Alice was never happy. She had no reason to be. She lived in dreary Vancouver Canada, her sister hated her guts, her parents didn't care, and she was alone. But will a unexpected trip to a dangerous land filled with gangsters, death, drugs, alcohol, and sex change her out look on life? Who will steal her heart? Will she even survive?

The Prologue of Alice Burton

"Al...Al...Hey Alice!"

"Huh? What?" she snapped out of her thoughts as she turned her attention back to the young blonde woman in front of her.

She raised her head out of her palm to fully look at the blonde."Alice we're you listening to me?" she nodded. "Of course Ash." "Alright then what did i just say?"

(Crap...) Alice sighed in defeat as she sunk her gaze down to her black and white converse.

"You so weren't paying me attention. Is this boring you Alice?" the blonde woman demanded bitterly. (You have no idea.)

"No I was just...thinking." "Well try to focus more on me today okay. Jeez you can't even stop being self-centered, shopping for MY wedding dress." the blonde scoffed as she swayed herself, in the flowing white dress, back into the changing booth.

Alice sighed."You're right. I'm sorry Ashley." Alice apologized in a monotone once again resting her head in her palm. (Why anyone would want to marry that frigid bitch is beyond me.)

Alice's older sister always had it all. She had all the talent, she was the prettiest, she was the tallest, hell she even had a perfect smile. Perfect, perfect, perfect. She was just all around perfect.

Alice had always been the...dreamer of the family. Instead of going to frat parties and taking up cheer leading like her sister, she would take her camera or sketch pad and hike through the Canadian woodlands and mountains in her spare time.

At home she was always quiet even at school, so Alice couldn't for the life of her figure out why Ashley hated her so much.

Her sister would hesitate or think twice about ridiculing her at every waking moment of her life. At school Alice became the freak, she had no friends, her parents never cared, and no one guy ever approached her,not in or out of school.

Everyone treated Alice like she wasn't there. And all of this was Ashley's fault, she just had to be so god damn perfect!

Alice laid down on the small bench in the dress shop and completely stretched out along it as she continued to stare out if the plexi glass window and began twirling a lock of her ink black hair around her ringed pointer finger, she was the only one in her family with the odd hair color, and sighed.

(I will never be as perfect as her.)
