"…YOU'RE GOING HAVE to make a decision soon," Ryuji said as he shifted his position in his tan leather armchair that is placed a few feet away from his office window. His bright, emerald eyes narrowed at his guest who sat right across from him. His guest, who sat in the replica of the armchair, frowned and reached down the coffee table before him and took his glass of water and took a sip.
"I'm not even sure if I even have a choice," Honda admitted after he placed his cup down.
Ryuji gave him a curt nod, "Sure you do," he said, "Everyone does,"
"Hmm," was all Honda could say.
Ryuji sighed, placed his hand on his face and shook his head, "I wonder what was going on through your head," he confessed softly.
Honda managed a dark chuckle, "I wasn't," Honda's eyes peered at Ryuji's face. "Do…"he began, "Do you think I should tell her?"
Ryuji didn't answer, instead he only stared at Honda for a moment and finally said, "Well, I don't see why you should," he admitted, "I mean, this is only between you and Miho, isn't it?"
"But…"Honda's eyes turned to the coffee table, his eyes focused on how the tiny rays of the morning sunlight made the table glow and appear more vibrant. So vibrant, Honda's eyes watered at the mere glance of it. He glanced up at Ryuji, who was now twirling his bang with his finger, a habit he tends to do when he's bored, or worried. In this case, Honda is assuming Ryuji's worried about something.
"You think she may help?" he asked.
Ryuji's eyes, which were focused on his window, turned to Honda. His look hard, he gave a cold laugh, that didn't reach his eyes, "Come on, Honda!" he said, "You know better than I that this is something you should fix on your own. Don't let her in on this." His eyes narrowed and he said coldly, "Don't let her in on this. I won't let you."
Honda nodded, "You're right…"he said, Honda eyes glanced away from Ryuji, "I…won't…"
Ryuji nodded, "Good,"

Anzu's had her arms wrapped around Shizuka as she took several deep breaths to calm herself down.
Anzu began to rub her hand on Shizuka's tiny back; her mind was trying to process everything that Shizuka had just confessed to her. Apparently, just about an hour ago, Mai had stormed out of Shizuka's place because Mai had found out that Shizuka had lied about Jonouchi being at work, when in fact, he had ran away.
Poor Shizuka was left with the horrible task of keeping it a secret. A promise, her brother made her do. Anzu couldn't understand, Jonouchi knows that Shizuka isn't good a lying. Let alone trying to lie to Mai, who she adores and loves.
Jonouchi, you idiot, Anzu thought bitterly, why did you made your sister do this?
"N-now…" Shizuka sniffled, "M-Mai hates me,"
Anzu shook her head, "No, no, no Shizu…." Anzu said softly, "Mai could never hate you." She took a deep breath; she knew she was probably lying through her teeth. In actuality, she had no idea of Mai hates her now. Mai was known to hate liars….but then again, Mai can be a bit understanding when she wants to.
"R-really?" Shizuka straightened herself and looked at Anzu, who hastily look away, "Y-yeah…"
Shizuka gave Anzu a tiny smile. Anzu suddenly got up from the sofa and smiled cheerfully, "Now, why don't I get you something to drink?" Shizuka shook her head, "No, Anzu, it's ok…I'm-" But Anzu wouldn't hear it, "No, it's ok, Shizuka." She assured her friend as she made her way into the kitchen.
As soon as Anzu walked into the kitchen, she checked her phone. Her lower lips quivered as she saw she had received a text. Anzu looked away from her phone and sighed. She knew what she was doing is wrong, but Yugi deserved an explanation. Eventually, he was going to have to know the truth. The whole truth.
Even if it might hurt her.
Shizuka called out from the living room, "An-Anzu? Is everything alright?"
Anzu forced herself to smile, and gave Shizuka a nervous laugh, "Ah, I'm sorry Shizuka…I-I kinda forgot where you had the glasses."
Shizuka giggled, as she slowly got up from her sofa, "It's ok. How about we have tea instead?"
LATERS…
Kaiba placed the tips of his long, slender fingers together as his cold eyes gazed upon the young male before him. The young male was no other than his little brother Mokuba.
Mokuba leaned back in the chair, with one arm hanging on the back rest, "So," he began casually, "Who was that guy who came earlier today?"
Kaiba, who was in deep thought, didn't answer, instead, he only tapped his tips twice, and then he said, "Nothing, just business."
Mokuba raised an eyebrow, he then slid his arm from the back rest of the chair, and leaned forward on the chair, "Seto…" he began.
