Chapter 43
~ Traumatized and Helpless ~
Anna and Elsa had made it into Elsinore without any problems. But it seemed that the Queens nightmares only got worse as time progressed.
"She's traumatized Anna. Even if it was safe there is no way we can bring her back to Arendelle yet." Kristoff looked at her sternly. "There's scouts and soldiers from the southern isles here, some are blending in and others have been
caught I'm sure more will come eventually and we know they'll try and get to Elsa."
"Kristoff as soon as we get rid of Hans Elsa will have a chance to rest easy."
Hans moved towards Elsa she was sitting in the corner of the prison cells in Arendelle. He knelt down and forced her to look into his eyes. "You broke the rules Elsa. All of Arendelle knows you're alive." he paused ."You were supposed to keep quiet." he hissed digging his nails into her chin.
"I did what I had to do to try and reclaim Arendelle."
Hand smirked. "It did not work out do good for you now did it? Your sister is dead and you're down here in chains and shackles. You're my prisoner." Hans laughed. "Since you're sister is dead I have no choice but to come up with more creative means of punishment. Until then, you can stay down here and think about what you've done."
"You've taken Anna from me isn't that punishment enough? She was my best friend, my sister and now
I have nobody." Elsa looked away sadly tears staining her cheeks
"You have me." Hans smiled grabbing her arm her forced her to stand. Pushing her harshly into the wall. "You'll always have me." he breathed inches away from her face. He had hands on both her wrists in attempt to keep her pressed against the wall. He pressed his lips against hers kissing her deeply until she bit down on his lip hard.
Hans pulled away and hit her with such forced she fell to the ground and let out a shriek of pain. "Elsa!" he hissed. "I though you had leaned to behave for me!"
Elsa was curled up on the floor sobbing and crying. He pinned her to the ground and forced her to look at him. "You need to learn how to behave yourself. Or I'll make your life a living Hell, killing you would be merciful, and that is something you do not deserve."
A bloodcurdling scream sounded from down the hall. Anna rushed into her sisters room. Elsa was sitting up breathing heavily with a look of terror plastered on her face. "Elsa you're safe. We're here in Elsinore, you're safe nobody's going to hurt you."
"Hans!" Elsa spoke breathlessly "If we go back he'll kill you. He is going to hurt me. Anna we can't go back to Arendelle he's going to hurt me." Elsa stammered almost crying. Anna helped her lie back down. "Shhh shhh Elsa." Anna sat on her sister's bed and ran her hand through her sisters hair. "He's not going to hurt anyone Elsa. You are safe here, we are just fine." The Princess smiled. "I am not going to die, you're not going to be hurt. Everything is going to be fine Elsa I promise. Now I know you're scared but please close your eyes and get some rest I'll be here the whole time. I won't leave your side." Anna sat with her until she fell asleep again. Then got up and walked over to Kristoff.
"She's getting worse Anna." Kristoff Stated. "She's getting worse so quickly. We have to find a way to stop these nightmares."
"We have tried everything, from having someone stay with her to sleeping draughts and herbal tea." Anna paused feeling defeated. "You know how hard it is to hear her scream like that? Hear how terrified she is, and to know there's nothing I can do to help stop her nightmares? Kristoff Elsa isn't going to get better until she knows Hans isn't a threat anymore."
"You just heard her Anna. She won't go near Arendelle she's traumatized there just isn't a good way to get around the fact that we will be returning to Arendelle at some point. We have to go to Everness at some point Anna and we can't leave Elsa alone, she needs you."
Anna sat down crying softly. "She's not going to get better. She might never get better. We have to go back to Arendelle at some point, I know you're right. We cannot stay in Elsinore forever and they do not even have a large enough army to help us so I know that we have to go soon. Everness has a large army and they'll be able to help us. Maybe once we get rid of Hans we can finally get Elsa some peace."
"It's still dangerous out there Anna. Hans' men are still looking for you and Elsa. They won't give up until they've captured you. We have to be so careful when we leave Elsinore." Kristoff warned looking at Anna with a concerned face. "I just, I love you Anna and if you die out there; I'm
Not sure what I'd do."
The Princess smiled. "I love you too, I love you so much, and there are plans to help us get out of here already in place." Kristoff leaned in and pulled her close holding her tightly for a long time.
"Now go see your sister." Kristoff whispered softly pulling away from
Anna. "She needs you, and it gives me the chance to go check on plans." Kristoff left the room and closed the doors quietly. The Princess walked to Elsa's bed and got in taking her sister into her arms holding her close.
"It's okay Elsa, everything is okay. You're safe and I'm safe. Nobody is going to be hurt and I'm right here if you need me okay?" Anna spoke softly. "Don't be afraid Elsa you and I are going to get through this and you are going to be just fine." The Princess assured her sister. "I love you Elsa..." Anna began crying softly. "You just... You just have to be okay."
The Queen had been locked away in her own castle for weeks. She was sleep deprived and starved. Kicked around and severely injured. The Queen moaned in pain as she woke up with a pounding headache. Even sleeping was so painful she got next
to no rest. Elsa weakly pulled herself up against the wall and tried to sit. But any pressure on her arms caused her to scream loudly in agony.
She whipped her head around as the door unlocked. "Ahhh Elsa, I seem to hear that you're in quite the extensive amount of pain? Why won't you just give up?" Hans asked. "You can sleep and have a little something that will take all that agonizing pain away."
"No." Elsa responded. "No."
The man glared at her and turned to the few guards standing just outside the cell doors. "Torture her." he whispered. "Until she begs for mercy, and I want her sobbing and screaming for it ensure she suffers."
The Prince smiled at Elsa confident she had heard what he said to the men. "Have fun Elsa." he smirked. "It's going to be a long night for you."
Elsa jerked awake. Realizing that it was Anna who was holding her so tightly and that she was asleep. The curtains in the room weren't drawn and the Queen could see it was the middle of the night.
"Elsa." Anna mumbled sleepily. "Elsa is everything okay?" The Princess questioned sitting up after noticing Elsa had pulled away from her. The Queen glanced back towards her sister, eyes red, tears dripping down her face. "I... I... I had another nightmare about him... about being captured and..." Elsa paused for a moment. "and tortured." she looked at Anna right in the eyes as the Princess threw her arms around the Queen once more.
"You're safe here Elsa, nobody is going to hurt you, I promise. Just try and go back to sleep it's really late."
"I'm afraid Anna, I know everyone is trying to help me but sometimes I just lie here and listen to voices and make everyone think I'm sleeping. I manage to stay awake most of the time but I fall asleep on occasion and these... these horrible nightmares." Elsa sobbed. "They are always about him, always and you... You're always dead or gone or he's forcing me to watch as they hurt you as they take you from me... and I can't stop screaming Anna I can't I scream as they rip you away from me and I cry as I watch them harm you... I can't do it anymore I won't do it... It's too hard." Elsa spoke quickly through heaving sobbing as the Princess held her tightly in attempt to calm the distressed Queen.
"You want to see something?" Hans smirked forcing Elsa outside into the courtyard she was blinded by the bright light of the sun. In the middle stood her little sister a terrified plastered on her face. Tears staining her cheeks and her weak form threatening to collapse.
"What did you bring me out here for?" Elsa asked in a whisper. Hans put his hands on her shoulders. He leaned around so she could feel him breathing into her ear. Elsa cringed at the unexpected contact.
"You're going to watch her die."
