In the last chapter of Netherworld... Vincent is back from his coma. He has a dream about Ryan. Catherine gets sick at work and things get strange when Vincent's dream son Ryan visits Cat at the precinct. Catherine and Vincent Talk to Ryan now everything is confusing.

Chapter 14: The Miracle

"Are you sure about this?" Catherine asks concerned. Although Ryan and Vincent are connected and she still doesn't understand how he hasn't thought about the big picture. Vincent is still a beast and with the life, they have been currently living that is a big deal.

"yes I'm sure, I know I've been against this whole kid's thing but I feel like this way we can have the kid we want without risking any beast DNA complications," Vincent whispers so that the nearby Susan and Ryan can't hear.

"What about everyone else there is always someone looking for you. Although Muirfield is gone these new people who saved JT how do we know we can really trust them. I don't want Ryan getting hurt because we want normal Vincent"

"I understand your concerns Catherine but I would never let anything happen to Ryan or you. I think we are pretty much off the radar for now on people trying to hunt us down. This is just temporary if it is something we can't handle or if it's a threat we will bring him back here so he can be safe. Please Catherine do this one thing for me. I will make everything right, now that I am out of hiding I can get my medical license reinstated and get a job to bring in an income for you and Ryan. We deserve a future remember we said that so I am going give us a future"

Catherine smiled seeing the passion in Vincent's eyes. He really wanted this and she couldn't tell him no she saw the connection between Ryan and Vincent. Ryan needed Vincent just as Vincent needs Ryan she wasn't going to crush a little boy's dream and break their bond so she agreed.

Catherine spent almost an hour filling out papers and convincing Susan to let Catherine and Vincent take Ryan in their temporary custody. Finally, they prevailed and Ryan was beyond ecstatic he was stuck to Vincent like glue. Ryan was in Catherine's custody and not Vincent's because he didn't have a job or income to take a kid. Vincent got along with Ryan like they had never been apart and knew him all his life. Susan and Catherine both watch them interact in awe.

"I never him seen take to anyone so fast," Susan says as she walks Cat out of the office. Vincent and Ryan were already down the hall walking together. Ryan was talking Vincent's ears off about any and everything that came to his mind.

"Really. That is a good thing right?" Catherine asks

"Yes, I have a feeling he will eventually be yours. Hopefully, you and Mr. Keller will be married soon would make it a whole lot easier" she winked at Cat whose cheeks when beet red. "You call me if you have any questions or need anything. Here are some of his things he doesn't have much since he never stays in a place too long. I'll be contacting you in a few days to see how things are going. Until then call me if you need anything or have any questions" She hands Cat a large gym bag.

"Thank you," Catherine says as she speed walks to catch up to Vincent and Ryan.

Once Catherine catches up to Vincent and Ryan Vincent politely takes Ryan's bag from her. Although it wasn't heavy Vincent was still feeling chivalrous anyway.

Catherine set Ryan up in Heather's room, it was definitely a good thing Heather went back to Miami she had the space for Ryan.

"I get my own room?" Ryan asks with surprise.

"Yes, it's all yours kiddo," Vincent says.

"I haven't had my own room since my mom and dad died," Ryan says as he sat down on the bed looking around taking in the room.

"Why don't we eat some snacks and watch a movie for a while" Catherine suggests

"Yeah" Ryan jumps up and heading into the living room.

Ryan picked out the newest Night at the Museum movie while Catherine and Vincent were in the kitchen grabbing the snacks. Catherine made popcorn and Vincent grabbed chips cookies and sodas for everyone.

The threesome had a good time watching the movie together Ryan lay on the floor on pillows while eating snacks and Vincent and Catherine sat cuddled up on the couch. Ryan fell asleep within thirty minutes of the movie but Cat and Vincent liked it so much that they continued watching. Catherine made it through most of the movie but towards the end found she could not keep her eyes open. Vincent hadn't noticed Cat was sleeping till the credits started rolling and he looked down at her in his arms resting peacefully. He smiled staring at his sleeping beauty listening to her small light breathing he gently lifted her up into his arms and carried her off to her bed.

Vincent then came back and picked up Ryan and gently placed him in his bed in Heather's old room. He tucked him in and made sure he was comfortable. He then went back into the living room and cleaned up the small mess that they left behind. It wasn't much just empty cups a couple of wrappers and some spilled popcorn. He smiled thinking about how normal it felt having Ryan around with him and Catherine. They laughed together cracked jokes and talked like they had family night all the time. So natural how Ryan fit in with him and Catherine he almost felt like it was too good to be true. After Vincent finished he went into Catherine's room peeled off his shirt and jeans and climbed into the bed next to her. He immediately pulled her warm body towards his hugging her from behind and drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face.

