokemon battle teacher. Her classroom is in the big courtyard. She rushes on by students until she hits someone. "Ow ow ow…" Luz gets up and she sees what she hit. "You have some nerve to be running into me." The green hair girl said as Luz offered to help her up. She scoffs as she gets up on her own. "Umm sorry about that umm…" Luz trying to recover from her mistake. "Amity, Amity Blight and don't you forget that." The girl stares down at Luz's soul as she is a little shaken by her stare. "Um! Right, sorry Amity, it won't happen again!" "Should you be going now?" The raven hair teacher said as she was observing this whole exchange. In Luz panic she started to book it. Amity and Lilith look on as Luz runs, following her but at her pace. "So that's Luz …" Amity mumbles to herself as Lilith follows her.
Luz sat cross leg as she listened to Dendra class. She made it on time but what made this uncomfortable was that the same girl she met was staring at her in the back of her head. She focuses on her teacher, A young woman in her black tracksuit. She rambles battle tactics that Luz already knows but she needs to keep focus on her rather than the green hair girl shooting daggers at her. She just bumps into her but she feels like she is planning to murder her for her mistakes. "So today will be battle practice to warm up for our big day in the next few weeks. " Her teacher said. "So today we got time to observe one match." Dendra looks into her crowd of students and eyes land right onto her. "Luz since your well verse in battle I will choose you and for your opponent…" Amity slowly raised her hand but, "how about the young man, I know he's itching to battle." Amity turns to see who it was and gasps in shock at who it was. Luz turns to see who it was as well.
The young man is none other than the foreigner she met during the beginning of the school year, yet in their school clothes. Donning a gray suit uniform, the only thing that made him stand out was the orange gloves, an orange tie, and the orange converse. The man shrugged as he got up from his grassy seat and started to walk over to the battlefield that was right behind the teacher. There were a few mumbles in the crowd of students as Luz got up and made it to her spot on the battlefield. "Is this guy famous or something?" Luz stares down her opponent. More murmurs are coming from the crowd. "She sooo screwed." One of the students said in a whisper. Although Luz heard that she calms herself. Half across the courtyard, Lilith observes the class but not too near it to disturb it.
The guy looked at her, "Oh ho! It's you! Ms. Senorita!" The guy exclaimed. "Fate has weird ways for us to meet again!" Luz nods. "Hello again." Acknowledging him. "Well, you wonder who the heck I am. Well I don't blame ya." He goes on. "My name is Blaze, one of the many international trainers but made my name by being at the top, consistently." He closes his eyes. "I've been to many places, fought the hardest opponents , seen so many things." He opens them smiling at Luz. "In my recent adventure, I have got to quarter finals to both Galar and Remnant Pokemon Leagues but my biggest achievement to date was being recognized as pokemon champion of the Hoenn region Hall of fame." "Woah…" She blinks at this guy's achievements. No wonder why he was big. "So when I saw ya battling the new kid, it seemed like you got a lot of potential. Now I got the chance to see your full display of skill." He raises his fist. "Now let's show these classmates of yours what we're made of!"
"This will be a three on three," Dendra announced. "Luz, I know you've been using two but do you have a third?" Luz looks at her teacher and smiles looking at her new pokeball. " This time I have my third." She looks back at her teacher. "Osu! Then when you're both ready!" She readies herself to judge the battle. Blaze, with a calm demeanor, snatched a pokeball from his hip, activated it and held it as he had a confident smile.

*PKMN Trainer Blaze would like to battle. *
Luz pulls out her pokeball and tosses it. "Go! Viper!" The ball releases the purple tiny bat. It takes a few stretches and then starts to hover with its small wings. " The stage is set and the spotlight is on! The opening act begins! Let's go Poogie!" With a spin of his body, Blaze tossed his pokeball and out came a chunky but small pink pig. Somes students gasp at the pig as well as Luz. "Wait, that's a Lechonk." Luz questions. "They are usually black skin pigs, Why is this one pink!? She exclaimed. "Simple, apparently it was shiny." He calmly answers as he shrugs. "WHAT!?" Mostly all the students roar out in astonishment. "How?" Luz asked. Blaze starts to recollect how he got it.
