A large man with maroon colored skin with the texture of a brick wall strutted across the docks, watching, and likely guarding the line of blind-folded, shackled women being escorted onto a yacht parked against the docking bay. He wore a tight grey, two-piece suit including a tie and matching dress shoes, he kept an eye out into the darkness of the ports around them with nothing but moon-light to illuminate his surroundings.
Crouching atop a rooftop ledge, too far for the newest enforcer to see her but, with a good enough view of the illegal human smuggling operation; Artemis zoomed in with her high-powered binoculars on Brick, the man watching over the transfer, "We've got one target this time, I don't recognize him but, he looks tough…" she finished pulling back from the viewers and glancing up at her partner.
They were both dressed in the same outfits they had been using since their 'audition' for the team only a few days ago, Korra narrowed her eyes appearing to catch sight of Brick without the need for binoculars, "I can take him, I'll bring him down while you save the women," Artemis nodded at her assertion as she stood up.
"Just be careful," the blonde archer placed a hand on the bender's shoulder, receiving a pleasant smile in return.
Korra quickly pecked Artemis on the cheek before turning and dropping back first off the ledge, "Always," she responded before gravity took hold of her.
Using a burst of airbending, she propelled herself off the side of the building she was falling from, darting directly towards the occupied port. She positioned her feet forwards and dropped behind the seven-foot-tall enforcer with an earthbending stomp putting a small crater in the ground from her landing. This prompted Brick to turn around suddenly, as Korra smiled and waved at him, "Nice night for some human-slave trade?"
"I heard about you, you're the girl who the master is all obsessed with," he took a few steps forwards which was Artemis' que to move in, "I guess I can see why our normal weapons wouldn't be enough but, that doesn't mean you stand any chance of leaving here alive," he was at least smart enough to analyze Korra's strength even though he hadn't really seen her in action yet.
Artemis fired an arrow to the rooftop adjacent to the port, zip-lining across quickly landing in a roll, and sprinting across the roof, taking aim and firing another arrow precisely into the padlock that kept the chained women connected to the men on the boat, severing it.
Brick turned around at the sound of the lock shattering but, Korra wasn't going to let him interfere, "Hey, tough guy, remember me?" she right-hooked the air sending a fierce wave of orange flames into bricks back, lighting his suit on fire but otherwise doing no damage. Though it did work in getting him to turn back around.
He looked down at his ruined suit, patting it down from the still present sparks, "You have any idea how hard it is to find a suit my size?!" he quickly punched the ground sending a shockwave of force through the concrete ground in an attempt to hit her, instead, she stomped her right foot bringing up a large pillar of earth from below the concrete to protect herself. She then stomped again severing the pillar from the ground and with a two-handed palm-thrust, she sent the several ton pillar of rock at her opponent.
Brick was confident in his durability as he took the stone structure headfirst, literally headbutting the projectile and shattering it over his strengthened body; he stepped out of the dust and smoke only angrier than before, tearing the remainders of his suit off with one hand leaving only his pants and shoes. "Well, you don't see that every day," Korra muttered to herself.
Artemis jumped off the rooftop and landed on a shipping container as the men within the yacht began firing at her with their forty-seven-caliber hand-guns missing their target terribly as she ran, preparing her shot and firing with enough accuracy to hit one of the men in the shoulder from several hundred feet away avoiding the kill shot on purpose. The women ducked down at the sound of the gun-fire, too afraid to even peak from their blindfolds. The blonde-archer leapt from one shipping container to the next and in between two containers was a gap which she backflipped over getting the perfect shot while upside down, launching an arrow directly into the barrel of the shooters gun as she landed on her feet atop the desired container, though she did stumble a bit.
Brick stomped toward Korra who ducked under his wild haymakers and flailing swings, landing a straight-jab to his chest which pushed him back with enough force that his heels dug through the concrete as he retained his balance. Once given the distance, Korra stepped forwards with one air jab after the other sending plumes of fire into the villains face, covering his field of vision.
Artemis sprinted towards the remaining thug who tossed his gun, now plugged with an arrow in its barrel, into the water before jumping off the yacht and approaching the running archer. He pulled out a collapsible baton, extending it out and preparing to strike her with it though, she quickly shifted down, skating on her knees under the baton swing. Spinning while still on her knees she extended a leg and swept the mans feet out from under him, landing on his back with a groan; she jabbed him once in the nose to knock him out cold. Artemis turned her attention to the women, readying an arrow on her drawstring and firing with little to no hesitation. Hitting the lead woman's locked cuffs perfectly, breaking them apart so she could remove the blindfold herself, "Get the rest of these women out of here!" she shouted, pointing at the exit to the marina which she'd scouted beforehand to ensure that it was clear. The woman was distracted by Korra's bright flames illuminating the darkened area as her eyes adjusted, "Now!" she insisted prompting the woman to hurriedly grab the lead of the chains and guide the other half-dozen girls out of the way toward the exit.
Brick swung his arms out dispersing the fire in his way just in time to notice the women escaping, "I don't think so!" he reached down digging his fingers in and grabbing a large chunk of concrete which he launched at the fleeing victims.
