Chapter 84

Once everyone gathers outside, they notice that Ash is doing an Aura Test. Delia asks, "Ash? Are you adopting another person into the family?"

Ash says, "Yes, Mother. Alice and I got to an orphanage and we had decided to adopt a boy who has a bad past in the orphanage."

"I see." Delia says. Then they see that Trenor passed the test as Ash helps him up, "Congratulations, now you are a part of the family."

"Thank you, brother." Trenor says. Then Ash introduces him to everyone, and they all welcome him to the family. Delia also welcomes him as her third son.

What shocks Trenor more is that Arceus also greets him and he is also given a Legendary Pokemon Landorus to help him out. Ash offers him to become the Ground-type Leader, which is why with Eve's help, he manages to become a trainer, and then he captures a Sandaconda, a Mudsdale, a Camerupt, a Toedscruel, and a Dugtrio for his Ground-type team.

But when Ash and Alice have Trenor create the city where his gym is located, he has created a giant desert between Greeny City and Rotaeel City, a town made of abandoned trains, named Isolate Town. Trenor also reveals that he has created a maze underneath the desert and those who managed to get through it will find the treasure. Of course, everyone tries it out, and it takes them almost a hundred tries to get to the treasure.

"The concept of the Underground Maze sure is interesting." Ash says.

"I agree...it sure is a lot of fun." Alice replies. "Though how did Trenor manage to hide a lot of gold inside the maze? I mean...where did those gold come from?"

"Probably because of the minerals from underground." Ash says with a shrug.

Trenor is also working hard as he wants to be a member of the Rapidash Racers, so Delia also trains him with his Mudsdale. Trenor is also a quick learner, with only a few weeks, he has already mastered the skills and was on par with Ash and Alice.

Then Ash and Alice also start their new quest of capturing Ground-Type Pokemon. Since Kalos doesn't have any Ground Type Pokemon that they need to capture, so they decide to start with Unova.

In Wellspring Cave, they find a Drilbur in the area and capture it, then they also train it to become an Excadrill in the end.

Then they head to Route 8 and try to capture a Stunfisk, but when using Krookodile to battle, Stunfisk goes for the Mud-Slap and it accidentally knocks out Krookodile's black glasses.

Ash says, "We have to find the black glasses as quickly as possible..."

"You're right about that, I'll find it for Krookodile, you continue to capture Stunfisk." Alice says as she rushes to help Krookodile with the glasses. She still remembers when Ash told her about Krookodile panicking about losing the glasses for the first time, he tried to steal the glasses from Blastoise and they had a fight and they had a hard time calming both of them down.

After searching for a while, Alice uses the Super Rod to fish the black glasses back to him, but the glasses are a little broken, and Alice decides to fix them on the spot.

"There you go." Alice gives the glasses back to Krookodile, who starts to calm himself down and feel happy. At the same time, Ash captures the Stunfisk.

After they're done, the final Pokemon is in the Dragonspiral Tower, they capture a Golett and evolve it into a Golurk. But just as they are about to leave, they are trapped in a storm again, but this time, the storm is a little sandy and also makes them hot.

"Now what?" Alice mutters.

"This is Sandsear Storm... that means Landorus is the one this time." Ash says.

Landorus appears in front of them and he is going to join their team, since he also heard that the other three have already been captured.

Excadrill: Ability: Sand Rush. Moves: Horn Drill, Drill Run, Earthquake, Fissure, Sandstorm, Smart Strike

Krookodile: Ability: Anger Point. Moves: Dig, Earthquake, Sandstorm, Outrage, Foul Play, Power Trip

Stunfisk: Ability: Limber. Moves: Flail, Discharge, Electric Terrain, Thunderbolt, Mud-Slap, Bounce

Golurk: Ability: Klutz. Moves: Dynamic Punch, High Horsepower, Magnitude, Night Shade, Phantom Force, Heavy Slam

Landorus: Ability: Sand Force (Incarnate)/Intimidate (Therian). Moves: Earthquake, Fissure, Sandsear Storm, Fly, Sandstorm, Outrage

Their next location is the Sinnoh Region, Ash decides to continue his battle with the Gyms. The seventh Gym is Snowpoint City Gym and he's fighting Candice. Candice this time uses Weavile, Mamoswine, Abomasnow, and Froslass to battle, Ash goes for Fire and Steel Type Pokemon this time and wins the Gym, earning the Icicle Badge.

