I do not own Alice in Wonderland.

Alex was woken up by the sound of the door to the dungeon being opened. She sat up and stretched as best as she could. The wooden bench that was in the cell did not make for a comfortable bed.

Alex kept her face neutral as the regal form of the White Queen came into view. Her perfect white hair pulled away from her pale face, and her eyes lined with black, like her black painted lips. The Queen motioned for the knights to open Alex's cell. The Queen followed two knights into the cell.

She looked down on alex with a small, triumphant smile. "Have you had enough time to reflect on your treacherous actions?" Alex glared at the White Queen. She didn't look like she wanted to give Alex any sympathy or mercy. "Your crimes against my kingdom are substantial."

"If I remember correctly, most of the land is now in possession of the Red Queen." Alex smirked as the Queen's face began turning red. "I should know, I gave it to her."

*SLAP*

Alex raised a hand to her cheek. She could still feel the sting of a hand. She watched as the knights shifted nervously and the Queen stare at her hand in fear.

"I've broken my oaths." The Queen spoke softly as she gripped her hand that had struck Alex. The Queen looked up at Alex with an angry look in her eyes. "You knew this would happen." She growled at Alex before her eyes softened again. "I've lost myself." The Queen took off running out of the dungeon.

Alex was surprised by the Queen's action and couldn't help but run after her. The woman did not seem to be herself. She found other knights doing the same. None paying her much attention.

"I've broken my oaths!" Alex could hear the Queen shouting, but could not see the woman. How could she move so swiftly in such a large dress?

Cries of shock and distress could be heard coming from the courtyard. Alex and the group of knights came out to the courtyard and saw many of the people of the court pointing towards a balcony. Alex looked up and immediately looked away.

But just the brief look was now ingrained into her memory. The Queen, with her black eyeliner running down her face from tears, her hair, still perfectly white, blowing about her face, her dress, with the hemmed ripped off, pulling her towards the ground, and the tattered hemline of her dress just barely keeping her body up as it hung below the balcony. Not any easy sight to forget for the person who was the last to see her alive.

"Alex?" Alex looked up and saw Blood running towards her. "Alex! Are you alright?" Blood pulled Alex into a hug. He let out a sigh of relief as she wrapped her arms around him and returned his hug. "I was so worried. They wouldn't let me speak to you. And I have never seen the Queen so upset before."

"It doesn't look like you will be seeing the Queen anymore." Alex looked up at the balcony. Then quickly looked away again. The shock was still there, even after having that image burned into your mind.

Blood looked up and stared at the scene before him. He had seen death before, but he had never thought the Queen would do this. It wasn't in her nature, but how she had been acting was also not in her nature. He hugged Alex closer to him.

Attention was drawn to a small white rabbit with a trumpet as he sounded it. "The Vorpal sword...it glows." The rabbit's whisper was loud enough to be heard throughout the entire courtyard. "A new Queen has been chosen." As the rabbit spoke a glowing light came up from behind him. The rabbit cowered when it saw the light.

The light came from the Vorpal sword as it floated through the air. It hung in the air, as if waiting for someone. Everyone looked amongst themselves, but none stepped forward.

Alex took a deep breath before nodding. "Alright." She took a step towards the glowing sword, but stopped when a hand gripped her arm. She looked back at a worried Blood, she smiled gently at him. "Don't worry. She wont hurt me." She managed to pull her arm out of his grasp and continued walking towards the sword.

The crowd parted once they took notice of her. Alex stopped when she stood in front of the sword and lifted her arm up to grasp the sword. The light that came from the sword increased till it became blinding. It died soon after, leaving the courtyard visibly darker.

Alex stood with the sword in her hand. She looked at herself and wasn't surprised o find herself in a black dress. She looked at the sword with an unamused face. 'Really? I hate dresses' She grumbled in her head.

'But you're a Queen now' Alex stared down at the sword in confusion. 'I can talk to your mind when we are in physical contact.' Alex sighed at the words from the sword in her hand. 'Now to address your subjects.'

Alex looked out over the crowd that was staring at her in awe. "My name is Alexandria Mainsfield. The Vorpal sword has chosen me as Queen, if you will have me." Alex looked around and saw people begin to speak. "I know the White Queen did not have a high opinion of me, but I have no love for the Red Queen." Alex looked up at the Queen then back at the crowd. "I am the Black Queen, and I will free this land of the Red Queen. I will not take the White Queen's vows. I will act, in whatever way will accomplish my goal." Alex smiled as the crowd began to clap and shouting her name.

Alex backed away towards the palace, and Blood. She stopped once she was beside him. "Once the Red Queen is gone, I will leave this land, forever."

Blood looked down at the ground at her word. "You will be missed...I will miss you." Blood held her hand and looked at her.

Alex met Blood's gaze with a sad smile of her own. She brought her hand up and held his face in her hand. "I will miss you as well. You will always have a place in my heart." She looked behind her before smiling at Blood. "Come on."

Blood followed with a curious smile on his face. "Where are we going?"

"Somewhere private." Alex told him with a wink. A shiver ran down her spine when she saw Blood's eyes turn a shade darker. She wasn't scared, and she had no regrets, this is what she wanted.

Yep that is where I ended this chapter. Because I just wanted it done. Because it was taking so damn long to write. So deal with it.

And yes, I might come back and rewrite it. But don't hold your breath, it might be a while. A long while.
