Chapter 42

~ Journey Into Darkness ~

"Very good Elsa." Anna whispered Quietly in her ear. "You did it we're just fine." The Princess smiled and looked out to the ship the water around it completely frozen in ice, and the large vessel unable to move. The few members left aboard their ship ran around. Elsa closed her eyes again breathing deeply. She opened her mouth too speak but was interrupted mid thought.

"We must move quickly, chances are those left on the ship will set course on foot once they've realized what happened." The captain stated in a slightly worried tone he shifted his gaze from Elsa to Anna. "We are going to set course for the nearest Kingdom and seek refuge there. Make sure you have everything ready in case the need to abandon ship arises."

The Queen turned around to face him and opened her eyes. "What about them?" Elsa asked slightly nervous playing with her hands.

"They won't be going anywhere, the ship is frozen. Eventually the Ice would melt and

they'll be able to leave once more or they'd run out of food and be forced to explore other options." the captain assured he nodded at her with a small smile. "I think you've had enough stress for today Elsa, go get some rest. I've got it from here."

"FROZEN! What do you mean the ship was frozen!" Hans slammed his fists onto the desk. Below them a map of Arendelle and neighboring Kingdoms. "Where exactly are they headed? Where did the scouts last see them?" he questioned beginning to slowly lose patience.

"The waters near Elsinore. It is expected they are going to stop there before continuing their journey. We've been trying to get a hold of our contacts in Elsinore but so far no luck, they've been allied with Arendelle for years, of course they will be willing to aid Queen Elsa and her sister should they come knocking upon the castle doors. We must get to the Queen before shes able to set foot on the grounds."

"Very well, have a ship of ten men sent out to follow behind the scouts in Elsinore. Make sure Elsa is brought to me, Execute Princess Anna on site, as with the rest of them. Do with them as you will; none are of any importance."

Anna brought Elsa below the deck into her bed chambers. "Elsa, we're going to figure this out. I promise; just look at how far we've come. We escaped Hans in Arendelle. We're headed to see the Royals in Everness after stopping in Elsinore."

"Elsinore? We've been allied for years. They were at my coronation, I haven't spoken to them since. What makes you think they'll be so willing to help us? It was our parents who made the alliance. Not me."

Anna smiled. "You're a wonderful Queen, Elsa. That's why you have so many allies." she paused for a minute smiling. "And thats why you'll keep them." Hans will never have that, we're going to gain Arendelle back. None of our allied kingdoms should want someone so corrupted ruling near them." The Princess put a hand on her sisters shoulder. "Get some rest Elsa."

"The nightmares, they'll come back. I'd rather not sleep and be afraid that the false images are true. While there's a war going on outside my door."

Anna sighed. "Listen Elsa, we are safe for now. You're safe, your nightmares aren't real. I know they've gotten worse but..." Anna was interrupted by Kristoff slamming the door open. "Kristoff!" Anna said with shock standing up and walking over to him.

"Anna the enemy ships are drawing closer, they've pulled the life boats out and are headed this way. Prepare to evacuate if need be. Try not to worry Elsa too much." Kristoff spoke in a calm tone Anna nodded and returned to Elsa.

"They're coming aren't they?" Elsa questioned. "I couldn't stop them."

"No... No Elsa you tried." Anna said sympathetically. "Let's get ready to go Elsa, it's not safe here anymore."

Elsa walked up to the deck with her sister and saw men in small lifeboats nearing them. "I could do it... I could freeze them." she breathed out turning back to Anna. "I could do it."

"You could hurt them Elsa." Anna responded. "You could hurt them, they probably have families too."

"They'll hurt us Anna! They'll kill us." Elsa countered. Turning to face the water. "I could do it." she whispered softly. "It would all be okay..."

"You're not like that Elsa... You don't hurt people."

"I have Anna, I've killed several people, because you were missing and I was angry. I killed people, froze them... Let them die." Elsa spoke loudly in a strong tone. "I have to protect you, because I have the ability to do so and I can't just sit here and do nothing. If you die, I will never forgive myself."

"Elsa please don't hurt them. They could die..." Anna looked at her sadly. "I know you're scared, I know." The Princess tried to comfort her as their own ship drew father away from the men in boats Elsa began to calm down a little.

"They'll catch up with us again. In Elsinore. They'll catch up to us and if the King and Queen do not allow us a safe place to stay..." Elsa trailed off. Anna grabbed her sisters hands.

"If the King and Queen do not allow us into Elsinore castle. You can use your magic, you can defend us. Elsa, but please we do have the upper hand. We have an advantage, we're going to be just fine."

"But Anna, everyone seems so worried. It's making me incredibly nervous... I just want to make sure you're okay..."

"Elsa." Anna looked at her right in the eyes. "You have, you got us out of Arendelle. You tried to make sure I was okay and I can't ask anything else of you."

The captain of the guard came over to the two girls. "We will be in Elisnore in just under and hour if the weather permits. It looks like there could be a storm ahead, if you don't want to take the chance we could turn around."

"No, pull through it." Elsa demanded walking towards the ships captain. Anna followed behind her. "Queen Elsa, we have our course set for Elsinore, it seems as though we've lost the enemy ships behind us I'm apologize for any worry we may have caused with the emergency evacuation preparations but I just wanted to be prepared in case we must leave."

Elsa nodded. "Can you promise me you can get through the storm if there happens to be one?" She asked. "Our parents died on a ship in the midst of a storm I want to know you can navigate through it."

"It looks like nothing more than a light rain. I assure you that everything will be just fine. Don't worry about anything, please go into your chambers and get some rest. We will be in Elsinore in just under an hour."

"Are you sure..." Elsa asked slightly doubtful.

"Positive your majesty, please go get some rest"

Anna went up to the captain of the ship. "You worried my sister for no reason. You said we need to be prepared to evacuate and be cautious of the storm. Elsa is freaking out! I can see her trembling she's so near tears I'm afraid she's going to have a breakdown! Elsa can't stop her nightmares she's terrified and you worry her with all this for nothing!" Anna spoke outraged.

"Princess Anna please, I apologize for your sister's condition but we are obligated to inform you of any dangers."

"Next time inform me. I'll tell Elsa she's too fragile, she's going to break if we're not careful Prince Hans terrorized her, and she is suffering now."

"Very well Princess." The captain responded. "I shall respect your wishes, now go find your sister. We shouldn't be too far from Elsinore."
