Chapter 7 : Pregnant

Nessie

Pregnant. The word kept repeating itself in my head as I lay there in bed that afternoon. The prenatal vitamins that Dr. Cullen had prescribed for me were safely hidden underneath my bed. I knew that if I told my foster family that I was pregnant they would just about kill me. Or worse, they would kick me out of the house. As much as I hated living here it was preferable to being homeless. I was an idiot either though. I wouldn't be able to hide a pregnancy from them forever.

So the question now remained, what was I going to do now? I could always have an abortion. There was a planned parenthood location not far from school. I could always go there, have the procedure done, and get home before anyone noticed that I was gone. I couldn't do it though. I couldn't abort my baby. I hadn't yet completely gotten over the shock of hearing the news that I was pregnant. But, I was already starting to love him.

I stayed in my room for the rest of the evening. Which, for me, was not an out of the ordinary thing for me to do. I stayed out of my foster family's way and they stayed out of mine. It was a mutually beneficial situation. I only came down when I was called for dinner. I was still kind of hungry when I finished eating but I knew better than to ask for seconds. I would get screamed at and called an ungrateful little brat if I did. Brittany would just call me a gluttonous fatass pig and her parents wouldn't say a thing about it to her. It's happened before.

The following Sunday I mostly stayed in my room again and worked on my homework. I only emerged from my room a few times that day. Again, my foster family didn't suspect anything out of the ordinary. I got up early the following Monday morning. I made breakfast for myself as usual and then left for school earlier than I normally would have. As a result I got to school a bit earlier than I usually did.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Anthony sitting by himself in the school cafeteria. I had almost forgotten that Dr. Cullen had said his kids and grandson were starting at this school today. This whole situation struck me as odd. Anthony was supposedly Edward's and Bella's son yet they were all here attending the same high school together. There was something really odd going on here. I had a feeling that there was some huge piece of the puzzle that I am missing.

I walked up to Anthony. He looked up when he saw me approaching and he smiled. "Anthony?"

"Hey don't act so surprised to see. Carlisle already told me that you knew we were going to be here,"

"You know about the doctor's appointment?" my heart started beating fast.

"Yeah he accidentally let it slip. I already heard the news and I think it's rather exciting,"

"You do?"

"Heck yeah I do. I'm going to be a dad. I'm ecstatic. My parents almost killed me when they found out though," he shuddered.

"Speaking of which, where are Edward and Bella?"

"They all went to look for their new classes. By the way, here at school, Edward and Bella are my siblings. Actually they're all my siblings. That's what we're telling everyone and I'd appreciate it if you went with that story,"

"I am so confused," I admitted.

"It's complicated but you'll find out soon enough. It's just a charade we have to keep up because, well, like I said you'll find out soon enough. Anyway, I need to figure out this map I have no idea where I'll be going today,"

I sighed. His convoluted explanations were not making any sense to me. "I have no idea how to get to any of my classes,"

"Can I see?"

"Sure," he handed me two pieces of paper. One with his class schedule and the other one was a map of the school. I was surprised that his schedule was exactly identical to mine. We shared all of our classes.

"It looks like we have all of the same classes together. Just follow me and I'll show you the way,"

"Really?" he smiled again. "That's awesome!"

"Anthony?"

"Yes?"

"You really don't care at all that I'm pregnant with your baby? Even though we only just met a few weeks ago?"

"No. I think it's really cool. I'm going to be a dad. Yeah, we are a bit young, but we will figure it out together. At least we have my family's support, well, sort of. My par-I mean Edward and Bella, well, they're still not speaking to me. I think I prefer having them yell at me rather than ignoring me like they have been for the past 48 hours,"

"Why would they even care so much that I'm pregnant with your baby?"

"Oh, trust me, you'll know soon enough,"

"I don't understand you're convoluted responses,"

"I know. Trust me. It's confusing as hell. But there's a reason why we suddenly decided to leave Seattle and move here,"

"Okay? I'm still confused. Can you just tell me what's going on?"

"It's because of you. That's why. You're the reason why we moved here,"

"What?"

He sighed. "Look, I have already given you too much information. I'm already in enough trouble as it is for getting you pregnant. You wouldn't exactly believe me anyway if I did tell you,"

"You haven't told me anything,"

"I told you that we moved here because of you. I wasn't supposed to even tell you that. If I tell you that you're really Edward's and Bella's long lost daughter and that you're really half vampire then I will-oh fuck. Please don't tell me you were paying attention to what I just said," his face turned red. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "I am so dead. I think I may have literally just signed my own death certificate," his voice shook.
