HELLO EVERYONE! I AM ALIIIIIIIIVVVVEEEE! So sorry for the wait. I was so bust with school and work so I hardly ever had time to update. And I think I should have at least warned you or informed you about my busy schedule. Again, I apologise. AND GOOD NEWS! I'm writing a story right now! And this time it's a Silentshipping one too! Woohoo! I won't give any details just yet. But hopefully it will come sometimes soon after I finish with this fic.

DIZCLAIMER: Nope. Still do not own.

AFTER ABOUT THREE days, Mai and her baby had returned home, but Mai wouldn't look at the child. Even when he friends say they could support her, she didn't know how to say it. She already felt irresponsible already. How could a woman not know the father of her own child? How could she take care of a child when she only knows how to take care of herself? It wouldn't be fair for the child and it wouldn't be fair for Mai. Mai had no idea what to do. Now that the baby is born, she's more nervous than ever. What if she messes up? What if the kid ends up wanting to run away from her and ends up on the streets? Mai had seen and done it. She knows what it's like.

"Then promise to give the best of everything," Yugi had told her a few days ago. "The kid will love you no matter what…"

"I'm sorry kid…" Mai muttered to herself as she woke up for the first time in her bed. Then Mai rose from her bed and headed towards the kitchen, yawning, where she found a certain someone feeding the infant.

"Good morning!" Shizuka said cheerfully.

Mai was not surprised.

Fortunately, Shizuka, who had resigned recently at Kaiba corps, had plenty of time to spare and had volunteered to take care of Mai's child. Mai had tried several times to convince Shizuka that she didn't need her help, but Mai couldn't find it in her heart to say no to Shizuka. Now, Mai would find Shizuka already at her apartment, playing with the small tyke.

"Morning…" Mai muttered as she made her way to the counter to prepare herself some coffee.

"Oh!" Shizuka said as she noticed Mai pouring water into another pot, "I've already have water boiled, "

"…Oh…" it took Mai more than a second to realized what Shizuka had said. Mai wasn't a morning person. "…Uh-huh…" she sleepily replies and returned the pot into the cabinet.

MEANWHILE…

Jonouchi didn't get enough sleep last night. In fact, he hadn't gotten sleep at all. There was no peace in his mind, only…anger…and guilt. For one thing, the woman the he loves had just recently had a baby…and it wasn't his. Or…was it? No, it wasn't his, he knew it. Kaiba almost confirmed it and it pisses Jonouchi even more. How could that bastard do that? Leave a poor innocent woman to care for his child by herself? Even worse, deny that the child is his. Kaiba you bastard…

Jonouchi put on his sneakers and headed out the door, where he found Yugi already waiting for him. As soon as Jonouchi stepped out, Yugi said, "Hey….you alright?" sensing Jonouchi's anger.

Jonouchi didn't respond, he only headed down the stairs towards the apartment parking lot.

LATERS…

Mai suddenly found everyone at her home, much to her disappointment. Ryuji, Honda, Anzu, Bakura and Miho were all in the living room, getting to know the new arrival. Everyone would pass the child to somebody else's arms and each get a chance to talk to the child. The baby, was equally fascinated by everyone, it's eyes could not stop staring at everyone.

"Oh, so cute!" Anzu cooed as she held the baby in her arms.

"So little…"Ryuji remarked fascinated and he gently let the baby grab his pointer finger.

"What are we going to name the kid?" Honda asked, turning to Mai. Mai didn't reply but only took a seat next to Shizuka. Mai gave Honda a surprised look, Honda then turned awkwardly away, as if nothing's happened.

"Come on, Mai" Anzu began, "You can't just ignore the kid forever…It's not the baby's fault…"

"Yeah, Mai…It's okay…" Bakura piped up, "We said this a thousand times…we're here for you and the kid."

Mai nodded slowly. The doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" Miho cried cheerfully and she bounced off the sofa and headed towards the door.

