This is something I wrote quite a while ago. And I sort of forgot about it. And then I found it.
And realized I loved it. :D

Plot Holes
"Kyaaa! He's dead!"
The all-too-familiar scream echoed through the park. Ran looked up from wiping Conan's mouth – they had finished eating, and she had just noticed that he looked a little red – maybe fever? – when the yells cut through her thoughts.
"Conan-kun, let's go get Dad—" She turned back to her young charge only to discover him missing. Where had—? Of course, he had probably left for the murder scene.
Ran dashed to the growing crowd and pushed her way through. "Conan-kun?"
Conan was crouched next to a mangled corpse. No matter how many times he did this, it still unnerved her. This time, however, he didn't examine the body for long. He stood up and instead scanned the crowd, reaching up and adjusting something on his glasses. His eyes caught on something, and he made a beeline for a man at the edge of the crowd.
"Hey, 'Nii-san, can I see your hat?"
The man clammed up immediately, fear written all over his face. He stammered out, "No! I mean, it's rude to go up to strangers like that, little boy."
"But there's something in your hair!" Conan pointed out innocently.
"What—?" A hand flew up to the hat.
Conan, quite uncharacteristically, tackled the man's shins, sending him to the ground.
"Conan-kun! What are you doing, you can't—" Ran broke off in horror. The man's hat had flown off, and so had what was under the hat – a bloody knife. "H- how?"
Conan was already back on his feet. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to knock him over, Ran-neechan!" His eyes widened in mock surprise. "Nii-san, was that under your hat?"
The man gaped, working his jaw up and down soundlessly.
"Conan-kun," Ran asked dangerously. "How did you know it was him?"
Conan stepped back under her glare. "Ah, it was just something Agasa made for me. It's built into my glasses. It shows who's the Shadow."
"The Shadow?"
"The Shadow Suspect, Mr. Shadow Man? He's the one that gets shown whenever the animators cut to how the murder was done, but they don't want to give away the murderer yet."
"Eh? So the suspect just turns into Mr. Shadow Man?" Ran asked incredulously. "How does a pair of glasses even do that?"
Conan shrugged. "Hell if I know. Half of my gadgets are already Deus Ex Machinas, anyway."
The police arrested the man, who was still too scared out of his wits to put up much of a fight. Ran blinked.
"Megure-keibu, how did you get here so quickly?"
"Ah, Ran-kun! What was that?"
"How did you get here so fast? The murder just happened."
Megure blinked back at her. "Oh, that. We just took a plot hole."
