UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! Well this story is slowly developing...BUT PLEASE BEAR WITH ME, I promise it will get interesting soon! I kinda feel like these chapters are getting shorter and shorter. Oh well, I do apologize again! But enjoy this update!
It has been almost a week into Ruby's slow recovery. According to the doctor they'll be able to let her out soon.
"When is soon…" Ruby thought to herself, as she sat in her hospital bed on her own. Ruby has been feeling down lately. She's been having nightmares about the incident, and not wanting to add on to her teammate's burden with her, she kept them to herself, and each night she loses more sleep.
"Ruby?" said a familiar voice. Ruby had not realized that Blake had entered the room. Blake made her way to the ride side of Ruby's bed and sat there. She looked over her leader's appearance, noticing small dark circles developing under her eyes.
"Oh Blake…uhm didn't see you." Ruby nervously said, as she tried to readjust her position ever so slowly so that her chest did not hurt.
"Have you been getting sleep?" Ruby looked at Blake with widen eyes, which was a dead give-a-way to Blake's question.
Blake let out a deep sigh, "You know I'm right here if you need anyone to talk to. We all are here for you, Ruby."
"I know Blake…" Ruby simply replied. She was contemplating in her head whether or not to tell Blake about her nightmares. Just as Ruby opened her mouth to say something, the door opens and Weiss enters in. Ruby quickly shut her mouth.
"Oh Blake, you're here. Yang was looking for you. Something about catnip or something." Said Weiss as she made her way towards Ruby's bed. Weiss felt something off, but decided to keep her mouth shut.
"Dammit Yang. She shouldn't be saying stuff like thatto other people. " Blake said, her face deep red. She said goodbye to both Weiss and Ruby and made her way towards Yang.
"Hey you." Ruby said, breaking the silence between her and Weiss. Weiss looked at Ruby from head to toe. She shrugged and made her way onto Ruby's bed. She was extra careful as she lightly leaned on the young girl because of her injures. As second nature, Ruby wraps her arms around Weiss, and both of them stayed like that until Weiss propped up to speak.
"Ruby, are you okay?" Ruby looked at Weiss's concerned face and gave her signature smile.
"Of course I am! I'm with the most gorgeous girl in the world!" Weiss gave a sigh.
"Ruby…there are dark circles under your eyes. Have you been getting enough sleep?" Ruby blushed a little.
"I'm fine Weiss, the doctor says I'll be out in no time, and then I can join you guys again."
"That's not what I'm asking you dolt." Weiss said. The worry on her face increased. Ruby thought hard to make up an excuse, but nothing would come up.
"I guess I haven't been sleeping well…"
"Any particular reason?"
"Should I tell her? This is my girlfriend for god sakes."Ruby thought hard to herself.
"Ruby…" Weiss said breaking Ruby's thoughts. Ruby let out a deep sigh.
"I keep dreaming about it…"
"About what?" Weiss held Ruby's hands in hers.
"The incident…Weiss I almost died, and it was amateur mistake to not make sure that Ursa was dead." Tears started to form in Ruby's eyes and Weiss quickly held her close to her, but gentle enough not to hurt her from her wounds.
"How can I call myself a huntress if I keep making these mistakes, that could endanger myself or even worse, you guys." The tears started to flow freely from Ruby's eyes, and Weiss held her even tighter.
"Ruby…" Weiss started, she didn't know what to say to her girlfriend honestly. She too was scared of losing Ruby, but didn't know how to comfort the vulnerable girl in her arms. They stayed like that for a good five minutes and Ruby finally got up to break them apart. She wiped her tears and looked at Weiss. She gave her signature smile.
"How can you still smile like that after you've cried your eyes out?" Weiss questioned her head. To her, Ruby was one of the strongest people she has ever met, and as the years went by she had seen Ruby grown into a mature young lady.
Ruby saw her girlfriend thinking, imaging the little gears in her head spinning. She smiled to herself and came towards Weiss, giving her a full kiss on the lips. Ruby could feel Weiss's smile as she deepen the kiss even further. They separated and looked at each other with loving eyes.
"You dolt." Weiss said, going in for another kiss. Ruby was happy Weiss was with her. If Weiss wasn't there then Ruby wouldn't know what to do with herself. However, the thought of her nightmares still bothered her at the back of her mind.
"Hopefully…they'll stop." Ruby thought to herself.
Next chapter we'll get the thoughts of some other characters *cough* Yang *cough* Blake *cough*. But yeah ^_^ oh feel free to tell my anything! Any reviews or whatever, corrections, all the good stuff. My english isn't that great so if you point out a mistake, then I will get it fix as soon as possible. Thanks a bunch guys!
