Part 1; Arc 1 - Elektra Growing Up - Ch 1 - Pride of Olympus

Dionysus closely examined his temple. He needed to make sure Annie-belle didn't mess anything up when rebuilding Olympus. He moved on to his statues.

"Aha!" Dionysus exclaimed. "That spawn of Athena got my nose wrong! Unacceptable!"

He muttered to himself about the wrong proportions of his statues while he walked up the path to the throne room, looking to complain to the wisdom goddess herself. He heard the nine muses softly singing, and the naiads giggled at him from afar. He waved them off and continued to stroll on the path. As he neared, he heard muffled voices coming from the inside of the throne room. As he approached the doors, he admired the newly constructed marbled doors, faintly etched with the symbols of the twelve Olympians. He pushed open the doors, expecting to see Athena resting on her throne. Instead, to his disappointment, he found the king and queen of the gods in a heated argument.

"Of course not! Who do you think I am?" exclaimed the queen.

"Hera, please. What are we to do?" the king tried to reason, but failed nonetheless.

Dionysus peered further inside, feeling bored, but still he kept hidden. His eyes darted around the throne room for any sign of Athena, but all the thrones were empty. The only sight to see was the quarrel between the king and queen. Dionysus sighed in irritation.

"Zeus! Do you realize what you are asking me to do? This is our child we are talking about!"

Dionysus' ears perked up at the word 'child.' He noticed a small, pink crib lying besides the two.

Zeus groaned in frustration, and paced back and forth, his loafers echoing on the marble floor.

"What are we to do, Hera? We both have our duties; we can't take care of a godling, a child at that!"

Hera simmered down, and heard truth in her husband's words.

"What are you suggesting? That someone else take care of the child?

Zeus nodded. "We can mask her godliness until the time is right. But who shall we select for the upbringing of our child? Certainly not Apollo, we cannot trust him. Artemis has to lead the hunters."

The child was a girl? Dionysus silently scoffed. Which loser was going to take care of her? He continued to eavesdrop, turning his attention to Hera.

"And Hephaestus can't take care of a child if his life depended on it."

Zeus chuckled. "True, my dear. Hermes is far too occupied to take care of a child. Demeter? I don't know if she would. Besides, we do not want another Persephone on our hands. How about Aphrodite?"

Hera shook her head. "I fear she would talk about how the child appeared in the first place, such as her parents. And we would never hear the end of it if we gave the child to Poseidon and Hades. Ares has his own responsibilities as well; he couldn't either. Hestia?"

Dionysus rocked back and forth on his heels. He desperately wanted to leave, but this conversation was far too important.

Zeus scratched his beard. "Maybe so. I was thinking Hebe, but she would figure out soon enough that she was ours. Actually, I think I've found the perfect guardian. And even more convenient, he's here. Dionysus!"

Dionysus sheepishly stepped out of the shadows, while Zeus smiled knowingly at him.

"Dionysus? Why him? He can't even remember the names of the demigods at Camp Half Blood, let alone take care of a child!" Hera said, doubting her husband's choice.

"Well, this will prove to be a challenge. And you never know, Dionysus could change."

Dionysus was baffled by the exchange between the king and queen. Him? Take care of a child? The thought was rather ridiculous and he ended up guffawing. Zeus and Hera snapped their heads toward the laughter and their glares ceased the sound. The two continued to bicker, albeit more quietly. Dionysus cleared his throat, and they turned to face him.

"I don't think me taking care of another brat is the best idea...besides, I have my job as camp director at Camp Half Blood. Unless you want me to quit..." Dionysus explained innocently.

Zeus was in deep thought. "Yes, mhm, well there will be none of that. I suppose you can do both jobs. You must raise the child like she is your own. She must never leave your sight, and you must bring her back to Olympus when she turns fourteen, so she can train alongside with her siblings."

Dionysus stood there, taking it all in. He had no choice but to agree, he can't disobey his father.

"Yes father, where is the child?"

"Right here." A baby appeared in Hera's arms as she smiled down at her lovingly.

Dionysus stepped forward and saw the child as well. Her skin was pale as snow and had soft, ebony colored hair. The child squirmed in Hera's arms and opened her eyes. They were a startling, electric blue, that seemed to have lightning striking in them. The three immortals huddled around the baby, radiating power, staring at her beauty until Hera spoke.

"Her name is Elektra. Named after the daughter of Agamemnon. Her name suits her perfectly-the fiery sun. The pride of Olympus, having the stubbornness and passion of her father," Hera said proudly.

Dionysus took the girl in his arms and cradled her against his chest. Zeus nodded approvingly, and Hera stood with a grim look.

"We expect you to take care of her, my son. We are depending on you. She is powerful yet arrogant, and one decision could change everything. Heed our warning." Zeus warned.

They started to walk away, when Dionysus shouted.

"Wait! How? Where do I take her?"

Zeus gave a sly smile and said, "Why, to camp of course."

Hera sputtered at her husband.

"What? I can't have Elektra mixing with those mortals,"

Dionysus hoped that Hera would get him out of this, but of course, he had to be wrong.

Zeus rolled his eyes. "The child will eventually come back, my queen. But for the time being, this should work."

Hera pursed her lips in acceptance. With that, the king and queen vanished.

Dionysus sighed and sunk down on his throne. He could feel the power diminishing in the godling, so she could pass as a half-blood. Elektra gurgled and squealed, and Dionysus couldn't help but smile at the sight. He quickly covered up; gods forbid anyone found him taking care of a child. He would be the mockery of Mount Olympus for eons. Aphrodite was still scorned for that girl found in her temple. He chuckled to himself, and dissolved only to appear in Camp Half-Blood.

But when he looked down, Elektra was no where to be seen…