Catherine woke an hour later, she had planned on working on some cases before she fell asleep but for some reason, she couldn't keep her eyes open. Especially when she sat cuddled up in Vincent's arms the sound of his heartbeat had eventually lullaby her to sleep.

Catherine got up and walked over to her dresser and took out a tank top and pajama pants. She looked over at the sleeping Vincent with his one leg halfway out of the covers. She bit down on her lips admiring his muscular body. She sighed fighting the urge to touch him she instead let him continue his slumber. She changed out of her clothes and then headed into the living room. She grabbed her bag and took out the files she and Tess had been working on since this morning. Flipping the file open she started reading through the notes she and Tess took during an interrogation when her cell started ringing. She knew it was Tess.

"Hey Tess what are you doing calling me at midnight"

"I knew you were still up are you still looking at cases?"

"Yes but I just started I fell asleep earlier, for some reason I couldn't keep my eyes open," Catherine says as she yawned.

"Hum... You sure there isn't a beast baby in your oven" Tess chuckles

"What! No way I am very careful remember"

"None are 100 percent remember"

"Yea yea," Cat says as she changes the subject "speaking of kids I am now the legal guardian of Ryan"

"Whoa, when did that happen?"

"A little after I left the precinct I told Vincent about what happened with Ryan earlier he insisted that we see Ryan. Tess is so unreal it's like they have known each their whole lives I don't understand. Ryan is a great kid seeing him and Vincent's bond I just couldn't say no. So far so good"

"So Cat is a mommy now...sort of weird saying that"

"Well, that makes you Auntie Tess" Cat laughed.

"Oh please I have enough nieces and nephews from my brothers no more"

Cat laughs. "It was nice today having a normal family time sitting with Vincent and Ryan just watching a movie. I never thought that would be us at least not this soon"

"Cat you and Vincent have been through a lot more than the average couple I think it's due time you two got rewarded for your misery"

Catherine laughed "I guess this is a nice reward since Vincent was against us having kids. It's a nice alternative."

"I am happy for you guys"

"Thanks, Tess"

"Whelp partner I am going to get some sleep I'll see you tomorrow you owe me a latte by the way"

Cat rolled her eyes playfully "fine I'll stop and get one on my way in, good night"

"Night Cat"

Catherine sat another hour looking for clues on the case. She got up to grab a cup of coffee. Although she knew she shouldn't her body had been telling her to go to bed with the numerous yawning but she chose to ignore it and grabbed her cup. She felt his presence before she saw him. She turned to see her sexy half-naked boyfriend standing behind her.

"Catherine, why aren't you asleep?"

"I wanted to look at some cases before I went to bed I will be done soon" she takes a sip of her black coffee.

"Catherine you look exhausted you definitely need to get some rest"

"I will once I finish this," she says as she wraps her arms around his neck and gently kisses him on the lips. Catherine pulled away and was going to head back to her spot on the sofa but was pulled back into Vincent's arms.

The kiss Cat had just given Vincent was sweet but he wanted more. The Pajama pants and tank she had on showed off her curves making her sexy without her even trying. He pulled her to him going in for another kiss. Their kiss deepens Catherine's tongue invades Vincent's as she kissed him back with the same intensity. He wrapped his arms around her and lifted her lightweight body up onto the counter. A light moan came from Catherine's lips as Vincent's hands caressed her thighs sending chills through her whole entire body.

He pulled away growling into her neck as he kissed his way down her collar bone. Her scent invaded his nostrils Vincent wanted to ravish her like there was no tomorrow. They both pant as desire filled their eyes. He grabbed the bottom of her shirt pulling it over her head and exposing her red lace bra. She ran her fingers down his chest feeling every rock-hard muscle that scalped his mighty body. That was one thing Catherine loved about Vincent how fine his body looked without clothes on he was definitely a sight be behold. She bit down on her lip as she spotted the waiting bulge in his boxers. Her hands made their way there her touch made Vincent weak in the knees and his eyes flashed amber.