'"I was simply minding my own business exploring "south province" and seeing new pokemon." Blaze looked around where there was a cliff overlooking the rest of the sea. "There was a Happiny nearby where I went gung-ho to add it to my team." Blaze eyes gleam as he sees a mini Chansey and ready a pokeball. "Until I notice the Lechonks chilling nearby." Blaze noticed there were two pigs chilling and eating grass. One is black and one is pink. "I pull out my dex which is which." He pulls out a pokedex as it shows the image of the pig in it. "Then I immediately gung-ho for it." Blaze eyes gleam red as the pink lechonk felt a terrible presence coming at it.'
"I got lucky I guess." He laughs it off. "And I still got the happiny." He laughs that one off too. 'Huh so this what champion privilege feels like.' Luz deadpan. "Okay no more distractions, let's go Poogie! Start this off. Use tackle!" With that command the pig gives a nod and starts to charge at the flying bat. "Air Cutter!" Luz gives the command, and the bat starts to rapidly produce as the wind starts to tear into the pig. The pig persists, even if the shy pig starts to cry and full-on tackle into the bat. The bat gets knocked into the ground as the pig stands over it. "Okay hit it with an Echo Voice!" The pig screamed as the bat held its sensitive ears down. Luz held her own ears. "Viper, use Wing Attack!" The bat gets up and immediately swoops to smack the pig silly with its wing. "Headbutt Poogie!" Lechonk backup from he slaps and then charges back in amd smash its head to the head of the bat. The bat flinches from the attack. "One more time! Smash it in!" With another command of the young man, the pig smashed its face in the bat. Luz get little more serious. "Okay let it rip, Viper use Dragon Pulse!" With a shock Blaze, Noibat opens its mouth as a pulsating energy engulfs the pig whole. "We're not out yet! One more time Poogie!" Out of the energy attack came a dead-set pig ramming its head in the bat. This attack was much harder than the other two. The bat collapsed onto the floor. Blaze fist pumps but Dendra doesn't call the knockout yet until suddenly from all the sustain damage the pink pig falls. "Both pokemon are unable to battle, draw for both of them. Good show!" Few students clapped as both trainers retired their pokemon. "Ous! Next round!" she held up her arm.
"Not bad Luz! Let's see if you can handle this one!" Holding out his pokeball he closes his eyes. "With her power, to become a queen, grow with wisdom and the power it holds. Descend into a new beginning!" As he says that he does a gesture that references something Luz saw from somewhere. She couldn't for the life of her remember what it was. "Let's go! Zelda!" He tosses his ball and pops out a small humanoid green hair like creature who does the same gesture Blaze did before. It looks like a kid in small sleeping clothes. "A Ralts. Okay I can match that! Go Azura!" Her ghost pops out of her ball and with a wink, floats onto the field. "But really "Zelda" … you're a gaming nerd huh?" Blaze only can rub his head from embarrassment. "Hey it was a convenient psychic type and Special attacker!" He chuckles. Dendra looks at both students' banter and as they set themselves to continue. "Hajime!" she throws her arm down to signal to continue the match.
"Azura, let's hit him hard! Shadow Ball!" The ghost produces a dark blob and spits at her opponent. "Trying to hit me hard huh! That's not gonna work! Zelda, Confusion!" As Blaze commands, the small humanoid focuses hard on the shadow blob and stops its mid-air as well simultaneously striking the ghost by the mind. It spreads its tiny arms and the ghost tosses aside as well as the shadow ball flying off course. "Oh, you want to play nasty, I'll play nasty, Psybeam!" With Luz's command, the ghost gets up and with some concentration fire from its gem and psychical energy beam at the tiny creature. "Psybeam!" The tiny ralts focus its energy into its arms as a small ball of the same energy is built up and then fire back at the other beam. The two beams meet, and they explode on contact as smoke and debris fill the field. As the smoke clears the tiny humanoid looks around for its opponent and out of nowhere the ghost scares the little creature. Zelda was shocked by the sneak attack. "Now while it's down, time to turn in the favor. Shadow ball!" Being one step of her master plan, The ghost charges another dark blob and fires at the ralts. It hits clean onto the shock ralts. "Tch, we're just getting started!"
