Festival of Beginnings
It has only been a week, although to the twins it felt like forever since they had last seen each other. Naruto was currently strolling through town with his new friends, Hinata and Neji, for a bit of Christmas shopping they needed to get finished. Hinata had yet to buy a gift for her baby sister, who was only three, as well as buy one for Naruto. Naruto was lost in his thoughts, pondering about how his sister was doing, when he got stopped by Neji.
"Huh? What's the big idea-oh…" across from the Hyuuga, plus Uzumaki, were two Uchihas, plus another Uzumaki. When the twins saw each other they smiled, ecstatic to see one another, and went to greet each other.
"Heeeey! Mitsu-chan! It's been too long!" Naruto yelled out and hugged his sister, who did the same.
"I know! I can't believe it's been a week since we last saw each other, Naru-chan!" Naruto blushed at his nickname but let it slide when his sister laughed. One of the Uchihas, the younger one, walked up to Mitsukaiko's side and glared at Naruto.
"You're Naruto, aren't you? Why are you walking with them?" Mitsukaiko had long since ascertained that the two great clans, Uchiha and Hyuuga, were…well, extreme rivals, as one should say, and had also long since discovered it was a pointless rivalry.
"What, you got something against us, Uchiha scum?" Neji replied frigidly. Itachi sighed, Here we go again, he thought.
"Who are you calling scum, trash." Neji and Sasuke both glared at each other, both having met and quarreled before. Mitsukaiko turned to an oblivious Naruto and filled him in on their rivalry while Sasuke, Neji, as well as Hinata all bickered, though Hinata was extremely hesitant to say anything insulting. Itachi jumped in whenever any of them said anything mispronounced or something that wasn't really true.
"So, Naruto, how has your week gone?" inquired Mitsukaiko to Naruto. Her twin shrugged.
"So-so. How about you?" Mitsukaiko mimicked her twin.
"So-so. I've hung out with Sasuke-kun and Itachi-kun all week. They've been helping me with my taijutsu, actually." Naruto nodded.
"Yeah…Though I don't see how you can stand to be around them. Sasuke seems like an arrogant jerk and his brother a silent know-it-all." This got two sets of glares, from Sasuke and Itachi, as his sister sweat dropped at her brothers idiocy. Neji smirked at the remark while Hinata just got more anxious.
"Naruto, I suggest running unless you want to be hung up like a piece of meat." Naruto went to run but Itachi caught him before doing so. He disappeared, along with his prize, and Sasuke went to tug Mitsukaiko away.
"Come on, Angel-chan! We need to go save your brother, no matter how annoying he is." Mitsukaiko sweat dropped.
'But you've only heard him speak once! Jeez…' she thought to herself as she was drug by Sasuke. Neji and Hinata followed, though Neji was mocking Sasuke the whole, who may I add was not enjoying it in the least, time while Hinata and Mitsukaiko talked a bit.
The four young kids soon found themselves in a clearing and sweat dropped as they saw Naruto hanging upside down with Itachi throwing a few blunt kunai at him. Naruto, in futile attempts, tried to dodge but he got hit a few times. As he saw the four new comers, he screamed for help.
"MITSU-CHAAAAAAN!!! DON'T LET YOUR TWIN DOWN!! HELP ME!"
"In order for me to assist you I would have to let you down. But you just declared for me not to let you down." Naruto glowered at his smirking sister.
"YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!" Mitsukaiko simpered.
"Do I, Naruto? Do I really?"
"I HATE IT WHEN YOU DO THAAAAAAT!!!" the smirk stayed on the young girls face as the others watched in amusement, well, Hinata was watching in horror.
"Do what? I am merely averring facts and asking you if I know what you were meaning when you were meaning that I knew what you were meaning." Naruto stopped struggling while everyone, but Mitsukaiko, burst out laughing.
"GAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! HELP ME DOWN FROM HERE IS WHAT I MEANT!!" he shouted and his twin finally relented.
