This world...

Please note before you read any further that this is a one-shot that I did after I got really pissed at my teachers, made me think of how unfair this world was, how life wasn't always fair, and I was also bored so this story is the result.(plus I am now a K-ON fanboy)

The characters MAY seem OOC, don't criticize me on that part and this was done in 10-20 minutes of writing so it's short too, also, the feel for the story will dramatically change at the end, forgive me for the bad transition.

Anyways enough of my ramblings, enjoy!

They sat in a large meadow with seemingly endless Sight of green and a variety of flowers. The two were in a different world, a world of just them two.

"This is pretty relaxing you know." Ritsu said as she yawned and laid down on the picnic blanket.

"It is, but how did you manage to convince the other two not to come?" Yui asked.

"Oh, I just didn't tell them at all." Eitsu laughed.

Yui simply laughed back as she grabbed Ritsu's hand.

"How long have we been going out?"

"For a few months now?" Ritsu said,

"It's a wonder that no one's figured it out yet..." Yui said as she laid her head on Ritsu's lap and closed her eyes.

Although Ritsu had seen that same face countless times now, Yui's face amazed her everytime she looked at it. Her face reminded her of a sleeping baby. Unable to resist, Ritsu bent down and pecked Yui's soft tender lips.

"Mm?" Yui mumbled as she opened her eyes.

"Sorry couldn't resist." Ritsu smiled.

Yui suddenly pulled Ritsu down while shifting her own position so they were lying on the ground facing each other.

"You could at least give me a real kiss." Yui laughed as she leaned in further.

"Geez Yui, and I thought I was supposed to be the aggressive one." Ritsu laughed after their lips parted.

"Well, Danchou-sama, I do believe your pace is too slow." Yui retorted as she sat up on the blanket and gazed at the flowers and grass surrounding them.

"What are you looking at?" Ritsu asked as she too sat up while looking around.

"I was just thinking, I wonder how Ui would react if she found out..." Yui quietly said as she went into the picnic basket they had brought along to get some Oolong-tea.

"Give me some of that too." Ritsu said when she saw Yui grabbing a cup, "but I don't know, I'm sure she would accept you and love you either way since she's so caring and compassionate towards you."

"Now I think of it, how will the world feel about us? Mugi? Mio? So many questions..." Yui sighed.

"Forget about those things and enjoy this date for now, we can ponder those things after we get back to your home." Ritsu said as she took the cup which Yui had filled while talking.

Suddenly, Ritsu dropped her cup and embraced Yui tightly. Yui let out a surprised squeak as she asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's just... I've been wondering about those same things myself since we started going out, how would my parents react? How would my friends react? How will society react? And it's been bothering me more and more lately." Ritsu said as he buried her face into Yui's shoulder

Yui simply stroked Ritsu's hair as she laid down again and embraced Ritsu back as they laid down. The song that the birds were singing had an almost hypnotic effect and the two girls slowly drifted off into sleep. Sleeping like one would to escape reality, escape the pains and sufferings one must face in this world. Escaping misery, embarrasement, reality. escaping this cruel and prejudiced world. The world that would not care for the feelings of two young girls, two young minds, two young lovers. A world that would not accept two young ladies for what they believed to be right, what they did, and for their preferences.

This cruel and prejudiced world. A world that would not care.