"Zelda, strike fast! Drain Kiss!" The small green humanoid gets up and leaps up to the ghost. The ralts give a kiss on the cheek of the ghost, making it blush. The confused ghost blushes at a prolonged kiss on the cheek. "Azura, that's not a friendly kiss! It's taking your energy!" The ghost snaps out of the trance as its eyes roll back. The tiny green creature stops the kiss, leaps off it and sticks the landing. Energy comes back into the ralts as Blaze two finger salutes. "Thanks for that!" Luz puffs a little but smiles at his antics. "Not letting get aways with that! Azura, Astonish!" Her ghost vanishes again, and this time did the exact same thing from last time and scared the poor creature. She gives a little kiss after being in a shock state. "Okay let it rip! Shadow Ball! The ghost prepares a shadow blob. "Oh no you don't! Psywave!" Ralts refocused and held a charge of psychic energy ready. They both fire at the same time. The attacks pass both the other moves and strike each other. The poor creature gets buried into the ground and the ghost gets sent flying off to Blaze's side of the field. It hits the floor as the ghost could not be able to battle. The smoke clears to see the poor ralts bury five feet under. "Both Pokemon are unable to battle." The class cheers as a fantastic round of battling by both trainers. "Hehe, I made the right call for both of you having the practice battle, you got the class riles up!" Dendra observes her class cheering on both trainers.
Both retire both their second pokemon and Luz looks at her last one. Blaze on the other hand pulls up his. "So that was your leader, this new pokemon you just picked up huh?" He asked. "Yeah … it was a gift from a lady named Eda." As Luz said this, Lilith in the back was wide-eyed when she said that. "Eda? Eda back here in Paldea?" The raven lady said to herself. She pulls up a necklace and opens it to find a small photo. It had two small girls in it. One with glasses with orange hair and the other in her hair out of control and long. The girl was on the other shoulder. The glasses girl was barely holding her books when the shot was taken. She closes the locket up. "Yes she's…" Luz looked for words, "still working on our friendship you can say." She gives a soft smile. The man gives a hearty laugh. "Well if you say it like that then this person definitely believes you have something!" He put his pokeball onto his heart. "The stage is set; the lights dim onto the star of the show. Time for the closing act!" With a hard toss of the pokeball. "It's showtime! Let's go Pato!" It opened and out came a small, stylized duck with a wicked hairstyle. It combs it to the side and then gets serious for battle.
Luz looked at her pokeball. "If you trust me so much Eda to use this, then i'll put my heart into this battle." She looked at her opponent and activated the ball to grow it in the size of her hand. "Go!" She tosses the ball and it opens up. What came out was a white small owl. It has a brown feather head and a leafy green bowtie. "She gave me a starter!" She held her heart. "And it's Rowlet nonetheless!" The fancy owl looks back to its new master. "Hey little buddy. Eda said you were lonely. If you don't mind, can we battle together, as new friends?" The small owl looks away from Luz for a second and thinks to itself for a moment. In a few seconds the owl nods. It turns itself around and lets out an intimidating hoot to the duck. Both birds and trainers lock and ready for battle. "Rowlet Verses Quaxly! Let the final round begin!" Her Teacher Announced.
"So you gonna do your crystal thing?" Blaze asked. Luz thought for a moment. "No, I don't think I will be doing that." With a wide grin, "Ah, we're going old school. I like it! Then prepare to face my future captain of the Paldea champion team!" He then makes an intimidating fighting pose. "Show me your spirit Luz!" With the fiercest face, "Pato! Use Wing Attack!" The little duck, with a spring in its step, charges at the owl. "Let's see what you can do. Rowlet, use Shadow Sneak!" The owl's eyes gloves red as it melts into the shadow and disappears from sight. The duck gets confused from where its opponent disappears. On instinct, the duck is about to check it's behind as a razor-sharp wing cut clean in the back. "Aqua Jet!" The duck caught its footing and as water forms from its feet as it zips fast to deliver a watery kick in the body to the bird. "Let's follow up with a Double hit!" The duck does a fancy kick to make the bird recoil from the attack. "Now Rowlet, use Razor Leaf!" The owl back a few steps to hover into the air. Its wings glow green as it launches a few sharp scythes like an attack coming at the duck. The duck dodges a few of the attacks but gets nailed by the rest of the scythes. Being cut at every frontal angle, the duck still stands. "Ay Bastos! (rude) Water Gun!" The duck itself inhales as it fires off a stream of water and directly impacts the owl. It pushes back the owl. They both stare at each other, a little worn down from the battle.