"Oh, hello!" everyone heard her say, then, Yugi and Jonouchi walk into the living room. The two men however had two completely different attitudes when they arrives. Yugi, whose arms are full of shopping bags, was grinning from ear to ear, his hands were shaking from nervousness and excitement. Jonouchi however, had his hands into his pockets, and a frown, he did not greet anybody.

"Hello baby!" Yugi said he sat down and placed a shopping bag on the coffee table. The baby, who was still in Anzu's arms glanced at Yugi and smiles.

"Hey!" Yugi exclaims, "The kid smiled at me!"

Everyone coos at the response.

"Well I'll be damned," Ryuji mutters.

After several minutes of cooing and awing at the new arrival, Miho decided it was best to start giving out dinner.

"I hope everyone likes it," Miho says as she gets out the containers filled with food, "I made it myself,"

After the food was heated (it was spaghetti with meatballs) everyone gathered around the dining table and began to serve themselves. Mai glances around the table and notices how everyone was laughing and having a great time. Despite her bitter feelings about the gathering in the beginning, she couldn't help but to laugh and enjoy herself. She misses her times spending with her friends, and no one seemed to care at all that Mai had a child without a father. A tear ran down Mai's cheek.

"Mai…" Anzu was the first to notice, "What's wrong?"

Everyone turns towards the teary blonde, who mentally curses herself for crying in the first place, "It's nothing…" Mai began.

"Come on Mai," Bakura encourages, "Spill it, no one's going to judge…"

Everyone nodded and agreed in unison, they all focused on Mai, even the child, who is now back Shizuka seemed to have its eyes on her.

"It's just…"Mai began and bitterly wipes away a tear. Jonouchi, shook his head. He understands what Mai was trying to say. He already knew. If anyone can understand Mai it would be him.

"You guys are just so effing wonderfull…"Mai says and then, she couldn't help it. She began to cry.

Anzu, Miho, and Shizuka immediately got up from their seats and began to confort their troubled friend.

LATERS…

It was probably a little past eight o' clock about an hour after everyone had left. Shizuka was in the spare room, where the infant now resides, gathering all the utilities needed for the night. At the doorway, Mai watched how her auburn haired friend, organized the diaper bag and talked to the infant at the same time.

"Hey Shizuka…" Mai suddenly said.

Shizuka zips up the bag and begins to reach for the child in the crib, "Yeah?" she replied.

"I've been thinking…"Mai began slowly, "That…" she struggled with her words, "That m-maybe…we can look for a name for the kid…"

At this, Shizuka completely froze, and turns to Mai her mouth agape, "Mai!" she cries, "That's great! Oh my-oh my god!" Shizuka quickly realized that she was probably overreacting and quickly composes herself, "I-I- mean…if you want…we can start early in the morning…is there a name you had in mind?" she finishes the last part carefully, examining Mai's expressions.

Mai shook her head, "I…" she blushes, "I don't know where to begin…"she admits. Shizuka smiles, "That's okay." She replied happily, "We'll think of something…" She gives her friend a hug. She places the sleeping infant into the car seat, gathers everything and leaves the apartment.

THE NEXT MORNING…

Shizuka glances at the clock and found that it was nearly nine in the morning. She groans. She slowly sits up and glances at a crib next to her bed, she hears the baby gently snoring. She smiles.

TO be perfectly honest, Shizuka had not slept last night. When they arrived at Shizuka's apartment around ten at night, the baby slept for only four hours. But Shizuka could not help but to smile. She was just in love with the kid. Completely in love.

Shizuka went into the bathroom and did all her necessary needs and headed straight to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for herself and the kid.

About twenty-five minutes later, the doorbell rang. Shizuka, who was washing the dishes, paused. She raised an eyebrow, "Who could it be at this hour?" she wondered outloud. She took off her dishwasher gloves and headed towards the door.

Shizuka tippy-toes and peers into the peep-hole on her front door.

She gaps and immediately opens the door.

Standing at the doorway, with his arms crossed, was Seto Kaiba.
