"Come on, Miral, bedtime," Tom said as he entered the living room.

Miral looked up from the stuffed bear that she was playing with, dropped it, and ran to her father

Tom picked her up gently. "Do you want Beary to go with you?" he asked, pointing to the bear.

She shook her head yes.

He picked it up, and handed the toy to Miral. She held it close to her as Tom took her upstairs to get ready for bed.

Once Miral was in pajamas, Tom slowly laid her down on her bed, and pulled the covers over her.

"Want me to tell you a story?"

Miral nodded eagerly.

Tom sat down on the edge of the bed. "Well, you see, there was this pilot. But not just any pilot, he was the only son of a renowned admiral. One day, the pilot was picked to join a starship, and travel to a far away place in order to rescue a lost group of people.

"When the starship finally came to the land where the people were last seen, a strong wind blew in from the north, and swept the starship farther from home then anyone else had ever been."

"This story sounds vaguely familiar." Both looked up to find B'Elanna leaning against the doorframe.

"Where did you come from?" Tom asked.

"I just put Aiden down. You know it's past her bedtime, right?"

"Can't I finish my story first?" he whined.

Miral giggled.

"Not tonight. We have doctor's appointments early tomorrow morning."

"Oh, alright."

B'Elanna walked over to Miral. She bent down and placed a kiss on top of Miral's forehead. "Goodnight, Miral.

"Don't I get a goodnight kiss?" Tom asked.

"I'll give you one when you go to bed." B'Elanna left the room.

"Goodnight, Mir." He kissed her on the cheek.

Before leaving the room, Tom turned around to turn off the light.

Miral watched him from under the covers. "Wove you, daddy."

Tom smiled. "I love you, too, sweetheart."
