This is just an author's note, but please read this anyway!
This is hard to explain, and I encourage you to read the UPDATES section on my profile if you don't understand what I am saying here.
Basically, I've done some more reading and watching of different adaptations of the Phantom, and I find that my view on Erik has changed as well. My "take" on his character, let's say. When reviewing my portrayal of him in Little Vipers I was faintly embarrassed of how I'd done it.
So when it comes to the sequel, I was trying to find a way I could make the necessary change in character for Erik based on what I've previously written. And I find that a seamless transition can't be reached.
Trust me, I would not abandon Pandora, No More unless I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO. But, trust me; I have to.
BUT THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE IDEAS I HAD FOR IT. I've decided to write a totally separate phic under the name Penny Dreadful Dreams (the name change is so people don't confuse it with Charlotte's story).
This new phic will be the same Erik/OC pairing you guys read my story for, but with a new girl. Her name is Molly McLoughlin and I find that I actually enjoy her character much more than I did Charlotte's (not that she was a bad character or anything).
It will still be the story of Erik traveling to the Century Opera House to carry on being the Phantom, but it will be as if Charlotte never existed. The story of his reign in the Opera Populaire/ Opera Garnier will be the same as it is in the movies/ books, as was his obsession with Christine. But now, in London, he'll meet Molly.
Also, I should add that Erik's character is now going to be much more Leroux/ Kay-like. Much more sarcastic and unbalanced, but still the amazing guy you all adore. Plus, he'll have a much more Leroux-faithful deformity. You know, aesthetic things like that.
I'm going to leave this up, so hopefully all my readers find it and transition to Penny Dreadful Dreams.
Again, I'm SOOOO sorry if this upsets those of you who liked Charlotte's story, but (as I'm sure you writers know) it's hard to keep writing a character that feels wrong to you. Everyone grows, and I've found that I've simply outgrown Pandora, No More.
However, if anyone would like to continue Charlotte's story under their account, please feel free to contact me. I would love to read someone else's take on their relationship!
Keep looking for Penny Dreadful Dreams (I think 1-2 weeks is sufficient), and read my profile often for updates!
Thanks everyone, you guys are the best. Lots of love to you all, and I hope to see you continue to read Penny Dreadful Dreams!