Suddenly Vincent picked her up and placed her on the ground and pushes her behind him telling her to put her shirt back on. She barely had a chance to figure out what just happened when she looked up at Vincent's face to see what he was looking at. She peeked around him and saw Ryan walk into the living room. She throws her shirt over her head making sure to use Vincent as cover. Her heart pounded in her chest a million times a minute. She felt embarrassment flood through her whole body at the thought that Ryan saw her and Vincent in such a compromising position.

"Ryan, what you doing up, are you ok little guy?" Vincent says as he glances back at Cat.

"I heard something and couldn't go back to sleep"

"Come let's get you back to bed," Vincent says walking toward Ryan.

Catherine watched as they walked off back into Ryan's room. She put her hands over her face as she thought about what just happened. She knew she would never be able to continue working under these circumstances so she put her flies back into her bag and headed back to her room. She slowly paced the floor as she waited for Vincent to come back.

"Catherine it is ok he didn't see anything," Vincent says as he walks back into the room. He could hear her pacing from Ryan's room as well as her racing heartbeat.

"Oh thank god" relief washed over her Catherine as she sat down on the bed.

"That was close I almost didn't hear him till the last minute you through off my senses woman" Vincent smirked.

"That was so embarrassing Vincent I have never had that happen to me before other than Heather catching me about to kiss you this has never happened to me. We could have scarred him for life Vincent had he woken several minutes later" Catherine slightly chuckled.

"We can't slip up like that again bedroom for now on"

"Definitely," Cat says as she climbs into her bed and got comfortable under her covers with Vincent she snuggled up next to him and they drifted off to sleep.

Knock, knock!

There was a knock at the front door that morning as Vincent got Ryan ready for school and Catherine got ready for work. Vincent answered to find Tess on the other side of the door.

"Hey, Tess," he says as he opens the door for her.

"Hey, Kellers. Isn't this a picture-perfect moment" Tess smirks as Catherine walks into the kitchen and grabs the cup of coffee Vincent made for her.

Catherine smiles at her silly partner as she grabbed Ryan's backpack to make sure he had everything he needed for school.

"Tess, what are you doing here so early?"

"Came to check on you new parents," she says as she points to Vincent and Cat.

"We got everything under control here" Vincent smirked

"So Cat you feeling better," Tess asks

Cat's eyes widen as she gives Tess a look. "I am fine"

"Feeling better? Were you sick?" Vincent asks

"I was a little bit yesterday but it passed nothing to worry about Catherine quickly brushed it off"

"Are you sure?" Vincent looked at her concerned his mind went to that extra sound he kept hearing coming from her.

"Yes was nothing," she says as her stomach starts to turn. She feared Vincent was listening to her heartbeat and could tell she was lying. Cat hurries and grabs her bag along with Tess and quickly exits the door.

"Tess why did you do that you know how Vincent is"

"I do that's why I did it" she laughed as they got in the car. "I am beginning to think you my friend are pregnant and that you are in serious denial about it"

"No"

"Just because you say no doesn't mean you aren't"

"Let's just go get lattes," Catherine says as she changes the subject.

"Ugh! Your still sick?" Tess asks Cat as they got out of the car and head into the precinct.

"Yes… I mean no. I was fine after a while yesterday I don't know why I am sick again right now but I feel awful" the whole drive over to the precinct cat felt sicker and sicker.

Catherine felt nauseous and had this iky puke taste in her mouth she could barely drink her latte. Catherine barely had enough time to sit at her desk before she was excusing herself to the restroom.

"Here take this" Tess says as she throws Cat a brown paper bag.

"What is this" she questions

"Just take it"

Catherine would have objected but she didn't have time vomit threatened to spill out of her at any second. Like yesterday she barely made it to the bathroom before she started puking.

After she finally stopped puking five minutes later she took a peek in the bag Tess gave her. She should have known Tess got her a pregnancy test. Cat leaned against the bathroom stall reading the back of the pregnancy test box. Her heart rate was through the roof. She did want to know but she didn't want to know. After what happened the last time she and Vincent were in this predicament she definitely didn't want to be in it again. Her nerves tried to get the best of her but in the end, curiosity overtook everything. The next thing she knew she was peeing on the stick and waiting to see what the results were.

"Cat!" Tess yells as she walks into the bathroom. "Are you ok?"

"I can't look at it" Catherine admits as she opens the stall door and hands the test to Tess.

Tess stared at the results window watching as the test changed her mouth dropped "Cat look" Tess says as she shows the test to Catherine. They both stare at the test neither one could move and neither one said a thing.