"No!" Artemis shouted as just before the projectile hit its target, a blur of yellow and red sped through the dark, taking two of the women with it as the others simply backed away in blind fear.
Artemis raised her brow, unsure of what had just happened, she turned her head as Brick was suddenly struck in the chest with three explosive shuriken from the shadows knocking him off balance. From the waters, a man sprung up into the air clad in crimson armor and black skin-tight pants, landing with two glowing neon-blue mace constructs in either hand. He ran forth to confront Brick as Korra was simply too stunned to keep from watching.
The same blur of speed darted passed the line of scared women, unlocking their cuffs and removing their blindfolds in a matter of just a second or two. Once free, the blur stopped in front of them revealing the ginger-haired speedster, Kid Flash who directed them towards the nearest exit not blocked by a chunk of concrete.
Just as Aqualad was prepared to confront Brick directly, a shuriken landed at their feet exuding copious amounts of fog giving the Atlantean with superior-senses the advantage; he struck the villain-for-hire right and left in the face with each mace, staggering the durable foe. Though Brick quickly adapted and stomped hard on the shuriken ceasing the smoke screen allowing him to catch the next swing of Kaldur's mace, turning and throwing the hero through the air, passed Artemis who was just as stunned to see the heroes show up to aid them.
Korra snapped out of her stupor and furrowed her brow, her eyes illuminated with holy-white light for a second or two before returning to normal, this super charged her bending allowing her strength enough to airbend a blast so strong it maintained the force of an F-5 category tornado within the condensed burst. Brick was launched off his feet, toppling backwards spite weighing a good three-hundred pounds, though he got back to his feet quickly enough which is something that the initial duo had planned for, "Artemis, now!" she shouted.
Ceasing her airbending blast, Brick quickly turned around to face Artemis with a trick-arrow already prepped on her drawstring, firing as soon as he was facing her direction. Hitting her target in the center of his chest, the device embedded into the arrow-head exploded releasing a substance which acted like a foam surrounding and consuming Brick from the neck down to his toes.
Robin jumped down from atop a shipping container in the shadows to approach as they heard police sirens convening on the entrance to the ports where the women were likely now calling for help. Aqualad stood up slowly, rubbing his head but, with a smile on his face as the group of heroes slowly came together.
Kid Flash sped up to and stopped in front of the now contained Brick, glancing back at Artemis who approached on foot with a casual strut, he was still increasingly peeved that she was the chosen replacement for his long-time friend, Speedy. Folding his arms in protest, "Lucky shot," he teased as she walked passed him towards Korra, Robin, and Kaldur.
"Luck had nothing to do with it, trust me…" she responded with a coy smirk.
Kid Flash murmured under his breath, "I don't, that's the problem."
Robin glanced over the contained villain who struggled with all of his strength to get free of his new prison, with no traction to move his arms, he had no way of breaking free, "High-density polyurethane foam? Nice touch," Robin announced with his hands on his hips.
Artemis nearly blushed, the approval of another hero her age, especially the protégé to Batman himself was something she never imagined she wanted until she actually received it, "T-Thanks, I used to stick with explosives but, you can't blow up every obstacle, right?"
"Indeed," Kaldur responded, "I believe even if we had not intervened, you two would have done good work here tonight."
Kid Flash couldn't help but criticize, "Are you kidding? Those two women that I had to save would have been crushed if we hadn't been here," the speedster pointed out.
Korra finally spoke up, "Actually I was going to use airbending to knock it off course but, then I saw you run in from the entrance so I let you take care of the hostages," Kid and the others turned to face her with surprised expressions.
"There's no way you saw me- I was moving at mach three!"
Korra chuckled as she moved to stand beside Artemis, shrugging her shoulders, "Yea, I kinda thought you'd be faster…" her response prompted the archer to giggle behind her hand covering her mouth.
"Regardless, we are glad you two are alright, you certainly picked a good cause to devote your time to," Kaldur pointed out as cops began to flood the scene with flashlights, "Though it would be best we get clear of the area, less we tip-off whoever runs this operation to your new affiliation with our team."
Korra had to admit, this Aqualad was definitely well spoken and made some good points, they all backed away from Brick and towards the shipping containers at the edge of the docks, "Good thinking, let's meet back at the cave, maybe Batman has some clue to who would be dumb enough smuggle women on his turf," Robin suggested.
Artemis and Korra glanced at one another simultaneously, knowing expressions of desire in the iris of their eyes, "A-Actually, we'll meet you guys there in the morning, Artemis and I have a few things to… discuss, right Artemis?"
The other three heroes didn't really notice how Artemis licked her lips before answering, "Oh yea, we have a lot to talk about."
"Alright," Kaldur raised his brow with a smile, likely knowing something was up from the moment they met, "We'll see you ladies in the morning."
Kid Flash dashed out of sight while Kaldur effortlessly scaled the shipping containers in single jumps with Robin firing a grappling hook up into the darkness being pulled out of sight.
…
Three rooftops over, Artemis hit the back of a large billboard sign with Korra pinning her up against it by her wrists; their lips were mashed together as the archer gently bit down on the Avatar's bottom lip, their tongues danced within their mouths, sweet moans of satisfaction echoed into the cool night sky. The two women had spent the last few days training or, in Korra's case, studying about this world; too busy for either of them to have the energy to enjoy each other.
