Arc 1; Part 1 - Growing up Elektra: Ch 2 - Oh Schist

Dionysus looked around frantically. "Oh, Styx! How could I lose her already?" He was at the amphitheater, but there was no sign of Elektra. The lake across from him sparkled in the afternoon sun, and the faint sound of clashing swords was heard.

Jason walked by. "Hey, Mr. D, what's up? Lose who, by the way?"

"Yes, yes it's in the Big House, run along John," Dionysus said absentmindedly, waving Jason off.

Jason shook his head and muttered to himself, "What's with the wine dude?"

Dionysus rushed through Arts and Crafts, the Arena, the Strawberry Fields. He found nothing but the nymphs lecturing campers on the environment and Travis and Connor pranking the brats - er, newcomers. He shook his head, how could he have lost her in a matter of minutes? He proceeded to the Stables to confront Chiron on this. He saw the old centaur talking with Pepper Mason, but only heard parts of their conversation.

"Yes, how is he doing?" Chiron inquired.

"Quite well, actually. After he had the amnesia serum, Dad seems to be like himself again. Although it does pain me to hide half of my life from him," Pepper replied back, looking down.

Chiron nodded in sympathy.

Dionysus chose then to interrupt. "Hello, Chiron, Pepper, - "

"Piper," Piper corrected, while rolling her eyes. "See you later, Chiron. Mr. D," she said as she walked off to the amphitheater. She dodged a crowd of Hephaestus campers sprinting after a haywire chariot, cursing under her breath.

Chiron nodded to Piper as she left. He turned to Dionysus."What is it, Mr. D?"

"I lost Elektra! I was sitting on Mount Olympus, holding her, and then I came here, right? I looked up for just a second - mind you, one second - and all of a sudden, she disappears.

Chiron scratched his beard. "Hm, yes. Well, who is Elektra?"

Dionysus groaned in frustration. "Didn't Zeus tell you? Her parents are Zeus and Hera, so she's a godling. She's supposed to live with us on Camp Half-Blood until she is 14 and is sent to Mount Olympus in order to train. And I lost her within moments! She just vanished!"

"Huh. Well, I must say, Dionysus, it's a nice to see you care so much for a child, a sibling and an immortal at that," Chiron said, amusement twinkling in his eyes.

Dionysus scoffed. "Yeah, right. I don't care at all for the brat. Not one bit. And how are you not surprised at the fact that Zeus and Hera sired Elektra?"

Chiron shrugged. "Not that surprising. Do we have to keep her here until she is to go to Mount Olympus and disguise her a half-blood? Legacy? Or just human?"

"Let's say half-blood. She is a god, after all. We won't be able to conceal her powers for long. She can just stay in the Big House until her time comes." Dionysus suggested.

"Alright. Now back to the matter at hand. You say she's missing? Chiron questioned.

"Yes!" Dionysus cried, exasperated. The horses whinnied in irritation to his outburst.

"I think you might want to check Cabin 1," Chiron said, suppressing a smile.

Dionysus turned to the direction of the cabins. He peered over the demigods sparring in the arena and stepped out of the stables. He saw a blur of black and pink by the Zeus cabin. He shook his head in disbelief and waved his hand in goodbye to Chiron.

Chiron nodded and trotted to the arena. "No, don't hold the weapons like that! Oh dear."

Dionysus ran to the circle of twenty cabins, passing Zephyros creek and the haywire chariot, narrowly avoiding it. The sun beat down on the camp. "Show-off," he muttered to Apollo.

Dionysus searched desperately for the one-year-old-godling, and found her perched on the roof of Cabin 1. Dionysus gawked at the sight, and set to getting her down.

"Come down, child! I'll catch you!" Dionysus shouted. "Hopefully," he added.

Elektra shrieked and giggled, refusing to get down. She began to climb higher up the roof of the cabin.

Dionysus heaved a sigh. He produced several grape wines to bring her down. Several campers stopped what they were doing and watched, whispering, "Who's that adorable baby? Why is she on a roof?"

Dionysus grumbled in annoyance. The blasted vines finally wrapped themselves around Elektra's waist and brought her down. She picked and chewed at the grapes on her way to the ground. Dionysus got a hold of her and set her down at the foot of entrance to Zeus' cabin. The crowd watching Dionysus and Elektra stared at the two, a few clapping and some talking amongst themselves incoherently.

Dionysus waved them off and turned back to Elektra, only she wasn't there. He went into panic-mode once again. Dionysus scanned the marble columns and steps in attempt to find the godling, but there was no sign of her. By then, the campers had dispersed and went back to their activities. Dionysus proceeded to the inside of the cabin. The cabin was bare, except for a few pictures and belongings. The floors, wall and ceiling were marble as well, and darkness consumed the cabin. The only noticeable thing was Hippie Zeus, his expression regal and his figure looming over the inside of the cabin, casting an eagle-shaped shadow. But what was on the top of Hippie Zeus baffled Dionysus. There sat Elektra, gurgling and playing with the statue's stone beard. As if that wasn't surprising enough, Elektra jumped off Hippie Zeus. His heart racing, Dionysus ran to catch her. But there was no need for that.

Elektra flew through the air, squealing, an ecstatic expression on her face. The winds were cushioning her, and she couldn't have looked happier. She soared around the massive Zeus cabin, and continued squealing in excitement. Dionysus was dumbfounded, but he knew in the back of his mind that this was normal. She was, of course, a child of the lord of the sky.

Dionysus was lost in thought and gazed at the flying child, feeling pleased. He resented children, and that was always made clear, but he couldn't help but admire Elektra. She was just a small, adorable child that needed caring for.

Dionysus glanced up to see Elektra gliding in the air, but she wasn't in the same spot as she was before. His eyes flitted across the cabin, only to see Elektra flying toward the entrance of the cabin, on her way to greet the campers. The campers who would see her flying, a mere baby, whose identity is unknown.

Oh schist.
