A week has passed since Embry left Angela at her grandmothers. He has been unable to shift back into his human form. Jacob and Quil have lied to his grandmother and told her that they were going camping and wouldn't be back for a couple of weeks. Luckily that wasn't uncommon for the trio so she wasn't concerned.

Bella was in the kitchen with Emily at Sam's house "I'm really concerned for Embry" she said as she helped Emily make some buns for the guys. Emily nodded "yeah, me too. I hope she doesn't take much longer to decide".

AHEM!

Both girls turned to the front door. Bella gasped.

"Angela!" she called as she made her way round to give her a hug. Emily smiled with relief. "I went to your house and your dad said you were in La Push with Jacob. I went to his house and his dad said you were here and gave me directions, I hope that's ok?" she asked as she looked at Emily.

Emily smiled and walked out from behind the kitchen counter "of course it is, I'm Emily. I'm an imprint too". Angela smiled warmly at her. "That's perfect, because I need some more information about this whole imprint wolf thing. I was planning on just talking to Bella but, since you're an imprint. Would you mind if I ask you a few questions?"

"Of course, I was just as unsure as you are. Come, let us sit down at the table". She collected three chocolate buns she had made earlier.

Angela was fiddling with her sleeves, she was unsure how to start. Emily smiled at Bella before placing her hand on top of Angela's. "Just take a deep breath and then start" she said to calm her.

Angela took her advice and took a deep breath. "Well, the first question I guess I want to ask is. Are they dangerous? I mean, I have heard rumours about them" she seemed.

Bella chuckled "yeah, I heard those rumours too from Jake. That was before he joined the pack. Jake even called them a cult. Especially after Embry left him and Quil to join Sam, Paul and Jared. People thought they were up to no good because they weren't like everyone else. Walking around in next to nothing, running off into the woods. Even sticking to Sam like he was their leader. They just didn't know what was really happening. The pack, are like brothers, they look out of each other and the people on the reservation. They are protectors, they are loyal and they are the most warm, friendly people I have ever met".

Angela smiled "that's good" she felt relieved to know that Bella thought so highly of them. "Ok, next question. What exactly does Embry expect from me? Regarding being his imprint"

"Embry only wants you to be you, he's only wants to be there for you in any way that you want him to be. Being the wolf's imprint doesn't mean that you should be his girlfriend, wife or lover. You can be just friends, he can even feel like your brother. When I met Sam, he was with someone else. My cousin Leah. I didn't want to believe it, I didn't want to hurt Leah. It took me awhile to accept the imprint, but I still didn't want a romantic relationship" Emily explained.

"What changed your mind?" Angela asked.

Emily touched her scars gently with a sad smile "I remember talking with Sam and he was explaining to me about the imprint and that I was his but, of course I didn't believe him, I got angry because of Leah. He was in the beginning stages of his change and he didn't have full control over his phasing and the anger he was feeling because I was rejecting him, caused him to change and I was too close. I was in the hospital for a long time, he was the one who got me to hospital. The La Push hospital is close to the forest and because he wasn't family and had just broken up with Leah he couldn't stay in my room, but I could feel him in the forest. One night my family left my window open, I was only on the second floor. When everyone had gone, he climbed through my window. He thought I was asleep. He started crying, I could hear him apologising repeatedly. He promised he would leave me alone if that was what I wanted and then he left".

Emily looked sad as she replayed the memory. "I went home and every day I would think about Sam. I started to think about what happened. I knew I didn't hate him, I knew it was an accident. So, I decided to come back to La Push. I came to see him and, like I said earlier I didn't want anything romantic. So, we started as friends. He seemed relieved to have me around and he never pressure me to be anything more".

"When did you decide to be something more" asked Angela. Emily smiled "well that happened when I wasn't looking, I couldn't even tell you the day or time when it happened. I started spending quite a bit of time with Sam. My aunt didn't like that I was, because of Leah. However, my uncle at the time was ok with it. I found out later it was because he knew about Sam and that I was his imprint. Even though it meant hurting Leah, he stuck up for me. I got to know Sam quite well and with all the time we spent together I started to realise that I was hoping he was try something. You know when you go a date to a movie or something and you hope the guy will find a way to put his arm around you or hold your hand. I started wanting that, wanting him. However, he didn't try anything".

"I started to think that maybe he didn't want me. I was self-conscious about my scars so, I thought that was the reason he didn't try anything. I remember talking to my aunt and she told me about when she first met my uncle. He was too shy to make the first move so, she did. That got me thinking maybe Sam was too shy. Maybe he wanted to make the move but, because of everything with the accident and Leah he couldn't. So, I decided to make the move myself". Emily looked quite pleased with herself.

Angela nodded "but, what made you decide you wanted him as more than a friend?"

"I knew because no one else has ever made me feel so safe. I knew that he would never hurt me. When he would look at me, my heart would jump. Even now, I feel just like I did that first time he looked at me".

Angela nodded "thank you Emily, you've given me a lot to think about". Emily patted her hand "think nothing of it, you are part of the pack now. You can come to me anytime".

"How has Embry been?" Angela asked. Bella and Emily shared a look which didn't go unnoticed by Angela "what?" she asked.

Emily smiled sadly "Embry phased not long after leaving your grandmother's. He hasn't been able to change back. The effect of leaving you behind caused his wolf to become very agitated". Angela looked really worried now.

"I need to see him" she said as she got up and made to go towards the door.

"Wait!" called Emily. "He's in the forest right now, Sam will be back soon then he can take you".

Angela nodded still slightly agitated. As Bella and Emily chatted Angela's eyes lingered on the back door, hoping to see Sam.
