A few days had passed and things were slowly shifting back to focus for the victims of the blast. Kyle had checked out of the hospital and had since moved in to the brownstone with Lucas and his mother Bobbie while Milo checked out as well. Claire was still checked in waiting for the repairs on her house to be ready while Matt was do to be checked out at any given moment.

Speaking of Matt hunter he was stirring up in his hospital bed fully dressed in a pair of clean cloths that Maxie had brought over from the house.
"So you're ready to check out of this place, "Patrick said to his brother.
Matt smiled.
"Yea and not a moment to soon."
"Yea when you have to be on the other end of it, it kind of sucks."
"Wow we actually agree on something."
Patrick laughed at the statement and nodded before he got paged.
"When you're up for it I'll get you a drink at Jakes."
Matt smiled.
"I can't wait."
Patrick left as Nadine stood in the doorway smiling.
"Hey handsome."
Matt let out a laugh still letting it settle in that he actually had a girlfriend and not just some other fling.
"Hey, so am I ready to bust outta here."
Matt nodded.
"And not a moment too soon," Matt said rubbing his stubble, "It will be a relief to have my self a shave, to sleep in my own bed."
"Wait, shave seriously…but I like your beard."
He let out a laugh as she took his hand and pulled him to a standing position.
"Isn't a wheelchair procedure."
"We're doctors; we can bend the rules a bit."
"Rule breaking, didn't know you had a wild streak Crowell."
She lowered her voice to a seductive tone.
"Well there is allot you don't know about you Hunter."
He was defiantly intrigued as he looked over at her trying not to crack up.
"Anyway Matt s everything's set and commissioner Scorpio totally agreed to…"
"If your going to say move in let me stop you right there."
Nadine pouted.
"Why, you were just in an explosion you need to be taken care of."
"I'll have Maxie."
"MAXIE, Maxie isn't a nurse; Maxie has a full time job at Crimson not to mention her own boyfriend, her own life."
"You're not going to give up on this."
"Not a chance."
Matt sighed in defeat.

Jason paced the floor of the penthouse as he looked over at Milo and Spinelli who were sitting over on the couch.
"Alright," the enforcer said looking at the two younger men, "what do we have."
Spinelli sighed thinking that they had gone over all of this before.
"Jerry Jacks was working with someone, presumably Andre Karpov to run counterfeit drugs."
"And most likely Dr. Devlin took part of that in one of his many dastardly deeds."
Jason nodded.
"But no hard evidence."
"The Jackal is working on getting solid facts."
"Well work harder," Jason said as his phone vibrated from the desk. Seeing that it was Elizabeth Webber's number he made an excuse to leave knowing the nurse wanted him for a booty call and though it was dangerous he wanted her as well.
Soon Milo and Spinelli were alone.
"So how's Claire."
"She's stuck looking at those drab cement hospital walls for at least another week before her loft is done."
Spinelli pouted.
"That sucks man."
"I know, I mean I wish there was something I could do for her you know."
"Like break her out."
"Or find her a place already wheelchair accessible."
"You're the Jackal, get on it. Right now I'm running late, Claire starts theory and I need to be there."
"Just don't strain yourself slick."
Milo smiled.
"Cross my heart."

Meanwhile across town Maxie was pacing the Crimson office. Kate had some emergency meeting in the city leaving her pretty much in charge. Just then the elevator to the third floor Metro Court office opened and out walked Lucas.
"Hey cuz," he said smiling, "I come bearing gifts."
Maxie took in the sent of Bobbie's famous cookies and smiled.
"Lucas you got to stop doing this or I'll have to squeeze into next season's Marc Jacobs"
He smiled and began to pull away the bag when Maxie shook her head and snatched a cookie. Taking a bite she smiled.
"So what brings you here?"
"I wanted to just say hi."
"Well hi, so how is the whole cohabitation thing with Kyle going."
"Real good considering."
"Considering what."
"I don't know, it feels like we never even went out on a real date."
"Um Hello you were together when he got the disturbing image of Claire."
"True...I guess just after everything I want to impress him."
Maxie smiled.
"Kyle Julian seems like a guy who would be easy to impress with a concert in the part or a
Showing of an old movie at the playhouse or something."
Lucas nodded.
"KISS huh, Keep it simple stupid."
"Exactly, though you're not stupid."
Lucas smirked.
"Gee thanks."
"Anytime."
"So, where is the fashionista today?"
"You've been hanging round my boyfriend too long Lu."
Lucas chuckled.
"Anyway Kate is in the city."
"And she left Crimson to you."
"Well for twenty for hours, less then even."
"Still."
Lucas smiled putting his arm around her.
"You're doing good kiddo."
Maxie rolled her eyes, she wasn't a kid she was just a few months younger then him, and it was the fact that she repeated a year in High School that made him feel an extra sense of maturity.