Artemis had her cowl pulled back over her head, her arms now wrapping slowly around Korra's neck, linking behind her head as to pull her closer, for several minutes straight they switched oral positions over and over. "Mmmf," Korra moaned as Artemis quickly forced herself forwards, reversing their stances and pinning Korra back first to the billboard by the neck, her left arm pinned by the wrist with her free hand. Artemis could see the heat rushing to the powerful bender's cheeks, her face getting flushed as she tried fighting off yet another moan. Korra had never really indulged in what Artemis had been calling 'roleplay' back in her own Universe but, since the archer explained it, Korra seemed to love it.
Artemis looked into Korra's eyes from centimeters apart, feeling her heavy breaths on her creamy button nose, seeing the submission in the depths of her pupils, pressing her hand against Korra's throat with a little more force prompted, this time an unexpected moan that caught even herself off guard. The surprise in her expression made Artemis even hotter under her costume, "You like that?"
Korra simply nodded with her eyes closed for a second or two before reopening them, she took her hand from Korra's throat to gently caress the side of her face, "Get on your knees," she whispered as the Avatar's eyes widened a bit, unsure if she should comply with the order, however; she found herself lowering to her knees until she was on them looking up at the archer with the cutest confused expression, "Good girl," Artemis cupped Korra's chin and caressed her lips slowly with her thumb, "You like being a good girl, don't you?"
Korra nodded once again slowly as they till made eye contact, Artemis' thumb gently plunged itself into her mouth, parting her lips, noticing that without even being told to, Korra had begun licking her thumb, "Awe…" Artemis muttered with a heavy breath, "suck it," she whispered. Korra closed her eyes and took her hand with one of her own, keeping the thumb steady in her mouth as she sucked it, her head bobbing back and forth. "Oh, wow…" Artemis practically moaned, this time the heat was rushing to her own face, she had no idea that Korra would go this far, she wondered in the back of her mind what else she could convince the Avatar to do now that the powerful demi-goddess was on her knees in front of her sucking her thumb obediently.
Artemis pulled her thumb back leaving a trail of saliva between the end of her finger and Korra's bottom lip, her eyes opened blinking innocently as she reattained eye contact with the archer standing above her. "You really like taking orders, don't you?"
Remaining on her knees, lucky that her pants protected her from the hard gravel rooftop, Korra metaphorically shook the embarrassment from her thoughts, "I-I guess I have all the power in the world where I come from, s-so now that I'm here with, ya know, you…" her eyes darted to the side as she continued, "I've never done this before so I guess I'm just willing to follow your lead."
Artemis shook her head in disbelief, her blonde pony-tail swaying in the motion, "No… no, that's not it," leaving Korra confused yet, still on her knees when the archer slowly bent over to regrip her by the throat, another surprised moan echoed through the dark rooftop. After bringing Korra back up to eye level and pinning her back first against the billboard once again, getting back in her face with their lips only centimeters apart, "You enjoy it, you like being a submissive pet for me, don't you?" Artemis watched as Korra's entire body tensed up, her cheeks were flushed with red and her hands had grabbed hold of the metallic billboard, warping the metal with her grip.
"N-No! I'm not submissive I just-" her words were cut off by Artemis pressing her lips against hers, keeping her tongue occupied instead of spewing lies she was too embarrassed to admit weren't true. The blood was pumping throughout her body, her breathing was heavy and erratic, she felt something between her legs but couldn't possibly understand what exactly this feeling was. She had never gotten this far with anyone on her Earth, and Artemis was so attractive, pushing all of the right buttons which Korra didn't even know existed.
"Yes you are," Artemis corrected, pulling her lips back an inch or two as her hands ran down the sides of Korra's midsection, sending chills throughout her body but, mostly into the space between her legs. "You're submissive to me, say it," she insisted quickly cupping her by the crotch forcing a pleasureful gasp to part the Avatar's lips, her hands involuntarily metalbending the billboard behind her which crunched under her grip.
Feeling a finger caressing slowly between her legs, this roleplay stuff was the hottest thing Korra had ever experienced, not even capable of gathering the strength to grab the wrist of the hand slowly moving two fingers in a perfect circle over her pants.
"I-I'm not-" she tried to resist but, a smile widened on Artemis' face as Korra closed her eyes and tried to fight the rapid movement between her legs which was bringing something forth, something she'd never felt before, something intense. She nearly fell forwards with her knees growing weak from the pleasure, Artemis grabbed her by the shoulder and pinned her back against the billboard with her free hand, "Ung! Mff," her moans were delicious but, the archer hadn't had enough just yet.
Bringing her fingers up just a bit so that she could rub her sweet spot while keeping her pinned to the back of the billboard, "Say it," she repeated.
"I… I…" Korra felt something coming, something about to flow out of her, like she was ready to explode; not something Artemis was expecting when the Avatar finally finished her sentence. A gust of wind burst out around them, not enough to blow back Artemis but, certainly enough to send her into the Avatar State, "I'm submissive to you!" she nearly shouted as she exploded between her legs, Artemis smiled, feeling bothered between her legs too at the sight of her glowing white-eyes echoing her submission through however many lifetimes could feel it.
