Ok before I begin I would like to thank my reviewers for such nice words. They are so nice to hear and I love your feedback . Also I know I have been updating pretty consistently but that's because I was transferring it off my other account so updates may take longer now that I'm back to writing it. Also just so you all know this story is going to take place through all seven books so hopefully it will be long enough for you. Now on with the action.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Chapter 7
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They had ended up on the topmost branch of the tallest tree on the grounds. Sachi had her back against Draco who had his back against the trunk. This way if he started to fall she would feel it and be able to catch him. It was about three in the morning.
"Are you having fun?" She murmured quietly to him. His breathing was slower and she wasn't sure if he was asleep or not. After receiving a sigh like sound from him she turned to see his half open eyes looking at her.
"Why? Don't I look like I am having fun?" he asked with a smirk at her which she returned almost perfectly.
"Well it's not that. I just thought you might be freaked out by this and never want to hang with me again..."
Draco sat up a little. "Why would you think that? I mean I already knew what you were from the robe store remember?" Sachi sighed a little and turned back around.
"Yes but knowing and seeing can sometimes cause two completely different reactions."
"Sachi look at me." She leaned her head back until her eyes met his. "No matter any reason, whether because you're a Gryffindor and I a Slytherin, or because you mock me every chance you get and I the same, or because you have friends who I will never get along with and once again the same goes for me, you are one of the most incredible, extraordinary people I know and I will never get tired of being around you." He finished this bold statement by pressing his lips to her forehead.
To say that she wasn't surprised would be a lie, but never the less she closed her eyes and sighed at the feeling. When he pulled away she reopened them to see a genuine smile on his face.
"What was that?" she asked with a smirk.
"I don't really know. I just remember that whenever I wasn't feeling perfect or something was bothering me my mother would do that and somehow I'd feel a little bit better."
"Draco I believe you're going soft on me." Sachi said with a laugh and the smirk now covered Draco's face.
"What? Don't tell me you didn't like it. I sure did."
"I'll blame that on sleep deprivation. Speaking of which just close your eyes and try and get some. If you start to fall I'll feel it and save your sorry ass." They both laughed at this comment before Draco obeyed and leaned back against the trunk. Sachi resumed her position as well and waited til his breathing became deep before losing herself to the darkness.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sachi awoke on the same branch she had fallen asleep on in the dream. It was such a nice dream, back when times were simple, and instinctively she reached back to feel Draco only to have her hand reach the trunk. She sighed. The emptiness behind her reminded that those times were gone.
With great agility and balance she landed from branch to branch until stopping on the cool ground in front of the lake. Everything was so quiet and judging by the moon it was around two in the morning.
She stopped by the lakes edge and her eyes fell on the white tomb just behind her. A sigh escaped her mouth as she turned back to the reflection on the glass surface of the lake.
She had changed so much since back then. She was taller, more muscular but still pretty lean. As she tugged her hair out of it's braid she watched quietly as her hair fell gently to her lower back, before turning back to the white stone case behind her and walking up to it.
"I really screwed everything up didn't I?" she asked it quietly. This monument wasn't enough for what lay inside it. There should be statues to it's occupant, not something so simple. Without realizing it Sachi was on her knees beside the base, sobbing.
She didn't know how long she was there but soon she heard footsteps rustling the leaves behind her. Sachi rose off the ground to see Draco coming at her slowly.
"Sachi..." he said quietly as his feet came to a stop. All this time had changed him as well. He was taller and more muscular and built like a true man. His hair hung naturally on his forehead and slightly in his eyes.
"Draco...." Sachi muttered, every ounce of her trying to resist this urge inside of her. After mere seconds though she gave in and ran straight into his arms. He wrapped them tightly around her and let her cry on his shoulder until no more tears came.
"You didn't screw anything up Sachi. It's my fault you're here. It's my fault he's here. It's all my fault! I dragged you into this!" His eyes welled up and she quickly wiped away the tears threatening to form.
