I do not own Alice in Wonderland.

Alex stood in her new armor of obsidian black, sleek and shiny. She looked behind her at her army of both white and black chess pieces. Then she turned her gaze to the army before her. Cards of every suit, with a red chair standing before them all. o doubt, holding the Red Queen.

Blood stepped up beside Alex in armor of silver. "Are you sure about this?"

Alex looked at the man beside her. He had volunteered to be her champion without a second thought. She gave him a soft smile before taking his hand. "I am sure." She turned back to look at the Red Queens army. "FORWARD MARCH!" Alex called as she began walking down the hill.

Alex called a halt to her troops once she stepped foot onto the battlefield, a life sized chess board. Alex stood with her helmet under her arm as the red Queen got up from her throne. Alex began walking towards the middle ground with Blood as the Queen did the same with Lester. They stopped with about four feet between them.

"Hello Alex." The Red Queen narrowed her eyes at the blade by Alex's side. "I see my sister's army, but not her. Where is she?"

"Dead. killed herself a few days ago." Alex saw there was only surprise on the Red Queen's face. "This army is my own. I am the Black Queen now." Alex stood tall as the Queen leveled a glare at her.

"Queen? Ha!" The Red Queen laughed at Alex's claim. "You are as much of a Queen as my sister. But you see, I wear the crown."

"For now." Alex looked down at the white rabbit to begin the battle.

The white rabbit sounded his horn. "The Queens Black and Red have come to do battle to determine the fate of Underland. Their champions shall begin the battle."

Blood took one step forward and took a ready stance. Alex took a step back but kept her eyes on The Red Queen and Lester. One wrong move from either of them and she would step in.

The rabbit brought his horn back up to his lips. The air thickened with tension. A single blast from the horn sounded in the air. The champions began their dance of steel.

Alex watched as Blood danced around Lester. She could see that the hatter knew what he was doing. It eased some of the tension inside of her. But something kept the tension there.

Alex pulled her eyes away from the battle between champions and watched the rest of the Red Queen's forces. Had they moved closer? Alex noticed a wicked smile on the Queen's face. Alex's instincts told her to look behind her. She turned and spotted cards coming up behind her army. "The Red Queen attacks from behind! Fight them back!" Alex called out as she slid her helmet into place.

Alex turned to the Red Queen, who was smiling like she had won. Alex drew her sword and began making her way towards the Red Queen. She hadn't seen where Blood and Lester's fight had traveled off to, but right now she didn't care, she had the Queen to take down.

The Red Queen had noticed Alex's intention and had called cards to protect her. Alex easily cut through the cards or knocked them over. In a few steps she stood before the Red Queen that was cowering in her throne. "Any last words?" Alex asked with a monotoned voice. She had to be ready for what she was about to do. There was no going back after this.

"I am Queen. You can not do this to me!" The Red Queen cried as she stared at the armored girl before her. She shut her eyes as Alex swung at her, but all she heard was a clang.

Alex watched as the Red Queen's crown rolled away. She looked back at the Queen. "Not a Queen anymore. Just a rotten apple." Alex shut her eyes as she swung her sword again. 'I'm sorry, but it must be done.' Alex apologized to the silent sword. She had stopped hearing her voice when she had decided to kill the Red Queen. She didn't expect to ever hear it's voice again.

Alex opened her eyes a crack to see if she had accomplished her goal. She quickly turned away from the sight now burned into her mind along side the White Queens. A body slumped with a deep red liquid running down the fancy dress it was dressed in, and a head of curly red hair face down on it's lap.

"It can't be." Alex looked up to see who had spoken. It was Lester. "You killed her?" Lester approached her slowly, using his sword to help with his limping. "YOU KILLED HER!" Lester picked up and his sword and ran at Alex.

Alex easily deflected his blade and plunged her own into his chest. She heard him gasp in her ear. "I killed her, and I killed you. For the good of Underland." Alex pushed Lester off of her blade. She didn't stay long. She had to find Blood. If Lester was here...then where was he.

Alex ran around calling for Blood. She couldn't find him on the field, so she went towards the ruins of an ancient castle. He had to be somewhere. "Blood!"

"Alex." Alex heard the whisper in the wind. She turned around to try and find where it came from. She threw off her helmet and went against the wind she felt. "Alex." Alex broke into a run after dropping her helmet and the Vorpal sword. she didn't need them anymore.

"Blood!" Alex called as she rounded a corner. She almost stopped breathing when she saw him. Laying against a red shiny stone. She ran to him and hesitated to touch him. "Oh Blood. What have I done?"

"Nothing to me." Blood smiled as he reached up and held Alex's face in his hand. "I'm sorry-*cough*"

Alex hushed him as she pushed his hair out of his face. "Don't speak. I'll get a healer." She moved to leave but Blood stopped her.

"It's too late for me. The only reason I haven't left yet is because I'm too stubborn to leave without saying goodbye." Blood wiped a tear away from Alex's face.

"No. No, you can't die." Alex leaned on the red stone, it was slick and sticky. "Please don't die. Who is suppose to take care of Underland?"

"You are." Blood smiled at the shock on Alex's face. "You were always meant to." Blood gasped for another breath. "Underland is in your hands, Alex, my love."

Alex held Blood's hand tightly. "I will take care of it, I promise."

Blood smiled. "I know...you...will..."

Alex shook her head. "No. No! Blood?!" Alex shook the man to try and wake him. "Blood?! BLOOD!" Alex cried at the brightening sky. welcoming a soul to heaven.

~10 years later~

Alex sat with a book in her lap and a little girl staring at her. "And that is the story of the last Alice."

"That was a great story mommy." A little girl with bright orange hair jumped up and hugged her mother. Her Black dress puffed out behind her, retaking it's proper shape after having been sat on for a few hours.

"I'm glad you like it Halloween." Alex kissed the top of her daughter's head. "Which was your favorite?"

"The one were she thought it was all a dream." Halloween giggled as she spun around her room. "Who could ever think Underland is nothing but a dream?"

Alex laughed with her daughter. "I don't know my dear."

"Mommy?" Alex knelt down in front of her daughter. "Can I be Alice one day?"

Alex smiled as she took her daughter's hands. "Anyone can be Alice, at any time in their lives. To be Alice, means to do what one thinks is right. whether it is right for everyone is a different matter. But if you stay true to yourself, you will always be an Alice."

Halloween smiled at her mother. "You're a great Queen mommy."

Alex stood up straight and led her daughter out onto the balcony. "And you are a wonderful Princess, Halloween. Your father would be so proud of you."

"He's watching us?" Halloween looked up at the sky. Her mother had told her that was where her daddy was watching her from.

"Yes. He's always watching and always smiling." Alex looked up at the bright sky and smiled. She always kept her promises.

The End.

Yep I did that. Sorry if you find it short. I'm a little tired of how long it has taken me to finish this story. So this is what came out. deal with it. Sorry if that seems mean.
