Hey guys! I'M ALIIIIIIIIIIIVVEE! Sorry for taling SUCH A LONG SS time! I've been so busy during the summer but I finally got a little break! Uh, I don't think this chapter is as long as I'd like it to be. But I hope it is enough to satisfy you. Anyways, enjoy the chappie! :D

DIZCLAIMER: No, still no own...

"WELL," ANZU BEGAN, "Mai thinks she may have gotten pregnant of the night of that party at Kaiba's mansion. But none of us can remember what happened that night."

Everyone at the table stared at Shizuka like she is some sort of ghost.

Of course, it all made sense now. They had mentioned to Shizuka that Mai had no idea who the father of the baby is. But they had never mentioned that they all lost their memories because they naturally assumed that Shizuka had lost her memories too at that very night.

They couldn't believe it. All those months searching for answers and all this time it was right under their nose, how could they have been so stupid?

But now, later than ever they can finally know and everyone can finally move on with their lives.

"Oh," was all Shizuka could say, she looked sadly at her hands placed neatly on her lap, "I'm sorry. I don't know anything. All I remember that I was so busy with all the guest that I had no time to sit, not even get at least one sip of punch." She looked sadly at everyone, "I'm sorry," she said, "That's all I know."

Everyone sighed in despair, and glanced at their empty plates.

"I figured as much," Yugi said.

"What do ya mean?" Jonouchi said.

Yugi shrugged, "I dunno, I just thought it was just weird how everyone of us (except for Shizuka of course) doesn't have any clue as to what happened that night."

He glanced at everyone carefully and said in a softer tone, "I haven't told anyone this, but me and Mai had gotten surveillance tapes from Mokuba of that very night. But when we checked it…" he shook his head, "Nothing, the tape showed us nothing."

"So it just got me thinking that how the tapes can be so clean if something clearly happened on that evening. It just doesn't make any sense."

Honda nodded slowly in realization, "Ah, so you're saying Rich Boy may have something to do with this? And maybe he knows something?"

Jonouchi slammed his fist of the table causing everyone to jump, "No!" he said angrily, "Rich Boy does know somethin' and he probably did somethin' to us too!" he looked at everyone, "Face it! He's a creep! He's capable of doin' stuff like this!"

But Shizuka seemed to disagree, "But wait! Guys!" she cried, "Why would Mr. Kaiba do that? He has no reason to hide such information from Mai; she hasn't done anything to him!"

"As much as I may agree with Jonouchi," Anzu began but she sighed, " But I'm going to have to agree with Shizuka on this one. Why would Kaiba hide something from Mai? And why would he make us lose our memory?"

"What have we done to him?" Anzu continued. "Why would he do that?"

"Because he's a jerk!" Honda said crossly.

"Guys," Yugi said, " We shouldn't be quick to blame." He took a deep breath to regain his composure, "We don't really know for sure Kaiba has anything to do with this. All I said is that it's strange how none of us still don't remember anything and how the tape shows us nothing. For all we know, Kaiba could just be as clueless as we are."

"Yug," Jonouchi said softly, "Ask ya' self this. Do ya really believe that? I mean, this is Kaiba we're talkin' about here! We all know exactly what he's capable of!"

Yugi knew that Jonouchi may have a point on this, but for some reason, it just doesn't seem right. It was just like Shizuka said, why would Kaiba do something against Mai? As far as everyone knows, Mai may be spunky sometimes, but she has never crossed paths with Kaiba. In fact, no one has ever seen Kaiba or Mai anywhere near each other, less much interact. So why on earth would Kaiba harm Mai? And also, why would he make Yugi and his friends lose their memory? Kaiba can be called many things but cruel isn't one of them. But, Yugi suspects that maybe Honda is up to something…maybe Kaiba does knowsomething.

"Tomorrow," Yugi said not wanting to hear another word, "Tomorrow, first thing in the morning, we can go to Kaiba's and ask." He turned to Shizuka, "Shizuka, do you think you can squeeze us in?"

Shizuka nodded, "I think I can," she said thoughtfully "Mr. Kaiba doesn't make appointment early in the morning."

"Wait…" Jonouchi began, he looked at his sister in puzzlement, "How does Shizu…?"

At this, everyone turned red, they had almost forgotten that Jonouchi had no idea that Shizuka works for Kaiba.

"Well," Shizuka began nervously, "To start things off, I-I work for Mr. Kaiba."

Jonouchi blinked several times, not believing what he was hearing.

"WH-WHAT?!"

THE NEXT MORNING…

Kaiba clicked a button on his telephone, "What is it?" he said coldly.

"Ah, Mr. Kaiba" it was Shizuka, "Sorry to interrupt but you have someone who would like to speak with you."

Kaiba raised an eyebrow. He glanced at his watch; it was 9:45 am. Who could it be at this hour? He quickly glanced at his schedule on his phone. There were no appointments made, just as he wanted. So who is it? And what do they want?

Kaiba pressed the button again, "Send him in," Kaiba said curtly.

A second later, Shizuka opened the door and in came Yugi, but he wasn't alone, he was accompanied by the rest of the gang to Kaiba's dismay.

"Great," he mumbled to himself, "Just what I needed."

Shizuka nervously swallowed and glanced nervously at the floor. "H-Here they are, sir." She said.

Yugi slowly stepped forward, "Kaiba, we would like to talk,"

"Yeah, ya better listen' to what we have to say!" Jonouchi piped up angrily.