"Good job, Naruto! That's how you properly ask someone if they can get you down from a tree. Who knows, you might need to ask that question again someday?" Mitsukaiko threw a sharp kunai at her brother, whose eyes widened immensely, then yelped as he fell onto his face when he hit the ground.
"You didn't need to throw a sharp object at me! What if it had hit me!?" Naruto complained. Mitsukaiko went to reply when arguing reached their ears once again. Guess who? Yup, it was Sasuke and Neji once again arguing on whose clan was the better clan while Hinata and Itachi stayed on the sidelines, only interrupting to add in their input.
"Jeez, those two really don't along well, do they?" Naruto agreed with his sister; the two were just watching the verbal fight when suddenly Itachi cut in.
"Well, look at the time. Sasuke, Mitsukaiko, mom will have dinner ready for us soon so we better get going." Mitsukaiko sighed mournfully and looked at her twin.
"Well, this is good-bye. I'll see you at the festival, nii-san?" the redhead asked and her twin nodded.
"Believe it, sis!" Neji snorted, as Sasuke, Itachi, and Mitsukaiko all started to leave.
"Good riddance." Was all he said and Naruto rolled his eyes while Hinata blushed.
"Come on, we still have shopping to get done!"

The Festival of Beginnings; it celebrated the birth of Konoha and all it stood for. It celebrated the day the Shodaime Hokage created the forest around Konoha, and built all the homes inside the village out of wood. It celebrated the beginning of the new year, and end of the old. And most importantly of all, it celebrated the day everyone came together as one entire family. It began on December 25, and ended on December 30.
At the Hyuuga mansion, our favorite mismatched trio was getting ready for the festival. Hinata was in her room, a branch member brushing her hair thoroughly, making it soft and shiny. She was wearing a light purple kimono, with a darker purple obi tied around her waist. Dancing on her kimono were violet butterflies, and whenever she moved, the butterflies danced, making sure to catch everyone's attention.
"Hinata-chan, you are truly a sight to behold." Sighed the branch member and the said girl blushed with embarrassment.
"N-no, I'm no-not, Ai-chan. T-there are far m-more girls prettier than I." the soft-spoken girl almost whispered and Ai sighed, putting the brush down.
"Hinata-chan, I really wish you'd stop doubting yourself. All those girls at the Academy are nothing. They prize looks above all else and can be down right cruel. You, though, you hold an inner peace, and inner beauty that makes you far worthier than any other girl in this village. I have seen none other who would give up their spot for a branch member if they are late; I have seen no one give their food to a hungry beggar on the streets; and I certainly haven't seen anyone who is as soft spoken and light hearted as you." Hinata blushed and Ai hugged the other girl. "Hinata-chan, this will be the last time I serve you or anyone else at this household. I will be moving out to live with my boyfriend. This curse seal will be removed, by order of Hiashi, and I will be free to live my own life. That is why I requested serving you tonight. I wanted to give you this." The young woman held out a wrapped gift, shaped in the form of a rectangle.
"Ai-chan, are you really leaving?" the young girls had widened, and tears threatened to spill as she stared at the young woman from the mirror in front of her. Turning around, she hesitatingly grabbed the gift. "I can not possibly…" Ai smiled, her own tears threatening to spill.
"No, take the gift, and do not open it until you feel the time is right. My mother passed it down to me, and it has brought me much luck through the years."
"If your mother gave it to you, I really can't ac-"
"Take it." Forcing the gift towards Hinata, the young girl had no choice but to take it. Ai went to walk out the door, but as she opened the door, she paused. Without looking at Hinata, she added, "And Hinata, your voice is so pretty when you don't stutter…good-bye, my cousin." With that, she walked out the door, tears now creeping down her pale cheeks.