"Hehe. Luz finally seeing you getting into this battle." Blaze smiles. "Yea … it feels good." Luz smiles as well. "I'll be honest, I don't see your heart into this battle." He studies Luz. "This battle saying a lot, something is hurting you." "How do you know?" Luz gets a few curious eyes. "When you fight, you can tend to know the person's feelings through the fight." Blaze starts to explain. "Your pokemon can sense your feelings, and act and respond in kind. There was a certain sadness from your pokemon that was holding them back." Luz keeps focus on her opponent's words. "And the biggest tell for me is that most trainers; the ones who are good,have a burning fire when they fight. Not you." He briefly pauses. "Even with all your skill you have, not even you have that fire going." Luz ponders on the foreign words and Eda's as well. "The Blaze, let's get back into it." She puts up a fighting stance as Rowlet prepares to fight." The man observes her and smiles. In her eyes there was a small lick of her fire burning. Small but it's there. "So, your spirit is there. It's getting me excited. Let's finish this." He goes into his own fighting stance as quaxly is ready to do battle. "Can the weirdo, do it? …" one of the student's whispers. The navy-blue girl adjusting her glasses. "She can." She watches the battle continue.
"Luz let's end the show shall we! Pato! Use Aqua Jet! Close the distance!" With a command from the man, water starts to form around the duck and dashes away. It closes in on its opponent, preparing to kick it. "Rowlet! Use Razor Leaf!" Luz command was here as the owl started to throw out those same razors leaf at the duck trying to stop it. The duck dodges and weaves around them but one catches its knee and it tumbles right in front of the owl. Then Luz sees it and her eyes widen. There was an imaginary aura around the trainer and it's burning bright. "I'm not down yet! Wing attack!" The small owl is shocked that the duck can stand as it glimpses its eyes having that same aura as its master. It quickly gets up and unable to move, the duck starts to smack the owl with its wings in rapid succession. "No! Get out of there Rowlet!" The bird pecks the duck as it flinches and gets away from the attack. "Don't let it get away! Aqua Jet!" The duck starts to chase down.
"Rowlet!" The tiny owl turns its head to see her master. "Trust me on this, we can get him!" The small sees an aura, faint but it's there burning around her. It gives an affirm nod and turns to the duck really closing in. "You only need one shot." The owl focused as Luz gave her commands. The duck really closed in on them. "Now!" No sooner had she said that the owl made its razor energy and fired two leaves at it. They both connect the duck right on the head and body. The duck stands there as the energy dissipates. It starts to tumble down and fall flat on its back. The class awe and gasp as the duck is unable to battle. "Quaxly is unable to battle! Winner is Rowlet, and the winner for this battle is Luz!" From a chuckle to a full-on laugh, Blaze humbly accepts his defeat. "Hahaha, well played Luz." As he returns his pokemon and walks over. Luz hugs her new owl as she celebrates her victory. "Good job you two, now head back with the rest." Luz bows to Dendre head as she carries her rowlet back into the group of students. "I still have to name you." She sits down in front of the pack. Blaze does the same bow and heads back in sitting with Luz as the students mumble quietly. "I hope you guys learn something in that battle practice." Dendra looks at her class.
"Yo he should have crushed her." One student whisper to the other. "He went easy on her." Another says. "Privilege like crazy." One of the girls flick her hair. "Hmmm…" Blaze kept silent but continued to listen to the teacher. As soon Dendra is about to speak the bell rings. "Well, there the bell, we will have more of these battle practices. This is in preparation for our treasure hunt in two weeks." "Treasure hunt?" Blaze quietly asked. Luz smiles and answers. "You will figure out soon what that means." Blaze only blinked on what information was given to him. Students start to stand up and start to scatter. Amity only looks at Luz. "Nemona's cousin huh." She only has her eyes on Luz.
Holy ... that was worse two weeks for me. Many things came up and made me procrastinate. This was a hard chapter to write. It was to a point I can only manage to write one chapter this week, choosing quality over quantity. BUT GOSH DANG THIS CHAPTER IM SO HAPPY WITH. Lemme introduce Blaze, yes my Oc trainer. The trainer who played, mostly all Pokémon games up-to-date. I alway played this battle in my head for such a long time that finally seeing it on paper makes me so happy. Your gonna see my journey as I adventure through S&V, with few non-cannon nuances. I also left a lot of references can you named them all? Anyways Luz adds Rowlet to the roster as her team gets more diverse. Do you like his addition? What should Luz name the little guy. Comment below. Well, I should give my head a rest. I have event coming up that making my workplace having a tight schedule. I will continue this as best as can as I go back to the standard two chapters per week.