And the final Gym is Sunyshore City Gym, he uses four Pokemon as well and he uses the old team: Electabuzz, Jolteon, and Luxray, along with Raichu. Ash uses the new Ground Type Pokemon he captured and Pikachu to win against the team and get the Beacon Badge.

For the Ground Type Pokemon, they go to Maniac Tunnel, the Pokemon they find there is a Hippopotas, and they manage to evolve it into a Hippowdon. Then they head to Route 228 and capture a Rhyhorn, they also evolve it into a Rhydon and then use the Protector to make it Rhyperior.

Although there is also a problem with Gliscor, ever since Alice joins the team, he will sometimes land on top of Alice. When Ash scolds him about this, all he does is wink and causing Ash to be unable to get mad at him. When he is doing this again, they also accidentally attracted an Ursaring.

"Uh oh..." Alice mutters, they know Ursaring is aggressive. But this Ursaring is different, when he notices Ash, immediately he gives him a hug.

"It evolves into Ursaluna, and it is a cool Ground Type Pokemon." Ash replies.

After capturing it and returning to Sevestar Island, they head to Sevestar Island, although they have to wait for the full moon to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna. But after evolving, everyone is amazed to see how it looks.

Hippowdon: Ability: Sand Stream. Moves: Double-Edge, Slack Off, Earthquake, Fissure, Rest, Crunch

Rhyperior: Ability: Solid Rock. Moves: Horn Drill, Drill Run, Earthquake, Rock Wrecker, Stone Edge, Megahorn

Gliscor: Ability: Poison Heal. Moves: Sky Uppercut, Earth Power, Earthquake, Sand Attack, Acrobatics, X-Scissor

Ursaluna: Ability: Bulletproof. Moves: Snore, Thrash, Hammer Arm, Headlong Rush, High Horsepower, Rest

The next Pokemon capturing is in the Hoenn Region, Ash and Alice head to Route 111 since there is a desert area. Alice says, "Since we're capturing Ground Type Pokemon... I guess we're going to the desert more often than usual?"

"Yeah. I know it might be hard for us to walk because of the sand, but there is a lot of cool Pokemon to capture." Ash says.

They find a Trapinch and a Baltoy there, and they also manage to train the two Pokemon and evolve them into their final forms. Alice says, "Looks like both of them have Levitate... a move that prevents being hit by Ground Moves. How ironic..."

"Yeah, they have the ability that prevents them from getting hit by the moves of their own type." Ash says.

But before they are leaving, they start to feel really hot, and Alice says, "Is it just me or today is hotter than usual..."

"I don't think it is this hot..." Ash says, but in front of them, a Pokemon has been waiting for them. They gulp as it is the Land Pokemon Groudon.

Claydol: Ability: Levitate. Moves: Hyper Beam, Earth Power, Guard Split, Imprison, Power Split, Sandstorm

Groudon: Ability: Drought/Desolate Land (Primal). Moves: Eruption, Fire Blast, Solar Beam, Hammer Arm, Fissure, Precipice Blades

And for Trenor, they also help him get his own Z Crystal by battling Hapu on Poni Island. And they also try to capture some Pokemon for their team. They head to Verdant Cavern and capture an Alolan Diglett, and by training the Pokemon, they evolve it into an Alolan Dugtrio. Then they head to Akala Island and arrive at Route 4, where they find a Mudbray and evolve it into a Mudsdale.

Alolan Dugtrio: Ability: Tangling Hair. Moves: Tri Attack, Earth Power, Fissure, Sand Tomb, Sucker Punch, Iron Head

Mudsdale: Ability: Stamina. Moves: Mega Kick, Counter, Superpower, Earthquake, Mud-Slap, Heavy Slam

"Hey, Ash! Trenor! Check this out!" After returning to Sevestar Island, Alice shows both Trenor and Ash the upcoming Race held in Pewter City.

"So it's called the Steelix Cup. And it is a relay with three riders. That sounds cool." Ash says.

"Indeed, how about we apply for this one?" Trenor says.

"That sounds like a good idea." Alice says. "Though we have to work with the relay."

With Minami and Golly volunteering to help, the three of them try their own Relay. Golly is now recording the time, and after they finish the race, Golly says, "So if we compare the three times, I think it will be great if Trenor goes first, then Alice and Ash go for the final."
