I do not own Alice in Wonderland.

Lester smirked as he watched Alex sneak away from the prisoner's cell. He had seen her heading this way, so he followed her. And he waited for her while she stayed in the cell with Him. He ground his teeth thinking of how close the mad man was to his fellow knight.

"I will have to remedy this." Lester made his way towards the Queen's private chambers with swift feet.

Lester knocked on the door and waited patiently. "Enter." He entered quickly at the Queen's words. "My Knight, come." Lester approached the Queen and knelt before her. He took her hand and planted a kiss on her knuckles. "What brings you here?"

"My Queen, I bring grave news." Lester couldn't help the smile that was on his face, but managed to turn it into a smirk. "The Hatter is causing problems."

"What problems could that be? He is locked up in a cell." The Queen chewed the inside of her lip with a frown.

"He can do magic, your Majesty. I have seen it." Lester could see the Queen was still wondering what he was trying to say. "He has cast a spell on your Crimson Knight. She can not help but have mercy for him."

"My Crimson Knight has no mercy. As seen when she burnt my sister's forest as she travels north." The Queen was very happy to see the pale excuse of a forest burn. It was saddening her own forest.

Lester approached the Queen and stood behind the chair she was sitting on. "Yes, but not anymore. He has cast a very strong enchantment on her. One that can only be broken if she kills him."

"Don't worry about it. She will at his execution at noon." The Queen grabbed a file and began smoothing out her nails. "I don't see why you are so worried about it. Unless there is something you haven't told me."

"I would just hate for you to lose your Champion, My Queen." Lester began thinking of another argument. "But isn't it risky, your Majesty. Alexis is scheduled to interrogate the Hatter in the morning. The Hatter could ask her to let him go."

The Queen paused and pushed her lips in thought. "That's true. And I would like to deliver his head to my sister as soon as possible."

"So, perhaps a morning execution would be better, for everyone?" Lester asked while walking away from the Queen.

"Yes it does." The Queen set her file down and walked up to her Knight. "You're always looking out for me. Call Alexis. I need to inform her of the change." The Queen walked passed Lester with a smile on her face as she headed for her throne room.

Lester smiled as he watched the Queen walk away. "As you wish."

Alex knelt at the foot of the Red Queen's throne. She was in her armour with her helmet by her side. She had been on her way to interrogate Blood when Lester had told her that the Queen had summoned her.

"Your may rise, my Crimson Knight." The Queen eyed the girl. There didn't seem to be anything different about her. "It has been brought to my attention, that the Hatter is too dangerous to be kept alive any longer." The Queen noticed shock cross the girl's features. Lester had been right. "His execution has been moved. It shall be immediately."

"You're Majesty, shouldn't we learn what we can from the Hatter about your sister's plans and her army? I'm sure he knows something." Alex was trying to buy some time. This was too soon.

"He has nothing that we don't already know." The Red Queen stood and began making her way down from her throne. "Plus, with you as my champion, my sister does not stand a chance." The Queen placed a hand on Alexis' shoulder. "This is for the best dear."

Alex stood once the Queen had walked passed her. She eyed Lester as he made his way towards her with a sinister smile on his face. "What did you tell her?" She knew he had something to do with this. She knew how easily he could influence the Queen.

"What could you possibly mean, Alex?" Lester held his hands out in an innocent gesture.

"It's Alexis to you, Lester." Alex turned away from Lester as she lifted her helmet and placed it on her head and walked away. "Chez?"

"It's rather cramped in here." Alex rolled her eyes as a small cat crawled out of her helmet. "Much better. Still going with the plan?"

"Stay with me. We can replace one of the guards now. But we can still make this work." Alex breathed calmly as she made her way to the prison cells. "We've only got one chance."

"Well yeah. Unless you know how to undo a beheading." Chez chuckled as he crawled back into the helmet to hide. "Good thing I kept up my shrinking ability."

"Yeah no kidding." Alex took a deep breath as she rounded the last corner. "Here we go."
