Chapter 85
The news of Ash, Alice, and Trenor having a race at the Pewter City is spreading to his friends, and all of them decide to watch the race on the sidelines. The Rapidash Racers are doing a great job in the first rounds, and they manage to win in the end with all kinds of speeding-up strategies. Although they are also frowning since the Dark Raiders are also winning every race with dirty tricks, they can see that the referee and the MC of the race are not happy, but they have a job to do and they don't have anything to force them out of the race.
Behind the waiting spot, Ash and Alice are feeding their own Rapidash, Alice asks, "So Ash... are we ready to face the cheaters in the match? I mean... what if they try to attack us?"
"Don't worry, Minami and Golly are in the stands, they will record the race, and that way we will have the evidence to get them arrested." Ash says. "Trenor, what about you? Nervous?"

Right now they are in the final round of the race, Ash, Alice, and Trenor are now facing a group known as the Dark Raiders.
Eve says, "I really don't like the Dark Raiders. They were said to do dirty tricks in order to win, but the problem that they haven't got disqualified is because they have no proof to accuse them of cheating."
"That sure is mean...I just hope Brother and the others can just defeat them and prove that they are not that innocent." Minami replies.
They see two groups entering the stadium, and they cheer for Ash's team. The two groups are shaking hands, but they can see that the other group is trying not to break the opponent's hands.
Unknown to them a certain doctor is watching by the sidelines, and he notices how Trenor looks like Ash and he wants to look how the race goes.
As the race starts, Trenor is the first one as he jumps onto the Mudsdale, while his opponent is riding on Arcanine. Both Pokemon immediately charge after the referee fires the starting gun.
"Wow, they are both equally fast..." Elline says in awe.
"That is what makes the race exciting." Dawn says, "And they are both in a tie."
Just then, much to their surprise, Trenor's opponent suddenly tells Arcanine to use Flame Charge, and it quickly surpasses Trenor and gets to the second trainer.
"This is expected." Trenor smiles as he continues to charge while the opponent has already switched the flag. Trenor then passes the flag to Alice, who is on her Galarian Rapidash and her opponent is riding the Starmie.
"Wow, Alice is about to catch up to that Starmie." Helen says.
"Yeah, that Rapidash sure is speedy." Serena says. But the opponent just grits her teeth and he yells, "Water Gun."
Much to their surprise, the Starmie shoots the attack on Rapidash, the said horse is frightened and it makes Alice falls down to the ground.
"Hey, they are cheating!" The crowd is booing at the Dark Raiders, Brock can notice how Yuma is growling in anger. The way that he shows his anger is just like how Ash would be.
"How dare she..." Alice says as she holds her arm and rides back on the Rapidash. Then they quickly chase the Starmie, but they are behind for some seconds when Alice gives the flag to Ash, who is on his own Fire Type Rapidash, the last person who is already going with his Steelix.
"Alice, you have to take a rest. Don't worry about the race, I will win this for sure." Ash says as he tells Rapidash to go. His opponent sees them getting closer, then he says, "I am not going to lose this race. Sandstorm."
Then the field is covered by sand as Rapidash can't see. Ash clicks his tongue and says, "Dirty tricks...Though attacking the Pokemon is against the rules, the weather effects aren't...Rapidash, take it easy, and listen to me. Use Flame Charge then Agility."
Then Rapidash goes fast as it creates the wind, then the wind blows the sand out of its eyes and catches up to Steelix.
"Damn, it...Steelix! Iron Head!" As they are going to attack Rapidash again, Ash says, "Attack is against the rules, so Rapidash, Double Team! Distract them!"
Rapidash nods as he splits along with Ash, then it causes Steelix to miss, and Ash goes to the finish line first.
"Alright!" Eve and Flora cheer while hugging each other. "Rapidash Racers are the best."
Ash quickly rushes to Alice, who is still on the ground as Trenor is holding her. Ash asks, "Alice, are you alright?"
Alice says, "I am fine, but I think I got a broken bone..."
"No one messes with my wife and gets away with it." Ash says with anger as he turns to the Dark Raiders, who are angry that they lost the race. The referee says, "Since the Dark Raiders also break the rules, it is natural that Rapidash Racers are the winners of the horse race."
The Team is angry as they try to attack the group by having the three Pokemon attack at the same time, but Trenor yells, "Mudsdale, use Earthquake."
The ground shake causes the Pokemon to faint, and then Officer Jennys come into the scene and they arrest the team. The referee says, "I am sorry that everyone has to see that coming, but now that Rapidash Racers are the winners, please come to the stage for the trophy."
After a while, Trenor is the one that takes the trophy, while Ash and Alice are at the sides because Alice barely can move because of her injury. Ash and Alice are now back in their original forms since nobody else is watching.
"Alice, please tell me how to heal this kind of injury..." Ash asks.
"We need to have an X-ray to scan it...I have to know how seriously it is..." Alice says.
"So it is really you, Ash, and Alice. Don't worry, I can help you with it." They turn around to see Brock, one of the people Ash traveled with in the past. "I am a doctor, so I have the equipment with me."
"Brock?" Ash is surprised as he is checking the injury, he's a little angry and he asks, "What are you doing here?"
"I was asked to come here as one of the members of the medical team." Brock says while giving her a check up. "Don't worry about your wife, she just has a slightly broken bone, it will take some time to heal, but it will be just fine."
Ash nods as he helps Alice to have a cast on her arm and then tied it with a bandage. It is then Eve and the others also arrive.
"Alice, thank goodness you're fine." Eve says, fighting the urge to hug her sister because she is injured.
"Sorry to make you guys worried." Alice says. "And thank you, Brock. Even though I could just do it all by myself..."
"Not worry, you are the wife of my best friend after all." Brock says. "I'm glad that he has a wife like you to help him out."
Ash sighs a little at Brock, but then he realizes that Brock isn't flirting with the girls this time. He turns to Brock, "I thought you were just going to flirt with my students here, but it seems like you're not going to do that?"
Brock asks, "What do you think I am? I've already got a wife 8 months ago."
"Wait, what?" Ash asks in shock. "Why wasn't I invited to the wedding?"
Brock frowns, "Because you basically hate us for what Team Rocket did to us? I thought you would ignore everything that I sent you. Considering you've been doing that in the first year..."
"I guess that makes sense, but it is already a lot of years in the past." Ash sighs. "Anyway, who is the lucky girl?"
"You remember Holly, right? The one tagged with me back in Hearthome City?" Brock asks. "We've met again after her Pokemon was injured, we talked a little and eventually we started dating. And after that, we've married. It's hard to believe that I got a girl since I used to do that in the past?"
"No. I mean, Congratulations." Ash says. "Anyway, it has been years since that happened, I don't blame you for what Team Rocket did to you. However, ever since that incident, let's say that I am pretty sensitive to some things and I wouldn't be able to control my anger."
"I understand." Brock says.
Delia says, "Alice. Because of your injury, it will be better to not move too much. I suggest that we should stop the training until it gets better."

