"Well you're all set. Contact me if there is anything you need."
"Thanks Doc. Alrighty guys let's go get some cookies!" yelled Ruby excitingly. This led to smiles among her fellow teammates. Yang wrapped her arm around Ruby.
"Take it easy there lil' sis, you just got out." Team RWBY made their way to the nearest bakery.
"Heyoooo! The usual please!" The man behind the counter was happy to see Ruby well. Her frequent visits always made him happy, as the young girl was filled with so much life and energy. He started getting the cookies ready and handed them off to Ruby.
"What's the usual?" asked Blake, eyeing the box in Ruby's hand. Ruby smiled and went to hand some cash to the man, but was stopped by Weiss.
"Weiss?"
"My treat, dunce." Weiss simply said with a smile then handing the man some cash.
"Awhhh, Weissy is being so sweet to our little Rubes." Teased Yang. Blake tried hard to hold in a laugh, while both Weiss's and Ruby's faces turned a slight red. The team left the bakery and made their way to their dorm room.
"Ahh home sweet home." Ruby made her way onto Weiss's bed and started eating the cookies feverously.
"Ruby!," Weiss cried, "Please..not on my bed."
"Sorry Weissy." Ruby said apologetically. Weiss rolled her eyes and made her way next to Ruby and also started eating the cookies.
Ruby made one final gulp, "So guys when are we going on a hunt." Her team members' eyes went wide.
"Ruby you just got out, and the amount of schoolwork you need to catch up on is fairly high." Answered Blake. Ruby's eyes soften a bit.
"Blake's right Rubes, you gotta catch up first then we can go."
"But Yanggggg…"complained Ruby.
Yang shook her head, "Ruby, you know I hate saying this but, no is no. Sorry sis."
Weiss looked at the younger girl's expression. If Ruby was any at all upset, she hid it well with that smile of hers.
"Ah well I guess you're right." Ruby said sheepishly. She looked down at her now empty box of cookies and pouted.
"You're so cute." Weiss said. Ruby's head jerked up fast and looked at Weiss a confused look. Weiss furrowed her eyebrow, then looked at Yang and Blake who were trying to hide their smirks behind their mouths.
"What?" questioned Weiss looking at Ruby.
"Uhm…Weiss, you just called me cute." Replied Ruby, blushing slightly then turning her head away from Weiss.
Weiss's face also turned a slight red, "Wha- well of course…you…you dunce. You're my girlfriend."
"WHOAAA!" yelled Yang, she couldn't help but laughed at what Weiss had said. It wasn't that insulting type of laughter, it was more of a breaking the awkwardness laughter.
"YANG WOULD YOU PLEASE!" yelled Weiss, getting up but hitting her head against Ruby's bottom bunk, "Ow, shit" she said rubbing the crown of her head.
Yang continued on laughing, "Ice Princess is in love!"
"Yang for the love of Vale, this is not new information." Ruby said.
"Yeah, I know. But it's strange that the ice princess shows any emotion let alone voices it out. You're cutie Ruby."
Weiss groaned out of annoyance, and went to their bathroom.
"Hey can you guys like uhm leave?" Blake and Yang looked at their leader curiously.
"Why lil sis? You and Weissy gonna talk" smirked Yang. Ruby's face went blood red.
"Oh my god Yang, just for that we are leaving." Yang tried to protest but Blake dragged her out before Ruby could hear any of it. Just as Blake closed the door behind her, Weiss came out of the bathroom.
"What was all the commotion out here?" Weiss said, Ruby then took Weiss's hand and guided her to Weiss's bed.
"Ruby what are you doing?"
"Shh, Weiss just…stay here with me." Ruby wrapped her arms around Weiss's waist as they both laid in bed. Weiss slowly felt her eyes getting heavier, as she let Ruby's body warm her. She missed Ruby being around, the younger girl, though she gets on her nerves, gave Weiss a new sense of life and love she's never experienced before, even within her own family. She glanced over at Ruby's body, and saw that was fast asleep. Weiss smiled at the scene. Ruby's peaceful sleeping body, her body going up and down steadily, and eyes at rest.
"You dunce." Weiss whispered, she moved slowly so she did not wake the sleeping girl and gave a quick peck on Ruby's forehead.