Kaiba, placed his hands on the surface of his desk, his right hand began to twirl a pen along his fingers. Mokuba's eyes stared upon his brother's action. Mokuba couldn't believe it, his brother was lying. He wasn't used to this, Kaiba only told his thoughts and deepest darkest secrets to him. Mokuba couldn't help but to mentally frown. His brother had changed, call him crazy, but Mokuba had his suspicions that maybe Kaiba is feeling abandoned ever since Mokuba has gotten with Rebecca. And that maybe, just maybe, Kaiba is giving Mokuba the silent treatment just to make him feel bad. Yet that was impossible, there was no way, Kaiba would do that. No, Kaiba was awfully too mature.
So what exactly is the cause of this new Kaiba?
"How are you and Rebecca?" Kaiba asked, as his eyes turned to his computer screen, checking for emails.
Mokuba was feeling scared right now, he's worried about his brother. "Uh," Mokuba was thrown off by his brother's sudden question, "We're good. We-we were thinking about going to the movies tomorrow."
Without taking his eyes off the screen, Kaiba nodded slowly, "Oh," he said, "What movie are you both going to see?"
Mokuba shrugged, "I guess something with sci-fi. Becca and I really like science fiction."
Kaiba gave another slow nod, "That's good."
No matter how much Mokuba wanted to ask, he knew his brother wasn't going to tell him. If anything, his brother will tell him when he thinks its best. He just hopes that whatever his brother is keeping from him isn't harming Kaiba. But what in the world is Kaiba keeping from him?
"Well," Mokuba said as he stretched in his seat, "I guess I'll be getting back to my office." With that, Mokuba slowly got off the chair and headed towards the door.
"Have fun," Kaiba called over. Mokuba nodded, "Yeah," he said a bit uncertainly, "Will do,"
Mokuba left the room.
LATERS…
Mai held her breath as her eyes gazed at the door before her. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She then tentatively raised her fist up at the door and knocked.
A minute later, the door slowly opened, and Shizuka's face appeared behind the door. She wasn't smiling, her eyes were teary and puffy. Mai felt the knot on her throat tighten. She knew Shizuka had been crying.
"Y-Yes?" Shizuka croaked, she was trying hard to even her voice. Mai realized how Shizuka didn't have her door wide open, and how she didn't invite her in.
"I…" Mai began, she hesitated. She had no idea what to say. She wished Yugi was here. Her mind flashback to Yugi….
FLASHBACK
"I don't think Shizuka lied to you on purpose," Yugi said after he handed Mai a cup of strong tea.
Mai glared at Yugi, "She knows I hate liars, Yugi. And plus…plus…" more tears came down her face.
"Come on now, Mai," Yugi said softly, "You know the reason why Shizuka did what she did."
Mai shook her head, her mind for some reason wasn't thinking straight. She blamed the bastard who got her pregnant. But Yugi was right, Shizuka didn't lie on purpose. In fact, she could never lie to anyone. She was only keeping a promise.
"Just forgive her," Yugi said, "Shizuka will forgive you and you can both be friends again."
Mai swallowed and gave Yugi a curt nod, "Y-You're right…you're right…"
END OF FLASHBACK…
"I just wanted to say…" Mai blinked the tears away, "I'm sorry."
Shizuka's eyes widened, but she didn't say anything. Mai continued, "I…I knew deep down you didn't mean to do what you did…"
Shizuka sniffed. A tear ran down her cheek, "I'm…I'm very sorry too. I-I didn't mean…"
Mai interrupted her by shaking her head, "No need to explain. I get it. I shouldn't have reacted that way…"
Shizuka suddenly opened the door wider. With tears streaming down her face, she spread out her arms.
Mai couldn't help but to give her a teary smile. She accepted the hug.
Neither woman noticed a silver Jaguar F-type convertible pull up on the drive way just below Shizuka's floor.
The person driving the vehicle was none other than Seto Kaiba himself. As the windows slowly slid down, to give Kaiba a better view, Kaiba's eyes narrowed.
He then saw Shizuka invite Mai into her apartment. Mai, at first hesitated, but then she accepted by going in. As soon as she went inside, Kaiba rolled out of the drive way, and drove away.
LATERS…
As Shizuka was placing the dishes that she and Mai had used in the sink, Shizuka heard her doorbell ring.
Shizuka placed the last dirty plate on the sink, and turned to look at her door. Her eyebrow raised in curiosity, "Who could that be?" she wondered out loud.
The doorbell rang again, Shizuka quickly washed her hands and ran towards the door. Her eyes widened as she saw Seto Kaiba standing at the doorway.
"M-Mr. Kaiba…" Shizuka stuttered. This was a complete shock for Shizuka, for she never could imagine that her boss would stop by her house, especially at this hour.
Kaiba, on the other hand, didn't seem to notice Shizuka's astonishment; instead, he made his way past her and took a seat on the sofa. The sofa Mai had previously sat.
"What brings you here, Mr. Kaiba?" Shizuka asked.
Kaiba looked up at her, his azure eyes catching her hazel ones, "You know very well, why I'm here." He replied coldly.