Artemis stopped moving her fingers for a moment, feeling how damp the spot she was rubbing had gotten, "Wow," Artemis spoke up with a light giggle, watching Korra's eyes return to normal as her breathing continued heavy and heated.
"W-What was that?!" Korra huffed, glancing up at Artemis who had her eyes locked on her own two fingers, slowly reaching up and placing her fingers into her mouth slowly, licking up the dampness and tasting her at the same time.
Artemis reached out and grabbed Korra's hand, prying it away from the billboard she warped with her forceful grip, "I think you had an orgasm," she noted, helping to make sure the inexperienced Avatar could stand on her own two feet again though, they were clearly shaking.
"A what?" Korra blinked, taking deep breaths to retain her composure.
Artemis wrapped an arm across her shoulder, comforting Korra as she tried to make sense of the explosion of pleasure she just felt, unlike anything she'd ever experienced before in her life, "It's what happens when you- Korra, have you never touched yourself before?"
Korra was steaming red, having regained her second wind, she was now furiously embarrassed, "Well, I didn't have a boyfriend or girlfriend in my world, I had a job and I had to constantly be on guard because there was no one else to protect the world, I didn't have time to… play with myself," this prompted Artemis to smile a bit, looking the bender in the eyes, her ocean blue pupils staring deeply into the doughy brown pools of sparkling light.
"So, wait, did I just give you your first-"
Korra closed her eyes with an embarrassed expression still clear as day on her face, "Yes…"
"And, judging by the look on your face," Artemis drew her finger gently from Korra's neck up to her chin sending goosebumps across her chest and down back in between her legs, "You want more don't you?"
Without hesitation, Korra shut her eyes in protest before dropping to her knees in front of Artemis, surprising even the archer standing before her, she opened her mouth looking up into Artemis' eyes with her tongue slightly out, "Yes…" she responded reluctantly. Her eyes were begging for more and Artemis was determined to give it to her, "I- I'm submissive to you," she repeated from before.
"Good girl," Artemis smiled with a mischievous grin, slowly reaching down, and unzipping her costumes top where the two ends split apart revealing a copious amount of cleavage, "You're gonna start worshipping my chest, understand?" running her own fingers up her stomach, in between her breasts, before pulling back the top to reveal even more skin.
Korra blinked and nodded, reaching up to grab her by the waist from her position on her knees, Artemis gently slapped her hand away, "You have to answer, 'yes mistress' when we're playing, understand?" the archer insisted with the lust in her eyes only growing.
Korra gulped and licked her lips which felt surprisingly dry, "Y-yes mistress," she quickly followed orders and began kissing Artemis up her midsection gently and sensually towards her chest.
Artemis had no idea just how submissive someone so powerful could be, she imagined Korra would have taken her stance by now and reversed their roles but, it appears the Avatar couldn't get enough of the submission Artemis offered. Looking down on the Avatar, arguably the most powerful woman in two worlds, obediently kissing her bare chest, she placed a hand on her head gently, "You are too good to be true…" she murmured as the pleasure started to overwhelm her as well, feeling goosebumps spreading from every point Korra's lips pressed against.
Artemis suddenly remembered what Korra had told her a few nights prior when they spent their first night in the new cave base together, perhaps the archer was just too excited to metaphorically keep it in her pants but, she didn't want Korra to regret anything once the hormones and arousal eventually fades. Before the Avatar could reach a nipple, Artemis placed her hand against her forehead, pulling her head back left her mouth wide-open and her eyes partially lowered even as they made eye contact. Saliva drooling from her mouth from all of the sweet kisses and suckling she was prepared to do, "I-I, uhm, I think that's enough f-for tonight," barely able to keep herself from stuttering, she pulled back leaving Korra on her knees still.
"Are you sure? I didn't do something wrong, did I?" she asked with the most innocently sweet voice the archer had ever heard.
"No, definitely not, it's just… you said you wanted to take things slow and I got carried away and gave you your first… well, you know, and now I feel like going further would be the opposite of taking things slowly," Artemis explained herself as the heat in Korra's cheeks subsided, giving her the strength to stand back up on her own two feet.
"True, I'm glad you respect my boundaries because, I don't know what got into me but, I would have done anything you said, heh," she chuckled a bit, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly.
Artemis zipped up her costume before putting her hands on her hips, "I really hope that only applies to me because if your weakness is having your throat gripped and your lips occupied, I can't say you'll last very long in this world," she chuckled for a second as Korra looked into her eyes closely, stepping forwards into her personal space.
"Of course it's you, it'll always be you," Korra muttered just loud enough for Artemis to hear it now that they were inches apart, slowly pressing her tan lips against the soft-pink luscious pillows Artemis called her mouth. This time their lips connected sensually, slowly, with more passion than just raw erotic hormones; it was just simple love, even if neither had the courage to admit it yet.
…
Happy Harbor; Road Island; July 18th, 10:43AM
"Recognize: Artemis B06; Avatar B07."
