Ellie struggled to get free, that being her instinct kicking in due to the net constricting her movements. She would have forgotten about the dogs if they didn't constantly growl, snarl, and try to jump up at her, their tusks just barely grazing her pants. She'd have to lift up her body the best she could each time they tried to nip her, not wanting to lose any skin to those creatures.
She wanted them to go away, to leave her be. She didn't want to die, she was too young for it. How she got picked for this was beyond her. Ellie didn't want to end-up as puppy chow either...
It was then, that a loud, high-pitched whistle sounded, and the Hell Hounds stopped, looking in the direction of the sound before looking up at her, roaring before sprinting off and away. She was safe, for now. They had been called back, but what was to happen to her?
She judged how far away from the ground she was, crystal blue eyes scanning carefully for hints.
She estimated she was about ten feet up in the air, give or take an inch or two.
Ellie had stopped wiggling around, all hope to get freed gone. If she did manage to cut herself loose, there was no way she could fall to the ground and manage to not break a bone or sprain something and she'd much rather not take those chances. She just had to sit and wait for someone to come along and free her from the trap the safest way they could.
Welp, so much for staying alive. She'd been so damn cautious, so sure not to run in to whatever ruled the jungle out there, but it looked like her luck streak came to an end. Here she was, hanging up above the ground, waiting for certain death to come.
She waited ten minutes. Nothing. Not a sound. It was too quiet out there. Wind barely rustled through the trees, their leafs whispering soft melodies as they were caught. She looked to the sky, it was getting darker slowly. She hated how the days and nights slinked by like slugs were dragging the suns and moons on their backs.
Ellie just began to doze off when she heard a twig snap, causing her to become fully awake as she searched for the source of the noise. There was a slight whirring sound, then, three red dots appeared on her chest through the net holes, slowly going up to rest on her forehead.
She felt like she couldn't breathe, her eyes shutting as she waited.
But nothing came.
She opened one of her eyes, looking down, trying to follow where the three red dot lines were coming from. Her eyes caught sight of something, the air seemed distorted, slightly shimmering. Something flashed and a blue ball of light went flying towards the top of the net, causing it to break and fall.
She yelped, colliding with the ground roughly, her body in shock from it all, causing her to not be able to move. She took rapid breaths in, feeling fear well up in her body as the figure became uncloaked as he approached her. She would have screamed, but shock clamped her jaw shut.
He was tall, way taller than her, bulky, and looked extremely intimidating. His mask was of an interesting sort, the two tusks that jutted out from each side of it reminded her of the ones from the Hell Hounds. The strange gun-like weapon mounted on his shoulder also reminded her of a Death Machine, the way it spun around before it shot.
The alien was staring down at her, head cocking back and forth, judging her.
"...If you're going to kill me, do it..." she finally managed to say, regretful as it may have sounded. He let out a strange croaking noise before grabbing the opening of the net, beginning to drag her behind him as if she was just some bag of trash.
She thrashed, kicking her legs even though it wouldn't do any good. "Where are you taking me!? Let me go... Please..." she whimpered, trying to bite back the occasional bark of pain when her body met with a branch or rock that was hidden in the ground. Was he going to kill her, or what? Where was he taking her? She was going to have so many bruises on her pale skin later, it wasn't even going to be funny.
No, no, no, no, this was not right. This wasn't happening. It felt real, yes, but it couldn't be.
It was then that the being suddenly stopped after dragging her for at least thirty minutes. She looked around the best she could, her nose catching a whiff of something her senses found not too pleasant.
Rotting meat. It almost made her want to gag, but she swallowed down the burning liquid that built up in the back of her throat, leaving a bad after-taste in her mouth even when it hadn't reached that point. She hadn't eaten in some time, so, there would be nothing to throw-up but water. It was still disgusting.
He began to drag her a little bit more into the small clearing that looked more like some sort of camp. Which, it probably was, it was hard to tell through the tiny gaps in the netting. Finally, he left her by a large rock that was near the edge of the camp, Hell Hounds resting on top of it, snarling as they looked down at her.
The being squatted down, looking at her closely through the netting before opening it, releasing her from the claustrophobic tightness. The tusks on his mask nearly scrapped against her cheeks as he got a closer look at her, a deep rumble escaping his throat.
He brought up a hand to place on her face, but he whipped around and stood at once when two roars sounded behind him. She didn't see them at first, but that was because they were cloaked. Ellie felt terrified once she saw their masks and that they were just as tall and scary as the other, only with slightly different colour and helmet designs.
One had a strange jaw lining the bottom part of his mask, he looked a bit older than the other two. Maybe he was the leader. The other had a more angular mask, the way it was constructed reminded her of some sort of insect, which one, she wasn't sure.
And one thing was, they most certainly didn't seem happy about her being there, their body language giving it away.
