"It's ok love, everything's ok. You are going to be fine. As your dad used to say, us Gilmores are fighters" her mum smiled trying to cheer her daughter up. Julie felt unsure of how to act around her daughter in her fragile state. She and Jen were never close, not since her mum walked out on the family when they were 12 for another man.

As soon as she saw her mother, she felt a wash of sadness over her, causing her to sob uncontrollably. That and the mix of pain in her body. Jen attempted to gather herself, feeling slightly embarrassed at her outburst of tears in the company of her mother. Clearing her throat while whipping her eyes she shifted feeling awkward as her mum continued to stroke her hair.

'umm, I'm fine mum, really" her moved her hands to her side letting go of Julie.

They stood looking at each other, not knowing what to say. They both let out a sigh of relief as Jens brother Liam walked into the room. He rushed to her side placing two coffees on the side table.

'Jen!.. your awake. Thank god. Ive been so worried about you. Are you in much pain? How do you feel?" he said in a panic.

Jen just laid there, eyes wide. She let out a slight laugh "wow, calm down Liam. I'm fine!...I'm not going that easily" she winked.

She paused for breath. Liam noticed her sudden change to discomfort as she attempted to control her breathing. He was very worried over his sister's venerable state.

She begins to speak again, in a croaked and cracked tone "Besides, its not all bad… Ive got a cool scar. Don't be too jealous will you" she winked again. Then replaced the mask back onto her face as she again felt out of breath.

Liam let out a laugh, he was glad Jen could still be humorous while in her situation. That is something I suppose, he thought. He was unaware it was just a cover up to how she was feeling deep down. In pain, exhausted and struggling with the whole situation. She felt incredibly weak and frail.

Jens mother moved to retrieve a chair from the corner of the room to sit down, as did Liam. Julie reached into her handbag and pulled out her book, she started reading it. Jen just looked at her and rolled her eyes. Liam noticed, but shrugged and smiled at his sister.

Jens mind was instantly drawn to the curiosity of Tilly. She attempted to sit up; Liam instantly helped her, moving her pillows further back so she was able to reposition herself. Discomfort spreading across her face.

After a couple moments, she removed her oxygen mask to speak. She wearingly asked. "umm… has anyone else visited" a part of her hoped he would say Tillys name, however the other part hoped he wouldn't as he has no idea about them. All he knew was that Jen had met a girl who she felt instantly attracted to but it was short lived as Jen discovered that her new love interest was in fact her student. She was quick to reassure him that nothing else was going to happen and that she quickly ended things.

Her brother replied "Sophie has been here a lot, a couple work colleges and 2 other mates. Daryl and Mark" he smiled.

Daryl and Mark were Jens friends from university who lived not far from Sophie in London.

"oh" she couldn't help but show instant disappointment on her face.

Liam just looked at his sister with a confused expression. "were you expecting anyone else Jen"

She froze, her body immediately tensing up. "ermm….no" she weakly smiled. Deep down she felt devastated. She wondered if her thoughts were in fact playing tricks on her. She contemplated Tilly telling her she loved her on top of the archway was just a dream. A pigment of her imagination. A hope more like.

Julie spoke, bringing Jen out of her thoughts "I think I'm going to go love and leave you to rest, you look exhausted, I will come back soon. Liam, let's leave Jen to get some rest yes" Liam gets up.

"get some rest sis, I will come back tomorrow ok" he smiled as he places a hand on his sisters, Jen just smiles back in appreciation. Happy to have seen her brother. Her mum just smiled at her daughter and began to leave, Liam following behind her.

Jen feels empty, she can't believe that Tilly hasn't visited her this whole time, her angel who has kept her soul alive. 'She's meant to be my girl friend' she whispers to herself. Jens mind yet again starts to reel off all the possibilities as to why Tilly might not have visited. She then thought 'she might have been sneaking in, trying to avoid others'.She feels frustrated. She just wants Tilly by her side. She so desperately wants to be in her company. Before Jen can process another thought, she's jolts as she hears her name being spoken.

"Jen" someone quietly, whispering her name.

Jen then looks ahead of her towards the door.

She is greeted with the face of the angel.