From the newly reactivated zeta-tubes materialized two female figures walking through and approaching the center holoring; Korra was still flabbergasted by instantly particle hopping from Gotham all the way across the country into a secret cave. The technology of this world was still mind boggling to her especially ever since she got her memories back, even in a hundred years Korra doubted her world could catch up.
They both approached a large holographic screen where a twelve-year-old boy in a black jacket and dark sunglasses spite being indoors looked over a holographic map along with Kaldur, Miss Martian, Superboy who didn't seem the least bit interested, and Kid Flash who lacked his regular costume dressed in regular civilian clothes. Even Artemis had to admit he wasn't an unattractive boy but, his mouth and attitude ruined any chance of her seeing passed that.
As they got closer to the map, both females realized they were tracking Red Tornado as he approached the cave from the air only a few miles out, "What are we looking for?" Korra asked genuinely.
"We are waiting for Red Tornado in hopes that he has a mission for us," Kaldur responded.
"Yea," Wally chimed in, "It's been over a week since this team started and we had one mission, which wasn't even a real mission."
Superboy walked away, deadpanning a sentence as he did so, "Yea, all you did was save my life, not a real mission…" as he walked away Wally bit his tongue metaphorically, forgetting just how their first mission played out.
"I didn't mean it like that, c'mon Supes, I just meant that we haven't been assigned any official missions from the League, after we took down Cadmus, we should have some level of trust going on here, right?" the speedster tried to reason with why or how they were being left out of the hero game when they felt they could be doing so much more. While Wally was the only one with a motor mouth which would say what was on everyone's mind at this point, aside from maybe Artemis and Korra.
A chime announced itself softly from the holographic image projected in front of them, "He approaches," Kaldur announced turning to make his way towards one of the caves entrances, followed by Robin, Wally, M'gaan, and eventually Superboy who folded his arms without a word.
Artemis nudged Korra's shoulder as she took a few steps forwards, waving her hand through the holographic display, "Still so cool," she whispered until Artemis snapped her out of it.
"Don't you wanna follow them, maybe Red Tornado has a mission for us," she pointed out.
Korra shook her head, "Nah, I doubt it, the Batman guy assigns missions and Tornado is just supposed to supervise us; I'd rather put in some time training," having very basic knowledge on the holographic screen, she looked over all of the data and gulped, "Could you maybe…?" she gestured towards the screen where Artemis smiled, approaching from behind with one hand placed on her lower back and the other tapping away at the hard-light hologram summoning a training regimen designed by Batman to test her skills.
The screen vanished and Artemis stepped back and out of the ring, "Thanks," she stated, getting into a fighting stance, and preparing to adjust to any element she needed.
Within the holoring, a circular target in bright neon-red appeared before her prompting her step forward and straight-jab a blast of controlled fire through the ring accurately; two more appeared behind her, cueing her to turn and double-punch twice rapidly launching two individual blasts of fire accurately through the rings. A neon blue ring formed behind her with another crimson one forming in front of her, quickly reacting like lightning, she turned and fired a wave of flames through the crimson ring and back flipped through the air with some help from airbending, mid-air she bent the water from the nearby waterfall stream running through the cave only a few hundred feet away. She landed as this stream circled around her before she gestured her hand sharply at the ring, phase-shifting the liquid into ice which perfectly flew through the ring, shattering against the cave wall behind them. A bright white circular ring formed behind her which she could feel somehow, turning and blasting a powerful torrent of wind through said ring but, passing through it nearly hit a non-combatant that she hadn't noticed was now standing outside the ring.
Red Tornado held a hand up as his aerokinetic abilities dispersed her blast of wind without even staggering the android, "You possess very unique abilities, Korra, your training displays a dedication that this team appears to need," he slowly walked away from the holoring with his mechanical stoic expression, not that he could help the way his faceplate was designed.
"T-Thanks," she tried to say but, it didn't seem to register with the android who continued to walk away.
"Stay out of my head!" Artemis and Korra stopped their training, or at least, the archer stopped watching the Avatar's glistening skin as the sweat began to layer her arms and neck. It was Superboy who exited the kitchen in a huff, sitting down on the green couch facing the large television but, only looking down at the ground.
Korra left the holoring and approached the boy of steel with a raised brow, "What happened?" she asked calmly.
"None of your business," he responded rudely.
Korra shrugged and turned to face the rest of the group following M'gaan down a corridor which, if memory served her right, led directly to an elevator which subsequently led to the hanger bay. Artemis followed Korra down the hall with Kaldur, Robin, Wally, and M'gaan the latter of whom doubled back to check on Superboy. She gave him a warm smile and pleaded, "Please?" she asked in the sweetest most innocent voice he'd ever heard.
"Don't talk to me," he murmured leaving M'gaan disappointed but, she didn't turn away just yet only frowning as though her feelings were hurt; Superboy sighed and placed his hands on his knees, standing up to follow her as the Martian's giddy smile returned, guiding him to the elevator as well.
Once the trip down a few stories was finished, the doors split apart revealing a large open space with just one 'ship' sitting stationary in the center of the room. It was simply a crimson sphere with black trim, not anything to gawk at considering even the planes Korra had experienced in her world seemed more impressive, that is until M'gaan clarified.