"You didn't drag me anywhere Draco. I came because I wasn't going to leave you in the middle of this mess. I came because I chose to and no other reason." and with that she stretched up until her lips met his. He responded quickly and they stood there for a lone minute before she pulled back away.
"Is he up there?" she asked quietly and Draco nodded. "And he sent you to come fetch me?" Again he nodded but there was an added stiffness to it. "Then I guess we shouldn't keep him waiting." She commented as the mark on her arm began to burn.
Draco grabbed her arm to stop her from moving forward. "Why did you let him go?" he asked. "Why didn't you just do what you were told?"
Sachi looked into his eyes, those damn eyes. "I just couldn't Draco. I know we're supposed to be on sides here but I just can't be. My goal is to save as many people as I possibly can and we both know if he dies so does all the hope." She grabbed his hands and began to pull him back toward the castle.
They walked in silence the whole way, both contemplating their own thoughts. It wasn't until they reached the headmaster's office and saw Snape standing there did they snap out of their minds.
"He's upstairs." The dark professor said quietly. Both students made a move to go forward but Snape caught Draco's arm. "I'm sorry. Only Sachi can go up." To new ears there would be no emotion in his voice but Sachi caught the pain hidden in each syllable. Draco looked crestfallen as their eyes met again.
"Sachi, just so you know I-" but her smile cut him off.
"I know." and with that she turned towards the staircase now escalating up to the headmasters door. When she reached the wooden entryway she paused for another second.
"It shouldn't have been this way..." she muttered to herself before opening the door. She caught the sight of those twinkling blue eyes in a portrait behind the chair before she heard the incantation and saw a flash of green light.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sachi wasn't sure what had woken her up, her screaming or the screaming coming from the forbidden forest. All she knew was at that moment she was terrified.
"What is it!?" Draco asked frantically as his arms wrapped around her in protection. She felt a bit of remorse for waking him up. Quickly she removed his arms from her waste.
"Nightmare..." she murmured before looking to the forbidden forest. The wailing sound was still coming from the trees. "What do you suppose that is?" She felt Draco's shoulders rise in confusion. Quickly she threw him on her back before taking off down the branches. They landed on the ground and took of at a sprint past the lake, past the area where in her dream Sachi had seen the white tomb, past Hagrid's hut, until the reached the edge of the forbidden forest.
"It sounds like some sort of animal..." Draco trailed off.
"I've heard animals in pain before Draco and this is different. Whatever is making this sound is running for it's life while in pain." That added with the evil aura coming from somewhere inside had Sachi going through any possible attack that could happen.
Suddenly the sound stopped and all was still with the world. No living thing besides the two were making a sound and the scent of blood quickly hit Sachi's nose, causing her to set Draco down on the ground.
"Stay here..." she hissed to him before taking off at a sprint through the trees. The blood was not far away, but what worried Sachi was what was there waiting for her at the scene.
After about forty five seconds she reached the source of the blood. There on the ground lay a being of pure white with a glow that seemed to be fading every second while silver blood dripped out of it's neck. Sachi stepped closer to the form only to see that it was a unicorn. She couldn't believe they actually existed.
"Wow....." was all she managed to say before a movement to her left caused her to turn abruptly and let a snarl escape her lips. A cloaked figure was sweeping towards her at a pace that was almost to smooth and quick to be a human. Dripping from the beings mouth Sachi knew to be the blood of the unicorn.
"Who are you?" she growled quietly flexing her claws. She couldn't get a good scent on this guy due to the blood all around her and that annoyed her.
The figure smirked a cruel smirk under the cloak before turning and taking off straight back to where Draco was standing alone and unprotected. The realization hit her hard as she took off at top speed after the person. She couldn't sense him anymore and the smell was gone. Still she kept going until she reached the border where there was no Draco to be found.
"Draco?" she called getting frantic. "Draco? Draco Malfoy!" As she turned she saw him coming out of hiding from behind Hagrid's hut.
"What are you yelling at? Did you find- oof!" Draco said as the wind was knocked out of him due to the fact Sachi had just ran up and hugged him as hard as she could. "What the hell is this about?!" he shouted confusion written all over his face.