Milo made his way into the hospital thanking god that he wasn't pulled over for speeding across town from Harberview Towers. As he made his way up to her room he noticed her sitting up in her bed reading a paperback book titled 'New Moon'
"Is it any good," Milo asked throwing her off kilter.
"Huh what."
She looked over at him and smiled.
"Oh hi Milo when did you get here."
"Just, so the book is it any good."
"Not as good as the first I mean Edward is barely in it so far and....well never mind how are you feeling."
"Good considering I was in a major explosion, my girlfriend is paralyzed and we still haven't found out anything more about the drugs."
Claire smiled.
"What."
"You called me your girlfriend," she said in a sing song voice, "I'm sorry I still can't get over the fact."
"Neither can I, especially after everything we've been through to get to this point."
"You mean me spilling coffee on you, getting shot, my kidnapping...."
"Shh it's all in the past."
"Yes but we have a long road ahead of us."
"True."
He leaned over to kiss her as Leo entered the room.
"I'm sorry, was I interrupting."
Claire looked up blushing a bit as her roommate's brother and former attending standing in the doorway.
"Hi," she said waving to him.
"So are we ready to get this show on the road."
Claire nodded taking Milo's hand before Leo headed to get her into her chair.
"Don't worry Claire," he said, "you WILL walk again I promice you."

Matt and Nadine stood in front of Commissioner Scorpio's house now as Matt looked over at the perky blonde.
"Are you sure you want to do this."
"Of course, it's just like Aunt Raylene said...."
He rolled his eyes.
"I am not in the mood for another one of your crazy aunt's Kentucky Fried sayings."
"She's from Ohio," Nadine mumbled putting a key in the door.
"You have a key."
"I'm borrowing Maxie's till I get one made."
Matt rolled his eyes as they entered the empty house where a banner was hanging saying 'Welcome Home Mattie'
He shook his head trying not to laugh. Nadine Crowell was something else and he had no clue why he was drawn to her zaniness and not going crazy by it.
"Alright, sit down."
Matt did as he was told as Nadine sat down next to him.
"Alright now what."
Nadine shrugged.
"I thought we could chill out in front of the boob tube for a bit."
"I've been sitting in front of a TV for what seems like forever."
"Yes, but I'm sure the comish had better cable."
Matt smiled. That was true.
"I'm going to grab us a drink and it's about time for your meds which I checked and double checked were legit and not counterfeit."
He watched as she entered the kitchen before flipping on the Television stopping when he reached a channel with bubblegum poppy music.
Nadine entered the room and let out a laugh.
"High School musical."
Matt put up two fingers grinning.
"Two," he said watching as the blonde Diva Sharpay was singing around the pool.
"Matt Hunter has a secret crush on Ashley Tisdale who knew."
Matt just smirked as Nadine crashed back on the couch with him.

Lucas looked over at his watch.
"I'm sure Kyle is wondering where I ran off too."
"Yea, doesn't take too long to fatten me up."
Lucas smirked.
"Don't work too hard."
Maxie nodded promising she wouldn't stress herself as her cousin left.
Heading into Kate's office her mind suddenly began to wander.....
She was suddenly lost inside a world where she was running the show, calling the shots....
"Did you finish the layout for the next issue," She yelled out to her employee who happened to be Lulu Spencer in this fantasy.
"Yes Miss Jones," Lulu said.
"Well can I see it?"
Lulu began to stammer as Maxie flicked her hand shooing her out of the office.
She then began to fix her well polished ensemble in the floor length office mirror as their was a knock on the door.
Turning around on her designer heels she smiled at the well dressed man in the door way.
"Damian what brings you here?"
He grinned taking a step closer to her before running his hand through her hair and nipping at her neck with his lips.
She tensed up inside as she pressed a button on her phone.
"Lulu hold all my calls."
His lips still pressing against her he began to back her toward her large oak desk pinning her between him and it.
She let out a sigh....

Jason reentered the penthouse now to see Spinelli still hard at work.
"So, how was your tryst with the maternal one?"
Jason blinked wondering if it was that obvious that he was sleeping around with Elizabeth.
"The Jackal promises he would never tell."
Jason nodded believing him.
"So any more leads."
Spinelli clicked off her real estate site he was looking at for Milo and Claire and brought back up his earlier search.
"Nope, no leads, sorry Stone Cold."
"Well then keep looking."
Spinelli nodded as Jason headed upstairs.

Claire's session ended and Milo looked over at her.
"So how do you feel?"
"Hopeful," she muttered as he kissed her on the cheek before looking over at Leo.
"Do you think it would be alright if I took her for a walk around the grounds?"
Leo shrugged
"I think it would be good for her, I don't see why not."
Milo smiled as he pushed Claire's chair out to the courtyard.

Lucas reentered the brownstone to see Kyle and Bobbie on the couch.
"Please don't tell me you're showing him my baby pictures."
"Come on," Kyle said, 'you were so cute back then."
Lucas looked at him.
"Not like your hideous not cause your not, you're still cute."
Lucas mouthed thanks before Bobbie excused herself.
"So, how was Maxie?"
"Good, any word about Claire."
"No news is good news I guess."
Lucas nodded.
"So, anyway if you're up for it they play movies in the park every so often and well they are showing one tonight."
"Tonight it's a weeknight."
Lucas shrugged.
"So are you in."
Kyle grinned.
"I'm in."

She was still in a daze, a fantasy if you will....
Pinned against her desk now his lips pressed against her body as he began to unzip her dress and she began to unbutton his dress shirt.
They were just about to begin the troughs of making love when she snapped back into reality and pulled out her phone.
"Spinelli, I need you."

Alright so I'm still in a bind as to where I want to go with the drug element of this. All I know is that I have a Claire/Milo scene happening in a few 'soap' days. I hope you like this and continue to put up with me. Any ideas/suggestions are graciously welcomed.