"Shh!" Anzu said.

Kaiba rolled his eyes, "Please," he said in annoyance, "I don't have time for this,"

"Kaiba," Yugi tried again, "Please. This is important. There's a life a child here at stake."

Kaiba, who had headed back to his desk gently, swayed his chair side to side. "What do you geeks want?" he said.

"Mai just had her baby yesterday…" Yugi began slowly, "…And…we just wanted to know…if you have any idea of who the father is…or…if…"

"Kaiba, don't be a jerk and tell us what you know," Honda interrupted. Anzu glared at Honda and nudged in the chest. "Ow!" he cried.

Kaiba smirked, "Really?" He adjusted himself on his seat, "is that really what you all came to say?"

He laughed, "Even if I did know something, I don't think it's in my interest to tell you."

Anzu, Honda and Jonouchi gave each other knowing glances. So he does know something… they thought.

Shizuka's lip trembled.

"Kaiba," Yugi said softly, "Please, like I said, this isn't really about us, there's a kid involved."

Kaiba narrowed his eyes, "I just can't believe that you morons have some nerve to barge into my office without any consideration. I don't want to part of any of this you hooligans came up with."

"Kaiba, we all know that you know something," Honda said, "Now why don't you just do us the favor and just SPIT IT OUT!"

Kaiba pointed a finger dramatically at Honda, "You dare yell at me in my office?"

"Honda…"Shizuka whispered, "Please…"

Jonouchi, who had been building up his rage during this whole conversation raised his finger and pointed dramatically at Kaiba, "So that's it, then." He said, "You're that father, aren't ya?!" As soon as Jonouchi said it, his heart sank. He never really dreamed that Kaiba could be the father.

Kaiba didn't say anything. He only glared at Jonouchi.

Everyone looked at each other. Could it be true? Could Kaiba really be the father? Or could he just be bluffing just to get on Jonouchi's nerves? If he knew all along, then why didn't he say anything?

Jonouchi, nodded slowly as he lowered his arm, "So you're the dad…You knew all along and YA NEVA TOLD HER?!"

Shizuka placed her hands on her brother's arms, "Please, Jonouchi…"

Jonouchi threw his arm away, "No!" he cried, "It can't be like this!"

There was an awkward pause. Kaiba blinked slowly, but for some reason, he didn't look surprised.

"I always knew you geeks were a bit slow," Kaiba began slowly after the dramatic pause, "But now I think you losers need some serious help."

"This isn't a joke, Kaiba" Anzu said.

"Just tell us, are you the dad or not?" Honda pressed on.

Shizuka, suddenly stepped forward, there were tears in her eyes. "Mr. Kaiba…" She said softly a tear ran down her cheek, "Would you-would you have told me…about this?"

"No," Kaiba replied coldly.

Shizuka's lip trembled, then she nodded slowly, "Al-Alright," she said, "Then I quit."

Kaiba didn't say anything, but then he slowly smirked, "Fine then," he said.

Everyone looked at Shizuka, then at Kaiba. Shizuka took a deep breath and wiped her tear away, then she turned to her friends and said coolly, "Come on, guys…Let's go."

Shizuka only grabbed her purse; she didn't bother to pack her things. Anzu held her hand and they exited the building.

"Well," Yugi said after five minutes of silence, "That-that went well."

Jonouchi snorted, "I can't believe that jerk…" he muttered, "He was the dad all along…"

"Hey, we don't know that for sure…"Anzu reminded him.

"Anzu, Ain't it obvious?" Jonouchi said.

Honda shook his head, "You know for a man who own s a toy company…You'd think he would be…you know, a lot more jolly."

Yugi didn't say anything he seemed to be in deep thought. Could Kaiba know something? The way he reacted it looked like he didn't. Then again, now that Yugi thinks about it, they way they approached Kaiba was a bit strong. Maybe he had no idea that Mai was pregnant. Maybe he also had no idea that they all lost their memories. But is it possible that maybe Kaiba lost his memories that night too? If so, how? And how was it possible that Shizuka remembers everything? Yugi nor his friends mentioned that they had lost they're memories, damn, if only Yugi had explained everything from the start, maybe Kaiba, if he felt like it that is, could have told them something or may have given them some sort of hint.

But now they blew it, they pissed Kaiba off, there was no way Kaiba would tell them anything now.

And that's when Yugi's eyes lit up.

"Was it me," Yugi continued as they crossed the street, "But didn't Kaiba seem awfully calm when he saw us there? It was like…he almost expected us there."

"Of course he did," Anzu said, "Kaiba isn't stupid. If he knew valuable information-which he obviously does- he would have at least expected this."

Shizuka nodded in agreement, "Yeah, now that I think about it…Mr. Kaiba has been awfully strange for that last couple of months. He…he would sometimes ask me if there were any calls or if someone came looking for him…"

She gasped and her eyes suddenly lit up, "Guys! I just suddenly remembered! Mr. Kaiba even asked me to keep a close watch on you guys!"

Everyone gasped dramatically.

"That creep!" Anzu said.

"There's just nothing he's not capable of, is there?" Honda said.

Yugi shook his head, "I just feel like there's more to this than we think it is…Like…"

"He's hiding something."

Yes, that was the only answer. Kaiba was hiding something. And there was no doubt in anyone's mind of what it was.

Kaiba is the father of Mai's child.