"It was a werewolf or something attacking another creature that's all." Sachi lied smoothly not wanting to spook Draco. "But when it saw me it turned and took off in this direction and when I got here and you weren't here I got scared that you had been attacked." Sachi didn't let go of him, she couldn't. She had been terrified that he was going to be killed and it would be her fault.
"I went to get help that's it." Draco sighed as he slowly put his arms around her. "I saw Professor Snape on the grounds and I told him what had happened and he went to fetch Professor Dumbledore."
"And not a moment to soon I might had." Snape sneered as he and Professor Dumbledore quickly walked up. The two students separated and stared at the two teachers.
"I thought I told you not to go into the forbidden forest Ms. Higurashi." Dumbledore said sternly causing Sachi to look with shame to the ground. "What exactly happened?" Sachi rose her head to speak only to feel a curious sensation going through her. Snape was staring at her with his wand pointing at her and suddenly Sachi was reliving the whole dream again. When she came back she was on the ground with Draco leaning next to her.
"Mr. Malfoy will you please wait inside. We need to talk to Ms. Higurashi alone for a moment." Snape said. Draco looked at her but she nodded and with a wave of her hand sent him back to the castle.
"What is wrong Severus?" Dumbledore asked turning his attentions between Snape and herself.
"Sir I think this student here may have had a vision...." Snape trailed off not sure what to say.
"A vision? Well that is interesting..." Dumbledore turned his full attention back to Sachi.
"Extremely...." Snape muttered.
"Well what do you remember seeing Ms. Higuashi?" Dumbledore stared at her as if he already knew. Sachi was confused. They couldn't mean that dream she had. The one with the feeling of sadness. The one where she kissed.......Sachi felt herself pale considerably.
"Well I was quite a bit older....I would say at least fifteen. And it was another night of the full moon. There was a white tomb on the edge of the lake, and it felt like someone I had cared about considerably was buried in it. And Draco came down to the shore to fetch me for someone." Sachi left out the part about the kiss. "And I felt like I was going to be punished because I had failed to capture someone. So we went to your office sir and professor Snape was there and he told me to go up alone. So I did and when I opened the door I saw a portrait of you behind the headmaster's chair and then I heard a muttering of some sorts and then there was a green light. Then I woke up." Sachi wasn't sure if she had taken another breath or not but when she looked up she became uneasy by the looks Dumbledore and Snape were giving her.
"The muttering you heard before the light...what did it say?" Dumbledore asked quietly.
Sachi thought for a minute. The voice who had said it had been quiet and she wasn't prepared for it but she remembered half. "Avada something sir."
"Avada Kerdava...." Dumbledore sighed sadly.
"The killing curse." Snape finished for him.
"Wait, what?" Sachi asked quickly.
"Ms. Higurashi I suggest that when the class becomes available to you, you should take Divination. Until then if you have any more of these visions please come and tell me." Dumbledore said quickly. "Now seeing as it is dawn and your condition has changed back, I suggest you go back inside."
Sachi looked at her hands. She hadn't noticed that she was back to being human. With a nod of her head she took off toward the entrance.
"What did they sa- Oh your back to normal!" Draco exclaimed as she ran into the hall. Sachi paused to catch her breath.
"What is the spell Avada Kerdava Draco?" she asked and saw as his face became alarmed just like the professors had.
"Th-that's the killing curse. But why do you ask?"
"Because I think years from now it gets used on me." Sachi breathed as she stood up straight. The pained expression crossed Draco's face and she felt remorse for telling him this.
"Never mind I'm just joking!" she shouted patting him on the back. He looked at her and forced a laugh but his face kept a tiny bit of the uneasiness in it. "Now I'm starving so I'm gonna get changed for breakfast. I'll see you later!" and with that she took off towards the stairs, only turning to see him looking at her with a smile again. For a moment she saw the future him with the same look standing in the same place just surrounded by many people dressed up. As soon as it came though it vanished away, but Sachi let that vision stay in her memory for she liked what she saw.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