M'gaan clapped her hands together excitedly, "This is my Bio-Ship," she announced, reveling in it as it was the one part of her home planet she had left aside from her Uncle.
Wally spoke up with his scientific mind, "Cute… not aerodynamic in the slightest but, cute…" he spoke without understanding how the ship could fly based on Earth's physics.
M'gaan giggled, which she seemed to do a lot Korra noticed, as she turned back to the ship, "That's because she's resting, here, I'll wake her up…" with a gesture of her hand the sphere melded open and grew as though it were completely organic, changing shape, becoming larger with slick wings and an open space within that could fit them all. The ship rotated one-eighty and allowed the door to shift open into a ramp leading into the Bio-Ship itself, Korra and Artemis followed the others as they stepped into the alien spacecraft.
Korra was slightly startled by the ship forming and melding together six different seats while M'gaan took the helm in the back where she summoned two glowing blue neon spheres which acted as mental receptors guiding the ship with her mind. Once Korra and Artemis took their seats next to one another, two black straps which seemed just organic as the rest of the ship wrapped themselves around each passenger automatically, "Woah," Korra muttered.
"Red Tornado, please open the bay doors," M'gaan asked politely through the comms which obviously reached the android considering within seconds the massive concrete and rock walls closing off the hangar split open for them.
Korra was shocked by the acceleration as they darted out of the cave, doing a spinning maneuver over the city adjacent to their mountain base, giving the entire community a good look from a few thousand feet up. Korra was even more shocked at the lack of g-force, as if the ship itself kept them from feeling the rapid changes in directions or speed, "Wow… this is amazing," she mumbled as Artemis couldn't help but smile at her lack of experience. Even she had been in a plane before but, also she had to admit that being in an alien spaceship with a group of heroes was definitely new for her too.
"She sure is…" Wally muttered with his eyes on Korra who turned to glance at him with a confused brow raised, "I mean the ship! The ship is a she, I was talking about the ship," he insisted.
Artemis couldn't help but internally laugh at how hard Wally was trying, being totally oblivious to Korra's sexual orientation; the Avatar shrugged and turned her attention back out the window.
Robin chuckled aloud, speaking towards Korra this time, "He's fast on his feet, his mouth? Not so much," this caused M'gaan, Artemis, and Korra to giggle just a bit as Wally announced furiously embarrassed.
"Dude!"
Kaldur turned to Superboy who sat directly beside him, he smiled a bit, "I do not have psychic powers but, I can guess what you're thinking…" this prompted the boy of steel to turn to face Aqualad, still stoic and silent even as Kaldur finished his sentence, "Just say sorry," he offered the simplest advice.
Superboy narrowed his eyes and turned back to stare aimlessly out the window; his thoughts were interrupted when Robin spoke up, addressing M'gaan directly, "He'll come around," he whispered.
M'gaan glanced back down at the floor even as she kept her mind connected to the ship so it could fly, she responded solemnly, "He doesn't seem to like me very much…"
Kid Flash chuckldd lightly and spoke up in a whisper, "You guys realize he has super-hearing?"
Realizing this far too late, Robin tried to lighten the mood by changing the subject, "Hey, I know, why don't you show us some Martian shapeshifting?"
M'gaan gave a light smile and stood up from her seat, taking a few steps forwards it was clear to them that she controlled the ship with her mind more than with the glowing spheres she was using. She glanced over at Korra who blinked at the few second long stare, M'gaan finally got the proper image in her head and slowly shifted her appearance. Her legs and feet began the transformation first, molding into her black, skin-tight pants before the teal-blue sleeveless shirt formed over her torso, although she couldn't change her skin tone from anything aside from Caucasian. While she was a dead ringer for Korra, tall with shoulder length hair and identical clothes, the skin-tone difference was a dead-ringer as to which one of them was the original. "I'm not great at changing skin tone, I also can't really do guys very well… I always end up as a female version of whoever I'm trying to replicate," the Korra duplicate stated.
Korra was shocked as she looked herself up and down, her skin tone was as pale as Asami's but, everything else was identical to herself, even her sky-blue eyes. "That… is so cool," Korra muttered as M'gaan quickly reverted and shifted back into her normal form of lime green skin and young school-girl attire.
"So, you can alter your clothes as well?" Kaldur questioned out of pure curiosity.
M'gaan smiled as she grabbed the hem of her maroon crop-top jacket over the white blouse she wore beneath, "They're completely organic, they respond to my mental commands just like the ship," although she was excited to share this information with new friends, one of them wasn't in the mood.
Superboy scoffed, looking away still out the front window, "As long as they're the only ones," he responded, feeling violated by her mental intrusion earlier.
Korra leaned back to speak with Robin who was directly behind her, "I know he has super hearing but, is there a reason he's being a jerk to M'gaan?"
Superboy clenched his fists to control his rage as Robin answered politely, "He's a clone and when we found him, he was being brainwashed by these psychic mutant things and-" the half-Kryptonian slammed his fists on the dashboard and stood up, turning to face them as Robin stopped his response.
"Stop talking," he muttered through his teeth, clearly enraged.