Yang and Blake made their way to Professor Ozpin's office. He had called them minutes after they left the dorm, and instructed that only Yang and Blake come.
"Professor Ozpin?" Blake knocked on the office door.
"Girls come in. Close the door behind you and have a seat." Professor Ozpin replied. They girls did as they were instructed.
"Is there something wrong Professor?" asked Yang.
"Well Yang, you see I've requested Ruby's medical report to determine when she will be able to join you in hunts and…" he paused shortly. Blake and Yang looked at each other nervously.
"Physically…Ruby will be fine within a few weeks I suppose…however…"
"However?" questioned Yang.
Ozpin let out a deep sigh, "Well Yang it's difficult for me to say but Ruby's mental state is somewhat unstable." Yang and Blake's eyes widen.
"What do mean, sir!?" Blake asked, she held Yang's hand tightly seeing that the girl was trying to keep it together.
"According to the report, Ruby is suffers from mild post traumatic stress disorder, though I'm worried that it may get worse. Also, she has reported to the doctor that she's been having frequent nightmares during her stay at the hospital."
It was a lot for Yang. Her own little Ruby, a bundle of joy, having PTSD, the idea seemed foreign to her. Yang could not speak, but just stare at Ozpin. Blake noticed this and looked at Ozpin to respond.
"She seemed fine to us, sir." Blake said remembering the girl's excitement over getting cookies today.
"She's probably trying to hide the symptoms so that she would not burden you. What I can only suggest is that you all, as a team, is to get her to find help, professionally no less, and support her through this."
Blake nodded, "Thank you sir for letting us know. I think we should be going now." Ozpin nodded and thanked the girls for coming. Yang made it until they were almost to the dorm's door when she suddenly broke down crying. Blake sensed this coming and took Yang to an isolated area to console her partner.
"I am a terrible sister, Blake?" Yang manage to say, she wiped her tears and put her head onto Blake's shoulder.
"No Yang, you're not."
"But I should have known…or at least suspected."
"Well now's not the time, we need to go in there and convince Ruby to get help and then help her get better. Agreed?" Yang looked at Blake's face. Blake smiled, a rare sighting to anyone, and closed the gap between their lips. They made their way towards the dorm again, and were about to open the door when they heard screaming from the other side. Both Yang and Blake got their weapons and busted the door open. When they entered they saw both Weiss and Ruby on the floor. Ruby was in a fetal position, clutching her chest tightly, yelling out in pain. While Weiss was trying to sooth Ruby's pain but nothing seemed to be working. The scene frighten both Yang and Blake.
"I- I don't know what…I…we…" Weiss was still panicking and trying to help Ruby.
"Yang get Ruby to the hospital NOW." commanded Blake. Yang nodded and picked up Ruby, bridal style, then dashed out the window. Blake made her way to the distressed Weiss, and kneeled right beside her. Weiss was breathing in short, uneven breathes.
"Weiss listen to me. You're having a panic attack. Now do what I do. Breathe in and out slowly and deeply." Weiss did as Blake instructed, and she finally calmed down. Blake had never seen the heiress in such stress.
"Okay, tell me what happen." Said Blake, keeping the girl as calm as possible.
"We were sleeping, just sleeping in my bed. It happened so fast. Ruby started to scream and gasp in pain, and then she fell off the bed. I didn't know what to do." Weiss said, tears forming in her eyes. Blake nodded, understanding that the girl didn't want to relive the stressful event that just happened. They both got up and made their way quickly to the hospital.
Couple buildings away, the same dark figure stood, observing the events that have just unfolded. He took out his scroll and started calling someone.
"It has begun." He said, the voice on the other side chuckled.
"Good, keep watching them until I call you back"
"As you wish…Cinder."
"You have done me a great service Roman. Poisoning Ruby when she at the hospital, resulting her in having severe delusions. Ozpin does not suspect us at all."
"I will keep you posted." Roman Torchwick then hung up the phone and made his way towards the hospital.
Welp guess you know what's the haps now with Ruby. I've been learning about disorders in my psychology class, so that's why I named a few specific ones in this chapter. Included a little bit of Bumblebee in this one also, but this mostly a White Rose fic. I hope you enjoyed it and again I apologize for any mistakes. Please let me know if you find any, I will gladly fix it.