Pausing for a moment, Hinata got up and raced towards the door. "Will I ever see you again? Or even speak to you? Ai!" not even stopping, the other woman replied;
"Who knows? Only the future can tell." She turned a corner and Hinata finally let tears fall. Ai had always been her friend, her voice of reason, the person to reassure her, her sister, and most importantly, someone who didn't look down on her. She was motherly towards the young girl, and a mother was what Hinata missed the most, ever since her own had died not too long ago. The older woman always told her secrets, and stuck up for her. What will Hinata do without her?
Whistling, Naruto turned around the same corner and wearing his own Kimono. His was an orange, not blinding bright though, with other warm colors weaving around. The haori over that was a light yellow, and the hakama was a deep red. He had on wooden sandals and was smiling while waving cheerful at passing Hyuugas. He noticed Hinata standing in her bedroom doorway and walked to her. As he got nearer, he caught sight of the tears rolling down her cheeks.
Eyes widening, he asked, "Hinata-chan, what's wrong! Your eyes will become red if you keep crying and ruin your pretty face." Hinata kept crying, not taking notice of the complimenting insult that he unknowingly gave her.
"Ai-chan is leaving today. It will be the last time I see her…" the young girl hiccupped and continued. "S-she was my friend, but she left to go live with her boyfriend. I don't know what I'm going to d-do without her!" for a while, Naruto didn't reply. Then he said slowly;
"You know, you should be happy, not sad." Hinata paused in her crying. "From what I hear, when a branch Hyuuga leaves this household, their seal gets removed and they are free. Not only will she be free, but she'll be happy because she has someone who loves her in her life; a boyfriend who can take care of her and will help her through times of darkness." He paused, taking a breath. "And though Konoha is a big village, there is no doubt that you two will see each other again. Best friends always do. Anyway, this is what today is for: A new beginning. Ai is beginning her new life, free and happy. What more could you want for her? Though she had you, she was miserable here, not able to do what she wants and having to serve others. I think you were the only one she actually liked to serve." He moved towards her and wrapped his arms around her. "Don't cry, Hinata-chan, your more pretty when you smile and laugh."
"N-Naruto-k-kun…" Hinata was having a hard time not to faint then and there. She took a deep breath and pushed the blush away. "Thank you, Naruto-kun." The said boy nodded and moved away.
"No prob, now let's go drag your jerk of a cousin away from his brooding and get to that festival!" grabbing her hand, they both ran towards Neji room, who as much reluctant to leave.
"Will you let go, Naruto! Hinata! LET GO OF MY WRISTS!!" Naruto snickered and kept his hold.
"No way, pretty boy. You're coming with us!" Neji growled but made no move to escape. He would get Naruto back later, especially for that pretty boy comment. However, it didn't help his cause when he did, in fact, look a little feminine. He was wearing a plain green kimono, the haori a light brown, and the hakama was a darker green. However, the entire outfit hugged his frame, plus with his long hair, Naruto was bound to insult his femininity.
"Naruto, I swear I will kill you in your sleep one of these days." Neji growled darkly, however the blonde boy laughed.
"Where's your Christmas spirit, Neji-chan?" the said boy shouted insults at Naruto, who laughed them off. "Like I said, where's your Christmas spirit!"
"Bah humbug…" the brown haired boy muttered, however the two pulling him heard his statement. Turning to Hinata, yet still dragging Neji, Naruto told her;
"Jeez, looks like we got another Scrooge on our hands. Do we need to turn into ghosts and make him feel the Christmas joy?" Hinata giggled. Instead of replying, she focused on the task of dragging Neji to the festival. Naruto followed suit, and soon Neji was able to walk by himself, swearing he wouldn't run away. After the two in front let go of the feminine boys hands, all three walked to the festival together.

"Sasuke-kun, let's go play that game!" shouted Mitsukaiko, who was joyous at finally being able to come to the fair and not be shoved away. As long as she was with the Uchihas, no one dared harm her. She guessed the same went with her brother, since the Hyuugas were also respected. Sasuke sighed, and his family all smirked.
