She was a faerie. She ran with pirates. Melchior was their captain, Ilse his first mate. Moritz was nothing and Moritz was everything. Because of this she appreciated him.

She was a flower. She was in bloom. After church, Georg smiled at her. But she should know that flowers wither and brown.

She was a petal. Falling to the floor, no hint of color left.

And in the end, she drifted away, insubstantial as anything.

A/N: So if you pay close attention to the musical and the score (and probably the original play, too, but I've only read that twice), there are several recurring themes. This is based off of my thought that Wendla is the wind (last line). Hopefully the rest will be longer!