"If you want to, I can do it in your place." Eve says. "I mean, we are sisters, how hard is it to disguise as my sister?"
Ash says, "I guess that should be fine...but we have a problem and that's the Colors Concert tomorrow. You are tone-deaf, how are you going to do it?"
"I don't think that should be a problem if we use science." David says. "What I mean is that we can have Alice sing in the background while Eve just does the lip-syncing."
"I guess that's not bad. We did invent a lot of things and a special microphone wouldn't be a problem." Alice says.
Brock asks Ash, "So I heard from Dawn and the others, it is true you have been using a lot of disguises to do a lot of things, right?"
"You're right about that, some of them are actually from my Dad and Alice's mother, we just want to continue what they've left off." Ash says. "By the way, do you want to come with us to our Sevestar Island?"

Alice asks, "Is it a boy or a girl?"

They decide to talk for a while before heading back to Sevestar Island to rest, Ash has been with Alice because he wants to make sure Alice is pretty fine with the injury. And they also have Tox helping her out with the medicine and checkups.
As for Brock, he comes back home and greets his wife, who is on the bed with a big belly, Holly asks, "Something good happened?"
"It turns out I was just being paranoid...Ash already moved on from that incident and he isn't hating me." Brock smiles.
"That's great news." Holly smiles at her husband, and they share a hug with each other, careful not to hurt the baby inside.