"All right, angel-chan, don't fly away just yet!" Sasuke complained and Mikoto giggled at the expression. She was dressed in a slimming red kimono that showed off her figure, her obi was a white, and she was wearing a Mrs. Claus hat, while Fugaku wore a santa hat. Her hair was down, and the only make up she wore was red lipstick.
"Sasuke-kun, Mitsu-chan is getting impatient. You might wanna catch up to her." The woman said to her son, who blushed lightly and heeded her advice. The young boy was wearing a dark blue kimono, over that a white haori and patterned blue hakama. He ran over to a booth, where Mitsukaiko was waiting, grinning like there was no tomorrow.
"About time, Sasuke-kun. You're so slow!" the young girl was wearing a light pink kimono, with falling red rose petals etched on for a simple, yet graceful design. Her obi was a red color, matching her hair, which was curled and twisted into a complicated design. Even now, Mitsukaiko didn't know how Mikoto had been able to style it with her short hair. Also, the older woman had put a light pink gloss on her lips, and put light pink eye shadow, bringing out her emerald eyes. Usually, green and pink didn't match, but on Mitsukaiko, it did somehow. When he had first seen her in her attire, Sasuke had started blushing, and had looked away from meeting the other child's eyes.
"Awww, they would make such a cute couple, if only Sasuke stopped trying to resisting her charm!" Mikoto spoke, more to herself but the other two males heard, and sweat dropped.
"Mother, I think they are good friends and that is all." Itachi spoke on behalf of his brother. He was wearing a black kimono, with a dark blue haori and hakama. White dragons were etched onto his outfit and he had put his hair back into a rat's tail. His father was wearing a similar kimono, but there were no white dragons, instead the Uchiha symbol etched onto the back of the haori.
"Now, son. Don't question your mother, she's only doing what she thinks is best." Scolded Fugaku and Itachi rolled his eyes.
"I'm going to go meet up with a few friends. Don't wait up for me at when the dancing begins." With that, Itachi walked off, and soon the two adults couldn't see their teen son anymore as he blended into the crowd.
"I swear he get's more bitchy everyday." Mikoto laughed at her husbands statement and he wrapped his arms around her waist and they just watched their other son and friend play at the batting cages.

"NOW, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, GRAB YOUR PARTNERS AND HEAD TO THE MIDDLE RANGE, IT'S TIME FOR THE DANCING TO BEGIN! THERE'S NO CHALLENGE TO THIS GAME, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MOVE YOUR FEET TO THE BEAT. OK, WE'RE GONNA KICK IT OFF WITH SOMETHING FAST AND BEAT, SOMETHING YOU FRIENDS CAN DO TO COMPETE ON WHO THE BETTER DANCER, YES SIR NO SIR, YOU CAN BETTER!" with that, the music began and a lot of people started dancing to the beat.
During all of the dancing, Mitsukaiko caught sight of her twin dancing with a blushing Hinata, who was struggling to keep up with her hyper friend. Neji was standing to the side, not even trying. The redhead grinned and grabbed Sasuke's hand.
"Come on, Sasuke! Let's go join 'em!" Naruto opened his eyes and saw the familiar sight of a scowling Sasuke and grinning Mitsukaiko.
"hey, sis, what's up?" he asked, still dancing, but less jumping and moving.
"Nothing much, Sasuke-kun and I won a bunch of games." At her friends glare, she grinned sheepishly. "Ok, Sasuke-kun won all the games. I just kept all the prizes." Naruto laughed and wrapped his arm around Sasuke.
"Just to let you know, despite that I act younger, I'M the older twin and if you hurt her…" he let the threat drop off, still grinning that crazy grin of his. Sasuke rolled his eyes while Mitsukaiko punched her brother on the head.
"NARUTO!! IT'S NOTHING LIKE THAT!! STOP EMBARRASSING ME!" Naruto rubbed his head and found a slowly growing bump.
"Jeez, you didn't have to hit me that hard. I'm just doing my job!" Mitsukaiko 'hmphed' and turned her back on her brother.
