Sorry for not updating like I usually do. I've been biking with my friends a lot, and I've been sick, too. I promise I'll try and make some more time for this! Here's chapter 23!
Hiro's P.O.V.
When I woke up, no one was around. I was alone, laying on Erika's bed, and the door in front of me was closed. But, I could still hear voices from the other side of it. They were muffled, so I couldn't make out what they were saying, but I knew who was talking.
I strained to hear, and I could only barely hear the words.
"Is he alright?" I hear Erika say.
Since I heard footsteps coming towards the other side of the door, I knew some of the others were approaching. I couldn't keep straining to hear them; my head was hurting way too much. But I didn't really have to wait long. The door slowly creaked open, showing my friends.
Erika smiled, and I couldn't help by smile back. Even if my head was throbbing, and I couldn't stand the pain in my arm, I couldn't help it.
"Hey," I said, not really caring if it sounded right or not. "How's it going?"
She laughed. "A lot better than you, I'm guessing." She nodded at my arm.
I nodded. "Yeah. I guess you're right."
By this time, Fred and Honey had sat down on the bed at my feet, and Erika walked to sit down by my side.
"Hey, where's your mom?" I asked as Erika sat down beside me. "And Wasabi and Gogo?"
"They think we need more stuff for the celebration tonight, so they're all going out to get whatever they think we could possibly need." explained Erika.
"And your friends?"
"I never said they weren't coming." Erika smirked.
I sighed. Of course.
"Are they bringing anything?"
Erika smirked.
"You'll see." She said, turning to Honey. "Are they almost home? They left about two hours ago. They should be back soon."
Honey grabbed her phone out of her pocket, then asked Erika for her mom's number. As she dialed the number, she whispered; "Don't anybody make a sound. They don't know where we are. We told them that we would go find something, but we decided against that and stayed here."
Honey talked really fast, so it was hard for me to process what all she had said. But I eventually put together the pieces, and nodded.
I heard a click from her phone, and Honey waved to us goodbye. She walked out of the room, shutting the door behind her. I hadn't realized they had left it open.
"So, I'm wondering what time it is," I thought aloud, pulling my phone out of my pocket. I looked at the time. "4:52." I said.
Erika lit up. "Oh my gosh! I'd better clean up just a little more before they get here, which could be any second now. Can you help me, Fred?" Erika rambled, standing. She ran out of the room, then returned moments later with a basket of clean clothes.
Erika's P.O.V.
I had to get this done before they got here.
I rushed around, grabbing a giant basket full of my clean clothes, and rushed back into my room.
"I just have to put these things away, and I would like it if Fred could help Hiro out into the kitchen to watch for my friends and/or the others." I said, focusing on opening the correct drawers, and throwing whatever inside.
I heard Fred start to get up, and heard Hiro grunt as he tried to stand. As they both walked into the other room, I placed my iPod on my charging dock. I clicked play, and Just A Dream by Nelly started playing. I knew all the words, and could rap each part so well, I surprise myself.
I danced a little, finishing the last bit of clothing just as it went off. I didn't sing it, and I wasn't going to dare myself to. Hiro was just in the other room for crying out loud!
As I exited my room, grabbing my iPod, I was met with my mom entered the kitchen.
"Hey, sweetie," she said, setting four bags on the table. I took a glimpse, and saw that they were all candy bars and boxes of other things, like movies, tiny candies, and . . . what was that other box? I grabbed it, bringing it out of the bag. I laughed.
Balloons.
"Quick guys!" I said to Gogo and Wasabi who were just entering. Hiro, Fred, and Honey sat at the table, and I spoke loudly enough so they could also hear. "Help me blow these up! We're going all out."
I opened up the box, then threw the contents all over the table. My mom stepped over to another bag, pulling out a can labeled Helium. She set it on the table, and grabbed a balloon.
As I left them to the balloons so I could set out the candy, the doorbell rang. I stopped opening the bags, but gestured for the others to keep going. They were already almost done, anyways.
I opened the door, and there was Amity and Amelia. Dante was at his car in the driveway, pressing the lock button on his keys. Even if he was only leaving for a second, he didn't trust anyone.
"Hey, Erika." Dante said. Wow. I had forgotten how good-looking he was up close. "Sorry I couldn't bring the others. They wouldn't answer my phone calls, so I wasn't sure if they were ready or not. They're probably already on their way now, though."
"I told you to stop by their houses!" Amity said, turning to Dante. "But noooo. You just had to leave them there, didn't you?"
Dante rolled his eyes. "It wasn't like I was about to walk up to some random girl's house and tell their parents 'Hello. I'm here to take your daughter in my car to a sleepover you probably don't know about and I may or may not be a rapist or anything.' How would you feel about letting someone go with someone who said that to you?"
Amity scoffed. "Like you couldn't let me go and tell their parents. They know me. They trust me."
I laughed at their faces. They were so determined to out-best the other, they didn't even notice ho was sitting at the kitchen table. Sibling rivalry was something always happening between Amity and Dante. Even if Amity's name meant 'peace'.
I opened the door wide so Amelia could at least come inside. As she did, Dante stormed off to his car, muttering, "Give me a call when she's done," or whatever. Amity came inside, too, heading straight for my room. Neither one took notice to the people at the table.
Just as I was about to shut the door, another car pulled up. Out of it came Eva and Rose, waving goodbye to what looked like Rose's mom. They ran inside, giving me a big hug. Just as Amelia and Amity had done, Rose ran into my room to join. But Eva was the only one who stayed behind.
She took a minute to study the people sitting at the table, but she eventually understood.
Eva squealed, which I have only heard her do once before, covering her mouth. She looked at me, then back at the group. Chuckles came from the others, but eventually Rose, Amity, and Amelia came out to see what the fuss was about. They stopped in their tracks, and I slowly began to introduce them.
"Rose, Amity, Eva, and Amelia; I would like you to meet the members of Big Hero 6."