Korra pulled on her organic seatbelt prompting it to unlatch allowing her to stand as well, stepping forwards to face Superboy with a fierce expression, "You've been a jerk since we met, and maybe everyone else here is either used to it or just don't have the courage to tell you but, insult another person in this ship and I'll make damn sure you drop twenty-thousand feet without a parachute," her eyes illuminated very briefly, standing an inch or two taller than him, he scoffed and backed off, retaking his seat next to Kaldur.
"Red Tornado to Miss Martian; there's been a security alert at the Happy Harbor power plant, investigate and report back," the android spoke through comms which the entire group overheard.
"Message received, adjusting course now," M'gaan quickly commanded the ship to make a full U-turn, back towards the city as they descended toward the power plant.
As they approached, Wally scoffed, "Tornado keeping us busy, I bet this isn't even worth our time…" he folded his arms with Artemis correcting him.
"Does a massive tornado tearing through the parking lot seem worth your time?" she announced looking out the window juxtaposed to her, the massive funnel of wind lifted cars off their wheels and shredded the asphalt as it passed.
"I've got this," Korra announced, "M'gaan could I get an exit?"
"We should go at this together," Kaldur responded but, Korra ignored him and looked back to M'gaan who reluctantly melded open a circular hole in the bottom of the Bio-Ship.
Korra nodded at Artemis, giving her a sly wink before pencil diving out of the ship, "We have to land and help her!" the archer announced.
"I cant believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Artemis, this might be our first mission, we can't let her take all the credit!" Wally announced with a scoff thrown in there, he quickly glanced down out the window and outside the ship.
Korra landed with an earthbending stomp right in front of the tornado, she quickly began bending the air around her, walking in intricate circles with her hands positioned outwards; the tornado itself began to dissipate slowly as she waved her hands in yet another gesture lowering her hands down prompting the wind to subside. Though just as the Bio-Ship landed and the team filed out one by one, Korra was just distracted enough to barely register a bolt of lightning striking her in the chest. The explosion created a plume of smoke with Korra being launched from the ash, tumbling into a heap on her stomach, groaning in pain.
Artemis knelt down by Korra's side, turning her over revealed a seared hole in her outfit plus a raw burn in the center of her chest; what would have fried a normal man alive, only barely broke Korra's durable skin. Her eyes snapped open as she gasped, feeling her searing chest with her fingertips while sitting up.
"Robin, are tornados common in New England?" Kaldur asked aloud but turned in a circle realizing the boy-wonder was already gone, "Robin?" a mischievous laughter echoed out from the power-plant factory.
"He's already inside," Artemis announced as they all turned their attention to large warehouse sized power-plant where windows were being blown apart one by one from the inside.
They all followed quickly into the factory where they found Robin being launched across the room by a gust of pressurized wind, hitting a support beam back first, sliding down to his knees where he caught his breath. Superboy was the first to kneel down and ensure he wasn't injured, "Who's your new friend?" he asked.
Robin slowly stood as Superboy took that as a sign to stand and analyze the enemy standing before them, a bulky mechanical man in crimson armor with black trim standing nearly ten-feet-tall, neon-blue tubes of energy ran from his back into his gauntlets on either forearm, "Didn't catch his name but, he likes to play rough!"
"Excuse my manners, you can call me, Mr. Twister," the air around him vibrated with the energy generated from his gauntlets; Superboy sprinted forth at a quarter the speed of sound, a haymaker reeled back and prepared to strike. Before he made it halfway across the room, a whirlwind suddenly picked up within the factory keeping Superboy back even as he tried to press through, the wind suddenly focused In on the Kryptonian forming a vortex around him, spinning him out of control and launching him into the wall on the far side of the factory.
Artemis fired two explosive arrows which were caught in the wind and sent in different directions, the explosives hitting the ground and wall around him; Korra shifted her stance as she caught sight of the enemy, stomping her foot into the ground and bringing her arms out, closing them together by the forearms. This simultaneously summoned three slabs of rock to pultrude from beneath the concrete ground in an attempt to surround and pin this Mr. Twister character from all sides.
"Impressive," the armored villain announced as his cybernetics began to struggle, cracking apart the earth pinning him before quickly swinging his arms outwards shattering the makeshift prison, "Not nearly impressive enough."
Kid Flash pulled a pair of goggles from his pocket and slid them over his head to cover his eyes from wind-sheer, nodding towards M'gaan and Kaldur, he darted off at twice the speed of sound forcing himself through the wind for a mach two powered drop-kick to the center of the villains armor. This did nothing as Twister easily used wind to spin Wally around and blast him through the wall and into the parking-lot, tumbling to a heap.
Kaldur and M'gaan charged forth while he was slightly distracted, but even with the former's strength and the latter's levitation, they were still blown back with enough force to send them both across the room. Kaldur cracked a portion of a support pillar with his back before collapsing while M'gaan was launched back into the wall passed Artemis and Korra, "I was expecting to be faced with heroes, not children…"
Robin, who was still standing, held an explosive behind his back, his brow furrowed at the enemies insult, "We're not children!" he shouted launching the explosive which detonated in the whirlwind surrounding the armored menace, though as the smoke from the explosion cleared another shuriken embedded itself dead-center in the man's armor.