"Whatever…Sasuke, wanna dance?" the redhead's eyes twinkled and Sasuke blushed. Neji smirked at the sight.
"Awww, Sasu-chan has a crush! Let's see how this plays out ladies and gentlemen!" Sasuke stuck his tongue out at the Hyuuga boy and went with Mitsukaiko to dance. Naruto had grabbed Hinata's hand and dragged her someplace else to dance, leaving Neji all alone. "Ch, whatever…" suddenly, someone bumped into his and he saw TenTen, a girl from his Academy class, and a girl he had a crush on, turn around and glare at him. However, as soon as she saw who she was glowering at, she stopped and started blushing.
"Oh, Neji-kun! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." She went to walk away, but Neji grabbed her hand.
"Wait, TenTen. Wanna dance? It doesn't seem you have a dancing partner." TenTen blushed and agreed to Neji's request. Suddenly the song turned to a slow song. The two blushed, but still danced, Neji grabbing the girls waist, and the said bun-headed girl wrapped her arms around her shoulders.
With Sasuke and Mitsukaiko, they too, danced together, both staring into each other's eyes.
Naruto and the ever blushing Hinata danced as if there was no tomorrow, and both felt a strange feeling creep into their hearts and overwhelm their soul. While they were too young to know it now, but the two were falling in love. As the couples danced, a rare phenomena happened, shocking a lot of people.
Konoha was experiencing its first snow in over fifty years. The white powder sprinkled lightly over the ground, and though the air around the was warm and clear, the snow kept falling. To many, it was a symbol of fortune. However, one in particular knew this was not a good thing at all, and as he lit his pipe, Sarutobi looked at the snowfall, weary, tired, and worried.
Behind the scenes:
"CUT! THIS IS NOT SNOW!! IT'S ALSO NOT THE STUFF WE ASKED FOR!!! JESSICA!!" the director shouted as yellow foam rained from the ceiling, where Jessica was sitting, throwing the stuff into the scene. She stopped and shrugged.
"What? They ran out of the white stuff, "at this all perverts started cracking up at, including Jessica. "I'm sorry that came out wrong, but they ran out of the white foam and sent us yellow." At Sam's look of disbelief she stuck her tongue out. "WHAT! There's yellow snow!" she said indignantly and Sam sighed. From his spot, Naruto snickered and added;
"Yeah, just don't eat it though!" Jessica cracked up and almost fell off.
"It's the eleventh commandment! And Naruto!" said the blonde in a singsong voice. At his look of questioning she pointed above him. "You and Hinata have to kiss! It's tradition!" Naruto and Hinata both looked up in shock.
"!" the blonde haired boy screamed and Hinata fainted from the idea of kissing her object of admiration. Soon after, Naruto followed suit. Jessica sighed as everyone glared at her.
"What?! Come on, you know as much as I that those two are soooo getting together!" she yelled in defense. Sam's eyebrows ticked and his vein pulsed.
"Yeah, but THEY, "pointing to readers, "Don't know that. Well, didn't, at least. Not to mention NOW we have to wait for them to wake up to continue!" Jessica 'ohed' and sighed.
"Oh…yeah…" suddenly, she lost her balance and tipped over. "AHHHHHHH!" CRASH!!!!! "Owwwwww! Someone call the ambulance, I think I broke my leg…" Sam just dragged her to a nearby closet, ignoring her moans, stuffed her in there and locked the door.
"Now, get those two up so we can we shoot. And will someone please get some WHITE foam, or stuffing?"
Jessica: You locked me in a closet????!!!! By the way….HAPPY CHRISTMAS, ER…MERRY HOLIDAYS!!! I tried to get this chapter out today, but I got stuck…on facebook…-rubs head sheepishly- Hehehe, yeah….oops…
Axel: -scoffs- Of course YOU would.
Jessica: -gives raspberry- My hand hurts from writing…Not to mention my cat scratched the living hell out of it…
