Total Eclipse of the Heart
Ok so I decided instead of Mob Angst what if I could somehow involve Milo in my own take on this counterfeit drug SL that way I can keep it to the hospital aspect somewhat what do you think of this? Should I go for it? Anyways standard disclaimers now please do enjoy...
He wondered why he let Spinelli convince him of this, or did he convince Spinelli, he really didn't care. The point was that he was going to do it; he was going to ask Claire out on a date. He was grateful for the moment that he didn't have to go with Sonny to do any work and hoped that on Friday his luck would still be in his favor. His biggest fear wasn't that Claire would say no but that she'd say yes and he'd need a reason to cancel last minute without telling her the reason was that Sonny Corinthos needed him to receive a shipment or something.
Max wasn't there at the moment; he wondered if his older brother was on the job or with Diane, he really didn't care at the moment. He was just glad that his brother wasn't there giving him any added stresses telling him how he needed to get a girl already, tell him that he was 25 and was fixing to become the male equivalent of an old maid.
Taking a deep breath he picked up his phone and pulled out the napkin from his pocket looking at the number printed in her neat scrawl.
Hi, you have reached Kyle and Claire...
He listened to the voice message play and at the beep he hung up. He wasn't going to ask someone out via answering machine. He wanted to do it properly, he was going to do this face to face, he was going to head over to the Hospital and see her.

Meanwhile at the hospital Claire and Kyle were stealing a moment on the stairwell.
"Here," Kyle said handing Claire a can of Diet Cola.
"Thank you."
Claire smiled taking a sip of the soda looking over at her friend.
"So, any interesting cases today."
"No, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."
"Seriously I see it as a good thing, I mean I know we are supposed to be helping people but once just once I would like to take on a normal appendectomy or ear infection."
"What as opposed to the Syphilis outbreak from the Senior Center."
Claire laughed.
"Yea, that must have been."
"Awkward."
"Yea..."
"Anyways enough about work..."
Claire rolled her eyes already sensing where the conversation was going.
"Let me guess are you going to ask me if I'm going to go back to that coffee house and try to bump into Milo again."
"Maybe."
"Nah, I figure I gave him my number, if the fates want us together then it will be."
"So you're not interested."
"No, I'm interested."
"Then go to the coffee house, I'll go with you if you want..."
"I'll think about it."
He smiled as she looked at the clock on the wall. Her break was ending and she needed to head back to work before she got ratted out. After all the eyes of the higher ups were now all around as there was something meddlesome once again happening at the hospital. Claire particularly felt bad for nurse Crowell during this heightened security watch as she had learnt that last years drama of a hospital saboteur was none other then Nadine's younger sister Jolene who still lay in a coma. This time around however there was some kind of counterfeit drug scandal going round. Some people suspected Ian Devilan, a doctor who had been killed before Claire started her internship had set up some kind of inside drug running job back earlier in the year while others, mainly Nadine swore up and down that it was Medical resident Matt Hunter who was the cause. As long as it wasn't her or Kyle which she knew it wasn't and as long as none of the counterfeit drugs touched her patients well Claire really didn't care.
Taking a deep breath she began to make her rounds.
-
Milo entered the hospital and made his way towards the tenth floor nurse's station where head nurse Epiphany Johnson was standing.
"Ok who got shot this time," she said a tinge of resentment in her voice as she had lost her son Stan to mob activities back in January.
"No one mame."
"Then why are you here at this hospital."
"I-um."
He placed his hands in his pocket as they felt clammy. He mentally talked himself up.
"I can do this...I can do this...I can."
"Speak up," Epiphany said.
"I-um that is I was wondering if Claire was on duty."
"Claire Simpson,"
"I don't know her last name; she's a resident here right."
"Intern, anyway what business do you have with a member of this staff..."
-
Claire and Kyle made their way into the reception area as Claire noticed Milo talking to Epiphany.
"Oh my god," she said blushing and turning away.
Kyle looked over to the man talking to the head nurse and let out a half smile.
"Is that...is he..."
Claire nodded.
"He's cute."
"Thank you captain obvious."
"So is that a big enough sign that fate wants you to go out with him, him showing up here."
Claire bit his lip about to respond when she saw Milo's eyes look over in her direction.
"There she is," Milo said to Epiphany, "I promise it will only be a second."
Epiphany rolled her eyes and nodded letting Milo move toward Claire.
Claire motioned Kyle to give her and Milo time alone.
"We meet again," Claire said.
Milo smiled nodding.
"I hope you don't think I'm an imposiession or anything."
"Of coarse not, you're a bright spot in my otherwise dull shift."
Milo smiled his perfectly white teeth melting Claire to the core as she listened to him talk.
"Anyway I was kind of wondering, are you free on Friday."
Kyle who couldn't stay away for long walked up behind Claire and smiled.
"She is."
Claire slugged him.
"So, do you want to go out with me, I mean if you don't want it to be a date date it's fine I mean I have friends coming too, it will be a group thing and I'm rambling I'm sorry."
"She'll be there," Kyle said as Claire looked at him.
"I can answer for myself Kyle."
"Well then Claire, Friday night, Jake's..."
"Sounds like fun," she said watching Milo smile and Kyle clap.
"Well then I will see you Friday, I'll let you get back to work before Epiphany calls security."
Claire nodded.
"See you Friday."
Milo began to walk away before he turned back.
"Seven."
"Seven," Claire repeated smiling.
--
As soon as Milo left Claire let out a sigh. She wondered if this could be it. If she finally found the perfect guy in Milo or if this relationship would be marked for disaster like all the ones she had before.
Meanwhile Milo headed into the hospital parking lot and pulled out his cell.
"Spinelli hey, she said yes..."
In listening to his friend's congratulatory yet nervous ramblings he let out a laugh.
"It's ok; we'll be in this whole first date boat together."