Twister scoffed, "Objectively, you are," he flicked the shuriken off his chest, "Without adult supervision I find your presence here… disturbing."
The others gathered together with Korra waiting in the back still recovering with Artemis by her side, with Robin still upfront, he shouted in response, "Sorry, to hear you disturbed but, maybe you'll be more turbed once we kick your sorry can!"
M'gaan gripped a large metallic object pultruding from the ceiling, tearing it from its position released a large wave of steam encompassing the villains vision; Superboy took this opportunity to leap into the air with another haymaker prepped to strike, however he was intercepted by a whirlwind of air blasting him back into the ceiling before gravity brought him back down accidently landing atop M'gaan. Both of them tumbling into a heap as Robin and Kaldur took their turn to rush the enemy, though Twister simply generated two powerful vortexes around them both spinning them relentlessly before forcing the wind to slam them both face first into one another, collapsing backwards in a groaning heap of their own.
"Pathetic," Twister was basking in his victory though he was still not satisfied as he was hoping his real target would have intercepted him, not this team of amateurs. It was then that the mechanized man just barely swung his arm to the right using a small gust of wind to redirect a trick arrow which exploded behind him, "As I said, pathetic."
Korra took a deep breath, trying her best to ignore the pain in her chest from the lightning strike she took only minutes ago, stepping forwards she put a hand on Artemis' shoulder prompting her to step back, "I'm gonna end this…" the Avatar strutted forth with a confidence only being a literal demi-goddess could give a person.
"You? I'm waiting for a real hero, not yet another child in over her head," Twister created a massive hurricane within the factory, blowing out each and every window and breaking every door off their hinges, the others could barely stand but, Korra stood her ground.
Her eyes flashed brightly with neon white-light, signifying her amp in physical strength and bending prowess, she unconsciously formed a sphere of wind around herself which protected her from said high-winds Twister was attempting to use against her. With her Avatar State still active, she switched her stance quickly, reaching out, gripping the mechanical menace by the steel and iron within his suit, before clenching her fists, crushing the hydraulics, and with a yank of her hands backwards, she tore the chest plate off. It was tossed aside as Korra took multiple steps forwards, practically dancing as each of her gestures tore another piece of metal from the suit, the man within was struggling to back away but, the grip she had on every ounce of metal on him was too strong.
"Hergh!" Korra felt the pain in her chest still burning as her last gesture tore apart the suit completely revealing a thin, weakened man, appearing to be some sort of scientist with brown hair, a lab-coat, and thick glasses.
"F-F-Fowl! I call fowl!" he insisted as he quivered.
Kaldur approached from behind as Korra exhaled through her nose, allowing the spirit of light within her to subside, "You did good work," he complimented.
"Not over yet," Korra huffed and turned on a dime jabbing the air sent a wave of searing hot flames engulfing the man entirely, before they could see the result, the rest of the group reacted.
"Korra, No!" Kaldur shouted with immense distress, "We do not execute criminals in this world!" he turned around to face him, "Do you know what you've just done?!"
Korra chuckled and took Kaldur by his shoulders instead, turning him around as everyone watched the man engulfed in flames slowly melt apart until he was nothing but a malfunctioning android with silver armor beneath his artificial skin, "I could sense the metal within the suit, there was no organic life inside."
Artemis was relieved more than anyone else, she wouldn't have even begun to understand how to talk to her if she was okay with straight up murder but, she clearly knew what she was doing, "I see," Kaldur responded, "My apologies, you did good work after all."
Kid Flash sped back in and grabbed a discarded cybernetic eyeball from the android that was nearly burnt into scrap by now, "Souvenir!" he shouted as he dusted the ash off it.
…
While Robin, Superboy, M'gaan, Kaldur, Wally, and Red Tornado analyzed the crispy remains of the android who subsequently piloted the larger android; Artemis and Korra returned to their room in the cave, though the former spent weekends at her mothers, she found herself more than comfortable here, so long as Korra was there with her.
"So… about last night," Artemis muttered bringing back memories of their time spent passionately atop a roof in the middle of the city, "I'm sorry if I took it too far or whatever, I know you wanted to take it slow and I may have gotten carried away," sitting on the edge of the bed, Artemis spoke to Korra who was in the bathroom but, within earshot.
As she exited the bathroom, the door slid shut behind her leaving her in her white tank-top and blue pajama-pants, "D-Don't apologize! I kinda, maybe… really liked it," her cheeks flushed with crimson as she approached the archer still sitting in her costumed uniform.
"You don't mean that, you were just caught up in the moment, I don't wanna push you to do something you aren't ready for, I mean I know my way around the block but, if this is your first time with… that type of stuff… I don't wanna rush you," Artemis looked up into Korra's eyes, the sparkling pools of sky-blue staring back down at her.
Korra responded with a more serious expression, falling to her knees in front of Artemis, opening her mouth slightly so her tongue could stick out, forcing a red-hot blush to encompass the archers face, "I'll obey, mistress," she winked up at her roommate and secret girlfriend, giving her reassurance that this type of play was more than okay with her.
