I had some difficulty writing this, as I have never really related to the character in question. I hope you enjoy.
You didn't have to Neil. He couldn't have stopped you forever. We would have helped you. You were awesome in the play. I don't think it is a play anybody will ever forget. Do you know what has happened Neil? The school didn't blame us, but they did blame Mr. Keating. We all turned him in. We feel horrid about it Neil. We should never have done it, the school isn't the same without you. Something is always missing.
We didn't quit though Neil, we can't sneak out to the cave anymore. The school keeps to close of a watch on us now, but we gather where and when we can and we read and recite. Each night we end with a poem you would have liked.
I hope you're happy where you are Neil, I hope you can act, or read, or be in whatever club you want to. I hope you can do everything you want. I hope everybody your with sees how great you are too Neil. I hope you wow them all.
Do you know how Mr. Keating is Neil? Can you find out that sort of stuff from where you've gone? We gave him quite a send off, but I hope he is happy now.
Neil you were really the stuff of legend. We're going to do everything we can to make sure the world remembers the mark you left on it; We're going to live our lives so full that they practically burst in honor of the years you won't get to live. Then I'll see you again, and you bet I'll tell you personally how great you were.
See you one day
